A lost soul has just received the wounds of Christ...and a shocking message that will alter history. Patricia Arquette (True Romance), Gabriel Byrne (The Usual Suspects) and Jonathan Pryce (Ronin) star in this chillingly original thriller. Frankie Page (Arquette) is a bold free-spirit with no cares, no worries and absolutely no faith in God. All of that changes when she suddenly begins to suffer the stigmata - living wounds of the crucified Christ. She soon comes to the attention of the Vatican's top investigator, Father Kiernan (Byrne), and also a corrupt Church official, Cardinal Houseman (Pryce), who discovers that Frankie is actually channelling an earth-shattering message that could destroy the Church. He is convinced that she - must be silenced. Kiernan will now risk his life to save not only the Roman Catholic Church but the destiny of mankind forever! Stunning performances, brilliant visual effects, and a cutting edge musical score by Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins and Elia Cmiral combine to make Stigmata a dynamic and powerful film experience.

A very well scripted and directed movie. Patricia Arquette is just great as the leading lady. It does have a Goth feel to it and has a dark and brooding soundtrack to match. Its about possession of course and has some very original ideas. Great special effects and an intriguing storyline, make this movie creepy and cool at the same time. If you liked Lost Souls you will love this, its better by far.

Interesting story and good idea, very frightening in parts. Bit of a dark goth pop video feel in parts though. Extras are really good and worth watching.

Superb role played by a young Patricia Arquette (from Medium TV serives). The story line keeps your attention all throughout this movie and the ending leaves you thinking....
