An awesome horror/sci/-fi with great acting, smooth direction and heaps of action. Def pushes the M15 For blood and gore and I look forward to part 2.

So-so at best but done before many times and way better. Caine is really wasted here for talent and it makes one wonder if the superman curse has in fact cursed him into horrible films as of late. The acting is passible but the direction is weak and considering the subject matter it feels like they never really tried. Some amusing deaths including one ripped from return to house of Haunted Hill but the ending made me think "did they run of of film, budget, ideas or all 3?" Average at best and horror fans could do much better.

An interesting updating of Pet Cematay with a seasoning of the wicker man thrown in. If this is Hammers new work its gonna be promising of whats to come.

I think this is one of the best Aussie horror films next to Stones of Death. Ok its low budget and gets unfairly compared to Evil dead but its a decent supernatural film and inspired by evil dead

A brillant vampire road movie with heart that comes across as 28 days later with vampires instead of the rage virus. Even the Brotherhood are much like the miltary from 28 days later. Well acted by all and smooth direction plus heaps of gory vampire action and a nice showdown near the end with a super vampire. My only tiny gripe is they never explain Misters fate but apart from that this is an awesome vampire flick.

Predictable and not the UK's best film has an interesting premise but it turns downright stupid halfway thru and never recovers. The only bright spot is the short policeman who was the best acting thu being in 2 scenes that doesnt say very much but I would had prefered seeing him in the bill or a reletive of Martin Lomax then the way he was wasted in this film. VERY disappointing and only an excuse for a bloodbath without the benefit of a strong storyline backing it up.
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
An awesome ride very much like the fallen with a few changes and well acted, directed and VERY gory for MA15 pushing the boundries of MA15 there. 10 years ago this would had nailed a R18 very easily but times and horror boundries have changed since but it goes silly in the final act when they paint themselves into a cornor and it tries to tie things up a Little bit too quickly but its excellant and horror fans should enjoy.
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
This is the most obvious Demons clone that rips off demons one and two yet comes NOWHERE hear as exciting as those way better films.Acting is horrible and Steve Railsback must had been desperate for the money as even he cant save this Grade Z joke. Direction is one note and cheap and the effects are so Fake in places you can see the rubber masks over the stuntmans faces. Dont get me wroung I love B films and even trashy ones but even This isnt even up there with the best of the worst. Forget this and hire Demons.
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
Better then the usual Peacock garbage and tries hard to be exciting but its undone by bad editing that limits the violence and gore plus its been done before and better.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
A brilliantly made Blair witch style mockumentry about a group of teens who investergate a suspect poacher but end up with more then they bargined for. Acting is brill and the direction is smooth and the Trolls look amazing and very realistic too. Lovely scenery is a major plus. A strange ending but a sequel would be welcome.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
Rotten acting, slow direction mearly no action and a final act that has to be seen to be belived as they all act like Monkeys on drugs doing a hyperactive coca cola add make this Turkey def one to miss.
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
Starts off light hearted and almost comedy but when the creature appears its a real rollar coaster ride of horror, action and thrills. And for once a logical explanation for the monster since Alien
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
I dont understand the bad reviews because this is a low budget stoner/zombie film so I didnt have high expections and I was suprised how entertaining this was. Sadly when things kick into gear it gives up in the final act but as for a zombie film its very well made.
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
Def not your run of the mill horror/comedy as they aimed for different styles here.Play wonderfully and feels like channel surfing in a way with the themes but is quite gory and def sets up the Horror well.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
Mildy entertaining at best but also horrible acting and throwaway direction make this the weakest Sly Fly film ever made. But the CGI Amused and it quite gory in places.
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
A brilllant updating of see no evil with a top cast, smooth direction. Ok a predictable killer but will made still.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
Despite being billed as Horror here this is another tired action/drug film done so much better in so many earlier action flicks. Even From Dusk till dawn was better as it veered into horror but its not a total loss with a few good twists near the end but they come too little too late.
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
Nice and creepy till around halfway then it falls apart and tacks on the most blatant Candyman/Helen Style ending without the classy gore. A pity as they had a good thing going here. So-so at best.
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
Mildly entertaining and Peacock has brought out worse but this beer budget rip off of Brainwaves thu mildly entertaining is almost deviod of action and is more thriller then Horror. Currie is badly cast here and makes one wish they were watching him in Puppetmaster 4 or the lead in Desperate Housewives. Average at best.
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
A decent effort and the Dummys are downright creepy but it goes stupid in the final act and tries too hard for a Puppetmaster style twist. Saw did something quite the same twist wise but at least that ending made sense. Watchable but not as brill as Saw.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
An excellant horror/comedy with a fresh spin on the Hidden and Dorf is game as a new villian outside of Chucky. Acting is decent and direction balances out the sharp one liners and horror very nicely. Quite gory but in a black comedy kind of way. A pity the ending is downright cynical and feels unfinished. Still worth a rental for horror fans.
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
One of the best mid 90's slashers that wasnt a rip off of Scream at the time and even better then Maniac Cop
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
A decent Aussie slasher film and well acted with some great Horror set ups but it gets weird at times and thu they hide the killer Friday the 13th style they give the person away in a sloppy fashion but its excellant anyway.
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
Def an improvement over part one and has a more clear storyline with awesome action and action plus smooth direction but but the spliced in footage of people being killed and burned by the Army didnt fit within the plot nor made any logical sense Aiming for 2 possible endings that confuse the viewer but its way better then Part one and open for part 3
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
A good but not great version of a werewolf story but despite great acting and a decent Monster it bogs down in its own mumbo jumbo and the plot twist is not only dumb but SO predictable as well. Its watchable but horror fans have better to choose from.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
An awesome Aussie take the the cory fieldman film voddoo with a collage student who gets a French box and when its stolen his friends die one by one. Acting is well done, smooth direction and some nice gory deaths with great effects. Im usually good at guessing killers but even I was taken by the reveal at the end of this. Def worth a view and rental
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
Not bad and quite like May but it loses focus midway thru and really flyes off the rails towards the ending becoming hard and harder to swollow esp. her Boss who deserved it the most but they wimp out there. Awesome gore but a bit silly for its own good.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
A brilliantly made horror film that presents good vs evil while paroding the rich and the shameless very well. Billy warlock of Days of our lives is no stranger to drama and he translates well to horror as the hero. Brilliantly acted, directed and Screaming mad georges finest work with the effects thu a LOT of slime was no doubt bought and enough to make the director of Alien green with envy. Awesome film. LOVED IT.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
When the killers are more exciting then the whiny so called heroes somethings def wrong here. It starts well but falls apart halfway thru and if they put more of a storyline towards the 2 friends it would had worked but sadly its only so-so with one of the most underhanded endings in film history. Serverance did it way better.
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
An interesting attempet to try for Gillno but is heavy handed and mostly aviods the action till around the hour mark then it becomes Scream like with the plot and then it really picks up speed. Decent but not up there with the Italian greats.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
What could had been a brill superntural film set at an abadoned beach ends up being a beer budget Zombie flick with horrible acting by a no name cast thu a seagull acts the best flying off, slow direction sets up horror scenes that fall flat time and time again without fail. Theres a bit of violence but it all takes places at night around a hyperactive camera no doubt to hide how fake the zombies and gore looks and a lack of blood. A stupid twist at the end aims for cleverness but ends up being cheap and unfinshed.Def one to aviod.
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
Not a bad film and tries to be Sleeping with the enemy crossed with a David Lynch film and the villian looking like Bergans character from sleeping with the enemy suggests they tried to make an altertive version but the consistant jumping back and thro of the plot and the annyong burring between scenes annoys but the acting is strong esp. the leading lady Sarah aiming for the Julia roberts role and it has some beautiful yet haunting music. Good but it leaves a LOT to be desired.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
This is the WORST movie I have ever seen since the acting is terrible, the direction is really a joke as the camera wobbles worse then the Blair witch project and even when they show action they either blurr the camera or worse stick trees or buildings in the way. Uil Lommels films may be the lowest grade drivel but this film is worse as it feels like they never even tried.AVIOD
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
Rutger Hauer's presence helps for what little time he has and its a decent setup but it falls apart halfway in and not only feels like the director loved Urban Legends Sashas kill a little bit too much but also streched it to feature length but a bit of varity in the kills and not cheating on half the kills being off-screen would had helped greatly plus the ending plays like a rotten 1980's horror film ending of a bad film. Passible but horror fans can do better.
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
The star from Saw(Hoffman) and unintentional humor lift this above zero stars. 5 friends go to a cabin in the woods and run into Doctor Chopper and his knife happy nurses. Acting apart from Cosner is horrible and I wished they kept chopper silent as he cant say a line without butchering it and even makes "Howdy" sound corny. Interesting effects and some gory kills but not very consistant like they were running out of blood. So-so at best with a stupid ending.
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
Murder on the Oriant express meets Halloween in this Original and novel take on the slasher gene back in 1980 with Curtis and friends being stalked by a serial killer. Acting is 1st rate and Direction is smoothly done and the idea of the killer chaging costumes between kills is novel and works well. Not very gory for it's time during the gory 80's boom but violent enough for the M15 My only gripe was the strange twist at the end but it doesnt hurt the rating at all. Recomened for those who love old skool slashers.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
Despite the decent acting this is very average for the high standard of a Japanese film. It aims for Seven but falls short due to overlength And some absurd plot twists. An epp of the x-files called Pusher did it before and better.
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
An awesome film loaded with action and even a bit of comedy. Well acted and the twist towards the Exorist was def welcome.LOVED IT.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
It tries hard and has some decent effects but the lack of cameos and nasty jokes aimed at overweight people of which I didnt find funny in the slightest makes this so-so at best
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
Not a patch on the Original but better then the God awful part 2 with some decent vampire killing action and even a bit of humor.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
Wow such negative reviews apart from one. I reaaly enjoyed this as both a zombie film and a human drama and most didnt seem to understand they tried to be different from most with this while sticking to the trational zombie trappings others have done. Most complained about the ending but the guy said "There is hope" meaning possible sequels.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
Not great but not bad either as a rip-off of They and the acting helps but it runs out of steam halfway in and has a horrible ending
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
Thu films with killers and the blind have been done before this was very well made with great acting, smooth direction with being very suspenseful in places and some violence but nothing over the top.Subtiles were not a problem being a fast reader.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
Average at best but a horrible transfer from VHS to DVD making the picture pixelised, uneven acting with Al trying to be David Hess and doing a really weak job with an annoying laugh every 5 mins and he doesnt even have Hess's bad boy smoothness and an attempt to be Last House on the left misses by a mile and Tame for the R18 and would pass MA15 these days. It's mildly amusing but Last House the Left(1972) is way better. Even the remake.
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
Im no prude when it comes to torture porn but this mess despite decent acting by the leads makes me wonder if it was either they got bored or simply a crude joke. The torture porn was decent and made me wonder if the censers were asleep during that since this got away with it yet the human centipede 2 which was TAME compared to this got 30 seconds cut and what they cut wasnt remotly as gross as this. Passible but there's better films of this type out there.
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
Strong acting saves this and its rather decent aiming more on the Psychological then Torture aspects but Despite a strong start and Bruno doing his Justice on the guy he weakens far too soon and considering hes a surgeon he would had know slower ways to hurt the man and how fast he does it weakens the film and feeding him vension comes across as compassion to the guy as he deserved to be fed far worse and force fed it too. The blondie lady was unnesscary with that plot twist and ok it plays on realism but wouldnt she had tried to appeal to his heart being a vitim of the guy as well? Its well acted and decent effects but the direction went for strange angles here. Good but not great.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
Awesome film is def up there with the best of them with strong acting, smooth direction and quite graphic in places. Bill Moseley is def a stand out here and smooth with his ladykiller looks. Awesome Twist near the end .
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
Brillantly made grindhouse film with Hauger at his best. Heaps of blood and gore campy acting and a classy updating of deathwish. The 2 robot bountry hunters were a hoot as well.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
AN Excellant film that starts like the Boondock Saints and turns Wickerman towards the end. Well made and acted and VERY violent with some impressive torture but it explains little and an odd ending. Still worth a look as Its a brillant UK film and shows the Brits are back in form.
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
An excellant updating of Brainwaves but a heart patient instead of brain has top acting and well directed thu a tad too long and could had worked better as a Twlight Zone short better plus the ending is downright weird
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
Not bad but cheaply rips off Mirrors without that films style, class or great actors. The acting is passiable for this low budget kind of film and the actors try hard but the horrible pacing cheapens the film and reduces it to set pieces more so then a storyline. There's some violence but nothing overly gory and I found the evil doubles more interesting then the heroes as they like the Insidous ghosts have a story od their own to tell. A classic twist ending helps a lot. Good but Mirrors was way better.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
Im usually a Troma lover of their films and thu its not quite as horrible as the worst but still pretty terrible and a penny budget blair witch going on here with a guy in a cheap costume..AVIOD
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
Very well done and plays like a WW2 film crossed with a killer mutant film. My only gripe was not enough Sean Petwee but he sets the scene well with his trademark "All right ladies"
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
One of the worst Aussie Horror/Comedies ever made is so badly made its not even so good its bad its just plain childish and stupid with rottern acting, bad direction, I have seen better humor and setups in a High School school production and the gore is fake and laughable. Def one to aviod and even Silent Night Deady Night 2 was Twilight compared to this.BOOO RUN AWAY FAR AWAY.
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
The weakest of the whole 3 tries to conclude the story but gets too mystical, is running out of ideas and has the worst wrap up since Angel S5's open ending. A final sequel was planned but still to date has never been made. A pity.
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
The bear gives the best perfomance earning two stars but terrible human acting and sets the wrong tone with the bear being the victim ala The human centipede. He might had well be a grizzly version of Martin Lomax and the scene where he stands by his dead soulmate will upset animal lovers as thou loyal of him and true to canines like dog, wolves or bears its very heartbreaking. The ending is stupid and illogical.
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
Not a bad murder/Mystery but gets ho-hum towards the end
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
Quite good but a step down from Part 2 and also Mike is barely in it which is silly since its his story as much as Reggies. The gold ball gets repeated without the class the one in part 2 has and the ending is getting worse setting up part 4.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
Portman’s performance saves it from zero stars but the horror rips off Mirrors and Terror at the opera was a better film on the subject despite being Mac-Beth as the play.
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
Mildy entertaining at best but leaves too many questions unanswered like who was the jumper and why? And thu well acted and thats its only saving grace the horror is poorly done and the violence on a made for TV level.
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
Part 2 improves on the Original with style to burn and plenty of action and the new Gold sphere is amazing being the terminator of flying spheres but sadly the character of Alchemy is stuidly used for the twist and again its open but def an improvement over part 1.
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
oh my such negtive reviews. To enjoy a decent Japanese film one must take to the humor and hyperactive action as tounge in cheek in order to enjoy. This is brillantly made with heaps of action some great humor and it doesnt go too much overboard on the silly factor as some do despite being fun.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
A decent Aussie attempt to do Australia's stag night and Creep and great acting def pushes this above average but despite a decent set up and a decent atmosphere of Doom they show the villian WAY too soon and it would had worked better if the creature was unseen till the 3rd act. Also the ending is suspect consdering the events and a train offical disappearing WOULD had been noticed but it def comes across as possible in a scary sci fi kind of way.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
A decent horror movie with some sci fi elements and very well acted esp. Baldwin as a kid who is a highlight as the likeable Mike and decent action but the film falls short due to a silly plot twist near the end trying to be TOO clever for its own good but def a fine start.
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
An Above average take on Saw wisely going more for the thriller element then Horror which the is mistake the saw sequels took and better then most trashy efforts like Nine Dead among others but sadly it fails to explain why they were there and more of a clear backstory to their sins would had been welcome and the whole last act tries for an X-file element with the followers and does it badly invoking laughter rather then fear but def above average and it is def watchable.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
I expected another terrible sequel as after part 2 they went downhill and very fast but thou not perfect and too Twilight inspired this basic werewolf film is def above average and a step in the right direction.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
One of the best remakes ever made by Tom Savini who shows respect to the Original film but adds his own take improving the film esp. making Barbara much tougher sara conner style. Not gory for him but a very satisfying remake. A nice haunting ending too which makes the viewer think long after the film has ended.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
The 1st story is a bad rip off of The descent without the fun but the other 2 stories are mildly entertaining. A pity short horror stories of today wont ever have yesterdays glory. A pity.
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
The 1st 2 stories are horrible in the trash movie sense but the 3rd story is mildly amusing with a decent twist at the end
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
A brillant updating of Christine with a bit of Roadtrain thrown in. Quite gory for M15
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
An enjoyable combo of Biker and possession film which is enjoyable.
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
Im a HUGE FAN of Troma films and this is clearly their worst ever made. This film makes Pot zombies look like Dawn of the dead. My advice? Even if you love Troma AVIOD THIS as its clearly one of their worst blunders and this film would put a rock to sleep.
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
Awesome Horror/Comedy where the horror sterotypes are revesed and 2 of the nicest Hillbilles since Jed Clampet's family are under attack when a group of collage kids mistake them for killers. Well acted by all and the direction is smooth and Original while balancing the horror and comedy very nicely. Quite gory but the gore is played for dark humor and is very well done..LOVED IT
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
Rotten acting, silly direction and fake gore sink this wanna be. Im aware Troma doesnt do acadamy award material but considering this came out around when the far better Toxic Avenger came out theres no excuse for trash like this. Def aviod unless you have a jonesing to see every troma film made on this planet.
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
Another swing and a miss for Troma. Preacher man Bob is a hoot but even he cant save this turkey. He deserves his own movie series.
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
Brillanty done and way better then the over rated Open Water proveing Us Aussies can really make films as decent if not better then the Americans. Well acted and VERY suspenseful in places and one Jump scene that nearly made me fall off the couch and it wasnt the shark either(Scared him too).
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
Above Average for Troma and 2 movies for one is vaule here. The monotome way the anti-heroes talk grates esp. since in revenge of the nerds they talked like humans and not computer style bu the gore is passiable and its a guilty pleasure of which Troma delivers
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
Mostly Peacock films are pure cheese or trash but this little indie gem to my suprise acutrally delivered despite the low budget. Decent actiing(seen far worse), smooth direction with plenty of twists and turns and ok tame for MA15 but still quite violent. A decent ending helps.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
Not bad and well acted but the suspense is weak and def NO blair witch or Jaws. The demise of one character was far fetched the way its shown as sharks dont slowly pull someone down like that. A nice shot of 2 pelicans amused.
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
Not bad and tries hard plus its def gory in places and quite bloody but the mutant on the loose has been done before and way better.
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
Awesome zombie film and def up there with 28 days later. Plenty of action and heaps of blood and gore plus the hyper zombies is def a plus as its worth it seeing them bounce off walls. Open for a sequel but def will be welcome if well made.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
Quite decent and funny in places but could had been more scary. Quite a bit like the shining in a way.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
A decent Nun style Kill Bill with plenty of action but sadly they leave it open at the end maknig one wonder if part 2 is in the works. Works well despite that.
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
A bit less sex and more dismemberment would had been nice but this is one of the better Troma films I have seen of late and even Sargent Kobuiham and The Toxic avenger make appearances
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
Good but tried to be Childs play at 1st and then switched gears to Puppet master 2 climax making one wonder if they should had stuck to the Original Idea and usually lonely people either keep trying to connect or buy a pet like a cat or a dog but the premise is decent though it suffers due to the budget. Good but not great.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
Its decent for a slasher film and brings Terror on Tour to mind minus the clown costumes and the music and action is excellant but they start by hiding the killer and should had kept it Friday the 13th style. Still excellant and worth seeing thu.
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
Not bad and the presence of Lance Henriksen helps thu hes had a bad run and nowhere near as decent as he was pre-scream 3 but its been done before and better and the storyline reeks of Bad B movie. Not even much in the way of violence for those into that and a really obvious fake monster that looks like a Halloween reject.
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
Quite good and inventive but the monster is badly underdeveloped and the Twist ending thu decent leaves a LOT of plot holes. Not the worst I have seen but if the plot was slightly reworked a bit it could had made 5 stars.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
An awesome updating of CUT has a group of people terriorised by a movie killer but with a twist. Borrows from Cut and the charmed S2 ep of chick flick but hacks back to the late 80's/ early 90's films of mayhem and horror with inventive kills and the best double impaling since Friday the 13th part 6 and loads of blood and gore.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
Excellant and very much like the Shining crossed with cookers as 6 friends are snowed in and cant tell if the ghosts they are seeing is cabin fever or real ghosts. It doesnt offer much answers but the fate of 2 feels cheap and a cop out lowering this one star. But def worth seeing.
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
I really enjoyed this. Kinda like the werewolves from Underworld
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
Quite a decent early English slasher with a decent cast including a young Derick Fowlds nearly 20 years before he was Oscar from Heartbeat so its good to see hes always been a great English actor. The rest perform equality well. Smooth direction and quite gory for a 1972 film. My gripes are the sex scenes were pointless and it could have had a bit more horror as its quite uneven making the 1st 3 kills the best but def a decent British flick and worth seeing.
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
Suprisingly good for a Peacock film. Thu not perfect and some of the attacks reeks of cheap budget. The presence of Shawn Devron and some decent action thu cheesey makes this quite enjoyable and better then the usual Peacock trash.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
Awesome Horror film about a reporter who poses as a patinent in an institution and founds more then she bargined for. Acting is decent, smooth direction by the director of the gate and quite gory.A strange ending but I found it laughable and highly unlikey but A sequel will be welcome.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
Horrible film shows the English make boring serial killer films as bad as the USA. Watch the crime and investeration channel on Foxtel if your into this sort of thing since these movies do zero justice to the stories.
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
Not bad as a torture porn with a nice meaty Ankle smashing but the comedy grates and is not funny in the slightest. Good but not great.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
A horrible film starts out as badly done horror and turns into a beer budget Bloodsport. Actin is horrible, direction is a joke and despite the MA15 for strong violence its Tame with little to no blood and a waste of time. if you like Action rent Jean Calude dammes bloodsport or a horror fan like myself Prom night(1980) or any other high school slasher or horror film as this is neither horror nor action its a failed mismash of both genes trashing both. Aviod like Uli Lommel.
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
2 of the stories were awesome 1 was like creepshow and the dog revenge one was well done but the 2nd story came across as a sexual Lethal dose and the epp of Angel where Linsey gets a new hand and was poorly wrapped up leaving no explanation. The film is good but the 2nd story needed fixing in the last act.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
Woah such negitive reviews. I really enjoyed this and it came across as an updated Dark Asylam with people locked down in a prison. Ok it does pull away from the action and aims for the who-dunnit and its predictable who it is but I found this film was a fun ride.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
A well crafted re-working of Poltergeist that’s well acted by all, smooth direction with creepy suspense and some good jump scenes. Light on the violence and leans more towards the creepy then gory with a building feeling of dread. My only gripes are the Twist at the end is too obvious and When they played Tip Toe through the tulips its more strange then creepy and would had worked better if they played it off key to reflect the creature playing it from Ordinary to a more sinister version but these flaws are forgivable and its def worth a rental for those into more scary and less gory horror films.
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
Ok this movie is downright horrible and false advertising as the Western scene is the 1st 3 mins before jumping to the present and then instead of being a vampire film they throw in the villianess from Evil Angel, Horrible acting and Doug Bradley deserves WAY better away from Pinhead and he comes off best, Direction gives the cowboy VERY little to do and most of the kills are off-screen. I expect that from a PG-13 Sly/Fly film NOT AN R18 FILM. Waste of time and this film makes Twlight look decent and I hated that as well.
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
Unlike Most remakes that Trash the Original this was obviously made by a John Carpender fan who wanted to make his take on events. Most of the film is a scene for scene copy with a few differences where the Priest isnt focused in on as much, the villians are proper ghosts and kill like Ghosts and not zombie like ghosts who kill like Pirates and the cast is def game. Most complained about the ending but It makes sense with a couple of viewings and is def more downbeat then the Original but more satisfying. The fog effects done in CGI are brill.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
An Excellant Carpender Horror film with great acting by a decent all star cast inclung Akins, Curtis and her mother Leigh among others, likeable characters, smooth direction and brillant old school effects wioth a realistic fog and creepy Ghost zombies but sadly Carpender unlike most of his films takes the trendy plot twist/ shaggy dog ending going agasint the rules the film set up for a cheap final scare. It doesnt ruin the film but cheapens it to lesser films sadly.
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
When even the Infamous Uwe Bolle tells the viewer at the start the films even beneath HIS standards something is wrong here. This film is equally as dreadful as Pot Zombies. Im aware Troma wont ever win Oscars but whatever happened to films like The Toxic Avenger??? They are mostly swing and Miss these days sadly.
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
Spends more time on gory murders then a solid storyline. I usually dont have a problem with this if the storyline is strong as the gore but this simply rips off Shallow Ground without being as decent. Mildly amusing at best and Kilmer comes out best for the acting and he's really creepy when he tries.
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
Usually I agree with most reviews but thu the film isnt brill and a cheap rip off at least unlike conquest and Barabian Master where hands cut off = NO BLOOD(Unrealistic) This film is pure carnage for it. The only reason for flaws is the Cylops is the most CGI I have seen next to stir of echos 2 and that Eric Roberts should had been the hero despite his age and is badly miscast but its quite good despite the negtiive reviews and if the other viewers really want Z grade they should watch a Uli Lommel flick.

Whoa!!! Such harsh reviews. It’s obvious the people who reviewed this were not prepared for this kind of film. I didn’t need to be drugged in any way yet it made sense to me as one must understand Japanese humour and sense of play as they are also very dramatic as well. I really enjoyed this. Lots of action, pretty Japanese ladies, heaps of blood and gore and the humour is likeable and suits the movie well.

Not the worst zombie film I have seen as House of the dead or Hell of the living dead takes THAT dishoner but thick accents that are hard to understand and slow pace takes a bite out of it. Slow in the 1st half and becomes Mildly amusing in the 2nd but its clear they ripped off the Guivor for the plot twist to liven things up.

One of the Best English Horror/Comedies I have seen in a very long time and thu the humor is crude its very funny. A circus band takes on mutant zombie ladies while trapped on a farm. Well acted esp by the clown and a little person called Zeus who is 2 characters from the human centipede being large bellied and tatts and hes a real hoot. Direction is smoothh and balalces the humor and horror very nicely. Very bloody in places and ok the effects are a tad cheap but passiable for low budget. The ending is strange but a great film nonetheless.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
A decent attempt at funny games with a gang and quite scary but it falls apart in the final act with a family closer to American Psychos then the traditional English.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
Brilliant revenge action thriller is very much like a Koran Dirty Harry. I disagree sadly with Max as ok the others went faster to the punch line I saw the devil played it smarter showing the anti hero was human and simply wanted the guy to suffer as his victims did. Well acted and VERY violent but a treat for those who don’t mind subtitles and decent foreign action..
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
Sorry to say but the Germans aimed for Murder she wrote here and came off more as Twin Peaks with the movie more about how hateful the family was then catching a killer. WAY too many flashbacks, an annoying lady saying a prayer thu out the whole film when once is enough and very little action and way too much talk and also no payoff at the end makes this one for the bargin bin.
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
Quite decent and explains the mystery tenant on the 4th floor from part 1. My only gripes was it goes Demons 2 silly at times with people being bit but never seen for scare effect and it really gets silly in places but its decent and up to part 1 for a change.
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
A scene for scene remake of REC though one scene was thrown in to simply make it sick and appeal to the American target audience(the cop trying to walk on a broken leg) and I don't gross out easily esp. being a human centipede 2 fan. The film is excellent and well acted by all esp. the fireman who looks a bit like Paxton from Hostel. REC was filmed in a less serial and more gritty way but it def holds up well for a remake. A few decent jump scenes even had me on my toes near the end.
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
This movie is a JOKE. And thats if you can even call it a film. It's was banned in Australia due to the fake violence and the fakest "snuff" at the end. Its stupid August Underground, Grotesque and Carver get ignored yet this abomination gets passed uncut with an R18 . Im an fan of extreame films yet even THIS bored me almost to sleep. This makes the 1st human centipede look like Braveheart. The only remote fun was a Marti Gra and the viewer is better off visiting South America and seeing it for real. AVIOD unless you want a really terible film.
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
And thought Funny games was terrible. This drops it to a new low like the director was aiming for overkill. A waste of time
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
By the title one would assume its a cannibal film but alas its really a kidnapping film with scenes that border on torture porn but put food in place of the torture thu there some very bloody violence in this. Well made and def worth seeing.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
Not bad and Hopkins shines but basically its just another Exorcist clone that tries too hard to be realistic and the 3rd act is just another rehash of Hopkins playing a Lector like character when he's possesed. The horror is passable but nothing classy as the Exorist or even Beyond the door. Godd but not great.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
Mildly entertaining at best but contradicts the 1st 2 films, the recast actor for the witch looks Nothing like Anna's version in Inferno, the whole urn idea is cool but why this raise her nonsense when she was clearly around in Inferno? The graphic violence and gore is amusing at best but if the storyline was as strong they would have had a winner on their hands and not fans like myself screaming for a remake. Some really cheesey CGI almost makes this a comedy. Average at best but def not remotely as decent as Suspria or Inferno.

An awesome film and def should be shown to anyone who is obessesed with a rock star or film actor to prove that their onscreen or stage loved ones are not who they think they really are. Eddie who is obesssed with a rock star accidently brings his hero back from the grave but also finds out his mentor is not really his friend at all willing to help him strike back at the in crowd who pick on him at school but also evil and a killer as well and has to choose to betray his idol or do the right thing for everyone. Marc Price plays the likeable hero very well and the film has awesome music by Fastway. Violent but tame even for M15 But also helps the story. Ends well too.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
A brilliant film and much like the great grandaddy of Drag me to Hell which shares quite the same ideas. The film is well acted, smoothly directed with great suspense scenes and thu theres a little bit of violence its not gory and simply there to back up the storyline. A satisflying ending too.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
One of the best Aussie Horror films I have seen in awhile. Loaded with heaps of blood and gore, old skool effects for the Kraken and doesnt rely on CGI effects. 3 zesty hitwomen hide out at a beach town but when warned about danger they show their bad gal attitude and refuse to listion and a killer Kraken is unleased. It starts in B W but fear not as it turns colour after 5 mins or so so its not B W thou out like The human centipede 2. Def worth a view.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
So close to 5 stars its frustrating as this is an excellant horror film and plays like a cross between Wrong turn and Ravenous. Acting is decent and direction is smooth plus the violence and gore isnt shy and pushes the boundries of MA15 To new levels as this if made around 5 years or so would have had R18 all over it plus theres one scene that really freaked me out and I dont gross out easy invoving a toenail and had me gripping both feet protectivly. A pity the ending is downright silly and explains nothing but apart from that its def a decent film.
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
Not as bad as it could had been and tries to outdo Vacancy with a Live Feed style twist but it falls apart at the end.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
Troma used to be great in the 80's and Toxic avenger has proven that but this is a complete waste of time and plays like a awful send up of Friday the 13th with pointless Porky sound effects that grate on the viewers nerves. As Dan the other reviewer had hoped it would be a bloodbath but oddly not much happens and theres not much blood and gore for the R18 rating and Strong violence that I hoped for. A waste of time. Stick with Toxic, class of nukem high and the Sgt films but def aviod this like the plague.
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
Decent and has some show stopping battle scenes but the film flickers in places and drags in the middle when the effects are out on their coffee break. Combs is very badly miscast and considering he played the wonderful Doctor West from Re-Animator it's a pity he is so badly used here as the son when he could had had the Doctor's role. A good but not great horror flick but def watchable.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
Not bad and the talent is there plus theres one scene thats downright cold with the suspense but also NOISY as well so def a steady hand on the volume there. Sadly it falls apart ner the end and never really recovers. Some violence but nothing too over the top.

Interesting and tries to be different but its bacially an oversexed rip off of Reeker. The twist ending is very much like Hellrasier 8's.

A fair take on the Frankenstein legend but it tries too hard to bring it into the 21st century with trying to turn Frankenstein into the lawnmowerman with some VERY far fetched elements that even myself a movie viewer who can sustain disbelief even found hard to swallow. A fair amount of blood and gore but the movie loses te charm the old Frankenstein films had going for the blood and gore over an intellangent storyline. Not bad but the viewer can do much better with even Re-animator
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
The story continues with the hunter but a couple of new plot directions and a super race of Lyans def helps the franchise keep going. Beckinsale contines to appeal and entertaine as Selene and the action is very well done. My only small gripes are very little Micheal acton and a possible sequel but hopefully the sequels will keep the good story going. Loved it.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
Ok its low budget but despite that it goes out of its way to be different and def has some real gory kills. I really enjoyed this and thu the ending is weird it def is an enjoyable film.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
Not bad and some very gory kills but a shaky camera making the film look like the music clip of Take on me by AH-HA in the comic book parts and the low budget drag it down. But def promising work as the director def shows some talent in the kill scenes and they are laid to rest level of gory.
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
Not a bad Ghost story but lacks exciting action and has been done before and better. But this being David Carrdines final film its tough to hate it. Its watchable and better then some other efforts of its kind but nothing outstanding as it could had been.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
Quite like the Exorist but now the lure is updated and thu the Original is fine this is better as it doesnt fall into the same flaws the 1st one had like Regans head turning 360 without it killing her. Well acted but Bradly could had been in a few more scenes. Decent suspense and a few powers shown by the possesed.Effects are passable but strange ending.
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
Quite decent but gets silly towards the end but def a decent deliverance update
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
don't bother This movie is HORRIBLE and If you want an Excorist rip off watch Beyond the Door as it may be cheesy but at least it's fun. If you rent this and waste 91 mins of your life doing so you will feel like you have been brained in the face with a shovel over and over.
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
Quite decent and def shows on both sides of the fence the Lengths people go to for art. Its a bit like Last house on Dead end street crossed but way more arty and HEAPS of sex with one scene crossing over to X in a brief shot and a scene with a horse guranteed to offend esp. since a Beligian film got banned for more or less the same reason. The violence is graphic and pulls no punches and it goes WAY too long as its nearly 2 hours long despite the 87 Min running time said. Its good but could had been better.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
I viewed both 2D and 3D versions and I enjoyed both. Def is better then Zombie strippers whose dumb humor was harder to laugh at in my view whereas the Japanese humor fits nicely within the storyline. Plenty of carnage with lots of blood and gore and oddly breasts considering how strict Japan is with nudity in their films so def was made for the overseas market so they could get away with it. Def worth seeing. LOVED IT.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
Belive the hype. Im a forgiving fan of bad films and love vampire films but they never even tried here. Everything crashes and burns here and this plays like a terrible film you expect on cable at 3 in the morning but its on rental here. If you love vampire films do yourself a favour and rent Blade or if low budget Subspieces. Even Twilight as slow and terrible as it was is Braveheart compared to this snoozefest.
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
One of Monster Picture's worst films that could had been awesome but they set up horror scenes that fall flat time after time and the worst aviodance of death scenes that make a Sly Fly film look graphic. A pity as nothing is explained.
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
I really enjoyed this. Heaps of action and the Japanese humor is awlays a hoot and they certainly dont lack for imagination. VERY gory.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
What Mac-Gee hinted at with May and the short Lucky girl explodes here in The Women. Brillantly acted by all and the direction is smooth and makes one think about whos the real Monster here as the plot goes on. The effects are brill and a def pot boiler here as the best is saved towards the end. Most said this was Anti-female but I disagree as one character was def power hungry and hated women but Bloodsucking freaks and Love camp exploited women far worse in film so compared to those it was quite tame. A decent film and horror fans should enjoy.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
Better then expected and some lovely Scottish countryside that remided me of Southport and they def gave it the good ole collage try with hacking back to Friday the 13th's "hide the killer" way but they did a weak job of it as the killer is way too obvious and they spend one too many shots lingering on scenary then moving the plot along. It has a plot elelment that tries for supernatural and is forgotten striaght away. But the kills are decent and its good and way better then most Troma cheapies on the DVD rack but not up to their Toxic Avenfer standards.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
The horror is so watered down in this film its barely there and the effects are terrible but after a horrible 1st half the film redeems itself in the 2nd half with some decent action and the comedy helps as theres some great one liners. Passaible as a comedy and def watchable but theres better out there.
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
Another typical Peacock movie that fails on so many levels. Starts off on a bad note being based on a true story and then its throwaway acting, the direction takes WAY too long for anything to happen and even a patinet horror fan will be outraged how cheap and poorly done the effects are. They spend all their budget on the 1st 2 kills filmed in the dark so you barely see whats happening and didnt care about the rest. The ending is a sad saggy dog joke. Horror fans would be better off with Boo as thu low budget at least they made an effort unlike this film.
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
When Japanese films combine zombie, sci fi and action they def deliver. Def worth seeing with plenty of action and blood and gore galore plus the trademark charming Japanese Humor that def adds to the fun. Loved it
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
A decent ghost story with a neat hide and seek angle thats def worth seeing. Well acted and smoothly directed with some decent scare scenes and the ghosts are creepy in the Grudge style and some cool inventive and very gory death scenes. The ending is ironic but def befitting and tries to be different from the usual. Def worth seeing.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
I really enjoyed this. Its a cross between Last house on the left and Ms .45 about 2 cathlic girls who vist the wrong house at the wrong time. The acting is a mixed bag and the film is bascially half porn but when the horror elements come into plays its quite decent and plenty of violence with some nasty sexual violence including a scene that makes The Human centipede 2 climax look tame in comparasion. A pity a dumb ending spoils it but def worth seeing for grindhouse and underground movie fans.
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
Not bad and quite decent with an unusal twist on the Hansel and Gretel story but some bad acting and a terrible ending spoil it. Plenty of gory mayhem while it lasts.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
Another interesting idea but falls short. Im not a prude for blood and gore and enjouy such films but this film fails to explain anything like the ID of the killer, the reason why thu its breifly touched upon nor the lame ending which feels like they either gave up or ran out of money. The kills are mildly amusing and very bloody but next time a Storyline to go with the kills would be nice.Disapointing.

Wow such negitive reviews. I really enjoyed this and it is smartly written, acted and plenty of violence with a few sqirum inducing scenes. Def not Horror per say but an enjoyable Action flick.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
Not bad if viewed as a comedy but lacking decent action. way too much sex and the most fake death scene in Japan history on film. This is not even Horror and is mislabeled as such. More like a adult comedy with a touch of action at the start and end. Japan has had way better films then this.
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
A decent try and quite a good film. Well acted but the film makes the mistake of not only can past and present not touch but the hero would had dissolved the minute he killed his past self. Obvioulsy the director of this never seen Timecop of which is much better.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
I really enjoyed this as its an updated House of whipcord for the new generation. Well acted with some famior faces thu my only gripe is Tony Todd should have had more screen time. Rooker still looks game and has the Henry persona even in this film and the violence for the naster bits is more suggested not entirely showing the act but some blood and bitz making it harder to watch. Def worth a rental
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
Well as usual I fall in with my view on this and thu def no day of the dead it has copped a bad rap and it tries to be different going for the zombie view angle. Awesome gore and interesting storyline but too arty for its own good and dragged down by the budget and what is it when a gang of zombie killers who appear to know more then most people appear the most interesting and more so then Colin. I hope this gets remade with their version of the story as they made the film more then Colin did and I would be most interested where they got their knowledge and also where it went from after Colin.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
Better then expected and some decent acting with some gory kills but the film desends into Child's Play 2 sillyness at times and you really have to check your brain in at the door as some scenes really defy logic but its definately worth a view.
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
Despite the bad reviews and low budget I really enjoyed this as it was moestly acted and it certainly doenst dissapoint with the gore
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
Im a huge fan of low budget films even trashy ones so when this film fails to impress with its terrible acting, hard to understand accents and little to no violence and whats there looks fake with the most fake decaption ever put to screen. Its proff this film should had stayed buried overseas and not brought to Australia when so many worthy films ala Carver remain unrated here.
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
John Carpenter must had been bored or has lost his edge as this is so-so at best. Not bad but falls apart in the 3rd act with the most unbeliveable wrap up since April Fools day(86). Madhouse is way better or Carpenders earlier work esp. the thing
(Maybe) - review by Patricia

Not bad and decent action but mostly its hard to tell who's who and the ending was downright silly.

A brilliant film and def will make one think twice before pushing their luck twice on a free chair lift. Well acted and quite suspenseful with the best hand damage since Alien versus preditor in one scene. Quite gory in places when the viewer least expects it and a decent ending.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
An awesome follow up to bird with the crystal pumage and an outstanding performance by Malden who plays a blind man very well. The usual Aregneto trade marks and resonably violent kills but def entertaining and ends well.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
A good but not great film about a man whos lost his lover and the film comes across like Breakdown with a plot quite the same but doesnt have the suspense the Kurt Russall film had
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
A horrible Blair witch rip off crossed with the exorcism. Whereas The excorism and the exorcism of Emily Rose had a story of trumpet over evil this film is basicly made by blair witch fanboys that didnt understand the lure and the acting is dreaful, the direction slow and boring and nearly nothing exciting happens apart from a few bone breaks. The ending is as stupid as they come and comes across as a rip off of rosemary's baby without the class. Def one to aviod didnt like it sorry.
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
Decent but far feteched with unwanted martix style slow downs on the action and thu Roger Corman is a great director he really needs acting lessions as he talk in a robotic manner.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
I went in not expecting much and thu not as bad as most make out its a grim story and despite the decent premise it really dosnt go anywhere and could had been more action or horror packed. The mothers love for her daughter is touching but it never explains why grace was returned like the way she was and the husband of the mother in law was pointless as hes the most hen pecked man since Mrs bucket in keeping up appreances The ending is promising for a sequel and the film is good but not great.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
I wasnt a fan of the 1st despite Dieter's decent performance but Tom Six has upped the Anti by not only making the leading villian more appealing and better looking but also listioned to the fans of the 1st as well. A tubby and short man called Martin who is a fan of the 1st film and of whom is a victim of past and ongoing abuse decides he wants to outclass his idol with a larger centipede. Brilliant acting by all esp. Laurance R Harvey which this was his film debut and he does an amazing job and def he is promising talent for future films. Hopefully a heroic role. The direction is solid and filmed beautifully in black and white ala Dead man or Schinders List. But be forwarned as this is a VERY violent film and has a poop feeding at the end that needs to be seen to be belived. Since this was Originaly banned they had to trim 20-30 seconds but what they cut esp for any men watching the film will make the film easier to watch as it was fairly brutal and pointlessly cruel esp. towards any fans of the leading actor who would be upset seeing it. The ending is filmed so the viewer can decide what happened. A brillaint film and def worth renting for fans of the 1st as Tom Six really has come up roses on this little gem.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
Not bad but way too much stripping and not enough horror but it features a VERY funny chase and its funny on a "So bad its good" Level NOT Troma's worst but hardly their best either.

This is the worst clone of Saw ever made and it nearly put me to sleep. I didnt expect torture but at least more then terrible acting, the best actress getting bumped off WAY too soon. Oh no it would make the film too good if Duvall from the way better Ghosts of mars lived. Direction is horrible and they should had hit the villians ala Saw and it would had at least made it more suspenseful. And only one scene proved whjat it could had been. Boring and Saw and way better.
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
An awesome film well acted and directed. Frontiers was more brutal but this film proves torture flicks don't have to be pointless and dull as there was an interesting sub plot behind the story. It is however hard to watch in places.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
Horrible peacock film shows excactly NOT how to make a film. The acting is horrible and they pulled the classic "snag a star" as the villian from Saw was the drawing card here to attract to this. The direction is poorly done and some of the worst CGI ever put to film. Def one to aviod and Costas from Saw must had been desperate for the work.
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
This is very much a modernised Frankenstein of sorts with DNA instead of gothic fantasty. Well acted and directed and the effects are amazing but it does drop logic at times and resorts to monster on the loose near the end like it didnt know which way to jump but excallant and def worth seeing.
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
Excllant with great perforances from lopez, Bandaros and Sheen and its def a grim and eye opening film but sadly the ending is bittersweet and left open for a sequel despite being based on a true story.

A brillant tale of revenge starts off slow butgreat acting and carefully paced direction plus the film becomes a bloodbath when the abused turns terminator on her tomentors with decents kills and a decent yet mving ending makes this a winner.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
Not bad and well acted but a tad on the slow side and wraps up too fast.
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
Not a bad effort and so-so at best but the main character is unlikeable and terrible acting. The murders are well done and quite amusing if stomich turning.
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
The effects are decent and Lance Henriksen is always worth seeing but the film suffers from trying to be too clever and hip for its own good. And a setup for a part 3 which is not only unwanted but silly as well. Mildly enjoyable but not as decent as part one and needed Peter Weller instead of cheaply killing off his character with a cheap explanation.
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
A well made Sci fi with great acting and the Screamers are impressive with the CGI but it gets a tad silly with the plot twists near the end going agasint its own logic but a worthy view nonetheless.
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
An excellant film but it doesnt live up to the hype of graphic violence and too often the film wimps out at the worst of times. Brillant acting and very well written esp. about how the unpopular people felt but it could had been more hardcore as what they did was too nice for the way they were treated and they were too much a soft touch when they played the game whereas any hardcore punisher wouldnt had cared about who he tortured and aimed to kill.
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
This is the worst 70's film I have seen in a long time and it plays like a cross between a bad porno and a rip of of shaft near the end
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
Quite decent and saves the best to the final act but Crawlspace did it way better and had way more action. More a thriller ala fatal attraction then a Horror film but Swanks performance holds the film up well
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
A brillant 2nd sequel had me worried at 1st but with a new director and setting this entry breathes fresh air into the franchise. Brillantly acted and directed with heaps of exciting set piece, gory death and special effects. The tortures are inventive and exciting. Def worth seeing for horror and Hostel fans. LOVED IT.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
A decent attempt and of course for Blu Ray players the 3D is as decent as the last one but the film falls apart sadly in the 3rd act and even cheats on its rules but the film is well acted and has plenty of gory thrills for fans but seriosuly they should make part 6 the last before it really starts to fly off the rails.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
Another swing and a miss for Peacock films and I usually love low budget films but this is yet another pathetic example of not to promote a film esp. one that tries vainly and on a beer budget to copy the Shining. Acting and direction is bottom of the barrel and even for those who enjoy violence I suggest you walk on by and go for better as theres close to none here. The Twists ending is as stupid as they come
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
A brillant remake proves that not all remakes have to be poorly made rehashes of the Originals and since this is a remake of the 1960's film they had plenty to work with here with the glasses being the only link to the 60's movie. The recreeated story is about a family who gets an ulter cool glass house but are trapped in it with 12 ghosts intent on killing them. Brillant acting and its clear to see why Lillard went on to Scooby doo after this film as he had the basic material down for Shaggy even then. The direction sets up the action well with decent jump scenes and even a bit of drama and decent action. The Glass house is amazing as well as the CGI and some strong but not ovely gory effects. A decent ending as well. Def worth seeing or reseeing as this film is brill.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
Most would be put off by this and I do admit it tried to be Original and had an appealing villian but the laughs and film run out of steam in the 3rd act and it never really recovers with a lame climax and ending.

Not the best made for TV movie with a lover going to Hades to save his bride but facing the terrors of hell. The acting is so-so but the direction is blunted worse then usual for TV and many ideas esp how Hell is shown is wasted. the dogs look awesome and 2 stars on their own for professional CGI but they must had used the entire budget on the dogs and skipped the rest. A pity

Def A well made film about a couple who kidnapp the killer of their son and plan on torture games with him. Well acted by all and the direction is well done with intense scenes. Im suprised this level of violence didnt earn this a R18 as its quite a brutal film with the trademark fingernail removal and also the best foot crush put to film so toenails get a pop out as well but the silly and confusing ending put a small fault into the film and one too many flashbacks where one explaining all could had done but a decent horror film and horror fans should enjoy.
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
I never thought Pot zombies could be equeled for terrible films but this insult of a film tops it. A doctor goes after a vampire to stake him but the acting is horrible and the direction spends more time with the vampire humping everything that moves like a cheap porno laced with toliet humor then being a vampire. The effects are plentyfull and the miro budget was clearly spent on buckets of bargin basement paint to resemble blood and cheap giveaways at a slaughter house. The climmax is worse going for a strobe effect making it hard to watch. Def one to aviod unless you like poorly made films.
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
Not a bad film and its obvious its an American version of Man Bites dog but too much dumb comedy drags it down
(Maybe) - review by Patricia
Horrible film sounded like a vampire film but is really just an end of the world film about a holy relic Jack a photographer must protect from evil. Acting is horrible by all and the direction is slow and silly. Plenty of violence but The 1st Indy film covered this subject much better. One to aviod.
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
A brillant 1st seuqel to the 1st not only equels it but improves in some way on it. Being a fan of the 1st I was worried it would be terrible but 10 mins in and my fears are groundless as I really enjoyed this. Chromskull survives but after the people hes working for despite no mention in part 1 have a rouge helper who wants to be him and takes his prize from the 1st film cheating him out of a bounty he then goes after another chosen lady and with the last survivor they try to survive 2 killers in this film. Acting is well done. Direction is fast paced and darker then the 1st film in tone which is no mean feat as the 1st was quite dark in tone. They uped the anti in blood, gore and kills as they are not only more brutal but creative as well. I love the pinwheel pimping on Chroms weapon as in pimp my car but here its pimp my knife and the kills are impressive. A strange ending but part 3 will be welcome if made. Loved this and def a fan of horror and gore.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
I went in with low expections and was plesantly surpised by how excellant this is. A teen and her doctor are terriorsed by a stranger they hit. The acting is well done by all and Mimi Rogers shows she still has game as an actress in her short role. The direction like 5 across the eyes is set in the car but not stationed in it and is a def improvement. Theres a few decent set scenes and a few ghoulish moments showing the killer has a nasty sense of whimsy (the windscreen among others). The effects are decent and its violent without going overboard. My only gripe is a silly ending but its still worth a view for horror fans and its quite scary in places with some decent jump scenes.

OMG this movie rips off Paranormal Activty to the letter almost apart from a few changes and on even more a shoestring budget. A family is haunted by an unknown presance that gets more and more scary as it progresses. The acting is passible and thu the film dips into overkill esp. towards the end it has some nice scary scenes and the best walk on the ceiling since the remake of the fog but sadly it explains nothing and the part with the urn is pointless unless the foe hated the husband who passed on. Its so-so at best but there are better ghost films like Poltergeist despite the flashy telling and age of that film.

Quite decent and a couple of famior actors from past films stick out with passible acting but the plot simply tries to judge one too many monsters whereas one single thing or alien like alien would had worked and the alien effects look either cheap or a reject effect from stargate/farscape. Not one of ADO's best but far from their worst and is enjoyable on a popcorn level with decent carnage but ADO did better with Prowl and Husk.

Beautiful scenery and the classy acting of Ed Lauter who looks like a Stetson advert and has been in better lift this so-so thriller. They try to liven the last act up with graphic violence and the most goryest rock head bashing since Psychos in love but mostly the film is slow and preachy.

I really enjoyed this action/horror film. A group of strangers are trapped in a gas diner and has to fight people possesed angels. The protector of those in battle the archangel Micheal comes to help. Well acted by all and smooth direction. Plenty of action and quite violent and some of the possesed esp. the young lad have some great lines and they sound kinda creepy with the electric amped voices to make them sound otherwordly but I thought one scene that has them try to lure a victim out was more towards devil mischeif rather then Angels(inverted cross isnt usually what angels do unless they are really evil) Apart from that and an open ending and only tiny flaws the film is awesome and def worth seeing.

Def one of the Best After dark Original and is up there with Prowl and Husk. Two idential brothers have strange powers they use on their teen counterparts till one falls in love and a war begins. A detective investergates the strange deaths. Well acted by all and smooth direction plus plenty of blood and gore with inventive kills and quite graphic including the popular but ickly fingernail removal most horror seems to delight in showing in one scene. But oddly the synosis was a tad off as they arent Carrie and are more like Tamera or the demon of fear from Charmed in regards to their talents in using people fears against them but well done of that subject matter. A satsifying ending helps.

Awesome Indie flick inspired by Saw but oddly is restrained torture wise is about a man who kidnapps women to force them to love him and they are tortured when they dont comply. But he might have met his match as his latest prize is more intellangent then he bargined for. Acting is well done by all and the direction is smooth and aims for a different approach then Saw or Hostel not always aiming for the gore till halfway in and then it really cuts loose but more in slasher fashion then gorno style. Plenty of violence and quite gory for the MA15 rating so its good to know they push the boundries there. A satisfying ending helps a lot. Def worth a view for horror fans but others may not warm to it as much.

An excellant UK film about a teen called Matthew who starts seeing and hearing his missing brother after he disappeared but nobody else does. He tries to solve the mystery with the help of a love interest next door. Acting is well done and thu the direction is slow it changes gears halfway in and becomes better unlike some films which simply crash after emptying their bag of tricks. Some violence but nothing too gory and the film relies more on atmospehere then gore which helps a lot. My only gripe was it tries to be the 6th sense towards the end and doesnt wrap things up entirely but its still excellant and def one of Accents better efforts

This is a decent film and very much like The ring. Well acted and not very gory despite a couple of scenes and tamer then usual but the dumb comedy tends to drag it down and seems forced. But as a horror film its well made.

A brillant updating of a classic Romeo film bring the classic story kicking and screaming into the 21 century and works out very nicely. A town is conteminated by a virus that drives the people there into murderous killers and a sheriff and others try to escape but the military of whom this time are just as ruthless then the infected as they are trigger happy come in for damage control. Brillantly acted by all and smooth direction switches the viewpoint as the Original was the militarys side and in this remake its the townspeople's story of which helps the film as thu the Original was well made the military's side was a tad dull so no offense to fans of the Original there. Plenty of action and some really suspenseful moments with well placed jump scenes. Its violent but def not gory so def credit there despite most remakes going over the top to outgore an Original with some so its got the correct amount of violence without excess on todays blood, torture and goreathons despite the fact I enjoy those as well.A strange ending but hopefully a seuqel is in the works. Def worth a rental for horror fans.

It starts off well with a decent set up but sadly it falls apart in the 3rd act despite a clever twist at the end never really recovers. Its one of the better ADO's but nothing special and they could had been more creative with the kill scenes considering how brutal the main villian was in life. Its watchable but nothing special.

In a market of haunted house cheapies one would expect Fertile ground esp. a film endorsed by After dark films to be decent but sadly this is their worst. A couple is haunted by ghosts in their new home and the plotline rips off Seven days to live without the excitement, decent acting or effects. Do yourself a favour whoevers reading this as if your into haunted house films the Haunting or Seven days to live are far better choices here for that subject matter. So unless you are like me and are determined to see everything its best to skip this as even Scream of the banshee was better.

A strong Aussie cast, brillant acting and direction that not only crosses Pretty in Pink with Misery but also the theme of the film is loneyless for some of the cast and the airs they put on to find a partner but more often or not the connection simply isnt there. The film wisely aviods overkill on the effects and torture and uses sound effects to a convincing effect. They nearly spilled one plot twist into Lake Dead territory but wisely avioded it at the last minute which helps. An Awesome film and def proves Aussies make awesome horror films when they put in the effort. Best Aussie horror since Wolf creek and Stones of death.

I havent had fun with a horror film like this since horror channel in the UK. A group of Tourists go on a haunted tour boat ride and are picked off one by one by a local legend. Acting is top notich by all and a decent cast even the ones in tiny roles. The direction is smooth and has the best of Friday the 13th plus some cool Matrix style panning on some of the kills. The blood and gore flows like red wine and theres some decent kills including the best sanding since Bone Sickness. A strange ending but it was promised it would pick up in part 2 and make sense. Def recommend this to horror fans and I totoaly loved it.

I really enjoyed this. A banshee is unleased at a University and the ones who hear her have to figure out how to stop her before they fear gets to them. Decent acting and a novel premise of no screaming by the humans which hasnt been around since the Tingler. Just enough blood and gore to please the fans. Not as decent as Prowl or Husk with a strange open ending but def not far behind.

Mildly entertaining Aussie film cant decide if it wanted to be a haunted house film or Gaslight. The acting is strong and its nice to see a young and fresh faced John Jarret long before Wolf Creek but the film spends way too long setting up scenes and the fact they put the elderly in danger in this film was in bad taste. An amusing last 20 mins but it comes way too late by then. Passible but fans of Aussie horror can do much better.

A decent concept and some of the past regulars from other full moon films make cameo appearances like Jack Deth from future cop, the gingerdeadman and Jack from demonic toys but the film is mildly entertaining at best.

Quite a decent horror flick for a teen slasher and it tries to be different and is quite suspenseful but it falls off the rails in the last act and tacks on a strange ending.
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
I cant belive how terrible this film is. It not only feels like a badly thought out rip off of friday the 13th but the film comes across as contempt to horror fans as well and thats never a good sign. 4 friends are terriosed by a stranger with a bag over his head. Acting is dreadful and forced, the direction takes too long lingering on comedy that falls flat each and every time so as a comedy its not funny and even the horror is a major let down and then they decide to put in a really obvious plot twist that undoes the entire film. A waste of time. Do yourself a favour and rent the Friday the 13th series with a popcorn, a large coke and ice cream and forget this waste of rental space exists.

Awesome horror film takes the best ideas from Scarecrows and SL8N8 Night and comes across with their own twist on the formula to create a satidfying film. A group of friends break down on the way to a cabin and are hunted by killer scarecrows after they find a farm. The acting is decent and well done by all. The direction is smooth and makes the most of the limited setting with good jump scenes, drama and horror set ups. The scarecrows have a neat way of upgrading their fingers with metal nails and def adds a new meaning to "doing your nails" And theres even a decent zombie like angle to the storyline. The violence is graphic and nasty in places so horror and gore fans def apply there for this type of film. My only gripe is the strange ending which seems open for a sequel but like Prowl one wil lbe welcome if well made. Def worth a view for horror fans. Loved it.

Brillant horror film that takes its cue from 30 days of night and even feels like a side story of it. Amber wants to leave her hometown and with friends she leaves for the big city but they break down and a friendly trucker offers them a lift but things as not as they appear and they are trapped and hunted by creatures. Acting is well done for this type of film and the direction is smooth with a sense of doom within the slaughterhouse and a few well placed jump scenes. The effects are well done and its quite a gory film with enough blood and gore to please the fans myself included. Theres an ingenious twist in the 3rd act that most wil lfind strange and it tries to be arty with jump cuts of scenes not relevant to the storyline ala Angel and the way they changed scenes but apart from these small faults its def an awesome film and horror esp vampire fans should enjoy.

This prequel to the popular part 1 concentrates on the sister of the 1st lady in the film 2 months before their haunting happened. The acting is strong and the direction thu slow sets up the horror nicely. Not much in the way of violence but plenty of Jump scenes that are more noise then actural terror. The ending was as cheesy as they come. Hopefully Part 3 will improve thu part 2 was def an improvement on 1.

Awesome film about the a lady who gets kidnapped and trapped in a compound with other ladies while they are hunted by a killer whos bumping them off one by one. Brillant acting by all and it good see see Mr Napier after Mac-Clouds daughters sans Akubra Cooper Pedy but still looking awesome regardless and an awesome actor. The direction takes its cue from B.O.R.N but goes further then that and is smooth. Effects are passible. My only gripe is they write one character off too quickly and in an unconvincing way but apart from that small its def worth a rental.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Patricia
Decent acting and a fast pace helps but they spent too much time playing this scene for scene when it could had been altered a tad more and thu they up the gore elements and an impressive eye glow on Abby they lost the more touching and romantic elements present in the Swedish Original. But decent for a remake and theres far worse.

A talented youg cast breathes life into Wes cravens newest offering about 7 kids born to the night a local serial killer dies. But they are picked off one by one in gruesome fashion when the killer returns 16 years later. The acting is decent and the writing sharp with good lines plus a few decent kills but the supernatural angle is all out of place and it feels like Craven is trying too hard to recreate Scream despite his franchise still going. Not excactly the scream outdoer I hoped for but quite decent and better then if it was in lesser hands.

The French have some graphic films but this takes the cake for one of their strongest. A pregnaunt mother is home invaded by a strange lady and has to fight for her life as the stranger gleefully kills off anyone who tries to help her in gory ways. The acting is well done by all and since its a shorter then usual film it jumps stright into the action from the start and is top notich. This is def a very disturbing and gory film so it won't appeal to everyone and also its very exploitve using the most vaulable targeted victim one could imagine. The kills are impressive and one to hard to watch and will have any male protecting themselves in a fear relex. My only gripe is the film has a cynincal and nasty ending and it might be better if remade but def a film worth seeing and horror and gore fans should have a blast seeing this.
(Excellent) - review by Patricia
For a sequel it follows the Original fairly closely and str8 after part one which helps a lot. The brother of the Original victim follows the surviving female werewolf with her taste for rare meat to her leader where we others its a fight of Good vs Evil. The acting is well done esp. by Lee and Sybil shows off her assests. The film even puts members of a romaian socity in as extras during a festal which was kind of the film makers to do as they look like they are having fun. The direction shows respect to the 1st film and is well done for the low budget but my only gripe is the obvious steroform heads during some of the violent scenes and repeated Lazy werewolf stock footage that makes the film somewhat cheesey. Also has a decent punk group to provide the songs. But despite this is the only sequel worth seeing as after this they got much worse plus the ending is puzzling. Horror fans should enjoy.

They couldnt had made it much worse. I have seen some terrible vampire films in my day but apart from the sunlight this couldnt be any further from vampires as Twilight was but at least Twilight had the love story to back it up. This has Nothing going for it. 2 lovers run away from a crime one committed and for no ryhme or reason they are changed into vampire like creatures but one turns on the other and a war begins. This isnt as decent as I make it sound trust me on that. The acting is terrible esp. Monk who cant act her way into a soap commecial without making mistakes and fans of Compton from Mirror Mirror and Napier will be disappointed they have tiny roles and are poorly underused. The direction tries for From dusk to dawn but throws in a needless God Angle and its just a killing spree thats low budget and even the violence is boring. In one scene one victim's head settles after being shot in the head and from his facial expression he's trying not to laugh. An open ending doesnt help either. Vampire fans could do way better with Blade or from dusk till dawn or even the 2nd or 3rd Lost boys film but def aviod this.

Ok Sorry to buck ther trend here but despite Tom Arnolds acting this film is a train wreak. Ok I didnt expect CGI nor flashy effects but then again I enjoyed the Original 1963 The Haunting which had the exact amount of violence and was far more entertaining then this rubblish. A man moves into his Aunt place after her death and is slowly convinced the place is haunted. He teams up with a Psychic to get to the bottom of it. The acting is uneven and if the film had Tom Arnold in the lead role it might had worked better as he was the best of a bad lot. The lead is annoying and makes the viewer want to throw him out a window head 1st as he is so stuck up he should be walking around with a book on his head. The direction is half baked starting up a decent set up and then its like they change their mind halfway thu. Very little blood and gore despite the MA15+ rating so if they were not interested in showing blood at least they should had made this scary and suspenseful which its not. And Is it Original??? the short and sweet answer is "no" Tales from the crept did shorter stories like these and were far better back in the 70's. This would had worked better as a short film as its more shallow then a infants wadding pool and horror fans could do better with the haunting in Connecticet or even the 1963 version of the Haunting(not the cheesey 1999 version).

Not Bad and tries hard but Sequels are never true equels mostly apart from a few excepetions and this direct to DVD take a good stab at trying to equel the 1st but fails. Stella from part one hunts down the Queen vampire who caused the invasion in the 1st film and is joined by other like minded souls. They didnt bring any Original cast members back and despite that the acting is only so-so. The direction has some mildly amusing action and over the top gore but the film falls apart towards the end and tacks on one of the most shaggy dog endings in film history and is cheesey as any low budget 80's horror flick in that way. Decent effects and heaps of gory violence makes this mildy amusing but a strong storyline would had helped. Its passible but horror fans could do much better.

World of Horror isnt a film per say but 2 docos on Dario Argento. One is pointless showing clips from films and how they did it but VERY little on the director's life. The one in the bonus features is a def improvement docomenting Argento's life with interviews from past cast members of his films today but any Argento film in the Umberella range carries this as a bonus feature anyway. The 2 star goes to Eye for Horror which I found way better then World of horror which has not aged well. Even those who say "well they show bitz cut from the films" doesnt wash today as they are complete and uncut on DVD. Its a passible time filler but def not a straightforward doco on Dario's life which would had been more fasinating then a "how we did it" video on effects.

A decent pre halloween release 7 years before that film was made and is def worth seeing for Horror fans but it leaves a lot to be desired. On an Island bay people are killed one by one in gory and inventive ways by a prowler or is it only one killer? The acting is well done by all but the direction has one too many plot twists and one too many killers making it silly towards the end. The kills are awesome and def inspired later slasher films and this is the most goryest film by Brava with the biggest bloodletting for a R rated 1971 film at the time making it groundbreaking on that alone. The ending is awesome and ironic. Def worth seeing but they improved on the concept in later films.

This is not so much badly made it's just plain flat and underdone. Troma usually makes fun low budget gore fests but this must had been a lazy day for them. A gang takes over a beach and when a man is killed the mother takes revenge. Sound good? Well its anything but. The acting consists of posing in their fancy future costumes and endless talking and enough to makes this a Troma All Saint's where it mostly for the 1st hour is all talk and no action. Terrible acting by all and the only actress Boby Breese is hardly in it and she was in quite a few decent horror flicks at the time and is the only name actor there. The direction is slow and mostly is talking in long slow diologes that tests the viewers patinence. A bit of violence but mostly its long set ups for action that wimps out or looks fake. What little blood there is wouldnt fill an infants medience cup. Its not the worst and some may enjoy but theres better Troma films and future action films like the Bronx warriors '90 for the fans to enjoy. Def forgettable.
(Don't bother!) - review by Patricia
This is def no night of the living dead or even Bone sickness but Troma tried to make a very funny so good its bad films its hard to dislike this film and unlike Pot Zombies it acutally has a plot. Mountain people find a barrel of toxic waste and when they drink it they turn into pasty faced zombies with terrible makeup effects. The acting is over the top but likeable characters make up for it but the tobbacco man goes a tad too far acting like an anti chewing advert more then a character plus he has a slow drawn out dark vader voice thats hard to understand. The direction plays the film for comedy which helps as its unintentally funny and I never laughed harder in places. Plenty of blood and gore but it all looks fake. A passible film but zombie fans could do worse if they are after a comedy but for a serious zombie film they could do way better.

A resonable effort but since this is a cross between Mirrors and The Ring one gets the feeling they are holding back at times or its simply the low budget of the film. A town is cursed with suicides but things are not as they seem as the victims appears to be hunted by something before it happens. Decent acting by all and the leading teen is appealing and def shines. The direction starts off well and gets very dark and creepy in places but the film falls on dated ideas about wicca and highly unlikey as they follow "Harm none". The religious angle is well overdone and they should had dwelled more on the positive side of things. The deaths are decent but seen before and done way better but they are still quite well done with a decent lead up but sadly often a weak payoff at the end of each. The ending cries sequel despite the events but it would be welcome. A good but not great film but watchable and horror fans should enjoy.

A fine wrap of an brillant series that I seen in both 2D and 3D and the 2D version wins out there as oddly unlike The final destination and My Bloddy valetine they only showed 3D at key points but impressive despite that. A survior is targeted by Hoffman as he is a threat like the others and let the games begin. The acting is well done by all and its a welcome return to Doctor Gordon as the internet was really asking endlessly what happened to him from part 1. The direction is smooth and shows the best traps yet and some are downright flesh crawlers. Awesome speical effects and blood and gore galore. My only small gripe is despite them saying its the last they left a small window for a sequel and hopefully nobody will take it but the film is a befitting end to the Saw series and horror fans should enjoy.

I often wondered why this was banned but after seeing it its clear that is a porno film masked as art. The same could be said for Salo but at least Salo had slightly more plot then this. A Gesia lady has an obessive sexual relationship with a man she cannot get enough of. The acting is strong and def deserves this 2 stars but the film is basicly one sex scene following the next making me feel like I was watching a Japanese porno. The man couldnt do it that many times in a day making it highly unlikely and also she would had been pregnant at the end of it all. The sex is the most graphic I have seen outside of an X rating and all that was missing was gyographic close ups of the action. What made the film banned was in the 3rd act they threw in the sinister art of chokeing sex which came across as disturbling suggestive and also the last 5 mins was downright gross and I dont shock easy but this outmatched I spit on your graves bathtub scene. A mildly interesting film and humerous in one scene with a guy in a fedora hat but there are far better Japanese films around.

I was quite disappointed after reading the rave reviews on this. The film tries too hard to be an earthbound Event Horizon but without that films class. An officer goes to investergate a drilling rig but there is more then meets the eye there with the place and the lone survior he finds there. The acting is strong and helps this a lot but the direction after a decent start becomes unfocused and doesnt know if its horror or thriller. Some violence and blood and gore but nothing inventive nor outstanding. The ending is downright silly. Thriller and horror fans could do far better then this as its a mess of a film and barely watchable.

A decent horror movie and alomost at 5 stars but small flaws fold this back. A young guy whos brother was killed comes back to his hometown and the death links to someothing his father and friends had done in their youth and an angry ghost wants them all dead. Te acting is 1st rate and thu Astare doesnt dance in this he still shows he was a brillant actor even in his final film. The others perform equally as well. The direction is well paced but a tad slow and tends to bog down in backstories even if it helps bulid a story. The biggest flaw is the filmakers still dont understand what a ghost is and the villianess turning corporial is downright silly as if she could become like flesh then whouldnt she be alive then and it would make the story pointless. She even demonstrates shes a ghost in one scene making it more true to ghost lure ala Ghost ship. The effects are well done by the same guy who did the howling and theres quite a few jump scenes esp. the scary parts. But despite these small flaws the film is excellant and horror fans should enjoy as this is the best ghost story thus far apart from Boo.

Not a bad attempt at a remake but come across more as a Chucky movie more then anything else with a baby replacing a doll even thu the baby resembles a doll in places with the CGI. A couple have a baby but due to an attepmted abortion by the mother the baby becomes a flesh eating killer. The acting is well done but the storyline not only has a dumb explanation for the kid's behaviour but also trys to hide the monster too much and whats shown looks cheesey. Decent kills help bt the monster is as cheesy CGI wise so much one wishes they kept it hidden. A strange but downbeat ending as well. A decent try and theres worse remakes so Horror fans could do worse then see this.

Out of all the true life crime stories this is based on one of the more infamous ones thus it couldnt be faithfully shown due to the MA15+ rating and even R18+ would had been a tough sell but they made a halfway decent effort. The story is about a serial killer/cannibal and his last crime that got him caught. The acting is well done by all but a speical mention to the guy who played the dective as he does an awesome job. The direction sets up the 1920's well and more then enough fedoras and other styles of that time plus realistic fashions and attitudes true to the 20's helps a lot but they watered down the more nasty elements of Fish and should had at least if not shown but at least explored them in an Adult manner but here they got shy or too self aware and backed away. The film plays more on character then gore and thats welcome thu bits of gore thu tame for MA is def here. The film nonethless is quite fathful but needed more teeth to make the impact but its still a decent and watchable film and thriller fans of true crime should enjoy.

An awesome Aussie horror film takes the concept of dingos and uses it effectively in this horror film. 6 friends go to a rare rock painting but when one accidently awakens an anchinet evil it infects the water nearby and one is turned into a dingo cannibal after a swim that attacks the others for food and to feed its master in the cave. The acting is well done by the leads but some of the supporting cast are average to awful in a cheesey kind of way. The direction sets up the action well with suspenseful scenes, moving drama moments and very gory bloodshed. The effects are well done on the low budget but this is a very strong film loaded with blood and gore plus some graphic deaths so anyone who is not into bluckets of blood and gore better sticks to the golden oldie films as once the blood start to fly it never lets up. A decent ending helps a lot as well. Def recommended to horror fans and this film is proof that Aussie horror can be decent when we put more then half an effort in.

Being a fan of the 1st 2 films I found after the awesome part 2 they had a lot to try to top and thou it doent quite match part 2 its closer to part one and def more then a decent attempt. The last remianing cannibal from the 1st two films fisishes off a small group of teens bar one and then targets a busload of prisoners during a transfer where they take the old Mill road to aviod an escape happening. The acting is a mixed bag with the leads acting well but some terrible acting support wise. The direction follows on from 1 and 2 nicely with refs linking it as a sequel and the action is well done but they throw 2 many poorly done CGI deaths in that look horrible and more funny then scary. The effects score best with old skool effects but the CGI is overdone and more show off like then blending into the story. Some decent deaths. My main gripe is the ending is downright strange and makes one wonder if any more are planned but despite that this is an excellant worth and horror fans should enjoy.

An excellant film that is well done but sadly has one small flaw that stops it from greatness. A group of students go to a church to study an anchinet vital of green liquid find out that its alive and they are possessed and killed off one by one. The acting is well done by all and a special mention to Donald pleasance who plays the priest very well. The direction is like a cross between The evil dead with Lost souls style trappings and is a solid film with well set horror scenes and the effects are impressive for pre-CGI by 3 years. The film ends on an uncertain note but this is due to a misunderstanding of a concept and plot point which is voiced by the characters as any Terminator fan would point out and makes one wonder where they were going with this as it never really pans out but its a decent good vs evil film and horror fans should enjoy.

An excelant film that was def unexpected and def forfilled my wish to see Sean Bean in a heroic role as he was def underused in Lord of the Rings. A group of holu knights along with a novice monk go to a village that is rumored to be run by a necromancer and a witch. They get more then they bargined for. Acting is well done by all but this is def Sean Beans glory as he steals the show and does a fine job doing so building on the Lord of the rings style of character but a good guy this time. The direction is well balanced with decent action scenes, drama and a touch of horror but it only uses horror mildly so this is more an action film then horror. My only gripe is at the end it feels like they made 2 films and set up one character to be a mark of the devil styled character in the end. It would be welcome if they continued his story as his story would make a fine spin off of this story. Def worth a rental and view for action fans and horror fans should enjoy the horror elements present in the story.

Quite a decent film and a fair try at Blade but the film has a few flaws stopping it from being brillaint as Blade. A vampire hunter goes up agasint his brother who is a vampire Master and plans on a major bloodletting at an abandoned factory. The acting is a mixed bag with Madsion coming out the best and suits a Stetson very nicely. The others are fair to middling. The direction does away with vampire lure and aims more for blade style action but suffers taking everything vampire lured about it. The film is filmed in dawn like room with glare or black and white which really is annoying as ok they thought it was Original but it makes the low budget more obvious. Heaps of action and strong violence with a bit of torture thrown in as an afterthought but the ending is open making one wonder if sequels are the idea. Not a bad film and its quite good and horror fans into vampires and action fans could do far worse.

A brave try but this short story doesnt work as a feature film. A couple get a strange box from a stranger and if they use the box they get a million but a stranger dies but all is not what it seems. The acting def deserves this 2 stars as its well done acepet diaz sounds fake with a southern accent like someone taped over her voice. Langella comes off best thou he was better in Brainscan. The direction starts off well but it gets more and more silly till it falls apart at the end. It comes across as they were making it up as they went and they never explain anything. Nothing speical effects wise apart from a cool water effect so the film is quite tame. An average movie at best and horror fans can do much better then this as I found it more frustrating then entertaining.

Better then the usual effort that was going on at the time with a Monster boom in the early to mid 2000's but falls short because of a few flaws. A croc/dino combo escapes and a park ranger and others try to stop the creature before it kills off a beach resort. Acting is well done but the guy who is trying to imatate an Aussie is forced and sterotypical. Perhaps getting a real Aussie actor might had helped. Pacula is given very little to do apart from look catty and deny everything and her talent is clearly wasted here. The CGI monster is impressive but apart from a few gory set pieces most of the action is off screen cheating the viewer. And theres one too many endings plus a silly and unlikely ending. A watchable film but there are better creature features but also far worse so one could do worse then rent this.

For a Sci fi channel film this is really a cut above the rest and is fun to watch in a Jaws kind of way. A shark/octopus hybrid's controller malfuntions and the creature goes on the rampage killing all in sight. The daughter of the man who created it and a marine try to stop it before everyone gets chomped. The acting is very well done and the direction balences out the action, comedy and drama rather nicely. Awesome CGI and an impressive CGI monster with plenty of blood and gore. Def worth a view for horror and sci fi fans.

As horrible as the last 2 films I seen but at least this film has some hands on action thu cheaply done. A strain of piranha escapes and mankind is put at risk as these fish grow in size. The acting is terrible and the direction shoves cut scenes into the action to be annoying plus the film reeks of cheapness and scenes repeated over and over with cheap 50 dollar sets but the one star I gave it is because the film has moments that are so stupid one cant help but laugh. Its the "so bad its good" factor that stopped me falling asleep unlike the other two but its a total bomb despite that and sci fi fans deserve better.

This is an unwanted sequel to Mega shark vs Giant Octopus and is just as horrible as the 1st one. The shark from te 1st film takes on a giant croc and the battle is on again for mankind. The same terrible acting and horrible direction is still there with no name actors and thu they reduced the repeating scenes they are still shown. One blondie lady early in the film is one of the worst actresses ever put on a low budget production. Her acting would be frowned upon in an Adult film as she cant deliver a line without stammering. They tried for a few human attacks but you see almost nothing and very little blood. This is bascily Freddy vs jason with animals and a beer budget. Fans of match ups are better off watching Neo Geo Wild as even That is more exciting then this waste of time and rental.

One of the worst Sci fi films I have seen in a long time. It doesnt reach Pot zombies but comes close. A shark and octopus is unleashed and the humans race to save the world. Dreadful acting, horrible directin that shows more human action then creature. There are scenes repeated over and over with the creatures attacks and chases and the same cheap set is used for a sub and a battleship. Even those looking for the 2 title creatures to show carnage will be disaapointed by the very brief attack scenes and lack of action. Even the shark vs octopus is basicly 2 scenes the same with a slight difference with the worst CGI ever seen. It makes Lake Plaid 3's blurry CGI look like Lord of the rings. And that scene with the shark taking out an Airplane? And they say Horror is far fetched. That scene is def pure cheese there and deserves an Oscar for cheeseyness. Sci fi fans are better off looking at other match up films of this kind as this garbage is bargin basement material. How could they mess up such a great concept???

A brillant example to other filmakers that remakes shouldnt be less then the Originals. Being a fan of the 1st I watched with serious doubts but they were forgotten as this remake improves on the Original in so many ways. A writer goes to a cabin but she is raped by 5(4 in the Original) thugs including a Cop. She then gets revenge on her attackers one by one. The acting is well done by all and the new lead equels Camile from the Original and looks quite the same. The direction is 1st class and updates the story for todays times(cell phones, computers etc etc) and is well paced with even a few tense scenes and extra plot twists and theres never a dull moment. The film mirrors the 1st plus adds new ideas that work nicely. But this is a VERY graphic and hard to watch film. The rape scenes are not as graphic as the 1st but they added more to it and the kill scenes are really brutal and even torture is added to the mix. Awesome effects, creative kills and a lot of blood and gore should please the fans. A satisfying ending as well. Def for fans of the Original film and horror fans should enjoy this. Loved it so much I glad I bought a copy.

A disappoiting and silly movie that held so much promise but it falls apart halfway in and resorts to very silly slasher to prove its point. Two friends visit the crush one has on a teacher but they walk into 3 hackers trying to hack into the vatian. Things go wrong and they are locked in with one who has gone mad and attacks the others killing them one by one. The acting is passible and in a workman like manner. The direction starts off well and this film could had re-invented the Divinci code but it falls into far fetched slasher which cheapens it when it could had simply been a decent thriller. Plenty of kills but nothing decent and seen before in better films. The ending is downright silly and an open free for all . Thriller fans will feel short changed by the serious turn in the middle and Horror fans will find this mild. Not horrible but nothing wonderful either.

A powerful film thats sadly overlooked by In the relm of the senses had a classy setting and showcases the best of Japanese cinema very nicely but a few flaws stop it from 5 stars. A lady cheats on her husband with a younger man and after things get complex they decide to kill the husband but it appears his ghost comes back to punish the unfaithful lovers. Strong acting by all and smooth direction that blends in beautiful Japanese scenry with Lush forests and pure white snow but the horror elements could had been downplayed better for Psychological terror plus the makers of the film forget ghosts cannot touch anything as they are not corporal and like Katty from Ghost ship their hands would go thu things so they took the Ghost concept on this but even then he didnt have the emotion in order to do things like Swayze's charater did. The sex is less steamy then most flicks of this kind but makes its point. The film ends well and these are only minor flaws but fans of Japanese horror should enjoy.

Out of the based on true stories that have flooded the market and usually from directers who forget they are shown up better on CI Channel on any pay TV network this one is a slight cut above the rest. A film crew interviews the friend of an infamous killer/cannibal and the film shows his last crime oddly instead of showing his life story. The acting is passible but Klaus who everyone loved as Leo from Charmed is even hard pushed here despite his talent making one wish he was in better films esp. his fans. The direction sets up the story well but stupidly throws in cut away news scenes which throws the pace. I understand they went for a new angle but it doesnt click and becomes very annoying. Plenty of blood and gore and this one is thus far the most brutal with gory killings, torture and even an impressive eyes pop with baseball bat much like breaking a bottle with someones palm except its a bat and a head but it comes more across as a gory side show then an interesting study into the mind of a distubed man and the way he pops out of nowhere in front of victims has Sorority House massarce printed all over it as in silly factor. It makes one wonder if he could teleport. The twist ending is so predictable even I guessed it and Im no expert at doing that. An average thriller but there are way better out there for Thriller fans.

A good but not great horror film from 1964 tells the tale of a man who is haunted by his 1st wife who comes back as a black cat. Or so it appears as things as not as they seem. The acting is well done by all and Price gives his usual professional performance. The direction starts off well but gets more and more muddled in the 3rd act and resorts to animal cruelty towards the end which is def unexpected for a PG film and may be upsetting for cat lovers. Being one myself I could tell when a fake was used but it still was hard to take. Not much violence and very much on a TV show level but the ending was silly. Not a bad film and def watchable and horror fans should still enjoy.

For an early remake this is one of the best and Corman delivers updating the storyline for the 60's crowd but keeping it classic in the 1930's style. A power hungry and murderous man kills and tortures his way to the throne but is haunted by the ghosts of those he killed. Price steals the show but with his charming good looks and smooth delivery of lines he makes the film a pleasure to watch and the film would had suffered if in the hands of a lesser leading actor. The others all act equaly as well and it all holds together well. The direction is smooth and plays out the story very nicely with great drama scenes and thu ghosts are present and theres a few tense scenes the drama between Price and ghosts is handled with restraint and doesnt always go for the Boo factor that most ghost stories do. For a PG film theres quite a bit of violence and even torture even thu theres no blood apart from a few drops here and there and they are more for story purpose unlike todays bloodfests so I found that very impressive esp. from Roger Cormon whos later films really piled on the cheese. A satisfactory ending helps as well. Def worth seeing for fans of old school horror where a story, acting and atmosphere mattered more then a body count and is def welcome as any true horror fan would no doubt see the classics to respect how they used to be.

This is one of the most inventive Westerns I have seen in a long time and it breaks sterotype mixing comic book style action into it as well as The crow like elements. A bountry hunter is hired to stop his former boss who killed his family and scarred him before he destroys the world. Along the ride is his connection on earth. Acting is brill by all and I barely reconised Brolin from the Amityville horror and the guy who plays burke is def an evil John Steed with the moves to match(he wears a derby hat). The direction mixes western, action and comedy very well and the action is fast paced and the film doesnt have a dull moment. There are horror elements with the hero being able to talk to the dead but its only a mild element in the plot. Awesome one liners and drop dropping action that never lets up. Plenty of comic book/western styled violence but it never goes over the line into bad taste and on an Indiana Jones level. The film hints at a sequel which if well made is def welcome. An awesome film Western and action fans should enjoy. Loved it.

A brave try and an interesting look at the last of the swinging 60's but this sexual thriller cant overcome its low budget. A trumpet player finds the body of a lady on the beach and she comes back for revenge on the people who killed her. The acting is passible and some big names for a low budget production at the time including Dennis Price and Klaus Klinski but they are poorly used in the film and are hardly in it. The direction showcases the last of the 60's nicely with some sweet jazz/pop music, psycadelic images and classic fashion but it bogs down drawing out scenes that try to be sensal but end up being corny like a bad oversexed Avengers throwaway. Even The Avengers knew things can be hinted at for max affect without going overboard. Very little violence and more focused on the sexual side of things but what gives this 2 stars is the lovely Rio caraval shots that are more interesting then the plot and showcases Rio nicely and a niffty Twist at the end of the plot that pre-dates the 6th sense by 30 years or more. A mildly interesting erotic thriller but thriller fans might enjoy seeing this as a collectors item but they could do way better.

An excellant 1st sequel to Mirrors doesnt quite match up to the Original and tries to be more like a side story then an actural sequel as its unrelated to part one apart from the store and the mirrors. A security officer on the opening of the Mayflower starts to see a mysterious lady in the mirror and one by one his co workers start to die in gory yet inventive ways by their own reflection taking a life of their own. He tries to solve the mystery. The acting is well done by all but the direction overlooks Jacks story and tries too hard to distance itself from part one and goes more for a The Ring type of storyline being more focusied on one person rather then multipue ghosts like the 1st did, Its decent for what it is and comes across as a stand alone storyline. The violence and deaths are more extreame and way more graphic then part one with plenty of blood and gore plus some cool death scenes with some quite hard to watch. Awesome mirror effects and they used the same ideas from part one so any fans of one should reconise the famior setup here. The film does have a strange ending making one wonder if part 3 is in the pipeline but if it connects with Jacks character then its def welcome there. Horror fans should enjoy this.

Time has not been kind to this film and along with Student Bodies it has failed to compete with Werewolf films and recent ones as of late. I understand they tried to update I was a teeage werewolf but even then it fails to grasp that was a film played str8 and only come across as bad. This film is simply terrible with the worst acting apart from one cool chap in a bowless fedora who gets thrown down and even todays target viewer for this film would be simply only wanting his hat for the fashion collection of today. The rest all fail badly. The humor is forced down the viewers throat and 90% of the jokes are tired , racist or plain obvious. I have gotten more laughs out of Mash and Hogans heroes. Any werewolf after violence will be put off by the terrible werewolf effects that make a man in a ape suit look more realistic and the attacks arnt even shown ripping off the ones who expected Horror. Def a film to aviod as Horror fans could do better with Wolfen or An American werewolf in London that came out the exact time this was made.

Another troma film but unlike Pot zombies this is entertaining in the Toxic avenger style. A serial killer is killing off member of a film crew and the crew bands together to stop him. The acting is terrible but fun terrible being done over the top in a silly yet funny way played for humor unlike most str8 played films of the same kind. The direction is all over the place but has some awesome smutty jokes plus one joke that puts Austin powers to shame with the coffee sample going a bit further with that. The screen is awash with blood and gore. Ok the deaths look fake and overdone but they are entertaining on a Troma level and are played for the gross out not the realism. The film ends well but the lack of direction plus a tad too silly takes away a star but def worth seeing for horror fans into silly horror/comedy self refing films.

Well this film is the worst I have ever seen and nothing will ever top how terrible this is. Its not doesnt even have a storyline. Just short stories of people getting high and killing all those around them in unconvincing ways. Dreadful acting, lack of story and fake effects make this one stinker. I usually say more then this but this pile of poop has left even me a lover of low budget cheesey horror flicks at a lose for words. Horror fans do yourself a favour and watch either Night of he living dead or any Lucio Fulci zombie flick and if you must go Troma rent the toxic avenger and thu the soundtrack is decent music fans would be way better off getting the tunes on their Ipad or on their faves on You Tube. Def one horrible disaster to be avioded. The only bright side Thank God its short(50 mins despite of whats on the page).

An excellant subway horror film thats head and shoulders over most terrible efforts in this gene as the plot has actural thought esp. towards the mutant in the film. A young Londoner called Kate goes off to try to get up close and personal with George Cloony but after failing to catch a cab she takes the subway but she falls asleep and wakes up to find herself in a nightmare and is hunted by a mutant in the tunnels. Well acted by all esp. Potente and the direction sets up the premise well with decent horror set ups and it even goes for a bit of heart in one scene where the villian not only shows intellenge but also reverts to memory of what he has seen his father do as a surgeon. Plenty of blood and gore plus some great kills and also a lot of rats for lovers of those out there. My only grips are the monster has an annoying bat like shrek that grates on the nerves and it would had made him more scary if he didnt do that plus the ending is uncertain making one wonder if there is anymore like the monster as 3 cribs were clearly shown. But the film is def recommended to horror fans and is worth a view and rental.

Oh My goodness I knew Troma loved making low budget Junk and they have some decent films e.g. The toxic avenger but I never would had thought they would stoop this low. Kids are being taken in the woods and come back as cannibals and the adults band together to stop them. The acting by a no name cast is the worst I have seen yet with the most forced acting in horror movie history. They dont say their lines they spit them at the camera like they were bored and wanted a paycheck of which wouldnt amont to much as this is mirobudget. The direction tries to rip off children of the corn mixed with Beowolf lines said by the kids and fails badly as the action is so fake. Even WWE's faked fights seen real compared to this. Plenty of blood and gore but it looks more like they broken a ketchup bottle and its all fake but the worst crime this film commits is the climax of which was aimed to shock esp. parents so a def heads up there as its not only grim but aimed at kids as well. They tried to ban this in Australia but I wouldnt say for the violence but it should had been banned for how terrible it is. Def one to aviod unless you like seeing brutalty done at the end and even then thats so fake as well(they breathe while lying down suppostly dead).

In the late 90's to early 2000's Horror invoving abandoned ships started to come into horror and this being a late entiry is def the best. A slavage crew goes out to bring in a luxury liner and finds that not only is the ship haunted by killer ghosts but a greater evil is behind it all. Brillantly acted by all esp Dibs who proved herself with E.R and fares nicely here as well. A special mention to the young actress who plays Katey as she def has a promising future as an actress. The rest perform equally well. The direction sets up a decent premise but has plenty of twists and turns and plays on the Death ship premsise nicely taking up the silly factor that film had and the film plays the horror and drama scenes out evenly. The CGI effects are def a showstopper with plenty of awesome effects and some decent kills. My only gripe is the strange ending but of course a sequel is def welcome. Def recommneded to horror fans as the film is def worth seeing.

Usually when a film gets trashed by others on Big Pond movies I often judge the film for myself and usually end up enjoying it but sadly they were right about this waste of time. An annoying couple go around the desert taking pictures and having sex every chance they get. What the synose doesnt tell you is that they ripped off the mob and were escaping to 29 palms. It ends badly in the end. The acting is a joke with bland performances and overacting on the sex scenes. The direction is as slow as a snail's pace and often the film stays on a scene for a good 2 mins before moving on. It doesnt sound long but often feels longer. The sex is steamy but also badly acted and overdone and even comes across as funny more then sexy. A bit of sexual violence near the end but nothing too horrible and the ending is the worst to date being illogical and feels like they filmed it, chopped it into pieces and put random scenes in. Def one to be avioded as its more thriller then horror and even thriller fans have way better solft core thrillers like Basic Instinct or Sliver with Sharon Stone and Alec Baldwin of which both are better then this sexathon film.

An excellant updating of the 1930's horror film comes kicking and screaming into the 70's with a more adult approach. A young man sells his soul for youth but finds out youth is not the holy grail its made out to be and he becomes a preditor. Well acted by all and the direction sets 1970's UK out very nicely but the plot is very slow moving even thu there's quite a few awesome looking set pieces. The film is more into the sexual side then the horror side so the R18+ is def solid for the many sex scenes and nudety. Those expecting a lot of violence will be put off as theres very little but the storyline is more focused on character, great acting and atmosphere then gore. My only small gripe is the anti hero is very vain and unlikable and its hard to side with him but despite that its a decent horror film and horror fans should enjoy esp. those of old school horror.

This is the worst sequel I have ever had the displeasure to watch. Afer the brillant part 1 I heard that they were bringing back Bronson, Farley and Austin for the sequel but after all the hype and changes to the script they released this mess. 30 years into the future Jobe after escaping plans on rebuliding the world in his image and Peter and friends must stop him. The acting is not so much bad just bland and thu Bergin is a great actor hes clearly no subsitute for Bronson and they had to take the most minor character from part one to return. Its sad to see fewer act so badly and Farely hes def not. He talks in a monodrome that is annoying as a dripping tap. The direction is a joke and proves the director of this film ever never seen part one or simply trashed the storyline using VR as an excuse for bad storytelling. They used the entire budget on flashy VR effects and had a monkey write the script for a banana. The VR is impressive but even that cant save this film that clearly doesnt understand part one esp the ending of which Jobe couldnt possibly be alive much less in 2 places. Def one to aviod as its a clear cash in on part one and us Lawnmowerman fans demand a remake with Piece Bronson, Jeff farly and the Original idea as that would had worked Way better.

Quite a decent film but it could had been so much better. A scientist and her parnter use a memory lie detor on a killer and find out theres more to him then meets the eye. The acting is well done by all esp. Hopper who plays his best role since Blue Velvet and Easy rider. The direction is well paced and wisely leaves the more gory stuff till the 3rd act where things really pick up. The effects are well done and the violence is quite gory later on. The film however falls apart towards the end trying to be too supernatural and trips over its own logic more then once but its an above average film and def worth a view for horror and Hopper fans.

I cant belive how terrible this film is. Films like this give horror an unwanted and bad reputation of all being like this of which is untrue thu its not as King bad as a Uli Lommel film its def deserves zero stars as its more pointless and dated. A lady recording the sub vampire culture finds a real vampire and falls in love with her. But her killings could end this. Terrible acting by no name actors come across more as posers then actors as none of them can act, the direction throws the vampire rule book out the window ala Night Junkies and plays like Sex lies and videotape with vampire violence thrown in. At least the former film had some interesting conversations whereas this plays like a lover letter for a fanged serial killer vanity piece. Plenty of vampire violence but nothing exciting as the villioness simply uses the excact boring methoid of taking her prey killing the fun factor. Vampire fans would be better off with Blade or even Vampires out for blood as that film stuck to the rules and even if rules are broken Blade and Temptation is better.

For those expecting this to be the story of the locked room murder you in for a bad disapointment as this film is closer to Phantom of the Opera. A director wife has bad dreams of murder and then members of her horror show start turning up dead with an acid facial. The police led by an detective str8 out of the French version of the avengers(He wears a Steed like bowler in the same style as Mac-nee) tries to solve the murders. The acting is strong by all but the direction has way too many dreams interweaving thu the plot. Its true Nightmare on elm street had dreams but nothing as dull as these with the exact thing played over and over like someones bad loop dream. The effects must had been shocking for 1971 but they are tame by todays standards with fake effects and paint blood. The ending makes very little sense and is laughable. Horror fans must see this as a mild interest but there's way better films released around that time and they could do much better then this.

A good but not great slasher film runs along the lines of Cut but sadly has flaws later on in the film. A group of film fans seek out a lost horror movie that was banned and find out that the killer in the film is not only real but they are the stars to contune the work of the lost film. The acting is well done by all and the direction starts off well but sadly falls apart in the 3rd act and feels rushed at the end leading to a confusing and senseless ending open for a sequel. The violence is extreame with some great kills and some torture towards the end when it seens the director got tired of Friday the 13th and switched his method to Hostel which doesnt help the film as the original theme was working so well. Awesome gory effects somewhat help but the film has a strange ending and could had ended way better but apart from that its def a decent film. Horror and slasher fans should enjoy this.

An excellant collection of short stories def is up to Creepshow with strong storytelling and is def worth a view. 5 people walk into a crypt but are told stories about why they are there. 5 short stories of revenge, infidelty among other subjects leading to their comeuppance. The acting is brill by all esp. Peter Cushing in a rare role even in his many years of horror still manages to come across with his likeable factor and Christma. The direction plays the stories str8 without humor but has some mild suspense in places. My only gripe is I didnt expect state of the art effects but back in 1972 they could had made the blood not look so fake. The violence is wisely restrained except for key points which is welcome but my main gripe is on the 4th story the wrong person was there as it should had been the wife for her greed unlike the others who pretty much painted their own way as he was the victim there but the film is def worth seeing and horror fans of classic horror should enjoy.

An excellant sequel to part one doesnt quite come up to One's standards and the stories feel uneven with the 2nd being the best and somewhat rushed. The film deals with a Indian statue coming to life, A group of teens terroised by an Acid slime on a lake and a hitchhiker who wont die. The acting is well done by all but the direction is best in the 2nd story as its clearly a taster as theres def more to it then meets the eye. The effects are more gory then part ones comic style violence and the Slime is one of the best monsters put to screen and King def got his lure from AD+D for this creation and plays a trucker in the 3rd story. Def worth seeing for fans of short horror stories but its not as decent as part one even thu the raft def needs a sequel.

What could had been France's answer to Posion Ivy sadly falls short of that way better film. A cleaner slowly moves her way into a family with sinster intentions but all is not what it seems. The film is well acted esp. by a bald guy in Irena's past who looks awesome in his brown flatcap but the direction after a well done start starts to wander and eventurally falls apart. Irena's past is shoved down the viewers throat piece by piece when they could had simply shown it at the climax, The polt wists in the middle to end feel like a cop out and for a fememe fatale shes def no glenn close or Shannon Tweed being even more inconsistant then Manaic Cop in part 3. Plenty of raw nudlty male and female plus some violence thu tamer then usual expect the rape scenes as well as a scene of nasty child abuse done to a 5 year old with Psychal abuse thats very hard to watch so a head up there def earns this a solid R18+ rating but thriller fans would be better off with Fatal Attraction or Posion Ivy. Its well acted and mildly entertaining but nothing outstanding.

For a made for TV film for sci fi channel this film def rasies above most other efforts but being a tv moive it has a few small faults as well. A town is attacked by a Wyvern (non fire breathing dragon) and the residents of a small Northern exposure styled town must fight for their lives. Well acted by all and 2 Northern exposure actors even play roles. Don S Adams from Stargate plays his final role very well as the beer drinking guy who sees the danger early and isnt believed till the carnage begins and a respectful notice at the end for a great actor. The direction is strong setting up more character then usual but never forgets exciting action as well. But the effects for TV are watered down despite an Impressive CGI monster and the way it smashes into bulidings CGI style and not much gore desptite one or two scenes that most will find tame and it hides the bulk of its violence by covering it or out of frame but its still an impressive film. Sci fi and horror fans new to horror should enjoy this the most.

An excellant remake of the 1981 Original and since I had the 3D glasses I watched it in both 2D and 3D. A killer stalks a mine and is stopped at the start but he comes back to finish the job 10 years later. The acting is well done by all esp. Supernatural's Ackles and its a welcome site to be Tom Akins again in film after Halloween 3 and Night of the Creeps. Hes getting on in age but still a brillant actor. The direction sets up some exciting stalk and slash scenes and balances it out with drama as well that doesnt slow the film down. The film has wink wink refs to the Original thou they should have at least had a cigar smoking Mayor which they sadly left out. The 3D version is def the one to see as the 3D is very convincing and seems alomost real in places esp. when the pickaxe appears to go right at the viewer thu the screen so a briallant illusion there and had me so convinced I roared out "your paying for that" The effects are very gory and way more gory then the Original with impressive and inventive deaths and the 3D really comes into play making the horror more scary making the viewer wonder what's the next object pointed or thrown at them. My only 2 grips is sometimes the 3D blurs making it hard on the eyes and in the 3rd to final act the film cheats on itself when it seems its wrapped up resorting to illogic to pin it on the most obvious person but its still an excellant film. Horror fans esp. those who enjoy 3D like I do should enjoy this. Def worth the rental but like I said before check both versions out as he 3D really makes it a thrill ride.

Thou this film isnt as horroble as most make out as to be fair they tried to reboot the series with a new storyline but it misses the point parts 1 and 2 made and is a major step backwards. The film is unrelated to the 1st two and sadly isnt remotely as good. A collage student inherits a house and with her friends they go there but are trapped by a storm and are picked off one by one by a warlock who is conntected to the leading lady via a family bloodline. The likeable Ashly Lawrance and Bruce pain try a brave effort but are defeated by a dreadful script. No wonder Juilan sands refused to come back. The rest play it by the numbers and dont really stand out. The direction is a case of trying to recapture part one but failing to understand how much better part one was and the low budget really shows. Even the effects feel lacking and despite a couple of mildly entertaing throat rip early on in the film they get worse and more lazy as the film prograsses and Paine is given little to do apart from sound smug instead of smooth like Sands was and a bit of witchcraft. The reason why hes doing it def shows how they removed themselves from the last 2. The ending is passible but the film feels tired and half baked. Horror fans could be better off re watching parts one and two and simply hoping one day they remake this as part 2 really needed a way better continuation of the ending rather then this haunted house/warlock story.

It's very rare that a sequel equels an Original much less supasses it but the director of Hellrasier 3 has equealed the brillant part one and contunes the storyline of good vs evil as the warlock from Part one is reborn and since he cannot repeat the backwards naming of God to undo creation since he needs the book and Kassandra with a K buried it in a salt desert in the 1st(he cant touch salt its acid to him) he has a new plan using runestones to bring his evil old man to earth and two teens are the only hope of stopping his murderous rampage. Awesome acting by all and its a welcome change to see Terry from Hellrasier 3 in a heroic role as this role makes much more use of her talent as an actress. Sands plays the villian with a smoothness and a sarcastic sense of humor much more then the Original. The direction is top notch and the horror scenes are well balanced out with drama, action and a touch of humor. The effects are awesome with an impressive birth much like Franks return in Hellrasier and the effects balance out CGI and old school effects evenly and is impressive. Quite gory in places but nothing too over the top. But I found the ending very strange and its likely Hickox had a sequel in mind but the next was least expected. Horror fans should enjoy as this is a brillaint film and def worth a rental and view. Loved it.

Before I start my review I would like to point out that this is a UK region disc and 18 isnt the code its the UK rating of the film. 18 is their R18+. Having a collection of UK films mostly 18 I ided the number str8 away. But despair not as thu the film is mildly enjoyable its def not remotely as awesome as the crow. A young lady returns home to the funeral of her sister but she ends up being killed and comes back as a superwarrior. The acting by the main lead is the best but Electra did way better as Daredevils sidekick and her own film afterwards. The rest ranges from passible to downright shocking. The direction spends way too much time setting up action scenes that fall flat each and every time. The crow this isnt as that had exciting action where this is ho-hum. The film is more action then horror as ok there mild horror bitz but it focuses on catwomen style action then the crow did. The worst crime is the action scenes are cheap and very unexciting but the film is mildly entertaining on a campy level and the lead role is one fine looking lady. Action fans of low budget might enjoy but others can do way better and a word to the one person who reviewed this def stick with the crow as its way better.

Not the worst vampire film I have seen and it tries hard to seduce the viewer but it def has the wrong tone for a vampire film. A female vampire seduces a victim that could be the end of her. The acting is better then most of Francos films with the cast putting in a brave effort but the direction and tone is all wrong for a vampire film. She walks in the sunlight, crosses and garlic do nothing to her so it breaks vampire rules and also the film has a negitive message aimed at gay ladies pretty much making them monsters of which is cruel and offensive. Brokeback Mountain and Bear cub showed respect to gay men so why cant the ladies get the exact respect? The film would had simply worked better if they took out the vampire angle and simply made them lovers but also provided a message that people are who they are regardless of gender pref. Quite a lot of sex and nudity making this a solid R18+ but very light on violence which was a surpise considering the director. It's mildly entertaining but horror and vampire fans could do much better then this. But the soundtrack is def catchy and likeable.

For horror this is clearly one of Australia's best efforts and proves us folkes down under can make classy films up there with the rest of the world. Despite being stated that is based on a true story thats a case of yes and no as it takes facts from the Ivan Milat murders and also the Peter Falcono case in the NT. Both crimes had elements lifted from both for the film but mostly this is fiction as the villian is clearly a cattleman and goes againt both cases. 3 backpackers travel to a crator but when they brake down they are offered a tow by a friendly cattleman who turns out to be a serial killer that loves to torture his victims. Brillant acting by all esp John Jarret who's look wouldnt look out of place in any country town and he suits Akubra and R.M Williams naturally ala Mac clouds daughters of which he starred in before. He even gets to parody Crocodile Dundee and does a decent job of Hogans line so even when evil he shows respect. And he enjoys stealing the show. The direction starts off slowly and builds suspense and a bleak atmosphere of which inland Australia really is even without the horror. The violence is quite realistic and very brutal as this guy is sadistic and there's quite a bit of blood and gore plus some nasty torture for those like myself enjoy these kinds of films. My only very small gripes are very little is explained about Taylor despite photos of his past life and some loose ends are never explained but this adds to the mystery and might be explained a bit more in the sequel of which is in the works. But those who work the land might be offended by Jarrets character as cattlemen and ladies are usually the most friendly and down to folk on earth down under and mostly wouldnt act like he did but apart from these forgivable faults its a brillant film and a step in the right direction for Australian film. Horror fans esp those who enjoyed Hostel shall enjoy this.

A brillant horror/thriller plays on a power struggle between a father who's son is kidnapped because he has great psyhic powers, a secret goverment out for world power and a young lady who has a link with the father's son. Brillant acting by a top class acting line up with Douglas, Irving and stevens giving out great performances and Durning esp. in his always fasinating roles. After Carrie Irving gets to walk in Carries shoes as well so a nice touch there. The direction balances horror, sci fi and thriller elements very nicely and is smooth. This is def one of De'Palamas most overlooked films esp. after Scanners came 3 years of which borrowed elements from this film. The effects are very well done with an action level of violence but Gillan bleeding effect should please horror fans as well. An impressive body explostion and one of the best put to film is here as well. A satsfying ending helps wrap things up. Def worth a view for spy thriller, horror and sci fi fans.

Yet another true crime story that is a waste of film and time. A serial killer between his rounds kills off women he doesnt like and that's it. No Suprises or anything worth watching. The real horror is how a talented acter like Kane Hoddler was slumming it in this film. I found the acting very badly done even thu Hoddler comes off best but even despite his best Jason Voorgees like effort in the creepy factor even he is defeated by a bad script, lously direction that repeats scenes and even mixes up scenes and apart from a mildly amusing shovel stab drab and boring killings with fake effects and Ketchup galore. The ending is the worst I have ever seen. The film plays more like a late night dirt cheap thriller on cable then Horror and thriller fans could do much better then this.

A brillant arty styled drama peppered with extreame violence is one of the best revenge films since I spit on your grave starts with the brutal humilation of someone stealing from the place and then its about a brutal owner of the place who lords it over everyone including his long suffering wife who takes a handsome and book loving man called Micheal as her lover. The acting is well done by all and Gambon puts on a roundhouse performance as the husband both charming and dangerous but a speical mention goes to Helen Mirren who plays a frustrated wife who is used by her husband as someone to show off to the guest and a women who hungers for someone who really loves her of which Micheal gives her. The actor who plays Micheal is well done as well and their scenes together is pure class. The direction is smooth setting up the film well and thu it rarely moves away from the dining table its never dull and sets up steamy sex scenes which at the same time are very moving as well. Not quite as violent as everyone makes out but also quite nasty in places as well but the ending has showmanship and saves the best for last proving Hell has no fury like a womens scorn. My only gripe is perhaps a bit too much singing thou out the film which does grate a bit after awhile but its still a brillant film and drama lovers of art films should enjoy.

Enjoyable 80's slasher flick came to Australia in a heavily censered R18+ version missing 3 mins back in the day but thanks to the magic of DVD and Blu Ray the directors cut is def the long awaited Uncut version. Asupermarket is closing down and Liz has a run in with her ex which starts a fight and they throw him out but afterwards The night shift are hunted and killed one by one in gory and inventive ways. Could it be the ex boyfriend with a violent history? an angry customer ripped off? or just your run of the mill killer who decides its party time? The person reading this will have to rent the film as Im not saying. The acting is uneven thu with some great performances but a couple are quite badly acted esp. one teen who talks in a slow monodrome like hes drunk or stoned while on the set. The direction sets up the premise well and the horror scenes are well handled plus Ash(Campbell) from Evil dead puts in an interesting pre Maniac cop performance as a cop. Being the uncut version the murders are very gory and there's quite a few inventive ones unlike some horror films where the killer lacks incentive and imagination sticking to one weapon so thats welcome there. My only gripes are the end result lacks logic when the whole film is resolved plus the ending is silly and highly unlikely esp. when fingerprints could had proved otherwise. Apart from that its watchable and def above average and horror fans should enjoy.

A good but not great film follows the same fear ideas as past films but sadly has a few flaws. A collage student teams up with a friend to do a thesis on fear but his friend had his parents killed at an early age and he wants them to face their fears one by one in gory ways. The acting is strong and earns this 2 stars on that alone. Everyone does a decent job. But the direction thu solid takes too long to set things up and the best action is in the last 30 mins of the film. Plenty of blood and gore plus one scene is very hard to watch and will turn the most avid meat eater into a vegetain thu it didnt faze me in that way. A silly ending spoils the film and leave it open for a sequel. Quite a good film and watchable and horror fans might enjoy this.

With a great cast like this with plenty of professional actors one would expect better then this average thriller. A serial killer is killing memebers of a chatroom and the FBI tries to stop the killer. It's def a dream cast but with such bland material even they can go so far despite best efforts of Todd and Darning. The direction is all over the place putting one too many sub plots in weaking the film and thu there is violence the 1st kill is impresive but after that the film resorts to bland and unexciting action afterwards with most killed offscreen. It takes more then the hero wearing a Doctor Harry flatcap and bland throwaway killings to incite my interest. Only an ingenious plot twist at the end helps this film in anyway. Thriller fans might enjoy this but there are way better thrillers out there.

A brillant film thats not only a a suspenseful horror/thriller but also a Spy thriller ala Ronin as well so the viewer gets two for one there. A makeup artist for horror films called Billie gets accidently locked in the studio she works in but also witnesses a snuff film being made and she must try to survive her assisans who are trying to kill her with the aide of a cop. Brillant acting by all esp. the actress who plays Billie who proves despite the fact she cant speak she is very resorceful and def up to Sydney's level in Scream. The others all play equealy as well esp. the policeman who helps as for once they show a flatcapman in a heroic role which is very rare for films and they should had applied this to the foreigner so def both thumbs up in gratitude there. The direction has plenty of action and edge of seat suspense and there's never a dull moment. Even a capguy vs capguy scene which I found amusing. Quite a bit of violence but nothing worse then the average action film apart from the snuff kill which is quite hard to watch. The film ends on a happy and satisfying note there. Def worth a view and rental for those who love horror and thrillers as its very well made and works on both a horror and thriller angle. Loved it

Excellant horror/comedy is about a man called Brian who is chosen by a wisecracking worm who feeds him juice but also eats human brains. His brother and girlfriend try to help when things get out of hand. The acting is well done by all but a tad too much screaming for my liking. The direction like Basket case shows New Yorks more infamous side rather nicely and balances horror and comedy nicely. Being the Uncut and unrated version an extra 2 mins of gore is added and its quite strong thu rather dated by todays gory standards. The effects are brill with a convincing yet cute monster and plenty of blood and gore which might make non-horror fans sick. But alas things turn silly right at the end but apart from that its excellant and def worth a view and rental for horror fans as it is a cult classic now.

I have seen vampire films that have tried to be different but this one tries too hard to distance itself from vampire lure. A dancer falls under the thrall of a blood drinker and must face off agasint a serial killer. If it sounds interesting forgive me on that as its anything but. The acting is downright horrible and the actors look bored or they simply overact. The list of no names here def shows they wont have much of a career if this films anything to go by. The main lead tries to be Angel and David Boraniz he is not. The only interesting guy in the film is the bald boss in a suit that's rubys boss and the film would had worked if he was the vampire. The direction is low budget and rips off both Showgirls and Dance with a vampire cheaply. For lovers of horror they will be bored by the lack of interesting action, those into the sex/thriller side will be bored by the lack of anyone remotely good looking in this film. Even the strippers fail to amuse. There's some violence but the effects are cheap and look fake. Horror fans are better off with Blade or even Near dark for the different approach and thriller fans would enjoy Midnight Tease or even Showgirls more. Sorry but I wasnt amused by this drug addition film in vampire clothes.

Now if Twilight dropped the romance angle and upped the action with humor it would be as Brill as this film. A teenager makes the ultime choice when his friend is bitten by a spider and as a half vampire helps fight agasint their evil counterparts with his friend who joined them. Brillaint acting and thou Darrens mentor is a tad awkward with the good vampire its only the 1st film and he will adjust to the character much like Darren did. The direction is 1st rate blending in plenty of action and even a bit of humor which vampire lover will enjoy. It holds true mostly to vampire lure except they feed differently and in a refreshingly new way next to Bloodties. The circus people are likeable and the villians hissable. Plenty of action violence but nothing ovely gory and it has some very well done CGI in places too. It ends on an open note but I look forward to the sequel. Def worth a look for vampire fans for something different then the usual and also lovers of fantasy films like Harry Potter as well.

Quite decent for a remake but it never held a candle to the Original. 7 teens are trapped in a house when one is possesed by a bitemark in the basement and must fight their way out or die and be possesed. The acting is well done and Linda Quiggly and Amanda Kinitke make from the Original make cameo apprarances as a mother and door collector. Furlong has def improved since T2 and is really becoming a decent actor making one wish he was in better films. The rest perform equally as well. The direction follows the Original throwing in wink wink refs to the Original with a couple of scenes but the lipstick gag is clearly in bad taste and worked better in the Original despite the dated effects. The demons effects are just plain horrible and the effects either look fake or plain cheesy. But the main fault is they explain way too much and it kills the mystery factor the Original had but at least they dropped the bitter old guy idea as that felt out of place in the Original replacing it with a teen getting his just desserts for candy stealing. A decent but silly ending. Not the worst remake but I seen way better. Horror fans might enjoy this revamping of a classic but I felt it was a step down.

So many have tried to top Saw and Hostel and apart from Frontiers not many have succeeded but The collector not only tops the gross out factor it succeeds not only as an entertaining thrill ride for horror fans but a decent story too. A handyman/safe cracker plans on robbing a family he worked for to pay off his wifes debts to loan sharks but finds out the place is also targeted by a killer with an ingenious mind for lethal traps. He must try to rescuse the family once trapped inside. Brillant acting by all esp. the anti hero and a chilling performance by the killer of whom never speaks and that makes him more scary and up to Voorgees level. The direction starts off nice and easy and when the action starts it never lets up and has brillant suspense, horror setups and entertaining traps. The violence is extreame with inventive deaths and even some impressive torture that outclasses those who tried too hard to outgross hostel and equel too but different to Frontiers. The end is strange but set up a sequel of which is being filmed and set for 2011/2012. Fans of horror films esp. Saw will enjoy the traps and decent story and the film is def worth a viewing. Totaly loved it and cant wait for part 2.

An average made for TV movie not only is low budget but also those expecting Alfred Hitchcocks The birds here will be disaapointed as despite the synose and cover art showing a bird with an eyeball the monsters are Ptroydectals that prey on a group of teens out camping and are on teenage criminals watched over my their guardian. When the birds attack their leader is taken and they have to fight to survive in a bunker. The acting is passible but the direction plays it too safe despite some gory attacks that are impressive for the M15 rating with flesh ripping and quite a bit of gore and doesnt deliver any real suprises. The whole virus thing feels like an afterthought and is dropped after what could had been a whole town infection. A decent ending helps a lot. Mildly entertaining but horror fans could do better.

Brillaint thriller plays like Seven and comes across as equaly as decent as that film in my view with a bit of Pieces of which is more slasher and hands on.Thu billed as Horror it's more thriller as the horror is mostly offscreen with the kills ala Seven. A detective is put on a case where a serial killer is taking body parts from his victims and trying to recreate the 2nd coming. He must try to stop him before he finishes the body. The acting is well done by all and Lambert shows he does different roles nicely. He is backed up by a strong supporting cast. The direction plays it wisely avoiding the actions of the killer to keep the viewer guessing and has decent plot twists one of which is chilling when it reveals who the killer is with cold music to bring dramtic effect to the characters feelings. Plenty of gore but wisely not much violence to keep in tone with the film as it only goes for violence at key scenes unlike those who overkill sometimes. A satisfying ending helps the film draw to a close. Def recommended to those into cop/killer thrillers as this is one of the best next to Seven.

Horror film tries hard to be different but is defeated by trying to be too clever for it's own good. A group of friends go on a sailing trip but get into a nasty storm at sea and are picked up by a cruise ship that is deserted except for a killer onboard. They try to escape but things are not as they seem. The acting is strong by all and deserves 2 stars but the direction goes nutz trying to be both Ghost ship and groundhog day in one and alterntive realites are a tough subject matter even at the best of times and the film provies it cant handle all elements and eventuraly crashes at the end. Passible effects and quite a bit of violence but once seen it simply confuses the viewer and has no satisfactory ending. A nice try but horror fans could do better with Ghost ship or even Death ship as silly as that film was.

Unbelivably horrible thriller plays like the bad kind of garbage that plays on late night TV. A murderous couple take over an open house and kill off anyone who finds out their secret. But the Husband kept a would be victim and she could spell the end of them. The acting is the worst with wooden or over the top perfomances and the 2 stars of True Blood are hardly in it thu the film would had worked better with them as the couple as She overacts and he acts like a brick. The direction has no real story nor explains anything and just resorts to one killing following the next but insults the viewer not explaing the couple's madness or anything. It's clear the couple dont have a love life as they prefer to take it out on strangers with knives and thu there's plenty of violence none of it is inventive or changes and comes across as boring and predable. A lously ending is the cherry on this cynical sour cake. Def one for thriller fans to aviod as there is way better out there and fans of the stars from True blood are better off hiring True Blood.

This is an excellant Clive barker story and come up to Hellraiser 1's standard but only just falls short of 5 stars. A photographer gets a new job but has to impress his new boss by taking photos of something powerful. He succeeds in snapping a mugging of a model but finds himself drawn to a strange busnessman who boards a after midnight train where people board but are never seen again. The acting is well done by all esp. Vince who plays the villian with menance and the hero's are likeable and encourage the viewer to side with them. The direction packs in some great gory action and some chills but goes off the rails at the end when it paints itself into a cornor and resorts to sillyness. Anyone who gets sick or the faint of heart for blood should aviod this as its a wall to wall gorefest and its downright nasty in places. There was one scene I hid behind my fingers and Im not usually like that as I enjoy this sort of thing except oddly for fingernails and teeth which makes me quasy. The ending is downright strange but left open for a sequel which would be welcome. Horror fans should enjoy and its def worth a rental despite the odd ending.

A good but not great sequel basicly is mostly all Part 1 ala Silent night deadly night 2 and thu its a resonable view it suffer from a few flaws. The men who survived part 2 tell their entire story and basicly part one is shown. The film deals with the war crimes committed on the Chinese by the Japanese back in world war 2 and shows very graphically how the prisoners were tortured via nasty means and all in the name of science. The acting is passible with everyone doing a decent job and thu the direction is slow once it kicks in there's no holding back. They juggle horror, Karate action, true story and drama all in one film. The effects are the worst thu either looking downright fake or cheesy. But being based on a true story it makes the violence harder to watch. A good but not great film and war and drama fans should enjoy but it might be too strong for the casual viewer as the torture is quite nasty despite the effects falling short..

A Brillaint remake of the 1972 Original and the best since the remake of Night of the living dead in 1990 updates the storyline nicely, drops the 2 keystone cops and deliver a decent horror/thriller. 2 teens are kipnapped by a criminal; family and are brualised but when they stay at the parent's summer house the parents find out and take revenge. Brillant acting by all and thu some have said the main lead wasnt as good as David Hess. I believed he did just a decent but different approach to Krug. The rest all act equaly as well. The direction is smooth and keeps the viewer on the edge of their seat and pulls no punches when delivering the violence. It did'nt need to add sadistic scenes of Krug says to prove it's point and worked with what counted in the 1st film. Extreame violence and gore will put off many bar loyal horror fans who pretty much are used to the gore by now. Brillant and realistic effects add to the fun. Most complaned about the ending but I thought it improved on the Original and better yet its a happy and satisfying ending. Def worth a view or review esp. both films back to back to see the improvements and a welcome change not seeing two very silly cops of whom the viewer half expected to see put a bullet thu his foot by mishap. I totaly loved this remake and this is how remakes should be made. A shining example.

Dreadful thriller based on a true story that sounded the alarm bells for me putting this on. This follows after disasters like Klemper and Lucas as yet another boring and badly made film based off a true crime. Many will argue Uli Lommel does worse and I agree but it still doesnt make this any better by a long shot. A man kills a bunch of people and is caught and thats about as thrilling as it gets. Horrible acting and it's clear Divoff and Todd were hired to give this film a supposed shine having two horror stars in there but they are badly underused and never really shine with their roles. The others come off worse with dreadful acting with wooden performances that are so wooden they would embrass a tree. The direction throws endless flashbacks to try to create an understanding of Speck but they never really go far enough. The film plays like a bdly bugeted Thriller more so then a horror film unless the horror is how bad filmaking. The so called violence makes one wonder why this gotten the R18+ rating as very little is shown and the kills are off-screen ripping off the viewer who no doubt rented this film to see some action. It ends ok but viewers who really are into this sort of gene would be better off with the shows on the Crime network as even thu hand filmed they outclass this sad joke of a film. Def one to aviod.

A resonable try at Saw and despite being based on a true story this horror film isnt half bad but needs improving. A lady and her daughter is kinapped by a mountain man and she is put in slavery by him after passing a nasty test. The acting is passable aiming for realism but very uneven with some bad acting with te mountain man giving the best performance. The direction sets a decent gloomy atmossphere but it falls apart near the end and tacks on an ironic ending. Def NOT a film for those who get sickened by blood and nasty torture as the effects are the strongest point and the 1st test memorible even thu they ripped off the start of Saw 2 but made it more nasty if thats even possible. Plenty of blood and gore but my main gripe is they could had made the story stronger and given even one hint to why it happened as the movie tells the viewer nothing. A good but not great film and def watchable but horror fans would enjoy Saw or Hostel more as at least they had a strong story backing up the bloodletting.

A Passible Aussie version of an American slasher flick but sadly it cant overcome its low budget or other faults. At 2 private schools the students are being killed one by one in a forest while making out and the cops try to stop the killer. The acting is uneven at best with the leads giving their all but the supporting characters are not given much to do plus the character of billy of whom is a kid with a sharp mouth is pretty much forgotten halfway into the film. The direction sets up Aussie life quite nicely and there's an amusing rivalery between the Rich kids vs the town kids that is mildly amusing but they throw it away too quickly. The killer scenes start off well but they make it too obvious to who it is and the film suffers because of that. The effects are ok but not too much of even that plus the film pulls away from the action at the worst possible time. Quite violent but fairly tame for the M rating. A terrible and obviously rushed ending ends it. The film is mildly entertaining but horror fans could do way better then this.

The last of the Great seuqels of Children of the Corn is a departure to the Original but unlike the weak sequels that followed endlessly this one gives a new setting and improves on part 2 dropping the corn explanation that never worked. Eli and Joshua move to the big city after Joshua's father is killed in the corn and while Josh tries to fit in his brother is the Original vessel for He who walks behind the rows and tries to turn Chicargo into a oversized Gatlin by inciting a mass slaughter of the adults. Well acted by all esp. a special mention to Carney who plays Eli with both menace and charm and hes a great child actor. The rest perform equally as well. The direction sets up the familor Gatlin action at 1st but quickly shifts it to the big city where a showdown of good vs evil is well handled. One pointed out Eli has powers unlike the other two but they didnt have the Original rows bible either nor was the monster's Original choice as Eli came before Issiac Thu not very scary there are way more corn attacks and decent speical effects with some early CGI and an impressive showdown with a homage from the director doing the same thing his father did in Hellrasier 3 so that was interesting as well. The ending is both silly but oddly chilling as well. A pity it was never followed up on but a brillant film and horror fans should enjoy.

I cant belive how the director of the wonderful Bloody Moon and other slashers of the early 80's was making soft core porn garbage like this. I have nothing against the gene personaly and I stand by Basic instinct but this film fails to deliver on all counts. I got this being a Lee fan but found out later he was called in by the director in an emity room to read some lines and they added the rest later. He was outraged and got damage pay of which the viewer should get for hireing this. A teenager goes to an island and is conned by a brother and sister and thats it. The acting apart from Lee trying his best is horrible. The direction plays like a low grade porno flick but lovers of sleaze will be disappointed how it pulls away from the sorbid action at the worst time. Even the so called "shocking violence" pales against anything made better around that time. A waste of time and the film trashes Lee's good reputation as a horror actor and the late DeSade as well. For those into this kind of film are better off hiring Naked Fist as at least it had a decent story to go with the attracting lure. This film gives the viewer nothing but bad filmmaking.

The 1st sequel to the classic first film is a step down but still excellant just the same. The Adults bodies are discovered and the remaining kids from Gatin are taken to Hemmingford where He who walks behind the rows chooses a different kid to replace Issac and the fun begins with adult slaughter again. A reporter doing a story about Gatlin with his son of whom they don't see eye to eye visit the town. Danny then falls in with the cult and its up to his dad along with an Amercian Indian elder to save the town. The acting is well done by all and thou Micha isnt as creepy as Issac and comes across more as an evil teenage Keau Reeves then the powerhouse John Franklin was he does a reasonable job. The direction is well done but they tried to solve two explanations in for the kids behaviour one supernatural and one scientic and both clash which hurts the film a bit. Also a few plot flaws as well that fans of the original will pick up on. The effects are well done with a couple of corn death and the best nosebleed I have seen in a long time. The film ends decently but the small flaws don't hurt the film too much and unlike most seuqels this film is a decent follow up to the Original and is def worth a view for horror and fans of the corn series.

A brillaint movie version of a short Stephen King story that improves on the story much like the Lawnmowerman did. A town is overun by a cult lead by a creepy 12 year old and his hitman and mass murder of the adults ensures. A couple heading to the big city ends up in the town and they have to fight for their lives. The acting is 1st rate. Its refreshing to see Hamilton just before the terminator and the ref of Sara being a pretty name in one scene is def something James Cameran had in mind when he cast her as sara conner. Frankin puts in a powerful performance as Issac and Gains plays a very creepy Malachai of whom is worse then the usal supernatural villians at the time. The direction is smooth and it starts off with a well paced amush on the adults in the diner and then never lets up with good comedy bitz, impressive action and some chilling horror. Quite a bit of violence but fairly tame for R18 these days but the effects arent the main focus so thats welocme here. A satisfying ending as well. Horror fans should enjoy this as ok its dated but still a powerful film and def worth the rental.

So-so horror film really disappoints as it had a decent premise but sadly it all gets flushed in the 3rd act for a 6th sense style ending. A lady runs into her double and then tries to find out why herself and family are haunted and hunted by mirror creatures. The acting is average at best but slackly done. The direction takes the Mirrors and Poltergesit 3 concept and tries to expand on it but sadly throws the idea away towards the end for a predictable and silly ending. One or two scenes of violence and rather nasty in one scene fingernail wise but nothing speical and done way better in earlier films. Sadly this movie only gets 2 stars for what it could had been and horror fans will find it watchable but could do better with Mirrors or Poltergeist 3.

This is one of the most sillyest Halloween clones ever filmed. There has been a lot of clones of the film and some even equel it but this has to be one of the worst ever made. A brother kills his Sister attacker but foinds out it was a sick joke on the sister b/f's part and 1 year later they move to another town where on Halloween their past returns and kills out their new friends at a farmhouse party. Horrible acting esp. by the brother who is acts as stiff as the Pumpkins lying around. The direction takes way too long to set up scenes that when they come apart from one death which was done way better in Blood night tend to come off as bland and uninteresting. The horror is even going from bland stak and slash to silly supernatural that feels like it was thrown in for a laugh. The effects are the worst looking fake and one victims bloodpacks on her face shows up as way too much a dead giveaway and they did nothing to hide it. A rotten ending as well. Horror fans would do better with Halloween or Slumber party massarce as this film is a low budget cash in that deserves to be buried in a pumpkin patch 8 feet under. 6 foot plus an extra 2 feet for being so badly made.

Movies like this were rampart in the 80's but despite the movie crashing towards the end. This film is excellant. A group of teensget into the usual teemage hijinks egging various targets including a Russian man's car and then him then they mess with a spirt board on the night of a local legend for a party game and they start being killed by an unseen hand one by one in very gruesome fashion and must try to survive. The acting is uneven with harris giving the film her professionlism but some of the others need acting lessions. The direction gives the most tell all prologe in film history and then settles into a Pulse/Bloody Mary style of stalk and slash. The blood and gore flows like wine thou out and there some inventive kills including a stylish belly twist and the film is def not for those who are sickened by graphic violence. The ending is typical of smug 90's horror but apart from that the film is def worth seeing. Horror and gorehounds shall get the most out of this.

This is the worst film I have come across on Big Pond movies and I deeply feel none will top this train wreak. 2 tourists are stranded going to a party and are unlucky enough to find the house of the villian of this film and must fight there way out. The worst acting to date with everyone looking bored or wishing they were out having actural fun instead of waiting for their paychecks. The direction falls apart very quickly and the film feels like a childish attempt to top Salo or Cannibal holocaust in gross out factor and misses by a mile coming off more forced and childish then offensive. Oddly not much violence and whats there is tame. It doesnt even deliver in the obvious way either.A horrible ending is the fuse lit to this bomb. Def one bargin basement filler to aviod. I really hated it and usually I love horror and strong disturbing stuff but this was a sad joke.

Awesome Zombie movie from France proves like with Frontiers and Assasin that the French can really shine when they put the effort in. It starts with a payback for a dead family member agaisnt those resposible and before they know it they are trapped in the building by hungry zombies and must fight their way out. Brillant acting by all but a special mention to the character Rene really shines as an elderly watchman who has plenty of tricks up his sleave and even outclasses his stand alone twin in leather for dealing out brutality even if its aimed at the undead. The direction starts the film slowly then it becomes a revenge story ala Boondock saints and then plot twists again to become like 28 days later. The action never lets up despite a carefully built start setting up the story and easing the viewer in before the fun starts. Heaps of blood and gore plus the zomibes are more like 28 days later as they roar and evolve much like Land of the dead to get their victims. Awesome effects and gore fans shuld get their moneys worth here. The ending is strange but doesnt hurt the film in anyway. Horror and zombie fans should enjoy this as What France did to hostel with Frontiers The horde does for 28 days later with this.

An excellant film in the mould of X-ray but improves upon the formula where a group of young people get into an Auto accident and are taken to a sinister hospital where they are killed off one by one by the evil staff and doctor in gory ways. The acting is well done with Robert Patrick shining as the villian in a non cyborg way and the direction sets up a decent premise with chilling horror setups and some decent jump scenes. The violence is quite extreame and horror fans will enjoy the impressive effects and inventiveness of the kills. My only 2 gripes is a strange ending and also the cheap and puzzling fate of one of the victims that writes him out without the fate nor body shown. Fans of X-ray and other hospital horror shall enjoy this the most.

OMG If this is what Australia calls their best for low budget. Im hanging my head in shame as this tops the worst of American Miro budget. A teenager called Billie is a prisioner of a cruel and evil mother till she snaps and kills her but Has her mother come back from the grave? The acting is horrible with the leading lady underacting or walking around staring into space while everyone else overacts to the point of absurdness. The direction copies an older English film but that being the father but doesnt have the UK's much better direction nor any remotely any suspenseful scenes at all. Plus the lack of people or logic is insulting. It was set in Adelaide and there's hardly anyone around. The horror is laughable, not scary and ok theres some violence but with it looks more like they threw ketchup around the set as it looks fake. I seen the twist ending a mile off and its illogical as well. A pity as Australians deserve better and with acting lessions Kane could improve but sadly I found it a waste of time and horror fans could do much better then this garbage.

Ever since the 1st Lake Placid the seuqels have leaned more towards slasher with the teens in peril story and thu this is head and shoulders above part 2 it only just pulls up short of 5 stars by a few glaring faults. The teen from part 2 is a father in this and after his son makes friends with the offspring from part 2's crocs they soon overgrow and start eating everyone in sight. The acting is well done by all and the direction leans back towards part ones but doesnt have the jokes and replies on more a slasher mentality to make its point. Heaps of croc violence and action but the CGI is downright blurry and hard on the eyes. The film ends on a silly note as well making one wonder how much longer can this franchise keep going. Def worth a look for horror fans but for me I wish they would simply end it and soon too.

A brillaint zombie comedy that not only delivers the action but has some decent but mild comedy as well. A male couple plus a tough as nails girl next door must fight zombies after there's a outbreak in their small town or they will be a zombies dinner or become one. The acting is brill but comicly over the top but considering the nature of the film it falls within the boundries without becoming offensive or in bad taste. The direction is solid and plays like a reverse Shaun of the dead and provides a nice balance there with some good belly laughs. The gore is plentyful with heaps of flesh ripping, blood and awesome special effects plus some decent inventive zomibe kills as well .The film ends on an uncertain but happy note. Def a film horror and those into black comedy should enjoy and is def worth seeing.

A good but not great story about an actress that goes to play for a part in an mansion in the middle of nowhere but her hosts have interior motives for her being there and she has to fight for her life. The acting is well done by an expert cast and Mac-Dowell shines in his role as always. The direction takes the 60's "lady in danger" role and updates it but it would have been better if updated way more for 1987 as it feels dated even in the mid to late 80's. Amazling light on violence for an 80's film and its def a thriller and not a horror as it isnt very scary nor suspenseful. The film ends well and thriller fans should enjoy it as thriller but horror fans will be put off by the slow pace and not much action except for the final act whee it gets slightly better but lack of blood will frustrate those apart from a sprinkle in one scene.
(Worth watching) - review by Patricia
Thou not remotely as decent as the 1st this sequel for a made for SF channel is is better then the bulk of their efforts thou thats not saying very much. A sheriff and others have to survive the offspring of the croc from the 1st film and prevent it finishing what the parent croc failed to do in the 1st film. The acting is uneven with the leads passible but all the other supporting actors are downright terrible. The direction plays on the It's Alive again idea of doubling the crocs and has some mildly interesting action and CGI crocs and gore but the jokes are strained aiming for humor that misses more then hits. The violence is fairly extreame for the M rating with quite a bit of croc dinner going around wih a lot of CGI blood but the film typically pulls away fom the action or hides it at the worst times. Not the bomb everyone makes out and it tries to involve the viewer plus not the worst I have seen but def a pale remake of part one. Horror fans could do way better with the 1st film or Crocodile made by Tobbi Hooper.

An excellant creature feature does to Lakes what Jaws did to the beach. A group of people try to stop a killer crocodile from eating the residents of a lakeside town and must not try to be lunch themselves. The acting is awesome with a stella cast esp. seeing sweet rose from the Golden girls break out of her St Olnif character was very impressive as Betty White is a great actress. The direction combines exciting action, some decent horror set ups and the dialoge is sharp with some great lines. The film is tamer then usual with the violence but whats there is impressive and the croc is CGI magic to see at its best at it looks quite realistic unlike some of which look fake or blurry. My only gripe is they wrap things up way too quickly and just when a decent plot twist cuts in near the end but apart from that it's def worth seeing and horror fans should enjoy.

Awesome 2nd sequel to the lost boys improves on part 2 and delivers a film more action based thus more fun. Egger Frog is approached by someone who knows of an Alpha vampire who is planning a mass turning of party goers into an army of the undead so he teams up with his brother to stop them. Well acted by all and the direction sets up the action and horror scenes very nicely with bitz of humor thrown in. The film makes up for part 2's only fault at the end of it and thou it's open again a tv spin off thats planned should be welcome. The effects are brill in CGI with plenty of vampire violence and impressive gore. Def a worthy film and vampire and horror fans will def enjoy. Loved it.

Wow this film has some very negitive reviews here and online but one must remember that the original Lost boys of which was brill came out over two decades ago. They did a decent job with what they had and I found the film enjoyable and almost up to the Original but not as brill. A brother and sister arrive at a another town that has vampires and the brother must team up with Eagger frog to fight them. The acting is well done esp. Fieldman who puts in a nice turn as Eagger and the direction is fairly smooth and tries to recapture the essence of the 1st film but also goes for a few slight varations on the plot. The link to the 1st film is ingenious with the lead vampire here being a near victim from part one(the beach feeding). The efffect are way more gory then part 1 with awesome vampire effects and heaps of blood and gore. My only gripe is the ending is a tad strange and only serves as a means to bring Haim back but they cut off right in the middle of the action. But its a small flaw and doesnt hurt the film too much. Def better then most remakes these days and worth a view for horror fans.

Passible but not brillant story is about a young man with a birthmark on his face who is hunted by demons. The acting is the strongest here but the best actors in the film are hardly in it. The direction is an updating of faust later on in the film but near the end it falls apart and an unsatifactory ending is tacked on. For the rating one would expect a bloodbath but oddly not much happens and the most gory scene is only in one kill. The demon effects are impressive thu. Not a bad film per say but horror fans could do much better then this and the English have made much better.

Excellant horror film only just falls short of 5 stars but is still a thrilling ride for horror fans. An evil spriit goes on a rampage hopping bodies ala Fallen and a detective and a medic must try to put an end to the carnage. The acting is well done by all and the direction sets up excellant horror scenes alongside the drama. The horror is well staged and the killings gory enough to please the fans. The CGI in it is very well done as well with the demon face among other things. My only gripe is it feels unfished with an open ending but still def worth a look for horror fans as this film takes Fallen to the next level.

Films like this were popular in the 90's but today people demand more for their action dollar as its clearly an action movie so why its labeled horror I will never know. A fighter has to fight other fighters to the death so his wife can be saved. The acting isnt too bad for the fighters but the main villian overacts so badly hes nearly comical. The direction is more an advert for MMA then an actual film with badly staged fights and they show the final destination x-rays up so much it becomes as annoying as the video scenes in House of the dead. Even the Mortal Kombat films were better then this. Terrible effects and not much gore which was strange but this is a terrible film that mayby back in the 90's I would had given this a more fair rating but now its a dated and predictable bargin basement throwaway thats best overlooked for Bloodsport or Kickboxer.

This has to be one of the most under-rated films in movie history or at least up there with them. After Suspiria many expected more of the same and was shocked and put off by the change of pace but personaly I belive Argento delivered a better film that gave the chills but also thu the change of tone opened up the mythogy wider instead of just remaking Susprira of which would had made it worse. In this semi-sequel A lady called Rose buys a book that is connected to the buliding she lives in and calls in her brother Mark when she discovers more then she counted on doing a bit of Nancy drew work of her own. Both discover that Madame blanch had sisters and they are not as restained as her when it comes to death dealing and must try to survive. Brillaint acting by all the direction is 1st rate setting the same nightmarish setting the 1st film had but focusing more on the alchemy side of things as well as motive of which was Susprira's biggest flaw. There are plenty of cats around for the lovers of them but one scene is nasty and might offend. There is some violence but fairly restrained for Argento but still well done with awesome effects and some interesting camera placements esp. one placed under a cat's chin while eating meat. Some might think the ending is weak but I seen it as old styled and still brill. Argento and horror fans shall love this and should give this film a 2nd chance as it def worth the rental and view as its better then most remakes these days regardless of age.

Remakes these days hardly match the Originals and thu this isnt the worst I have seen its a long way from the far better 1984 Original. A group of teens are hunted and killed in their dreams by a burned killer with a metal clawed glove. They have to not only fight him but also their parents and even themselves not to fall asleep. The acting is very uneven with Harley giving out the best performance he could as Freddy but the teens this time around are very bland and flatly played esp. Nancy's character who Lankincamp made her own is reduced to a loner who draws art. The direction updates the lure and some interesting development not present in the Original regarding sleep deparvation but also goes against Nancy being awake for 6 days with 11 being the record in the Original. Some decent nightmare setups and how they cherry pick from the films in the series makes it mildly entertaining but horror fans could do way better with the 1984 Original or at least the sequels as this film is proof the nightmare series has clearly run out of steam and Engrand was wise not to return to it.

Horrible film is def proof that the director of Garden of love should stick to horror as his feeble attempt at a thriller is not only absent of plot but comes across as a torture fest as well. A mother loses her children and has to fight thu people who are determined to get their drugs back. Acting is really bottom of the barrel here with the most fake German accents ever put to film and a general sense of boredom from the actors is too present. Their acting is so downright wooden its a wonder they dont bleed tree sap. The direction tries for one too many plot twists that it bores the viewer rather then has them guessing. Im no stranger to overly gory films and def enjoy a bloodbath as much as the next gorehound and theres plenty of nasty violence in this but Hostel and others of that kind at least had a strong plot backing up the bloodshed. This film is basicly one torture following the next and the effects are downright fake in places. How this film got past the Australian censers with the R18+ rating uncut is a mystery in itself. A decent wrap up but this is one sick and brutal film not many shall enjoy and Big Pond movie buffs can do way better then waste a space with their film choices then this.

Amazingly boring film based on a true story which doesnt give it any more credit is about a teen who moves to another town after his friend accidently dies and falls in with a group of Gothic guys who do drugs and get off on Satanism. When things turn nasty he wants out but finds his new friends are not willing to let him go. Horrible acting by all with a hero that talks in a monodrome like a machine and the villian overacts badly and David from Lost boys he aint. Stone is the only actress I reconised but she is badly underused. The direction tries for a Lost boys angle but comes across more as a teen who fell in with the wrong crowd thriller then a horror movie. The gang is more into seeing how many drugs they can use more then the anti-lure they toy with. Some violence but nothing grand with sub par effects and with a horrible wrap up that feels like a cheap cop out or swindle on the viewer. Def one to be avioded.

A brillaint story taken from the short Stephen King story but unlike most books to film this acturally improves on the concept. A scientist whos working on VR helps a gardener who is handicapped and tries to make him smarter but things go wrong and the subject develops powers and Doctor Angelo must stop him. Brillanlty acted by all with Falay and Bronson putting in strong performances. The rest perform equally as well in smaler roles. The direction is smooth and shows the concept of playing with the human mind could go wrong if it fell into the wrong hands. The VR is professonaly done and very well ahead of its time for 1992 esp. since CGI was only coming into its own by then. Not really a horror film but def an engrossing Sci fi film which sci fi fans should enjoy the most. Def worth the rental and view.

This movie is a sad joke. Im aware it tried to go back to the older B+W classics for scares but seriously the director should had studyed the classics at more length and focus. An annoying couple esp. the husband of which begs the viewer to knock out as I found him not only obnoixus but downright thick too move into a house and they are disturbed by someonething supernatural in the house. Horrible acting where the husband grates on the viewers nerves and she either acts angry or overacts being scared. The direction tried for restraint but forgets the Haunting made in the 60's did this kind of thing and way better as well. The film aims more for suspense then blood and gore and no doubt horror fans starved for Original ideas accpeted this garbage with open arms but I wasnt amused esp. lack of logic as in Why didnt the couple leave the house when it got dangerous? The ending was scary but downright silly and devoid of logic. Sorry fans but this didnt convert me to the film and any horror fan would be better off with the Haunting (1962).

This is one seriusly scary film that is both entertaining and full of suprises. The idea is taken from Secrets of the Phantom caverns made long ago but it updates that very nicely. 6 ladies go into a cave system after one loses her family and they are trapped and picked off one by one in gory fashion by the cave dwellers there called Crawlers. Brilliant acting by all and the direction sets up nicely done horror scenes as well as drama scenes and the movie never seems to drag. Awesome speical effects and gory kills but my only gripe is the disc has the UK ending which makes little sense at the end and earns this 4 stars. The Original USA ending earns an extra star as it links to part 2 seemlessly. Def worth a rental for horror fans.

Awesome horror.sci fi takes the best ideas from Alien and Event Horizon and creates a few of their own is about a 2 man crew who wakes up in space but cant remember anything but soon finds out they are not alone. The acting is top notich with all performing well and the direction starts out nice and easy but throws in some interesting twists half way in when the film appears to run out of ideas. The effects are brill and theres some exciting karate style fights with plenty of blood and gore for the fans as its quite graphic in places. My only gripe is they set up for 3 films but alas since this didnt score well they might never happen but its an awesome alterntive to Alien and Horror, sci fi and action fans should be pleased as theres something for everyone here. Well worth the rental and viewing.

Another sad retry on Brands part to relaunch Puppet Master but thu the film is a total waste it clearly shows the series needs fresh ideas and this isnt it. Set during part 1 at the start the story divides to a side story with one of the hotel guests who finds out his plant is targeted by the enemy and the puppets help him. The acting is so-so but the direction seems desperate aiming for part 3's approach but without the style or class. They redesigned the puppets and their new looks will shock Puppet master fans as they look not only have a makeover but it makes them look horrible as well. 6 shooter is briefly shown but doesnt join the fight and the puppets despite the impressive effects what little there is dont do very much compared to the earlier films. The film must be a 2 part movie as it ends unfinshed so one assumes the next part is being made. A mildly enjoyable film but after retro the films have gone downhill with legacy, a terrible made for tv film set over christmas and now this. Passible but nothing horror fans wont find better.

Everyone seems to put negtive reviews about this online and unfair comparasions to the earlier films are often quoted but many fail to relise Romeo went for a different tact since he knew his dead films would become way too samey after awhile. The unit of soliders briefly introduced in Diary of the dead go to an island where 2 family are fighting over killing the dead or cureing them. The acting is suberb by all and the direction not only aims for a zombie film but in a way comes across as a decent Western as plenty of Stetsons are on display here with the opposing family. There's plenty of blood and gore with CGI but its decent with awesome zombie makeup but one scene near the end may upset horse lovers so a fair heads up on that. The film ends decently but Romeo should ed it with the next as its clear that these films have run their course and may lose quliaty later on but its an awesome film and given a chance with an open mind horror and zombie fans should enjoy.

Excellant film but its more an Action film with the horror being used as window dressing then the usual voodoo films. A couple meet at the border and go thu an adventure of various misadventures while making money. Excellant acting by all esp. Herb the dad of the blondie teen who plays his part well up to his end and looks like George from Enter the Ninja. The direction starts the action early and never lets up and the film plays like a cross between Bonnie and Clyde and Natural born killers. There is plenty of action violence and even a bit of comedy with the most luckyest man in an action film to survive being run over twice among other misfortunutes they throw his way plus he gets some decent lines too. Def a film for action fans as horror fans will be disappointed how they use voodoo as a cheap ploy for the action and some characters fates left unresolved but is still a decent film and worth a view.

I cant belive Jamie Blanks a proven and talented director tried to remake a film that bombed in Australia the 1st time and this is clearly not his best work. The Original wasnt Braveheart but at least it had raw energy from Hargraves and suspense to burn but here they got lazy and made the film half baked. A couple go to a beach and then they are fighting for their lives. The acting is so wooden that it borders on sterile. From the lead in the brillant Outlander to slum it in a bad film like this its not the only crying heard from the sea The couples are even more unlikeable that the viewer sides with mother nature. The acting isnt bad just lifeless like they were bored. The direction copies the Original scene for scene but changes key points and dosnt add anything new apart from a more logical explantion for the other couple which is the films only enjoyment. The enviroment message is silly now as ok in 1978 not much was known then but after the days of the 90's with endless environment messages it makes the couples actions highly unlikely as if done for real they would get a lecture from someone Not much in the way of violence but the climax is impressive CGI and makes one wonder was the entire budget spent on that one scene alone. Def another curse in the days of pointless remakes and this one joins the rest for the bargin bin. Its a pity to Blanks as he tried to pay homage to the late 1st director but he failed. One to aviod unless you have a thing for bad remakes. Best to watch the Original.

Mildly enjoyable horror film tries hard to be involving but sadly makes quite a few mistakes. A couple go to a beach to repair their failing releationship and since they do so many things wrong to hurt Mother Nature then Nature strikes back agasint them. Well acted but the 2 are very unlikeable and it makes it very hard to feel any symphony for them. Personaly I found their disregard for nature the most disturbing in the film as they go out of their way to cause harm. The direction sets up the horror well and is quite suspenseful during the 2nd half of the film but a moaning sound from the ocean is overdone and grates on the viewers nerves. A side story involving a blue van is set up but oddly gets dropped later on and I found that more interesting then the main story and the movie begs for a prequel to tell the story of the other people. The horror is well done and the film def earns 2 stars on that alone but I deeply felt they left too many plotholes in the story. The effects are well done. Not a bad film and def interesting but horror fans could do much better.

Excellant film fueled by a great cast line up is about a father and son who run afoul of pirates. The acting is excellant by a choice cast and the direction sets up decent action with suspense in some scenes. The pirates are never romantised like in Pirates of the Carabain and are shown as the murderous brutes that they really were in history. Passible effects but the film tends to pull away from the action despite an impressive and gory start and some plot chocies are not the best as they streach disbelief. But the film is worth seeing and is def worth a rental and def for those who want to see pirates without a Disney sugercoating.

Mildly interesting but too much on the directors life and not enough on the film. A lot of that stuff anyone can find on Goggle and I would had prefered to see how they did the effects more then a repeated auto biography on the directors life.

With the exception of Stones of death and Daybreakers most Aussie films horror or thriller fail to make the grade and this film is no exception. This film is clearly Jarrots vanity piece riding on his impressive performance in Wolf Creek. A bunch of strangers are terrorised by the father of one couple during a flood. The acting is the worst I have seen esp. Jarrot who overacts so badly it feels hes making fun of his wolf creek role and McLachlan who is a long way from his charming role from Neighbours hams it up as a cattleman but comes across more as an Akubra advert more then a character. The direction cheaply rips off better films and worse gives Jarrot very little to do apart from run around swearing like a sailor. Not much action happens despite the set up. It saddens me as an Australian myself to see great actors in a bad film like this as Australia has proven to make great films and its not just us saying that. Def worth avoiding as this film is a clear bargin basement film worth overlooking.

This was one of the most infamous banned films. When films are mentioned this movies name always comes up. So thu reputation I hired this and thou its not the powerhouse Cannibal Holocaust was it certainly isnt far behind. 9 girls and 9 boys are kidnapped during the war and are taken to a secluded mansion and are put thu 120 days of Hell. The acting is top notch by an expert Italian cast and the direction thu a tad slow bulids up the scenes very nicely. To understand this film is to understand this was made as a rant agasint the goverment at the time by the director who sadly was killed as this film was part 2 of a planned trilgoy. But thu the acts are very brutal esp. towards the end I found they choose the wrong moments to make it like a black comedy lightening the moment with humor when they should had went for the jugular. For those expecting a Hostel torture fest they will be disappointed as the best is saved for last and it def doesnt disappoint. Def NOT a film for those easily offended and it only falls short of 5 stars due to the comedy factor but nonetheless its a powerful and shocking movie that should be viewed with caution and an open mind.

Excellant follow up to Demon Knight but not quite as decent as that film thu its right behind it. A private investergater looks for the rebel brother of a client and finds a den of vampire ladies who take their busness very seriously and is led by the mother of all vampires. Excellant acting by all. Everheart plays the lead vampire very nicely, Sarandon def suits a priest very well despite being a vampire in an earlier film and Fieldman takes a walk on the Lost boys side for a change tasting a vampires role instead of usually being the hunter and foes equally as well. The direction is smooth and thu it says comedy its more tounge in cheek with sharply written lines for the humor but works nicely. Brillant effects on the vampires and plenty of blood and gore my only gripe is the ironic ending but that could go either way. Def worth a look for horror and comedy fans.

Average haunted house movie at best is about a family who moves in and following Poltergesit's storyline the daughter gets ghost napped while the parents face off with the ghosts. A paranormal investergator comes in to help. The acting is passible but the direction simply ripps off better ghost stories and the low budget clearly shows. The ghost action is mildly amusing at best but they don't do much with them apart from make them look evil. The Twist at the end has been done before and is clearly getting old with these types of films. Mildy entertaining at best but horror fans are better off with Poltergeist or Boo as those films are head and shoulders over this. Watchable but nothing that makes this better then the usual haunted house cheapies flooding the market recently.

I cant belive A decent studio like Lionsgate who had released this terrible film. This is another based on a true story done before and way better with Henry:Porttrait of a serial killer with Rooker making the character his own. Here they got lazy and decided to rip that film off and do it on a beer budget. A serial killer talks about his kills and how he became a killer. The acting is mostly downright pathetic with fake southern American accents and the actors spitting out their lines more so then acting. When a minor character in his fedora hat looking like he walked off the set of Mad Men next door is more entertaining then anyone else then you know you in for one of those films. He seemed to be the only actor that cared. The direction is all over the place like a Uli Lommel film and thats hardly a compliment and is also hard to follow as well. Even the violence is boring and not much is really shown apart from a few token kills. Where's this 3000 he bragged about killing and worst of all the facts are all wrong making Otis a cannibal and Henry a nerco when that wasnt even mentioned in the earlier films. A complete waste of time and def one to aviod.
