Will Ferrell stars as has-been scientist Dr Rick Marshall, sucked into and spat back through time. Way back. Now, Marshall has no weapons, few skills and questionable smarts to survive in an alternate universe full of marauding dinosaurs and fantastic creatures from beyond our world - a place of spectacular sights and super-scaled comedy known as the Land of the Lost. Sucked alongside him for the adventure are crack-smart research assistant Holly (Anna Friel) and a redneck survivalist (Danny McBride) named Will. Chased by T-Rex and stalked by painfully slow reptiles known as Sleestaks, Marshall, Will and Holly must rely on their only ally - a primate called Chaka (Jorma Taccone) to navigate out of the hybrid dimension. Escape from this routine expedition gone awry and they're heroes. Get stuck, and they'll be permanent refugees in the Land of the Lost.

I read the reviews of this movies and expected it to be terrible, but it wasn't. I actually found it quite funny, as did my seven year old. Will Ferrel was amusing and Danny McBride was great in the supporting role. The writing and acting was hilarious in parts. If you are a Will Ferrell fan, I'd definitely recommend. Great Saturday afternoon movie!

Fairly typical Will Ferrell fare - light, partly funny, but not his best work. I enjoyed it but it is not a great comedy. Some parts were very funny, such as his idea to stop the t-rex smelling him and the nasty mosquito. The whole alien plot thing didn't grab me though. 2 and half stars.

I give this terrible movie 1 star for Anna Friel. The 1 dimentional Will Ferrell has yet again shown he has very little in his bag of tricks and most of the is "borrowed" material. This is why there are no Oscars for Comedys, but a rottom tomato award.
