  • A gay fantasy based on a theme from Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'. In the play Oberon instructs Puck to administer a love potion that makes those affected fall in love with the first person (or animal) they see. In the movie such a potion is found and administered so people fall in love (and lust) accordingly with funny and dramatic consequences. Middle America is a great setting for this movie especially the bible belt with its prejudice, homophobic and holier than thou attitudes. Seeing these people fall in lust with their same sex friends is satisfying in a kind of 'serve you right' way. As in the play, it's is funny but also cruel as it's based on revenge but is a moral tale. All well that ends well (to borrow another title from the great Bard) and everything is resolved happily. Good script and cleverly directed with some really good performances.

  • Beautifully made, well worth viewing, good direction and cast. Like Emma mentioned nice to see a happy ending.

  • I loved this movie. The music and singing was great. The storyline was fresh and new and unlike quite a few gay movies this one had a happy ending. I now own this movie myself so I can rewatch when I need a pick-me up.

  • I like musicals, I like guys, I like magic and fantasy, I loved this film cos it ticks all the right boxes for me ?

  • Although not terrible, the Overview makes this movie sound amazing. Go in with low expectations and you will find this whimsical musical a bit silly and relatively entertaining.
