Waiting now on the 3rd disc and then I'm going to read the book! Brilliant Aussie drama, great characterisation and really well-cast. Fantastic premise for a story, full kudos to Christos Tsiolkas for his story-telling pivoting around this seemingly small event. Love how the points of view shift around with each chapter. Just be aware there are lots of sex scenes which are quite graphic and Tsiolkas likes to demonstrate his knowledge of the many and varied ways there are to have sex! Definitely not one for the kids.

I like these actors but the immoral storyline made me angry. How dare this frivolous housewife have an affair that could break up her marriage, just because she is bored and her life hasn't turned out the way she dreamed? Her husband is a lovely, strong provider who loves her, and her children love and need her. I don't understand why this is considered such a classic love story. Yeah, sure, sleep with whoever you want, as long as you're happy who cares who gets hurt?

I'm not a fan of Nicholas Sparks stories so hadn't read it and didn't expect a lot other than schmaltz. It could have been a great love story but something about it I can't put my finger on just makes it a mediocre one. The scenery was lovely and Kevin Costner is great but in the end it is very schmaltzy, lots of swelling music and sweeping shots. Easy watch chick flick.

This is one of my personal favourites - an original storyline, a cautionary tale, a thoughtful look at big business and relationships in this fast-paced 21st century. George Clooney is fantastic in this role - although at first you see just his customary charm and cockiness, by the end of the movie he allows his character to show a really appealing vulnerability. Vera Farmiga is lovely and believable as his love interest. Anna Kendrick's role adds some fun and spark to the story.

This was often crude and only very occasionally funny. It starts with a sex scene and I couldn't allow my 15-yo daughter to watch it. The bridal shop scene is truly a very low point. However, the luminous Rose Byrne and the fabulous Chris O'Dowd kept me hooked to the very Hollywood end. Kristen Wiig in the lead was terrific although she reminded me eerily of Rosanna Arquette. What is great about Wiig is that she makes a really unlikeable character likeable and forgivable. It's a B-grade feel good movie for chicks.

Gave up after 10 minutes. Gratuitous nudity, sexual references and swearing and nothing funny about it at all. Maybe it gets better later but the start was too awful to continue trying any longer.

Gentle, lovely story. Rather sad.

Just a fun chick flick. Nothing more nothing less.

Saw it many years ago and remembered it as being very moving. Sadly, it was disappointing this time around.

This is the third in this fantastic series - if possible watch the first two before you see this. This movie wraps up the story. Noomi Rapace is brilliant. Note that this is the Swedish subtitled version - in the author's own language!

Got off to a great start but I found it overall a bit disappointing.

Loved it - lots of fun especially for teenagers. Looking forward to a sequel now!

This movie was profoundly moving for me. I was amazed at the tenacity of this man who suffers a stroke, to be left with "Locked In Syndrome", only able to move one eye and no other part of his body. He manages to learn to communicate using his eye - and startling good humour, to tell his story. It's happy, sad, funny but above all a story of the strength of the human spirit.

We are having so much fun rewatching Buffy and introducing our teenagers to the Scooby Gang and the inimitable Spike!

A very well done movie - I thought Emma Stone a touch too "modern" for the 1960s but otherwise a beautifully presented story about black suppression set in the 1960s in the southern Mississippi region. Thought provoking, very moving story. First rate acting from all the cast.

I absolutely loved it. Very easy to watch. What a cutie the little boy Noodle is, he is certainly the star of the show. Sideline story relating to her sister's marriage is a little irrelevant but fleshes out the characters. In response to Larry below, the story explains why they can't take the child to the Chinese Embassy and why they do not want to take him to the Israeli authorities. Were you not paying attention?
