  • I cannot believe so many high profile actors agreed to take roles in this amateur-ish, chintzy musical. I could not endure more than about 20 minutes - time wasted!

  • Truly awful - but funny and the music was good.

  • I enjoyed this movie and found it quite funny in places, I felt it was all over the place as far as which era it was trying to represent. I'm not a fan of Russell Brand but he seemed to steal the show in this movie.

  • This movie was better than I thought but still not as good as I had hoped. It's a good little movie to watch and sing along to. Some moments were truly LOL and some were just plain weird. Tom Cruise we thought was good in this role. He played the OTT character very well.

  • Those who hate this movie are probably the very teens and 20-somethings that raved in the Heavy-Metal scene, for real, back in that time, hoping that no one remembers their "underachiever and proud of it" times and today hide the tatoos that prove it. Tom Cruise has come a long way from Top Gun -in singing-. As someone else wrote, he is "the only one who got that this is an over-the-top satire". I'd say Paul Giamatti got it too. The main girl's singing sounds like Britney Spears on helium, which adds to the fun. Kids, just relax and enjoy taking a peek at your parents when they thought they were cool!
