The singing & the songs were definitely the highlights of this movie! Good acting from everyone, but for me there just seemed like something was lacking.

With all the great stars in this, I was expecting something really great! What I got was a mish mash of a ridiculous storyline, which was very disjointed and just out & out ridiculous. I'm only giving this 2 stars for Toni Collette, who held the whole thing together.
Not a bad one, considering whats out there!! Made me jump a few times which, believe me, doesn't happen too often with the rubbish that's supposed to be "scary". Just got too predictable at the end, but otherwise not bad.

In a word "quirky". It was a very unusual storyline - everyone facing the end of the world & how they spent their last few weeks. Steve Carell once again puts in a great performance. Always love Keira Knightley too. A lot of guest stars peppered all the way thru which made it even more interesting. Very enjoyable

A lovely feel good movie, although predictable, but still very easy to watch. Morgan Freeman, as always, gives a sterling performance. The main little girl was lovely, as was the scenery. Very enjoyable

Quite a good movie, very thought provoking. Just show how the recession hit everyone from all walks of life. I'm sure what was depicted in this movie, was what really does happen in the corporate world.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
This film is very quirky, but very very enjoyable! You have to ask who are the adults & who are the children? Great acting all round. A real delight.

This was certainly a weird one (but in a good way). Great acting from the little boy. Anthony Hopkins, as always, was terrific. Loved all the music of the '60s in this as well. Sang along with them all!!
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
I first heard about this when I saw Jennifer Garner being interviewed on Ellen about this movie. So glad I watched it, it was very quirky and had planty of laughs, sprinked with a bit of sadness as well. The little 10yo girl was just brilliant! Loved it and will recommend it to my friends.

Ok I guess, but wouldn't rave about it. Justin Timberlake was quite good in it, proving himself to be an up & coming actor, someone to watch in the future if he gets some good gutsy roles. A good storyline kept the interest going, but only just.
This was neither funny or gimmicky in any way. They should have stopped after the first one & be done with it!
(Don't bother!) - review by Sue
A great story about something that a lot of people would probably never know about this man. Just shows, until it happens to you, you never think about it. Great acting all round. Loved it.

Thoroughly enjoyed the first disc. Can't wait for the 2nd instalment. A great Aussie story showing the hardships of a lot of families during and just after the Depression. Well acted and held my interest the whole time.

Thoroughly enjoyed this one. Never heard of it before & only went on the reviews below. This was a very touching, funny and thought provoking movie, one not to be misssed. I'll certainly be recommending this one to all my friends.

Something very different for Will Ferrell for a change. Not a fan of his, as for me I find his movies quite stuped, but enjoyed him in this one. A lot of stars, but for once they didn't detract from the unique storyline. Loved it. A 3 1/2* from me.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
Extremely well acted by both Drew & Jessica. When you see them both "in real life", as shown in Special Features, they certainly got Jessica Lange down EXACTLY as Edie Snr looked, brilliant! A bit drawn out in parts, but certainly well worth watching.
(Excellent) - review by Sue
Didn't know what to expect, but this wasn't it!! Disappointed. Music was only redeeming thing about it :-(
This movie was sent to me even tho I didn't request it, but so glad it was. A typical Woody Allen movie - hilarious in parts & strange in others. Just a shame Woody Allen himself wasn't in it more, his character was certainly the funniest I thought & once again, he plays the neurotic character to the hilt.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
Thought Danielle Radcliffe was very good in this role & feel we will be seeing a lot more of this talented actor. As far as the movie goes, it took almost an hour before anything really started to happen. A bit silly in parts & quite cliched as ghost stories go, but thought the ending was brilliant.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
Not impressed, didn't think it was very funny. A waste of the stars that lent their voices to it.
The plot line sounds like - ho hum, this has been done so many times before - but this one is a bit different & is very climatic. Well told and acted, this is well worth a watch.
(Excellent) - review by Sue
This took ages to get going, almost to the point that I nearly turned it off, but stuck with it & glad I did. Very violent in parts but all in all a very watchable movie. Good to see quite a number of us Aussies in it as well.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
For me this one had a few funny moments, but all in all, still not as good as the first one! Disappointed
Funny in parts, very violent & language straight from the gutter. Loved Colin Farrell tho.
Thoroughly enjoyable movie. Loved everything about it. Both Plowright & Friend did excellent jobs. Loved every minute of it.
(Excellent) - review by Sue
This is either a love it or hate it movie. I loved it, to a point. Storyline a bit silly but the parts that are funny, are REALLY laugh out loud funny. Sadly not enough of them. Expected it to be just how it was, crude & rude but sadly too much of the drug taking for my liking, and definately not one for children. Probably a movie to watch when there's nothing on TV.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
Enoyed this, tho thought some parts were a bit scary for the little ones to watch. Got a good giggle out of it in parts.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
Whilst I enjoyed this movie immensely, thought the first Dark Knight was better! Still great on the action & special effects tho.
(Excellent) - review by Sue
What with the amount of stars in this, I was expecting something really out of the box, going by the reviews below, but unfortunately, I was very disappointed! Storyline, whilst based on a best seller, wasn't in the least bit funny, I think I may have "grinned" twice. A complete waste of time, don't bother!!
This got me in right from the beginning. So cleverly scripted and acted. Having Maggie Smith was an added bonus. A must see as far as I'm concerned.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Sue
Dreadful!!! Kept forwarding hoping it would get better but alas it didn't. Looked so promising in the shorts, thats what got me in. A total waste of time!
(Don't bother!) - review by Sue
What a brilliant movie!! Who'd have thought Madonna had it in her to direct such a spectacular masterpiece!! Well done Madonna - she should make more if they're of this calibre. A brilliant storyline, switching between the 2 lives of a modern day Wallis, obsessed with Wallis Simpson of the past. Abbie Cornish played her role brilliantly, as did Andrea Riseborough as the 1930's Wallis Simpson. The story was very cleverly told, highlighting the parallels between their lives. A MUST SEE!!!!!!!! I've never given 5 stars before, this is a first for me.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Sue
Weird!! Was waiting for an explanation of what was going on but it never came. A bit of a waste of time
Good movie, altho about 20 minuties into it I remembered I'd seen it before. Nonetheless, I watched it again, realising once again how much I can't stand Helen Hunt.....does this woman ever smile??? (She walks round with a perpetual frown the whole time, and it doesn't matter what she's in). Rest of characters were good & gave it the uplift it so badly needed.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
This was a truely beatiful movie - one I think everyone should watch. The scenary is breathtaking in places, the characters, whilst all opposite in nature, blend well together. For once there is no violence or swearing (a tiny bit, but not really worth a mention) which makes for a great change! This was given a very special touch by Emilio Estevez, as only he seems to have. Really a 4 1/2 out of 5 from me.
(Excellent) - review by Sue
Better then I thought it would be, going by the other reviews.. Jason Segal is always good value & I just love Emily Blunt. Quite funny in parts, altho storyline has been done a few times now.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
Absolutely brilliant!! Loved the whole thing - special effects were outstanding, as was Charlize Theron as the wicked queen. Just a shame they cast Kristen Stewart as Snow White! Whovever said this girl can act must have been drunk at the time. She was a real let down in what was otherwise an outstanding movie. A real must see.
Typical of the times in the deep South. No black person was ever going to get a fair trial, no matter what. Good acting by Tichina Arnold. Worth a watch.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
Actually didn't mind this. I like both Vince Vaughn and Kevin James, so found it easy to watch. Not a standout by any means, but not too taxing on the brain either.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
They say truth is stranger then fiction & in this case, it really proves the adage. What a sister went through for her strong belief in her brother's innocense is nothing short of obsession, but as proved in this case, it was well worth it. Hilary Swank once again does a superb job of acting, along with the rest of the cast. Really enjoyed watching this one.
(Excellent) - review by Sue
Loved, loved, loved this movie!! Most films that flash back & forth all the time can be quite annoying, but in this case, you can't wait to see what is going to happen next, especially in the flashbacks. Great acting all round, with an outstanding performance from Joel Edgerton. The storyline is very feasible and well told. I would certainly recommend this one!
(Excellent) - review by Sue
Going by the reviews below, I was expecting something really out of the box, but unfortunately, I found this movie tedious, way too long and nothing that hasn't been done before!! Disappointed.........
Just a shame that all the funny bits are seen in the previews on other DVDs, so when you see them in the movie, you know what they're going to say. Other then that, only got a few laughs in what could have been a very funny movie if they'd made more of the plot. Depp good as usual. Wouldn't recommend it I'm afraid.
Really enjoyed this one. Its been a long time since this event happened in real life, and you tend to forget a lot of what actually took place, but on watching the movie it does come back to you & as you're watching, you say "oh yeah, thats right". A bit of a sook about these things & I did actually cry twice. Was suprised to see such a big cast for a relatively little known movie. Loved it.
(Excellent) - review by Sue
Loved it. Hadn't heard of it before, but being by Tim Winton I thought it had to be good, and it was! Looking forward to the next "instalment". Acting from everyone is brilliant.
(Excellent) - review by Sue
A bit too long, but you tend to not worry about that, given the intense storyline & the insight into politics in Burma at that time. Good acting all round, especially by Michelle Yeoh as the lead.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
Loved it, loved it!! First saw it on the plane, but with all disruptions, headphones not working properly etc, I missed a lot of it, so was keen to get it again & boy am so glad I did. A real 5/5 from me, or really more a 10/5!! Loved everything about it, the one liners were absolutely brilliant..........solid performances from all the greats in the cast. Don't miss this one - just wish I could give it more
(Not to be missed!) - review by Sue
Thought this was quite boring & way way too long. Actors were good but that was all. A waste of time! Very disappointed given the reviews from other members
(Don't bother!) - review by Sue
Really enjoyed this one - yes it did dwell into the supernatural a bit too much, would have preferred the different personalities road instead. Only downside was that it did get a bit silly near the end, but then finished on a good (unexpected) note I thought. Thought JRM was brilliant in the role.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
Brilliant!! Loved it heaps - wasn't expecting it to be that good. Only got it out on the recommendation of a friend, & so glad I listened. Loved it from beginning to end. Michlle Willams was brilliant in the Marilyn role. Good to see some well known actors taking "bit parts" for a change. Don't miss this one.
(Excellent) - review by Sue
This movie lost me soon after it started but I hung in there & it did get better as it went on. Felt 2hrs was a bit too long tho, would have been better a bit more condensed as it seemed to drift on for too long with pointless waffle.
I really loved this movie, especially as I really like both Ewan & Emily. Storyline was slow, yes, but for me it was still a "feel good" movie & enjoyable to watch. Inevitable finish to be sure, but didn't mind, so just sit back & hopefully it will give you a warm feeling.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
Certainly not what I was expecting. I thought this might delve into modern day actors that are gay, not old ones that are long since dead & buried! Very disappointed.
(Don't bother!) - review by Sue
Not bad, unfortunately I'd seen Avengers first, which this movie at least explained Thor's story. Preferred Avengers tho, more action, altho this one wasn't dull, thats for sure!
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
Terrible!! Was really looking forward to this, going by the reviews I've read, but I was just sooo disappointed. Acting terrible, very thin plot and just a general waste of time. Certainly wouldn't recommend.
(Don't bother!) - review by Sue
Brilliant!! Full on action from beginning to end. Sometimes forgot to take a breath I was so into it. Great fun for the whole family. Hope they make an Avengers 2
(Excellent) - review by Sue
Loved it, loved it, loved it!! When I first read the story I thought, oh oh, here we go again, BUT was I wrong. This is just the best, warm, heartfelt story I've seen in a long time. The fact that it was true, certainly adds to it as well. For me, this is a real DON'T MISS!!!
(Not to be missed!) - review by Sue
This started out really well I thought, something a bit different, and with lots of promise, but got a bit bogged down with special effects by half way through. The hand held camera affect got on my nerves a bit also, especially by the end. An OK movie, but wouldn't rave about it.
I loved this movie. Didn't quite know how it was going to play out, but it was done exceedingly well. Love Colin Farrell & he, along with Dallas Roberts, played their roles exceptionally well. I agree with Alicia's comment about Robin Wright though, she didn't fit the mould of the character & seemed to be trying too hard to fit in. A shame, as everyone else was just brilliant. The matching of the actor who played Jonathon as a young boy & when he's an adult, was done so well.
(Excellent) - review by Sue
A great movie. Didn't realise it was a true story tho. Guess he was one of the lucky ones that survives. Well acted by JGL.
(Excellent) - review by Sue
Enjoyed the first one a litte more, but this one was still a good follow up. Really loved all the slow motion shots laced throughout. Not as witty as the first maybe, but still enjoyable. Just love Robert Downey Jr, he's the best!
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
Visually this was worth it, but the storyline was just so slow, I'm sure they filled the time with the scenery just to make up the 100 minutes! Like Musicmum below, I don't see why they had to bring in someone from America to play the main role when we have plenty of brilliant actor’s right here on our doorstep! Wouldn't really recommend, unless if you have a penchant for Tasmania.
Agree with other reviewers - missed the mark for comedy & left you wondering just what it was all about. A waste of time - didn't even see it through to the end.
(Don't bother!) - review by Sue
In a word - STUPID!! I like both Jennifer Aniston & Paul Rudd, but this one was way too off base even for them. It lingered way too long on the crude bits & the rest was just unfunny & boring. Don't bother
(Don't bother!) - review by Sue
This is a great action flick, well written with a terrific storyline. Well acted by all & it was good to see an Aussie in the main role. Keeps you interested all the way thru.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
Not a bad movie, but not really anything that hasn't been done before. Good acting all round.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
Whilst I enjoyed this movie, I found Josh Lawson's character - Ben - getting more & more annoying as the movie progressed. Whilst funny in parts, I thought it could have been a lot wittier, given who wrote it. The soundtrack was the best part of it!!
A great movie for the littlies. Nice & bright, lots of colour and movement to keep them interested, altho the message would be certainly lost on the young ones. Enoyable!!
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
I was really looking forward to watching this movie, but thought it was way too long & quite boring. The boy I found quite annoying & the whole build-up of finding out the story behind the key was a real let down in the end. Just a shame both Tom Hanks & Sandra Bullock weren't featured a lot more, there wasn't enough of them.
Don't waste your time with this one.............BORING, BORING, BORING!! I'm giving it a 2 but thats only for the scenary (which is only towards the end).
Fast forwarded a lot of it. Very predictable and next to no storyline. A bit of a waste of time............
Camelot without the music! That said, I really enjoyed this movie. Love that epic period in movies. Didn't disappoint.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
Not bad, wouldn't exactly rave about it, but found plenty in it to enjoy it, nonetheless. Good acting, especially by the son & daughter.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
Agree with the rest of the reviewers - full on action and a great script. Not that hard to pick the "baddies" in the CIA tho. Keeps you interested from beginning to end.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
Really enjoyed this movie. It was a real novelty being silent, plus felt it was good idea not to make the storyline too complicated so it was easy to follow with no sound. Just hope Hollywood doesn't go overboard & make a whole lot of these types of movies, this one was good for a change, but too many would spoil it. Actors good, loved the dog.
(Excellent) - review by Sue
This is certainly quite different from the norm, but a good story none the less. Glenn Close acted very well, but too much of everyone just standing around looking at each other & not much of anything else. Was expecting more.
Thought this was brilliant!! Quite slow to begin with tho, almost turned it off, but after about 20mins, it gets good & only improves as the movie progresses. Thought DiCaprio was brilliant in this role. Great insight into Hoover's personal life without debasing him too much. Eastwood has hit the nail on the head once again with his directing. Just a shame the film was very dark all the time, it made it quite annoying.
(Excellent) - review by Sue
When this first started I thought "here we go again", husband's wife dying then finding out she'd been unfaithful to him. But thats where the similarities ended. This was a brilliant movie & very well constructed and played out by everyone in the cast. Much better then I was expecting. Loved it!!
(Excellent) - review by Sue
This movie really divides the reviewers, (as per the reviews below), you're either in the "love it" or "hate it" category, with no inbetween. I loved it, but agree it lost a lot of its lustre by being on the small screen. This one was definately made for the big screen & in the full 3D effect. That aside, I thought it was brilliantly written, directed & acted. For me, its a "don't miss".
(Excellent) - review by Sue
Thoroughly enjoyed this one! It was great to see an Aussie as well in this movie. Well acted and the costumes, scenery etc was spot on. A well told story, something a bit different. Have taken note of author's name to go & get the book to read now.
(Excellent) - review by Sue
A very heart warming story, loved that it was factual. Matt Damon can do no wrong! The only sad bits were at the end, but done beautifully.
(Excellent) - review by Sue
This movie was a bit different to the norm regarding mass killings - its told through the eyes of the parents of the killer, something I've never seen before. The parents are on the verge of separating when their son goes on a killing rampage at college, then takes his own life. This movie explores not only their feelings and reactions to the incident, but how it also affects the people around them. Well told, but a bit too slow to keep you fully engaged.
A lovely movie, based on a true story Its good to see there are people out there that are trying to save the dolphins, rather then slaughter them. Very enjoyable.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
This was beautifully filmed and scripted. Not as sad as I was led to believe, which is a good thing! Thoroughly enjoyable and the scenery in the beginning is breathtaking.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
Another great M.I. movie...........certainly worth the 2 hours to watch it! Full on action from beginning to end. Tom Cruise once again delivers the role of Ethan Hunt with just the right touch. Well done!!
(Excellent) - review by Sue
A good movie, Meryl Streep brilliant in the role of Margaret Thatcher, but it was way too long & dwelled too much on the present instead of showing more of the political side of things. Worth a watch though
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
Not bad, along the same lines as "Valentines Day", so if you've seen that one, you've really seen this one as well. Heaps of stars make for an ok storyline, nothing too taxing so you can just sit back and enjoy.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
Whilst not into horse racing in the least, I still enjoyed this movie. Sad of course, especially the Melbourne Cup race - if you didn't know it was a true story you would think the ending of the race was too well scripted! Did shed a tear or two during the race scenes, especially when he won. Was interesting also to watch the making of this, and seeing the real Damien Oliver being interviewed. I remember when this all happened (well covered on the TV) so was good to get the background leading up to the race.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
Was OK, but couldn't really get too involved as I don't understand baseball at all, nor does it even remotely interest me. Brad Pitt put in another good performance, what we've come to expect from him of late. Good storyline, but way too long. Only gets a 2.5 from me.
By no means am I a C&W fan, but I did enjoy this one. Gweneth once again shines as a singer, just a shame she didn't do more of it. The concert near the end was great! Other actors did a fine job as well. Enjoyable.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
Quite good for a sequal, but thought the first one was a lot funnier, but this one was a lot better for the little ones - not too long & had some good songs. Thought Will Krill (Brad Pitt) was the best one in it.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
After reading the reviews here, I went into this movie with very mixed feelings. As it turned out, I thought it turned out a lot better then I'd imagined. Having said that, I felt that Anne Hathaway's character (Emma) was belittling herself by wasting all her "good years" going after Dexter, who was a basically a nasty bit of work & didn't deserve Emma's love. The ending was a bit of a surprise I have to say, not as I expected it to be. All up, not bad but certainly wouldn't tell anyone they "must see it". The rating is mainly for Anne Hathaway, I love her in everything she's done.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
Read the book years ago, so was keen to see the movie. Wasn't disappointed at all, and is a good way to get the message out there on female genital mutilation, altho going by what it said at the end, this is STILL going on in this day & age - which is disgracefull to say the least!! The circumcision scene was truely stomach turning!! A must see for everyone.
(Excellent) - review by Sue
Was a bit disappointed with this one. Certainly not as funny nor as clever cleverly written as the Shrek movies, and too much subplot for the littlies. Wouldn't recommend.
Can't believe some people thought this was creepy???? It wasn't & for this genre of movie, is one of the worst I've seen. Don't waste your time on this one, its unbelieveably BAD!!!!!!!
(Don't bother!) - review by Sue
I think this could be summed up in just one word - SISTERHOOD - from early times through to today. A lot of jumping back & forth made it a bit hard to follow exactly what was going on, but it all worked out well in the end. Got a bit of a shock when Hugh Jackman came into it, didn't realise he was even in it (didn't read the Cast section). A good movie, but quite slow in parts. Definately a chick flick tho.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
Brilliant!!! Loved it from the opening schene(s) of Paris right through to the very end. My type of movie, no violence, swearing or nudity. Allen at his very best. Not screamingly funny by any means, but there were some really great one-liners there that I has real "laugh out loud" reactions to. Don't miss this one!!
(Not to be missed!) - review by Sue
I agree with Guy's review - this was an out & out rip off from Rocky IV, which I've seen countless times & loved. This movie falls very short of the mark & altho there's no missing the comparison, even down to the Russian manageress, this is very much a B grade movie, which is a shame with the fantastic Hugh Jackman being in it. If you've seen Rocky IV, then don't bother with this one!!!
Not bad, but disappointed there wasn't more about Robert Kennedy & what he did on the day leading up to his death. Once again, an over abundance of stars taking away from the storyline. A good job by Emilio Estevez tho in directing.
A very interesting synopsis into the building & the coming about of these 7 ancient Wonders. Whilst most were covered in full, I felt some were not given the attention they deserved, e.g. the farris? lighthouse. The narration by Pierce Brosnan became a bit maudalin after a while, in fact it could almost put you to sleep! That said, the whole thing was very well presented and well worth a look.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
Really loved this one............an ending you probabaly weren't expecting, but it was just right for the movie. Loved SJP, she always comes up trumps.
(Excellent) - review by Sue
Way too slow for my liking. Too much of it was in the dark so couldn't see what was going on for a lot of the time. After reading the other reviews, I was left feeling quite disappointed with this movie. A lot of tension but didn't lead to anything.
Quite enjoyed this medievil thriller. Good to see Nic Cage in something like this for a change! The copy of the DVD I got stopped a couple of times, so had to fast forward a bit, so missed all the bit in the woods. Downside of this, to me, is that so much of it was in the dark & you couldn't see what was happening a lot of the time. Other then that, I quite enjoyed it.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
This was very drawn out with very little storyline. I didn't feel it showed what was happening today with the people of Afghanistan and the Taliban. If you want to see just what its like to live there, watch The Stoning of Soraya M. This gives a much better account of what is happening there today. I felt this film only glossed over what is going on
(Don't bother!) - review by Sue
Not bad, a good concept, something a bit different for a change! Enjoyable altho did get a bit silly towards the end.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
I agree totally with Sarah here - I too love movies set in these times but this one was, unfortunatley, DREADFUL!!! After a slow, start I fast forwarded almost all of it, but still got the gist of what was happening. Don't waste your time with this one.
(Don't bother!) - review by Sue
Really enjoyed this one. Never been a huge Matthew McConaughey fan, but liked him in this one, altho they STILL had to have a scene where he takes his shirt off!!!! That aside, this movie was suspensful enough & had enough twists & turns to keep you interested the whole way thru. Very good.
(Excellent) - review by Sue
Terrible!! Don't waste your time with this one. Stupid storyline and acting is terrible.
(Don't bother!) - review by Sue
Had some good laughs through this movie, altho it took a while to get going. The penguins of course made the movie with their antics. Have always loved Jim Carrey & this was yet another of his style of comedy movies. Very enjoyable.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
Usually, when a movie has a huge amount of starts, my radar of "this won't be good" comes up. Not in this case tho, this one was very well done, with most only in it for a very short time, e.g. Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow. This was very well done & seemed more like a documentary then a movie. Back in the 80's we saw a spate of these types of movies & then they disappeared from the screen. It was good to see one now as something "a bit different". Well done & thought out. Only bad thing for me was the Australian "accent" done by Jude Law - terrible!!!
(Excellent) - review by Sue
Enjoyed this very much, altho the voice overs were a bit annoying. Scenery was spectatular, fight scenes very well choreographed. Would have rather it be in chinese with english subtitles tho.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
Really enjoyed this movie, a lot better then I expected. Great cast, great to see Julianne Moore again. Very funny, with shades of Hitch running thru it as well. A good Saturday arvo flick.
(Excellent) - review by Sue
John Woo makes yet another epic. Brilliant to watch, the "choreography" for the battle scenes is brilliant. Spectacular to the extreme.
(Excellent) - review by Sue
This is one of those movies where the shorts make it look it might be good, but its NOT!!! Storyline been done to death in all different ways, outcome inevitable, swearing really bad. Don't bother with this one!
After reading the other reviews I was expecting a lot from this movie, but sadly was disappointed. Felt characters were quite "light on", but good to see Pattinson in something different for a change. Ok but wouldn't rave about it.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
After reading the other reviews, I was going to cancel this one, but I'm glad now I didn't. I really really enjoyed this movie, but agree the language was totally bad & unnecessary, but apart from that, I got quite a few laughs out of it. Justin Timberlake was a complete waste of space tho I have to say. A good 3 and a 1/2
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
A real thought provoking movie - just a shame Clive Owen's character as the father was sooo annoying! I agree with all the other reviews here - a must see for all families with teenage girls.
(Worth watching) - review by Sue
I was suprised how much I enjoyed this movie. For me, it was an old fashioned "feel good" movie, that seems to be lacking these days. Loved the cast, they seemed to bounce off each other, which made for an easy flow with the cast. DVD stopped half way thru, but other then that, it was a great movie.
(Excellent) - review by Sue
To sum up in one word - WEIRD!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was very violent so definately not one for children by any means. Not enough of the fantasy, as I believed there would be going by the shorts. Don't bother!!
(Don't bother!) - review by Sue
Thought this movie was way too long - if they cropped about 30-40 minutes from it, I feel it would have been much better. Having said that, its not bad as far as these types of movies go, & I found myself cheering for the chimps etc in taking their revenge on all the humans that were cruel to them. The first hour, unfortunately, goes way too slow for my liking, and doesn't really pick up until the monkeys are on the San Francisco Bridge. The fact that the main chimp, Caeser, speaks near is just a bit too much "over the top".
About 10mins after it started I realised I'd seen this movie before, but didn't mind watching it again. A lot of stars, which, with a few exceptions, weren't in it too much. Enjoyable but a bit too much jumping between the stories. As others have said, not as good as Love Actually.

To me, this was quite a silly movie. I was tempted to turn the movie off a few times, up until about half way thru. Anyway, stuck with it & it finally came good. Animals were cute & the gorilla was very well done. I like Ken James but thought this a bit silly, even for him. About two & a half stars really.
Really enjoyed this one..............storyline a bit different to the normal romcoms. The boy that played Sebastian was a very cute kid. Don't know why Aniston's character couldn't have picked who the boys real father was at all, seeing they were supposed to be the best of friends? A very enjoyable 100 minutes
As far as Rom/Coms go, this one is way above par. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing, with John Krasinski as Ethan having the best lines by far (just a shame he wasn't featured in it more). Only thing that annoyed me was I felt I was watching Tom Cruise (& not Colin Egglesfield), from about 10-15 years ago. Talk about being separated at birth!! Anyway, that aside, this was a very enjoyable movie, & would recommend highly.

What a great movie!! Wasn't interested in it when it first came to the movies & thought "just another Aussie movie", but wow, how wrong I was..............this movie was brilliant & being a true story as well, made it even more enjoyable to watch. Loved everything about it, the characters were great & it just shows that a good movie can be made without all the unnecessary swearing & violence that most Producers/Directors these days seem to feel necessary. Shed a few tears but on the whole, it was just a down to earth, feel good movie. LOVED IT

Girl meets two guys from very different backgrounds. Umms & arrhs for most of the movie as to who she'll choose, chooses the right one, end of movie.
Don't waste your time watching this utter load of rubbish. The only redeeming feature is Helen Mirren who, sadly, isn't in it enough. Whilst I do like Russell Brand as a comedian, he just seemed to be floundering in this role. I give it a 1, only for Helen Mirren's role.

OMG, this movie is sooooooooo good! Right from the very beginning I knew I was going to enjoy it, & enjoy it I certainly did. Why can't Hollywood make more of these types of movies, instead of some of the utter rubbish that spews out through Tinseltown? All with Matt Damon in all them of course, lol. Loved it, loved it - NOT TO BE MISSED!!!

Absolutely brilliant!!! I was a bit dubious at first, as so often you hear good things about a movie & you go in expecting a lot & be totally disappointed, but not this time. It got you in right from the beginning to the very end. Whilst I agree with some of the other reviewers that Emma Stone's character didn't really fit the time, you tended to overlook that & just be caught up in the unfolding story. For me, however, the best character by far was Celia Foote (Jessica Chastain) who took on her maid with no false airs or graces, and just treated her as an equal - brilliant!! After watching this I am now dying to read the book. OUTSTANDING!!

If you don't mind the language, and believe me its really full on here, then just sit back & enjoy a great movie. Hugely funny in parts with lots of "laugh out loud" scenes. Shame Jamie Foxx wasn't in it more, he was great. More a 3.5

Little Red Riding Hood as we knew it as children flies right out the window in this movie of good v evil. I agree with some of the other viewers, similar in many ways to "The Village", but for me, thats where it ends. Thoroughly enjoyed this movie & a great "who done it" as well. Just who is the wolf? See if you can pick it before its exposed. Quite graphic in parts & certainly not one for the children.

Felt it went back to the original one, which in my mind, had the funniest & sharpest dialogue. Johnny Depp always pleases, altho can't stand Penelope Cruz. A bit too long, but overall worth a watch.

Don't usually find these type of movies funny, but in this case I quite enjoyed it. Not screamingly funny, but thought the story quite witty & had some good one-liners, as well as a few "send ups" from other space/alien movies. Had some good guest stars in it as well, all happy to take minor rolls. Probably a three & a half

It's like most comedies, unless you see them as soon as they come out at the movies, or hire them on DVD right away, your expectations are let down when you wait too long to see them. Sadly, this is what happened for me in watching this movie. I feel I should have gotten much more out of it then I did! Sure I got some good laughs, but unfortunately they were too far & few between! I feel Melissa McCarthy was definately the show stealer in this movie, she was brilliant.

Christopher Plummer was on the Ellen DeGeneres show just last week (1st Feb) talking about this movie! I'd never heard of it before, but on what was said & shown I just HAD to get it out. The fact that it's also a true story, based on the life of the Writer/Director Mike Mills, made it even more interesting. I am just sooo glad I took the time to watch it, it was brilliant - sensative where it needed to be, considering the subject was on the death of his father to whom he was very close, with just a touch of comedy relief thrown in by the presence of the little dog, Arthur. Don't miss this one, whatever you do.

Both British & Australian Governments should hang their heads in shame!! This movie, whilst quite slow & somewhat tedious in parts, was a real eye opener of just what went on behind our backs in the late 50's/early 60's. On the whole tho, was a bit disappointed given the hype it was given with other members' ratings. A 2.5 from me.
