A romantic comedy. With zombies. Life is going nowhere for Shaun. He spends all his life in the local pub, The Winchester with his best mate Ed, has issues with his mum and neglects his girlfriend Liz. When Liz dumps him, Shaun finally decides to get his life in order. He must win back the heart of his girlfriend, repair his relationship with his mum and face up to the responsibilities of adulthood. Unfortunately THE DEAD are returning to life and attempting to eat the living. For the newly inspired Shaun this is just another obstacle. In the face of a full scale ZOMBIE EPIDEMIC, armed with a cricket and spade, Shaun sets out with Ed in tow, to rescue his mum and grudgingly his step dad, his girlfriend and even more grudgingly her friends and take them to the safest place in the world he knows, The Winchester.

  • A smart zombie comedy for people who like a little substance as well as a lot of blood. Clever and full of witty conversation, this is really a film for people who understand the 'educated idiot' who is central to English comedy. Beautifully shot, fabulous attention to detail in sound and music, a little bit of romance and a great ending. Not as good as Hot Fuzz if you're rating the Cornetto trilogy, but still a 5 star piece of filmcraft. I've seen it 5 or 6 times now and I still notice new things!
