Just OK. Very typical of Disney.

An enjoyable movie despite the dialogue being quite difficult to understand in parts. Subtitles would have helped.

Good in parts but a bit too raw for us, Even the 'romantic interest' fizzled out early. The photography was great.
We couldn't last the distance. Jamal's role was great but Forrester's loose false teeth annoyed me too much. We probably missed a good movie but too bad. There'll be another one along in a minute.
We gave it five minutes and turned it off. It didn't interest us at all.

Very enjoyable but not just the movie but the commentary by Francis Coppola and Danny De Vito was terrific.

A pleasant movie with a sparky heroine.

We didn't receive it in the post so we didn't get the chance to view it. It was addressed incorrectly but that is fixed now.

Mediocre. We were still waiting for the story to get interesting when it finished.

Gentle and nice but typical of an American version of a story borrowed from another country. As usual, the translation didn't work particularly well.
A great story, not particularly well told. The book was better by far.

We gave it about half an hour before giving up.

We tried to watch Disc 1 of The Mentalist but it didn't interest at all, so we cancelled the second disc when we saw it on our queue.Obviously the message didn't get through, and Disc 2 turned up in the mail. We sent it back immediately unopened .We are hoping for better luck next time.

Not our kind of movie. We gave up about halfway through and went to bed.

We couldn't hack the first three minutes, so gave up.

We only gave it a few minutes but wasn't very impressed with that, so sent it back unwatched.
Very good in very small parts
Very interesting story. Beautiful photography.

A wonderful film that we thoroughly enjoyed. We also enjoyed the extra comments by the producer and director. Being able to see those extras is an added bonus for subscribing to QuickFlix

Basically a fairly good story but it needed a scrub, polish, a tidy up and the unnecessary bits vacuumed away. It was too difficult to tell the sisters apart. Captions may have helped us understand the dialogue and so know what was going on.
Once we realised the film was made for older children, we appreciated it more than we did at first. Apart from the sister being far too precocious for a twelve year old, we thought the story was told well.

Very very disappointing. The story was good but the way it was told was confusing. For starters, Precious herself was so sullen that it was so unlikely that she had any personality or brains at all, except in her imagination.. We couldn't distinguish between her mother and father- the same features and hair- so had to guess our way through the story. The father came from nowhere, disappeared into nowhere and his death was a convenient way of getting rid of him in the story. Just because the producer and director knew the story didn't mean we did. There were too many shortcuts for us.

We gave up on this fairly early in the piece.

Too complicated for us.

We enjoyed the movie but what really enthused us was the presence of Braeden Reed in the film. His Asperger's is very familiar to us and we rejoice in its presence in our family. The addition of the lengthy special feature on him was an added treasure. It honoured all those wonderful kids in the world.

We watched only about five minutes of this movie because it seemed too uncouth for us.

I enjoyed this film mostly because of my interest in English cars.

We enjoyed this movie but wouldn't bother watching it again. We had to do a lot of guessing of who was who, until we could check with someone who had actually read the book.. This wasn't helped by the fact that the subtitles were white and invisible against a light background.
We enjoyed this movie up to a point. We had to guess much of the story because the American accents were difficult to understand. We would like to read the real story on which the film was based.

Sorry, I can't write a review because we didn't watch it. I got it confused with The Princess Diaries which, it seems, is a different kettle of fish altogether.

We watched, but didn't really enjoy this movie. Our mistake because we were expecting it to be serious. We were amazed that that Ms Salt managed to last a day like that on only one cup of coffee for breakfast.

We enjoyed this film very much, especially Geoffrey Rush's performance. The sound track was very jumpy during the film but not when we watched the commentary.
