The Langoliers, On a red eye flight to Boston from LA 10 people wake up to a shock. All the passengers and crew have vanished. When they try to contact the ground they make no connections. They land the plane only to discover that things havent changed. But its like the world is dead.

No one is there, the air is still, sound doesnt echo, the food is tasteless. And a distant sound is heard coming closer. A race of monstrous beings bent on their destruction is heading for them, eating everything in sight.

  • This film has a somewhat interesting sci-fi premise but, like most of King's TV miniseries adaptations, it's hugely overextended. If you listen carefully you can actually hear the wheels spinning as they try to wring 3 hours of compelling drama out of these flat, one-note characters. Whether it's worth sitting through depends on how badly you want to see Bronson Pinchot's leg get bitten off by a badly-computer-generated Evil Pacman, which in my case was pretty bad. He won't be doing the Dance of Joy after that encounter! (That was a reference to the long-running sitcom PERFECT STRANGERS, which starred Bronson Pinchot as wacky foreign cousin Balki Bartokomous and ran an astounding 8 seasons from 1986 to 1993). I'd say this film was worse than I remember, but I don't remember it being that good. Why did I rent this again?

  • Obviously made as a TV mini series for it to be 3 hours long. Interesting story with adequate acting. The effects are a bit dated but it was quite enjoyable.

  • its was ok. I remember it being much better when it was on TV years ago. Suggest you miss it unless you are a massive King fan or love your aviation!

  • Pretty average King movie. Not scary at all. Worth watching. 3/5

  • Once again Stephen King gives us the thrill of our lives. High recommended for viewing.
