I found it almost wholly ugly & did not watch right through. If there were good bits they were not clear to me. From the home of spaghetti westerns it hardly seemed of that genre.

An interesting film but again one that has not aged well. The actors handle the material fairly well but it seems rather 'much ado about nothing in particular'

While it is interesting to watch these stars work, I don't feel that this 'oldie' stands up as well to the passage of time as some others The plot seems positively to creak but production values remain interesting.

A unique little movie which on the face of it seems about not much but it soon grips the interest & maintains it. The acting is excellent, as are most of the other elements of film.

The all black with white touches of white setting suits the sombre mood & subject of the play. It's a good version of this play & gets over/through the 'horror' elements. The acting is very good in a true ensemble approach. Almost anything directed by Jonathan is interesting.

It's getting a bit stretched out now & has adopted the cliff-hanger end-of-season thing.

Somewhat too saccharine for my taste but possibly good for kids - the heroes are rats & mice

A true & very fine reading of this play, which can be difficult. Eric Porter is an outstanding Polonius & all parts are well played. It is difficult to find much to cavil at.

Much fun provided by trying to name all the films cross-referenced, generally by what were great original ideas copied so frequently as to become cliches.

made a long time ago, this film holds its position as one of the best films ev er made in France & elsewhere. It is hard to fault it in any area. I first saw it nearly 50 years ago & many of its images have remained with me all that time!

An interesting period piece which doesn't go anywhere very much. Modernists may have some difficulty accepting the force of its driving motives which are very much part of its time. It is an effective character study but Lucinda just isn't a very compelling character.

Not as good as some other wildlife series but still very good

A heavy-handed disappointment

By this 4th series the value has largely disappeared - Dana & Tarrant were never up to the standard of series ! & 2 & now we don't even have the Enterprise!

While Part 3 is not as com-pelling to watch as Parts 1 & 2 this is because of the content rather than any other reason, acting, direction & production values maintaining their standard of excellence.

This complete rendition of Robert Graves' books is first-class on all fronts - scripting, editing, costume, acting, direction & art direction

Not as good as the first 2 series, probably because neither Tarrant nor Dayna is much more than a cardboard cut-out

A documentary, an old one, about the man but with little of his work. Holds some interest

Great attempt at an impossible task

This series begins to lose some of its inmterest as it picks up Tarrant & Dana in place of Blake & Jenna.

This remains the definitive version of Wilde's characters & I've not encountered a better on stage or screen. The wit is sparkling & remains undated - social conditions may have changed but people haven't!

This is an excellent & amusing character study - there isn't much in the way of plot but there doesn't need to be. It is also a piece of understated social history well-handled by ex-pat Aussie director Bruce Beresford.

Well-written, tautly acted & still relevant today as the general themes are universal. I think Rod Steiger received the Oscar for his portrayal of the Chief of Police & Sidney Poitier is excellent as the "passing-through" homicide detective Virgil Tibbs.

not to my taste

It would be rather difficult to classify this film but a second viewing made a little more sense of it. It just seems a snippet of life with little in nthe way of storyline.

If you like broadly-sketched fun then this OTT effort is for you -- it may date rather quickly though.

While the commentary is somewhat banal, both docos contain excellent camera work & interesting material. Rocky Shores is particularly good in this respect.

Good to excellent at all points - acting, direction, photography etc. It also is fairly true to Williamson's play.

This movie is very true to Jane Austen's book & period while retaining ease of access for the modern viewer. All the performances are excellent. It can be enjoyed by Austen fans without their own sensibilities being abraded -- thus well outside the usual run of films "based on" books. I normally run a mile from movie versions of books but have enjoyed this one several times.

It's not a movie but part of a TV series but if you like nature documentaries then this is up with the best. Some things they managed to catch have never been filmed before and all the photography is excellent. Like most BBC productions the commentary is not too much & not intrusive.
