This was legendary special effects wizard Ray Harryhausen's last film before he retired from creating movie magic. L.A. LAW's Harry Hamlin stars as the Greek mythological hero Perseus who fights snake-haired Medusa and two-headed dogs to save the lovely Andromeda (Judi Bowker). Laurence Olivier, as Zeus, is one of the many screen legends in this adventure. Burgess Meredith, Claire Bloom, Maggie Smith and Ursula Andress round out the cast as the Gods of Mount Olympus. Director Desmond Davis was camera operator on TOM JONES and A TASTE OF HONEY, two influential early 1960s British films. Writer Beverly Cross was one of the writers on 1963's Ray Harryhausen film, JASON AND THE ARGONAUTS.

  • last week saw the new Clash of the Titans... and now this one. Excellent movie... belong with these greats like Ben Hur and TheTen Commandments.... the story line was much better than the newer version.... It made more sense. The special effects are outdated f course, but the story will grab you an dkeep you on the edge of your seat.. In comparison to the new one, this one has better story line, is a bit 'slower' graphics dated, but still worht watching. Which one is better? both 4 stars worth watching !

  • Horrible B-grade movie from the 80s. Badly-written, horribly contrived script, combined with lousy acting (with the exception of Burgess Meredith), tedious pacing, poor direction, cheap production design and laughably fake special effects which are terrible even for the time they were made in. All together a horrible waste of an overly-long two hours. Unless you want to laugh at how stupid it is, seriously - don't bother! Bonus Features include filmographies for some of the stars and interviews with Ray Harryhausen.

  • Fantastic classic. Kids loved it, watched it twice. It was my upteenth time watching it, the last being about 7 years ago but it still entertained. Don't miss it.

  • If you are a fan of classical mythology you'll love "Clash of the Titans." Please be mindful that the story is abridged to fit into 2 hours but the story was well told. This was the last film for one of the masters of old skool special effects: look at the extras for discover more. This movie was made in the '80's so be kind: it may appear to be cheesy to some. Please,,, enjoy.

  • Although this movie wont compete with todays Fx, it is real classic vintage stuff. Ray Harryhausen was a special effects wizard in his time, and today we use CG to get the same quality. Acting and storyline not bad, but I enjoyed seeing it again after so many years because of the special effects. Overall a good movie!
