You just can't have too many variations on fairy tales... this was not the absolute fairest of them all, but I watched it twice and will probably buy it at some point.

Not my usual choice for a movie, but with Clint E directing, I had to put it into my watch list. I was not disappointed.

Really enjoyed this film. Watched it twice and would watch it again some time. Liked the story and it was well acted/directed,

I found this better than I was expecting for a third crack at MIB. I enjoyed it and watched it twice

A great movie to watch at least once. An honest portrayal of yet another aspect of the conflict in Ireland.
...also you just can't have too much of those wonderful Irish brogues and beautiful scenery!
Really glad I hired it.

I would love my daughter to marry a man that had this understanding under his belt, and the guts to live it out.
Have your tissues handy...

Great flick. Easy to watch and keep up with. Nice to see a twist at the end, improved my rating by half a star...

Not a horrible film, I've seen worse and I felt compelled to watch it to the end..
The plot is probably better as a book, a bit hard to make into a convincing film.
Loved it. Had to watch it twice to understand the plot and keep up with the characters. Absolutely well worth it..
Not sure if I buy the theory it portrays - but that is not why I hired the movie.
Well worth a watch if you are into period movies

Thumbs up from me. A fun flick, watched it a few times and still had a giggle throughout.

Still laughing - hahahaha. Loved the cameo 'tall, dark [golfing] stranger'

Didn't really know what to expect with this movie, but what an unforgettable and fully entertaining experience to have seen it.
I am afraid to say I had no idea that Hugh Jackman could dance and sing - but that he can! Now I have seen him in this production I can see what an absolutely outstanding, all round talent he is, with a love for the actor's craft.
If I could give this more stars I would!!!!

A great Aussie movie... good cast, great story, wonderful shots of Aussie outback and a bit of an insight into life in certain small towns and communities. Highly recommended flick.

Loved this movie. I am amazed that they can still keep making movies about the Three Muskateers and put a new spin on it.
Super entertaining, watched it a few times and enjoyed it thoroughly each time. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a flick without a deep and entwined plot, but just good, enjoyable fun with some great special effects.

Love it! So glad to have stummbled across this late one night on free to air TV... can't wait for the next disc

A really loooong movie (as noted below). Glad I watched it but wouldn't hurry to spend another two hours to see it again.
Maybe I have missed the 'subtleties' that other reviews talk about. I watch this movie and see a really great story with a wonderful cast of actors who do exactly what the director has instructed. I can't help but wonder if the same script and cast would have been vastly improved without Woody Allen's acting and directing.
The best parts of this movie for me were the scenes with Hugh's bare chest...
Rented this purely because it had Hugh Jackman in the line-up. Very different to my usual choice in flix, but I am really glad to have watched it.. I enjoyed seeing the portrayal of parts of Chinese historical culture, the duplicity across generations, the acting and a lovely sensitivity throughout the whole movie. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for something a bit more refreshing than the usual current Hollywood garb...

Not a fan of this flick. Way too similar to other flicks (as others have noted). Waste of two good actors with a very predictable and shallow storyline.
Have seen it before and it was even better the second time around. Recommend to anyone who loves an easy and uncomplicated movie with great music.

Very enjoyable flick. Great cast (good to see Alan Alda again, and with a role that was a good fit). Lots of laughs and entertainment. Enough depth in the storyline to be interesting but not so much that you have to 'work' - just sit back and enjoy :)

A really enjoyable family flick. Very easy watching, with a lovely blend of both serious and fun takes of real life events. Highly recommend as a family pick.

Watched this once, but wouldn't bother again... I can't quite put my finger on what I disliked - but I think there are too many long monologues trying to flesh out background details that should have either been skipped or added as scenes. The 'shoot em up' scenes ran way longer than needed for the story - more time & $$ could have been spend elsewhere in my opinion.
(Don't bother!) - review by Liz
I am WAY to old to be enjoying this series as much as I am... but I don't care... I am and I do!!! [Even my 21 year old daughter is quietly embarrassed with me ...] Bring on the next in the series Quicklix...YEAY!!!

Highly recommended for any lover of rom com...
Watched it twice and will keep it in my list to see again ... Marry me Hugh!!

Loved it !!!
I'm *IN* for the series :)

After all the mixed reviews I wasn't sure what to expect... but it's a thumbs up from me!!!
Don't exactly know what held my interest, it's a good story, with good acting and character development. Strictly in the 'light entertainment' basket - but perhaps it is the secret memories invoked of teenage anticipation and imagination.... I couldn't stop watching and I will definately see this again. Look forward to pt 2 :)

Worth a watch if you like Steve Martin and/or Goldy Hawn. Not brilliant - but not bad either.

Highly recommend this movie. An interesting story and well acted. Enjoyed it immensely.

Loved it, loved it, loved it !!!!! Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds were a great team in this film. Don't know how I missed seing it before now - it's gone into my top 5 fave films :)

I am afraid this was a bit New Agey for my taste. I don't fair well with too much assumed knowledge,
Watched it bc of Hugh.
Hate to say it - but there may be a time to bow out gracefully Steve. Happy to be proven wrong....

I don't!
Couldn't watch past the first half hour.

A fun 'modern' twist to this classic.

Didn't know what to expect with this movie, a friend recommended I watch it. Haven't been into surf movies since I was a teenager... and was not sure if I needed to see another film about shark attacks - but this film was so much more. Simply OUTSTANDING!!! A sensitively retold story of a tragic event that could have ended one life, but instead impacted perhaps thousands of lives. Great acting and some great surfing shots thrown in too. Tissue alert if you are a mum...
Will watch this again for sure.

Loved this movie, even with a disappointing ending. Another role just made for Johnny Depp. Would watch it again.
(Excellent) - review by Liz
Wouldn't rush to watch this one. Not sure why it was on the 'long wait' list - it certainly wasn't due to popularity.
The story idea was reasonable, but the movie just never 'got there', it could have been so much more.
I usually enjoy watching William Hurt, but this was just dull.
(Don't bother!) - review by Liz
Glid I tuk the time to watch thus fluck.
If you have any affinity to New Zealand and enjoy movies like 'the Castle' or 'Wog Boy', then you'll enjoy this movie. The plot is built around a pretty sad, but not uncommon storyline, but cleverly draws out humour in the day-to-day events that take place. Very quirky and a bit 'earthy', but very enjoyable.
Could easily watch this again.
(Excellent) - review by Liz
This is one of those films you either love or hate. I happen to love it.
It's a bit of an epic and pretty slow paced (as 'epic' stories can be), but I enjoyed it much, much more than I had anticipated. Great story, depth of characters, great acting, great scenes through-out. I am so glad I accidentally put this in my viewing queue. It is probably in my top 20 or so flicks,
I'll be back to see this again.

Funny in places, Worth watching once for a couple of good scenes.
If you enjoy Tom Hanks this is worth watching at least once. Not Julia's best work IMHO.
(Worth watching) - review by Liz
Lots and lots of action, not a lot of depth to the plot, but a good fun watch. Could easily see it again.
(Excellent) - review by Liz
Subtitles where a bit distracting initially - but an excellent film. Would watch it again
(Excellent) - review by Liz
A fairly thin storyline with not enough substance to last the length of the movie. Acting was good. Felt the director tacked on the ending in case someone could be convinced to fund a sequel - or perhaps to add a couple of minutes to the finished movie length. There was no other apparent reason for the final scene,
Personally, would not watch this again.
I was initially a bit distracted by having to read subtitles - but soon got used to it. An entertaining movie - worth watching at least once.

A few laughs to be had - especially if you ever appreciated Cheech & Chong,,,,
What a great movie. I wasn't expecting too much after reading member reviews -
but was very pleasantly surprised. Watched it a few times and would highly
recommend it. 4 1/2 stars from me.

Not really sure why there is such a 'high demand' for this flick. It's OK, good acting
and special effects, but I couldn't help but think the story could have been built up
much, much more. Missed potential in my view. Still worth watching some time.
(Worth watching) - review by Liz
Wasn't sure if this was going to be my type of movie until about 1/2 hour into the flick. I hadn't read any reviews and had no expectations. Ultimately - it has probably landed in my top 10 for the year. I hope they make some follow on flicks from it. Watched it twice and would definately watch again.
(Excellent) - review by Liz
A fun 'rom com' with a reasonably detailed story-line. Could easily watch again.

A little overdone in places - but I don't watch movies for thier 'reality' value. I certainly was entertained and could easily watch this again. Three and a half stars from me.
(Worth watching) - review by Liz
I found this quite brilliant. Good acting and a great story - something a little different. I would recommend to anyone but don't expect a whole movie of just Steve Martin antics - this is deeper. Would definately watch again.
(Excellent) - review by Liz
An unusual role for Harrison Ford, but he played it well. An OK chick flick, not too engaging but enough laughs and reasonably good acting to hold my interest - twice.
(Worth watching) - review by Liz
Worth a watch for anyone who enjoys Steve Martin. Some entertaining 'gospel' music performances. Recommend for anyone ready to have a laugh at the business of Big Tent cruisaders. I would put my money in the pot to see a live 'show' with Steve Martin and Meatloaf on the same bill anytime.
(Worth watching) - review by Liz
Brilliant and entertaining movie.
I loved this movie and if I was able to give it a rating with more stars - I would.
Probably the best film I have watched for the first time this year.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Liz
My first bro-mance movie. Laughed out loud a lot (and cringed a lot too). Not sad I watched it, as a rom-com fan I enjoyed the analogies of the storyline, and the acting was pretty good. I am glad they decided to stick to just verbal blokey topics rather than visual, that gets an extra star from me.
(Worth watching) - review by Liz
Worth a watch if your a 'Shreky'. Not as good as Shrek 1 and 2 (both still in my top 10).
Has a few good clean laughs to offer, after quite a slow start. An easy and enjoyable watch.

Thumbs up from me!!! Thoroughly enjoyed this film, I watched it three times and picked up different references to various well watched sci-fi films each time, probably missed a lot too. I even took the time to watch the ‘extra’ info about ‘Paul’.
I chose to watch the unrated version (after reading other member reviews) and figured I could always flick over to the other version if my ears (or eyes) started to bleed... careful if you’re offended by ‘colourful’ and somewhat graphic language – you may need to skip over a few scenes. Apart from that, I have to say this was one of the funniest and cleverest flicks I have watched in a while.

OK flick if you like the scenery in Greece. Tried hard but lacked the brilliant lustre of My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
Brilliant!!!
The first movie I have seen in a while where I felt I might actually miss something worthwhile if I left it running while getting a drink/answering the phone etc
(Not to be missed!) - review by Liz
An easy watch for any Eric Idle (Monty Python) fans. One of the church scene's made me laugh so hard I cried - how did you learn 'the sign of the cross'? Not for anyone easily offended by witty observations of Catholic or Triad customs and symbolism.
(Worth watching) - review by Liz
Enjoyed this movie. Not too complex, just enough to be interesting. A good watch for those like me that that don't need 50 'layers' to a plot to be entertained. Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Ruffalo are VERY easy on the eye - could easily watch again.
(Excellent) - review by Liz
Quite brilliant - a story worth retelling.

A very simple story line - no surprises really. An easy watch with lots of moderate rather than 'special' effects. Still a good family movie - worth seeing at least once, always enjoy Nick Cage.

Brilliant from the very beginning. I am not a sports fan (at all), but I loved this movie for it's reach into the human spirit asking us to question why we do what we do and how much are we actually prepared to pay to extend kindness to another life.
If you liked 'Million Dollar Baby', this is definately worth seeing.

Glad I watched it once, but wouldn't pay to see it again.

A fun chick flick, not too much to think about by way of a plot. Would watch it again
purely bc of Johnny Depp.

Definitely worth a look. Only one negative comment - the ending could have a bit
more to it. Would watch it again.
