The Words follows young writer Rory Jansen who finally achieves long sought after literary success after publishing the next great American novel. There's only one catch - he didn't write it. As the past comes back to haunt him and his literary star continues to rise, Jansen is forced to confront the steep price that must be paid for stealing another man's work, and for placing ambition and success above life's most fundamental three words

  • Rather slow

  • A story full of unexpected happenings that change several lives. Well constructed and acted with my favourite Jeremy Irons.

  • Really lovely and intriguing story. I was a bit disappointed with the end as I felt it a bit unresolved but beautiful acting and nice pace.

  • Not really my thing.....

  • Ho hum. Err.... Let's start with the good bits: nice use of colour, great existential ending. Yeh... now the bad bits: the film leapt around like a grasshopper on speed, narrators are generally bad, but worse when it's about a guy who wrote a book about a guy who wrote a book about a guy who wrote a book. No, really, it's about that. The story concept sounds fascinating, and it *could* have been, but i think the direction let it down. Narration over a film really SUCKS. So, it's okay, but nothing special. 2 stars (one for each good point).
