Didn't quite live up to my expectations, but did keep me watching and surprised me a few times. Bradley Cooper did a good job of showing both the down on his luck writer and the man with the startling intellect. The use of light and colour to show his different states of being worked well.

Enjoyable, but a bit lacking in the suspense you would expect from a ghost story as it is all accepted so easily. Maggie Smith is somewhat restrained and we know she can do so much more. I watched it on a gloomy wet day and it kept me well distracted so it did it's job.

I adored this movie. It made me smile, laugh and cry. The animals sometimes steal the show from the human cast. Good for kids and adults alike. Matt Damon in his most likeable role so far.

Better than I expected. A little edgier than some Disney fare. Still aimed squarely at a young teen audience, but enough to keep the adults interested as well. The cast of unknowns do a good job for their first outing.

A bit silly, and a bit predictable, but also sweet and sometimes funny. It's certainly a novel way to get out of the "friend zone".

Brilliantly acted but very disturbing. Since it seems to have set out to be uncomfortable and challenging, it has achieved it's goals. Natalie Portman is stunning even when whittled down to skin and bones, and since that is the state a professional ballerina has to exist in I applaud her devotion to her craft.

Great fun! My only concern was the high body count but if that wouldn't bother you than it's the perfect movie for watching for the sheer outrageous fun of it.

Pleasant viewing for the most part. A very different role for Harrison Ford, and I give him props for attempting it. Feel good ending left me smiling.

Lovely. Lots for the adults as well as the kids. Great Elton John soundtrack adds to the fun and feeling.

Really interesting premise. Funny with more than a touch of pathos, or tragic with some comedy thrown in, depending on how you look at it. Predictable but satisfying ending.

Enjoyable. Something for the guys and the girls. All the reviews I'd seen focused so much on those magical doors I was worried there would be little else but CGI magic to this movie. I am glad to say I was wrong.

Better than I expected, less low brow humour and more of a love story, in terms of romance, friendship, and heritage. Alex Dimitriades makes a great bad guy.

I think this movie suffered from over hype. I had heard so many great things about it I expected more. Overall I found it a bit boring to be honest. I think the idea was to creep up on you, and it did I suppose, but I was a bit numbed to the plight of the leads by that time so it didn't have the impact it could have if I'd felt more for them.

The chemistry was so non-existent between the two leads that I couldn't suspend disbelief and gave up about 20 minutes into the movie. It might have gotten better, but I I wasn't willing to wait to find out.

I really like the faux documentary format. It pulled you in and almost made you forget you were watching a horror movie. The end was a tad far fetched, but still somehow satisfying. I didn't expect it, and that's saying a lot in these days of formula movies.

Having heard poor opinions on this one my expectations weren't high. It had it's enjoyable moments, and I like the overall message, I just feel they could have said it in less time.

In the teen skin flick/gross out genre, this one leans too far to the gross out. I know political incorrectness as humour is all the rage these days, but this movie pushes those boundaries so far it stops being funny. I love the entire American Pie series - own most of them - but even I found this genuinely offensive in places. One big hook for me was the Playboy angle. Now I feel saddened that Hef would let himself and his brand be associated with something this unpleasant.
