A wonderful trip back to a classic movie of the era , 1848. I loved it , the songs were in my head for days afterward !
A perfect showcase for Judy Garland, Fred Astair,
Anne MIller, with a wonderful score by Irving Berlin.

Excellent viewing for the very young - the ones
that Harry Potter is too scary & unsuitable for.
I was very happy with it.
Lots of warmth and just enough good tension there
with the friendly ghost and the ride on the train roof !

I enjoyed the movie very much. Interestingly, it is valuable as the first international (i think) movie
made by our own Nicole Kidman - to see her in her beginning stages of her now stardom status...
I recall that this was the movie that TOm Cruise saw
which resulted in him choosing her for his up coming movie' Days of Thunder' ; which had such an impact on her life thereafter both personally and professionally. Dead Calm - a high standard of acting from all three major players.
