Betrayed by Vesper, the woman he loved, 007 (Daniel Craig) fights the urge to make his latest mission personal. Pursuing his determination to uncover the truth, Bond and M (Judi Dench) interrogate Mr White (Jesper Christensen) who reveals the organisation which blackmailed Vesper is far more complex and dangerous than anyone had imagined. Forensic intelligence links an MI6 traitor to a bank account in Haiti where a case of mistaken identity introduces Bond to the beautiful but feisty Camille (Olga Kurylenko), a woman who has her own vendetta. Camille leads Bond straight to Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric), a ruthless business man and major force within the mysterious organisation.

Ahhh - the second instalment of Daniel Craig as James Bond. Lots of action in this one, loved the opening scene. Yes, Craig is a killer, and Dench as M plays a pivotal supporting role keeping him in line. Craig as Bond evolves the character, and we see him go up against new sinister baddies.

However, this movie went overboard with scenery and location shoots, to the detriment of the script. There are some twists as it closes the chapter on Vesper, as well as Mathius and Mr White. But most importantly it poses relevant themes for today - such as trading partners - today's terrorists may be tomorrow's trading partners? and the precious resources such as oil and water that are being consumed on this planet.

Would highly recommend this one - if only for Daniel Craig

A great action movie, but not at all a Bond film. Let?s be clear, there is little to complain about with QoS as an entertainment. The action sequences are breathtaking, the acting is top-notch, it has a reasonable, if someone convoluted plot. But it has almost nothing that makes it a Bond film. Bond has been stripped of all the things that make him Bond. The wit, the style, the gadgets, the locations (the action takes place in some glamorous spots, but due to the close cropped filming of the action we get to see very little scenery), the martinis, the cars (ok - there is an Austin Martin at the beginning but its pretty much destroyed before we get a chance to look at it). The irony is that Daniel Craig is a great (perhaps the best ever) Bond. I don?t believe that the impact of his performance would be diminished by lightening up a little. Previous Bonds, particularly Roger Moore, appeared to be enjoying themselves. It?s a hard job being a secret agent, but there was time for some enjoyment. Craig is all work and no play. He can hardly go to the loo without killing someone. There are plenty of secret agent movies that cater to the desire for hard action, character development and other sophisticated characteristics that QoS has in spades. But Bond does not need these things. He is unique and must remain so. I know that many Bond fans share my view on the latest instalment. I really hope that the holders of the Bond franchise will take note and that Bond really will be back.

Beautiful scenery and set shots combined with a bond that has breathed new life in to the franchise should have meant a great movie. Absolutley atrocious and confusing direction and editing plague what potentially should have been an otherwise good film. Disappointing.
