Pleasant movie.

Great nature documentary. The first of the three parts is definitely 5 stars, with information you don't get everywhere. Nowadays nature documentaries are so good that the third part about grasslands (Serengeti) feels a bit like you have seen it all before (although still spectacular scenes).

3 and a half stars. Would have gotten 4 except for the plot (in my opinion) losing itself in the final part of the movie.

I know this movie is considered to be very good, but I just could not connect to it. Maybe to many American references that I missed.

OK to watch, the subject matter is definitely interesting. Unfortunately the script is not very strong. Too many unbelievable coincidences and lucky breaks for the heroine...

Very disappointing... In essence just advertising for a game that may take place in Dante's Inferno, but has almost nothing to do with it.

Beautiful tranquil story thoroughly enjoyed it both for its humanity and the depiction of Chinese country life. Might have been 5 stars if the image quality had been better.

Pleasant enough movie, but in my view really for children only.

Most of the movie was in the 3 star category, interesting enough to watch. But the ending which seemed unrelated to the rest of the movie and completely unnecessary makes it lose a star. Regarding subtitles, there is no option for these in the main disc menu but I got them going using the "subtitles" button on my DVD player remote.

A bit tame compared to the crazy energy in earlier Almodovar movies, but still watchable.

An Intense and beautiful movie. Saw this in a plane first and was not too impressed, but the Blu-ray quality really added something

I found this movie very uninteresting, the idea of aging backward was just not worked out in a believable way (does the main body age backwards but not the brain?). Apart from this, the lives of the people described were pretty ordinary. Watched till the end to see how the script dealt with "reverse birth", but ended up being bored and disappointed.

The behaviour of Lucia in this movie is just not very believable, if she was in a vulnerable life situation maybe, but after making a transition to a successful life married to a famous US musical director? I just could not accept this premise. In some sense covering similar territory as Ang Lee's 'Lust, Caution' which I saw recently, but I enjoyed that much more.

A story that in the end is predictable, about mostly irritating and unsympathetic people in a nasty environment, filmed in an annoyingly jerky camera style.

Entertaining movie with a very original script.

An exquisite movie that really grabbed me. In contrast to some other comments below I thought it was quite intense. Its length was not a problem for me, and neither were the subtitles. I thought the sex scenes were absolutely necessary to provide at least some explanation of the disconcerting, and at least in my case unexpected ending.

This movie is the epitome of decadence. The directors enjoy themselves in luxury while discussing subtle points of "art", at the same time exploiting the condition of the most "miserable" people in the world (their own words) without the slightest compunction. If you think that is great and groundbreaking, go for it.

Overall an enjoyable movie, but for me it suffered from some problems, maybe related to it being made in the USA. I agree with the comments below about the irritating accents: either make the movie in English or in the original language. The other American part about it that let it down for me was that much of it was too easy and beautiful: All the beautiful women, easy sex, recent refugees from Czechoslovakia living in beautiful big apartments in Geneva, talented photographers shooting indoors without regards to light etc. It would have been much more powerful if it had been made to look more realistic.

After seeing Sion Sono's more recent movie "Guilty of Romance" I looked forward to this movie, but it was quite a disappointment. The first part is sort of a teenage romantic comedy, with an occasional more serious element, and mainly interesting for me in its depiction of Japanese society. The second part however descends into total farce, and I did not enjoy it.

Still very relevant today. As already mentioned below, this would seem a good movie for education about drug use.

Beautiful movie, again showing a totally believable portrayal of human behaviour. Brings Jean de Florette to a satisfying conclusion.

Excellent movie about human nature.

Japanese culture is certainly very different from what we Westerners are used to. I found this movie quite fascinating. My one small problem was that some of the aspects of the initial murder scene are not very satisfactorily resolved in the end.

I enjoyed some other Kurosawa movies, but in contrast to some reviews below I think this one has dated. And I agree with the comment that it now seems overacted. Three stars mostly for its historical significance.

Beautiful imagery, definitely worth watching this on blu-ray. A classic story that doesn't disappoint.

A bit on the light side, but a very funny movie. It had me laughing out loud many times, it should be classified as comedy rather than drama...

I can not understand the many low ratings this has received (at the DVD version). A superb commentary on life and the value of being moral and reasonable.

I enjoyed watching and listening to this oldie. To me it is quirky and I think something like this would not be made again in this day and age.

I found this movie quite boring, (even fell asleep for a few minutes while watching). I could not care less about what happened to any of these people, as there was no character development.

Three stars for nice visuals and basic concept, but I was disappointed by the poorly developed explanation of the enabling technology and the somewhat gratuitous "romantic" angle.
