If you have enjyed the four previous 'TRUE BLOOD" series then you won't be disappointed, all your favourite characters are back again plus some new ones. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

As always Steven Spielberg is the best direct and gets the very best from these top stars, Daniel Day Lewis has played 'Lincoln' brilliantly and the supporting cast have certainly held up their end of the film. It isn't a 'war movie' exacxtely though you are obviiously going to have the cilvil war as a centre theme. Not a family movie for sure, my Husband said it best as . . . . . . A thinking mans film! ! !

I requested this one as I am a Robert Pattinson 'junkie' and yes he is as gorgepus as ever BUT the movie is the worst I have seen in a long, long time. Made no sense at all, my advice is to put it on mute and just watch the gorgeous man and his beautyiful eyes! ! ! !

Hmmmmm. . yes well? Some very true insight into family life & situations but I could have had that from watching my own Daughter's lives and their respective families! ! ! ! Did not like it at all, unnecessarily vulgar, crude, sexist and stereo type. . .very disappointing. Felt this was in the same catagory as 'The Hangover"!
(Don't bother!) - review by Ann
Vampires plus the end of the world and you have 'True Blood' meets ''Underworld'. A very good movie if you like this genre, the storyline is there not just gore & blood. Was very surprised to see it was Australian made?
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
Wonderful family movie. . . you can't go wrong with a warm, sensitive family based story that 'modern' families can relate to, a great cast of true iconic actors. Not over the top comedy and not too emotional this film ticks all the boxes for a fun and entertainment. Brilliant !
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Found this to be completely miserable and drawn out. Ended up turning it off after an hour. After reading the two other reviews maybe there was something I missed but I was very disappointed, requested it to see Eddie Redmayne again after his great roll in 'Les Miserables'.
(Don't bother!) - review by Ann
Not taken with this film myself and not sure if it is one for the whole family BUT our 9yr old Granddaughter watched it several times over the weekend, so maybe that age sees something in it that my age doesn't? ? ? ? ? ? Gave it an extra star for the quiet we had while she watched it! ! !
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
An absolutely brilliant movie/story, Helen Mirren & Anthony Hopkins have played their roles to perfection as Alma & Alfred Hitchcock as have the support cast. A completely different side of the Physico' phenomenon and into the mind of this 'Master Of Suspence' & his personnal life. Hummmmm! Think it has awakened a need to watch some of his old classics again! ! ! ! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this film highly, if you'd like to see & hear some behind the scenes trivia about this world renouned director and how 'shakey' the release was for it's time.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
I very much enjoyed this movie BUT if you are expecting it to be like 'Exotic Marigold Hotel' you may by disappointed it isn't a comedy, though Billy Connelly does have his usual quirky sense of humour.. The four main characters of the 'Quartet' are played brilliantly by some of my very favourite actors. The storyline is very simple but sometimes sad as it is set in a retirement home for opera singer/ musicians and the problems many of us face (or will face) as we get older, stroke, dementia, even loneliness. We touch on the private lives of Jean & Reggie who were married for only 9hrs many years ago, when Jean comes to live at the retirement home memories, insecurities and heartache arise but their 'love' is found again. The singing & music is wonderful. Not a movie for the young ones but is beautifully told and a lovely story.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Brilliant as always as we go into Season 6, Took a while to catch on to what has happened in the 'missing' 12mth period(since season 5 ending) and you have to watch for 'flashback' as Dexter remembers what has taken place.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Went to see this at the movies with the Grandchildren and they loved it then and it hasn't lost any of it's majic on the small screen. Animated movies have come such along way in recent years and this was brilliant. Unique storyline, brilliant cast, lovable characters and the adults enjoy it just as much as the children. Perfect family movie for all ages, think we will have too buy a copy for our own library at home. Our 10yr old Grandaughter was particularly passionate about it. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this DVD/movie highly on all levels.

I had to refer to my Husband as he is the connoisseur of all things 'James Bond'. . . . . and he thoroughly enjoyed this movie (watched it twice in fact), Daniel Craig isn't his favouite '007' but this is one of the best movies of them all. Plenty of action, well acted and excellent storyline. Once a 'JB007' disciple you always will be I think. . . personnally it was as noisey as ever and David didn't hear a word I said from start to end. . . . so ladies sit back and let the boys enjoy themselves.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
To say 'I enjoyed' is just not correct. . . this movie has to be experienced ! Put a 'DO NOT DISTURB' sign on the door, un plug/turn off your phones and just let this movie take to to another place and time. Not one for children and /or teenagers and yes the singing dialogue takes a ittle getting used too and you won't get the 'feel good' tingles BUT this is so much more than a regular movie. The acting is brilliant, each and every character is played to perfection. . I would go so far as to say I haven't felt as stronge about a movie since I saw 'Gone With The Wind' which is stilly all time favourite movie. Another classic amazing.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Ann
I requested this original version after seeing 'The Wicker Man' 2006 with Nicholas Cage and this is just so much better than the later version. The storyline is 'similar' in the most part but this one holds your attention and the characters are more mysterious some how! ! ! Much prefer the Scottish Highland setting and all round much better than the remark.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
I enjoyed trhis movie very much. It is a light hearted teenage musical story about a group of girls in an a-cappella competition who are up against some tough opposition, even a group of boys from their own school. When the 'new girl' at school leads them into different music style not everyone is happy. Great to see some of the younger, lesser known actresses from other teenage movies from the last few years, minus the fangs! ! ! ! Easy to watch, good storyline, probably more for the girls than boys.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
I love Dexter it just gets better & better with every new season and Season 5 doesn't disappoint.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
I loved this movie but Tom Cruise's character was a little scarey! ! ! You have to like musicals and you would have to love the great music of the 80's.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
I enjoyed this movie, it has a different storyline and was well acted by the cast (except I would have expected more from the 'biggger' names). It has fun and comic scenes but also a tinge of a sadder time for one couple. Not sure why I didn't rate it higher. . . . just not as 'captivating' as I was expecting it to be.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
Absolutely brilliant, I have enjoyed every minute of the five' 'Twilight - Sage'' movies and this one is the very best of all. The final 'battle' scene is fantastic. Very disappointing that this is the final though.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Ann
I think some people have confused this movie with the later release movie 'Lincoln' with Daniel Day Lewis ? This one 'Abraham Lincoln - Vampire Slayer' is absolutely brilliant, love the fantasy side of the story with plenty of vampire action and for those wanting more of the 'true' American history it has great action scenes and the delivery of the 'Gettysburg Address' is very moving. Very, very good acting and technically brilliant.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Oh this is so awful. . . . . . . yeah, makes you so proud to be 'Australian' if you like the stereo type of football, beer, gambleing, the buck's night at the local strip club. A complete waste of my time, I only kept watching as I hoped it would eventually get better and yes it does have the 'happy ever after' for the bride & groom just with other people! ! ! !

As always this new 'Barbie' DVD is a favourite of our 9yr old Granddaughter as it will be with all little girls that love everything Barbie previously.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Very slow & disappointing. Gave it an extra star as I believe the main leads are played very well.
(Maybe) - review by Ann
My 9yr old Granddaughter, Breanna loves everything 'Winx' and this was the only DVD that we have been unable to buy in the series. Breanna absolutely enjoyed every second.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
Absolutely loved every second. Well made, good acting and a great story. You can't help but sing along with the wonderful songs, entertaining and very highly recommended for great viewing. This one ticks all the boxes.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Have seen this many times before and just wanted to see this time in our history again. Good story and well played by cast, a brutal time in our country's history.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
This has been my all time favourite book forever and I have seen every film version ever made including Sir Cliff Richard musical version 'Heathcliff'. . . but this is not as good as the others, I can't get my head around Heathdliff being Africian-American stow away, Cathy was very poorly played. This is one movie that doesn't get better with the modern new film photography and special effects. They did stick to the main original storyline but poorly done, very poor portrail of the main characters. Very, Very dissapointing all round.
(Maybe) - review by Ann
I was actually very surprised by this movie. . some films of true life situations are very bland but this was very, very well done, not being a big fan of Jack Black I thought he played this part exceptionally well, Shirley MacLaine as always the grumpy, difficult old lady and again she does it brilliantly, Matthew McConaughey wasn't at his best as the slow, town sherrffe with the Texas drawl, not his finest hour but then I have just seen him in 'Magic Mike' and he was sooooo gorgeous ! ! ! ! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this movie highly but it certainly isn't a comedy, it is more of a documentary of sorts.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
Richard Gere as always is brilliant in these type of thrillers, something about it reminded me of his previous film 'Intersection' though the storyline was quite differect., the other cast members were also excellent in the family and business associates around him The story revolves around some shady business dealings and a tragic accident that complicates an already tense business deal and a young detective that has a dislike of the rich & pampered social set. Excellent movie with a storyline that holds your attention BUT as mentioned before the ending is rather disappointing and almost unfinished? ? ?
(Excellent) - review by Ann
My 16yr & 10yr old Granddaughters loved this movie, though I'm not sure the younger fully understood it. Some drug references but very pleased that there was no bad lauguage included. Very much a teenage movie but the storyline is modern, well presented and carries a good message. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this one for Grrandparents, Parents or any Family with young people and it isn't just for the girls either.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
A so/so movie filled in two hours but not very exciting, just a light hearted comedy with likeable characters, definately one for the girls.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
Ok Well! ! ! Maybe at 60 yrs old I'm just past it. . . I have some wonderful memories of Ladies Night Out & Hen's Parties with 'Manpower' & 'Thunder From Downunder' etc but this just didn't have the 'wow' factor. . . sorry! Yes the dancing is good and the bodies are gorgeous but the storyline is just flat, flat, flat. Very disappointing.
(Maybe) - review by Ann
Another great movie to add to the previous 'Ice Age' DVD collection, all Grandchildren loved it from 18yrs to 2yrs and it kept the adults entertained also. If you are a fan of the previous movies you certainly won't be disappoionted this time.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Another movie that just appeared in the letter box. The Grandchildren actually liked this one and said it was 'cool' for 13-17yr olds.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
I honestly have no idea how this movie came to be sent to me. My teehage Grandson and his girlfriend watched it and said it was pretty weak.
(Maybe) - review by Ann
An excellent movie, solid acting from the main characters and a good storyline that holds your attention throughout, Loved the scenery but a little dark at times, very good twist at the end BUT I did have to watch it a second time to 'get' the whole story. . . still not sure if 'Florence' was alive or meant to be a ghost at the very end? ? ? ? ?
(Excellent) - review by Ann
I really enjoyed this movie, it moved along nicely and had a good storyline. A good twist at the end that I didn't see coming, not a 'classic' but an excellent thriller and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Grandchildren enjoyed this one at the movies and it hasn't lost anything seeing it again, had the older ones entertained as well. A good all round fun movie from some of our old favourite scarey monsters.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
I was expecting this to be 'naughty', I wasn't expecting rude, crude, vulgar and utter rubbish. This has hit an all time low, total rubbish.
(Don't bother!) - review by Ann
Dexter is gertting better & better with each new series.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
Got this one for our Granddaughter who is a huge 'One Direction' fan but Breanna couldn't even watch it all the way through. Just very poor in every way.
(Don't bother!) - review by Ann
I was looking forward to this one but found I was disappointed, a somewhat disjointed story and not easy to follow. Not a 'bad' film really, just wouldn't recommend it if you want your classic 'werewolf' horror movie, think we have been spoilt with some great vampire/werewolf films over the last few years and this one fakks short of what I was expecting.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
Wonderful movie for the whole family. Lovely storyline and fell in love with the characters. this could become a family favourite.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
This is a very difficult movie to review. . . . . as a married women of 30 years it was a little too close to reality to be comfortable, certainly not a movie that a younger couple (if you were newly married you would give up before you started! ! !) would enjoy and not a romantic comedy as I was expecting. The acting is excellent even though I didn't find the characters very likeable. Over all a very depressing movie to watch but have given it 3 stars as it is well acted and it does eventually have a nice ending? ? ? ? ? A friend told me she felt like reading 'Fifty Shades Of Grey' again after watching this movie! ! ! ! ! LOL
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
An absolutely beautiful movie that all the Grandchildren 18yrs to 18mths thoroughly enjoyed for Christmas Eve.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Very disappointing as this was for my 9yr old Granddaughter who just wanted to listen to her favourite groups music so with such a lot of dialogue she became bored with it very quickly.
(Don't bother!) - review by Ann
Another beautiful Barbie classic, with three Granddaughters aged 9 - 2yrs these are always a family favourite and are watched over & over again. This one has stayed true to the original storyline of Odette & Prince Derek and of course with Christmas just around the corner it was just perfect for a weekend at Nana's. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend very highly for any little girls that love Barbie & Friends BUT be prepared to be humming the catchy little tunes yourself for days too! ! ! !
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Barbie movies are always a family favourite with the Granddaughters and this one lived up to all expectations. Think Santa might have to find a copy for Christmas ! ! !
(Excellent) - review by Ann
We are enjoying Dexter more & more with each series.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
As always this new ' Buddies' movie was wonderful viewing for the whole family, it is funny, entertaining and a feel good experience all round. I would recommend it highly with the school holidays just around the corner. It was so loved by our 9yr old Granddaughter we will be putting a copy in her Christmas stocking.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Fabulous movie, some top actors Judi Dench, Bill Nighly & Maggie Smith( a far cry from Downton Abby) playing brilliant parts that suited them perfectly. Probably suited to an older audience, we loved it, Ticked all the boxes for a great evenings viewing. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it highly.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Loved it, Loved it, Loved it went straight out and bought a copy of our own.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Ann
As with all the previous 'Buddies' this was a family favourite and a great watch for the Grandchildren of all ages (even the two teenagers). Would recommend this one highly for the whole family.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
I was very pleasantly surprised with this movie, with a cast that I wasn't familiar with I wasn't sure how it was going to be but it was everything I would expect from a romantic comedy. The first ten minutes when six close long time friends (two couples and two still singles) meet up in a restaurant there was a lot of talking and banter that was hard to understand. The story then goes to four years later when the two married couples have children and cracks start to appear in their 'happy' marriages, the other couple (still single and dating other people) get together for a meal, that ends early for the young families leaving the single's wondering and discussing marriage , children and what they want from life? ? ? ? ? ? They decide to have a baby together but not be romantically involved, makes sense in theory but what actually happens is mixed feelings, broken hearts and confused friends, after a series for mixed adventures and disasters the obvious happens with the help of their 2yr old Son. Good story line (if a little predictable), great acting and all round good Saturday evening viewing but be aware for younger ones it has some swearing and sexual references.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
I am enjoying the start of this season more than the first beause I have got to know the characters better and understand the storyline.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
I was expecting much more from Jennifer Aniston & Paul Rudd as a comedy team, not really a 'bad' movie just more silly than funny and very ordinary.
(Maybe) - review by Ann
Great fun to watch and we very much enjoyed something 'different' ! If you are expecting classic Julia Roberts you will be disappointed as it is just a modern take on the old 'Once Upon A Time' - Snow White & The Seven Dwarf fairy tale. The costumes and scenery are amazing, you fall in love with the funny characters. Just watch it and don't expect anything 'heavy or classic' and enjoy it for what it is. . . a fun family movie. I expect Julia Robert had a great deal of fun making this movie.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
I found this movie rather frustration, how with so much compelling evidence was this man not found guilty of his Wife's murder is unbelievable. Good acting by the two main leads and again highlights the world of money and the powerful wheeler & dealers in business & politics. Was worth watching with good storyline, just a little slow at times.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
If anyone was in doubt of 'Robert Pattinson' acting talent they should watch this film, he plays the lead character brilliantly, as does all the leading lady characters. Not a storyline I particularly liked as it was promiscuous and not a pleasant time in French history BUT was accurately portrayed in the film. Pleased I watched it and would recommend it if you like this type of movie but wouldn't watch it a second time myself.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
If you love the wonderful imaginary world that has been created by Johnny Depp & Tim Burton previously you certainly won't be disappointed in this new installment, it is every bit as magical & unique as you would expect. Maybe my famly are a little 'strange' but we loved every second and wouldn't hesitate this movie for a great evenings entertinment .
(Not to be missed!) - review by Ann
This was a particular favourite of my 9yr old Granddaughter during the school holidays as it is exactly the same storyline and characters as the ABC cartoon on the telly. It is refreshing to see a pleasant, easy , non violent cartoon is still being made for the children these days with a good environmental message woven into it.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
As with all previous 'Barbie' movies our Granddaughter loved it, very similar in storyline to 'Barbie - The Princess & The Pauper' BUT with more music, fashion and style. Once a little girl is a Barbie fan nothing else matters and this is another great favourite. . . . lol!
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
I enjoyed this movie very, very much it wasn't as straight forward as most romantic comedy's (don't think I would call it a comedy at al l! ! !). it was a pleasant easy to watch movie with good storyline and great acting. Don't go far as to say I would purchase a copy for our own home libruary BUT could certainly watch it again sometime.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
Only watched a few later episodes on the television run so we were interested to see the first series. OK but hoping it will inprove as we get to know the main characters.

Didn't like Spartagus the first time round and it hasn't got any better this time. Just wish I could convince my Husband to stop trying? ? ? ? ? :-(
(Don't bother!) - review by Ann
This story means a lot to us as it is the day we arrived in Northern Tasmania ourselves to live. A very accurate and moving rendition of the actual events as they happened, you can't help but be moved by the wide spread heartache that swept a whole state(nation) as we held our breath for these families as they waited and watched for their loved ones over the 15days.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Had this out for my 9yr old Granddaughter and she absolutely loved it, a lovely, nice, simple, easy to watch film for the young ones.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Thought this might have been an improvment on 'Blood and Sand' but if anything it is bloodier and definately should be rated as porn. . . . . . if you have seen one DVD of 'Spartacus' you have seen them all. . . . over the shock fact now will go back to reading something not so shocking. . . . . 'Fifty Shades Of Grey' ! !
(Don't bother!) - review by Ann
Watched this film as I am a huge Johnny Depp fan but it missed the mark as a 'classic' Depp character it was slow and ordinary, as said previously not sure what kind of film it wanted to be, certainly not a comedy though it did have comical moments yet not a drama either, more of a biography? ? ? Gave it a extra star as it has a yummy Johnny Depp shower scene and no one can complain about that gorgeous body ! ! ! ! Worth watching but wouldn't watch it a second time or buy a copy for my Depp DVD collection, put it on par with his movie 'Public Enemies'.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
Excellent, just a little disappointed that I didn't receive disc 1 and had to 'catch up' with the characters and the story, so worth watching the special features or 'story so far' scenes. Certainly a different take on the vampire figures more 'alien - Torchwood' kind of storyline, very low violence. Would have liked to see more as it was open ended with the original character Jack's ashes being rejuvenated by vampire blood and the search for artificial blood sources, could have been a brilliant series. Great acting.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Not your usual 'handsome young vampire' story more like 'Van Helsing' meets 'The Da Vinci Code'! ! ! ! The ending leaves it open for the four main leads( 2 priests/vampire hunters male & female, young heroine & boyfriend to continue with their next adventure, so will be interesting to see if it continues. Think I am more of a Twilight, Vampire Diaries girl than this type of violent, futuristic watcher! ! !
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
Too much blood & gore for me. . . I'll go back to 'True Blood' at least we have hot vampires in that series! ! ! !
(Maybe) - review by Ann
I was expecting something along the lines of 'Tootsie' or 'Mrs. Doubtfire' how wrong could I have been. . . . . ? Adam Sandler is known for his strange sense of humour at the best of time but this has to be the worst yet a complete waste of time BUT the Grandchildren 3 & 8yrs laughed at the outlandish antics but they totally missed the one liners and attempt at humour!
(Maybe) - review by Ann
Much better than I was expecting a good 'family movie', probably enjoyed more by my Husband and the Grandchildren than me but as far as a comic book themed movie it was ok! Hmmm decided to go up to 3 stars instead of two? ? ?
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
Again this is a 'man' film, my Husband enjoyed it but I was never a fan of the original 'Planet Of The Apes' so probably not for me to say much more.
(Maybe) - review by Ann
Think this is one for the 'boys' my Husband enjoyed it much more than I did? ? ?
(Maybe) - review by Ann
Lovely movie funny, sad but leaves you feeling 'good'! Kate Hudson is, as usual perfect in her portrayal of a beautiful young women successful, happy, though with major commitment issues who finds out she has terminal colan cancer. The storyline is predictable but beautifully done as she comes to terms with her parents divorce, her own death and trying 'NOT' to fall in love with her handsome young doctor. Wouldn't hesitate to recemmend this movie highly, much more than just a 'Love Story' still that is the movie it reminded me of! ! !
(Excellent) - review by Ann
To me it was an Australians version of 'Four Weddings & A Funeral' without the gorgeous Hugh Grant ! ! ! Would make a great add for the Victorian travel bureau with The Melbourne Cup. Yarra River Cruise, Carols By Candle Light, Australian Open Tennis, Champaine Balloon Flights and everything for the travelers to do list! ! ! ! Over all a pleasant enough storyline with the usual Aussies love of sex scenes & drinking in bars? ? ? ?
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
Dark movie and very hard to understand? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Hummmmmmm, maybe I should read the book! ! !
(Don't bother!) - review by Ann
Only watched this film for about half an hour poor storyline, bad acting. Worst movie I have seen in a long. long time! ! !
(Don't bother!) - review by Ann
Very ordinary movie, in fact we didn't even finish watching the whole show, it just left us flat and uninterested, maybe we're older now but young people getting drunk and waking up to different partners every morning is an over done story line.
(Don't bother!) - review by Ann
Two sets of parents get together after their Sons have a school yard fight, not a good recipe from the start. . . four disfunctional adults in one lounge room with alcohol, marrage problems, different parenting styles and you are going to get friction. Dispite four brilliant actors this is long, boring and just depressing, a complete waste of time and energy.
(Don't bother!) - review by Ann
Fun, Fun, Fun this is a perfect movie for both Wives & Husbands, enough romance to please the 'chick flick' lover and plenty of spy/high tech, speed chase action for the males. We also enjoyed watching the extras with additional scenes and alternative endings. A great movie to sit on the couch curled up together with glass of wine AND a beer! ! ! ! Highly recommended.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
A very unusual film with a compelling storyline, having a Grandson that suffers daily with Aspergers I fully agree with the previous posting that the young boy shows every sign of the condition but it is not mentioned? Tom Hanks as always is brilliant as the Dad, not so much 'enjoyed' the movie but I was also 'absorbed' from the very beginning to the end. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this film if you want something a little heavier.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
I am a huge Gerard Butler fan but dispite his great talent this movie left me feeling flat and 'deaf', very low key storyline, can see how it tries to pull at the heartstrings but it was all shooting & fighting certainly not a 'love your fellow man' type of Christian movie. Maybe more for the boys but my Husband didn't think a great deal of it either.
(Maybe) - review by Ann
Found this to be a very strange, dark story with a hard to follow storyline, didn't help that I expected Stephen Moyer (Bill Compton - True Blood) to sprout fangs and bite 'Mary' on the neck any minute. . . . . . still not sure if it was 'Mary's' life portraying art and vise versa or a story of history repeating itself? ? ? ? ?
(Don't bother!) - review by Ann
As with many 'true' stories this has an average storyline but it is well acted and a touching if sometimes frustrating feel to it. Go into it knowing the outline and you won't be disappointed, we enjoyed it very much.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
Slow to get started but well worth sticking with it. Brilliant cast and very well acted but I think a more mature audiance would appreciate it than teenagers or young adults.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
Great movie and I enjoyed it nearly as much as the first and that was excellent. Still hard to follow the conversations at times as Robert Downey Jr speakes so fast but I still managed to follow the plot.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Would highly recommend this movie for parents & teenagers that think the internet is a safe & danger free inviroment, shows the very really danger that can come into each and every home in this age of modern personnal tecnology. . . Yes. . it can happen to YOU! ! !
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
A fair movie if a somewhat predictable one. something about it reminded me of 'Panic Room', rich couple, spoilt Daughter hire contractors to do house renovation that see too much of the life style and habits of the family and ddecide to come back and rob them to pay off their drug debts but the couple decide to fight back and the robbers plans begin to fall apart and they turn on each other.

An easy watch 'chick flix' about how racism went throught the different generations of housewives in the 50-60's, a little slow at times BUT the main problem I had was following the story with the broad Mississippi accents. Would like to read the book now.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
I found this a very touching movie and certainly has some thought provoking scenes. George Clooney is certainly in a class of his own and his brillaint acting ability shines through. Much more than the easy to watch light family movie I was expecting. . . . !
(Excellent) - review by Ann
This was a really great surprise. . . . . I don't usually like movies that are very 'Aussie' stereo type and I certainly dislike movies that turn stupid 'drunking' school boy humour into comedy. . . . . .but this is one of the funniest movies I have seen in a long time, the story line is different and the acting brilliant, Olivia Newton John is absolutely fabulous and so 'NOT' her type of character. I enjoyed every minute and would recommend it for a fun, laugh filled, light evening of comedy with just enough 'romance' for the girls but not too much to turn the guys off!
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Very confusing and I couldn't get past the blond 'Sherlock' ( Benedict Cumberbatch) ! ! !

I requested this one for the Grandchildren Breanna 8yrs & Hayden 11yrs but neither of them found it very interesting and I have to admit I was expecting alot better from the write ups I'd seen.

Brilliant movie deep, touching, emotional and breath takeing, personnallyl I don't like 'war' themed movies BUT this is just so very much more, a movie of unconditional love and strength. Must have the tissues handy, if you don't cry in this one you don't have a heart! ! ! !
(Not to be missed!) - review by Ann
A wonderful family movie, guaranteed to entertain from 9 to 90 yrs and tick all the right boxes. This would be a good one to have in your own DVD collection to put on anytime.

Great movie, I can see why it has been compared with 'Love Actually' & 'Valentine's Day' as it also has several story lines and couples throughout. main theme is 'love' in all it's different forms as the couples interweave between each others lives for various reasons as they all approach New York's Time Square and the dropping of the New Year's Eve Ball. A brilliant line up of stars that just keep coming and it is fun just to 'spot the star'. A good evenings viewing light viewing with a little touch of everything love, happiness, sadness, compassion, Jon Bon Jovi is always great to hear sing and Zac Efron is so very 'easy' to watch. . . yummm!

Bearing in mind this is a documentary NOT a movie as such, it is a wonderful momento to celebrate sixty years of Queen Elizabeth 11 reign as our Queen and soveriegn, lovely pictures of the young Princess's, the wedding to Prince Philip and The Coronation in 1953 just as television was starting out. Touching memories of Princess Diana are included and many, many other 'young Royals' as they grow up. I thououghly injoyed ever minute and shared some precious history with my Grandchildren, made me very proud to be part of the Commonwealth with such a rich and glorious heretage. It is also the perfect gift for my Mum(84yrs) for Mother's Day.

Absolutely brilliant, without a doubt Meryl Streep is one of the most talented & capable actress of our time. This film is a look at the career & life of one the world most influential and remarkable women in decades, an icon in British politics, it is a look at her life/times through her eyes after the death of her loving & supportive Husband Denis, as her health & ages catches up with her. I think you would have to have an interest in English history and politics to fully appreciate how touching and moving this rendition is. I was so impressed I will be buying a copy for my own very 'English' Mum for Mother's Day and I'm sure she will enjoy it as much as she did 'Queen' with Helen Merrin in 2006.

Vampires, shape shifters, werewolves. . . who would have guessed what was to come next. . . fairies! ! ! Of course? ? ? Thought the series was getting a bit too 'bloody & gore' but this disc has brought it back into what the first two series where like for me. Looking forward to the last disc of this series.

This is such a unique 'red neck' & 'southern belle' vampire show and sooo easy to get addicted to, no soft and romantic Edwards & Bella here, all fangs, sex & blood but still plenty of hot steamy bodies! ! ! ! Love it!

This is total 'escapism' and i loved every minute, as good as the two previous series with some new and frightening characters added.

Love Torchwood, still think it is lacking slightly from the original stories but still too good to miss. Can't recommend it highly enough, ticks all the boxes for me.

Very simple story about the very real dangers of a typical young girl when they 'meet' a stranger on-line. Didn't rely on shock tactics or way out senarios to get the point across but certainly makes it in a easy to understand realistic way. I would lke to see this movie made compulsary viewing for all young people that have access to the internet and think 'that could never happen to me'. Good viewing with a very relevant for today storyline.

Absolutely brilliant, so excited to have 'Torchwood' back on our TV screens, I do miss the original cast and the original setting in Cardiff, Wales BUT the story line is as excellent as ever exciting, thrilling and has you on the edge of your seat throughout. . . John Barrowman. . wow! Can't wait until the next disc arrives! ! ! !

Just a really bland story, not 'bad' just dull and boring.

Absolutely brilliant to see another season of this great show. A little disappointing to see it's filmed in the USA not the beautiful Welsh countryside but Captain Jack & Gwen are wonderful back together and the storyline is as compelling and intriguing as ever, very much looking forward to the next disc to arrive and see it unfold.

Didn't find this at all funny it was jusy silly and inmature, what I would call 'school boy' bathroom humour, far too much bad language. Don't bother complete waste of time.
(Don't bother!) - review by Ann
I wanted to say this was a beautiful movie but the storyline is far too disturbing, it is a very slow moving movie but it needs to be as the theme is controversal and dark it takes 'lost love and 'motherhood' to an all time new level, the last ten minutes is the most thought provoking and stays with you long after you have turned the telly off, my advice, don't watch it too late at night or it could keep you awake like it did me.
(Maybe) - review by Ann
This is a really disturbing movie that shows how easily a spoilt little rich girl with too many rampant hormones, too much money, an unstable homelife and access to the internet could distroy a persons life, career and reputation. Frightening to think how this could turn into a reality! ! ! !

Unique storyline where money is replaced by 'time', reminded me me of a cross between 'The Matrix' & 'The Adjustment Bureau', highlights social hierarchy in our world today but taken to a whole new level. Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried are brilliant as the young couple from the opposite side of the tracks or in this case 'different zones' as they pair up to fight poverty & injustice in a futuristic world. Great viewing and thought provoking.

After reading some of the reviews here I wasn't sure about this one BUT we loved it. . . . if you just accept it for what it is a light hearted fun filled romantic story you will enjoy it very much. It reminded me of 'Love Actually' not in storyline but with several stories/characters that all join up/interact with each other, great ending with everyone living 'happily ever after'. I did watch it a second time (as I did with Love Actually also) to get all the characters lined up.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Really enjoyed this one, it has been awhile since I have seen a good sci-fi/alian movie and this had good acting from the kids and a good storyline even if a bit predictable with the government/military cover up. Not just the kids film I was expecting. Good evening viewing if you like science fiction.

This one is 'Tombraider' meets 'Da Vinci Code' ! ! ! It was your typical archiologist movie this time looking for Solomens lost diamond mine with the help of a young security guard from the Vatician. All you usual 'nasties' including snakes & thieves etc, though I was impressed that the violence was very low and there was no 'Indiana Jones' type theatrics! ! ! I actually enjoyed it, good storyline that holds your attention and the young actors played their parts very well.
(Maybe) - review by Ann
A lot of nothing really, young newly wedded, marriage counselor finds it hard to come to terms with her parents announcement they are getting a divorce, the storyline follows both Mum & Dad and their newly found 'freedom', the daughters not so ethical attempts at getting them back together and the new Husbands resentment at not being his young brides first priority. All pretty average but it filled in an hour.
(Don't bother!) - review by Ann
As a huge fan of the 'classic' 1984 Kevin Bacon/Sarah Jessica Parker's "FOOTLOOSE" this was destined to be a poor copy for me personnally BUT again it is your typical teenage story and I love to teacher the next generation that they didn't invent 'being rebelious' we did our share too. Some good memories but I'm off to watch the original AGAIN! ! ! !
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
I was expecting a lot from this movie and I wasn't disappointed, Richard Gere as always was brilliant as the older FBI agent full of suspense, action, intrigue, agents, double agent and secret identities over the previous twenty years. Martin Sheen also played his part very well as the CIA boss and the young CIA agent full of new ideas (and a secret mission for the Russians) was an excellent young actor Topher Grace. Storyline is fast moving and keeps you wondering right until the end. If you like spy movies with political overtones and top secrets you will love this one.

I personnally found this difficult to watch as I was born and adopted in the UK in1953, I was lucky enough to be adopted be a warm & loving family but as the saying goes, 'There but for the grace of God go I', a very hard and dramatic film to sit through but I did as I wanted to know the children's story.

I've given this movie a low rating not because it was 'bad', it was just non eventful. It was lighthearted yes but not particularly 'funny', it was sort of northing. The storyline is just about how many boys a girl should have sex with before she finds 'Mr Right'. . . a young woman who is about to be her younger Sister bridesmaid discovers she has 'slept' with more men than her girlfriends, so decides to revisit her former boyfriends to see if she 'missed' something in her relationships, only to find (of course) that her perfect mate is her neighbour right across the hall! ! ! Definately one for the older girls, my Husband just went to sleep.

Your typical teenage horror/gore movie but disappointing when compared to 'Scream', 'Friday the13th' or 'Nightmare on Elm Street' which were the ones in my day or maybe I'm just older? ? ? No more mysterious phone calls it is all done by mobile phone, email and GPS apparently! ! ! Very poor storyline, poorer acting, at least in my day we found out at the end who were doing the murders and why this was just confussing and where was the beautiful heroine/hero that 'survives'? ? ??
(Don't bother!) - review by Ann
Absolute gutter entertainment. This should have been a good movie but it is spoilt by coarse language, vulgar, rude, sex scenes and themes. Its the same old cosmic/supernatural body changing scenario only this time with long time school friends, one a busy married man with a hectic business and home life envies his bachelor, free living and loving irresponsible best firends life style and vise versa, so they 'pee' in a fountain and life takes a strange turn.
(Don't bother!) - review by Ann
I was very pleasantly surprised by this one and enjoyed it much more than I thought I would, more than the run of the mill 'silly' romantic comedy. An excellent storyline that I think most people could relate to, good acting and hold your attention throughout. A good evening viewing.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
As much as I love the 'Twilght Saga' it was nice not to have 'vegetarian' vampires and 'inprinting' werewolves this time and go back to see a good old neck biting vampire sink his teeth into the helpless love interest of the 'hero' of the story. My Husband still rolled his eyes and started the age old discussion on why women always find vampires so romantic, appealing and handsome? ? ? ? ? If you like vampire movies you will love this one.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
Very pleasantly surprised with this movie. I'm not a great lover of Jim Carrey's type of humour but the whole family loved this one, it was funny, cute characters and an actual 'story line' that was very, very good. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this one for the whole family to enjoy together.

Our 8yr old Granddaughter loved this one at the cinema and again loved it on DVD. . . definately one I have to add to our home DVD collection for the Grandchildren. It brought back some nice memories of children growing up.

Without a doubt the BEST MOVIE I have seen in quite awhile. It has everything drama, adventure, espionage, touch of romance, heartache(nice to see a super hero that can shed a tear), one for the whole family except very young ones. The storyline holds your attention, the acting is exceptional this is the first time I have seen one of the young 'Twilght' series stars without thinking of the original films, Taylor Lautner is going to be a young actor with a big future. Brilliant movie can't recommend it highly enough, have to buy a copy for our home libruary now.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Ann
Very much a 'girlie' movie about a high school bully and her victim several years down the track when they meet up again and the consequences of their high school experiences on them both, over three generations. Certainly wouldn't class it as a 'comedy' though there are some comic scenes, I found it to be rather a sad movie! ! !

I'm a little disappointed, I was expecting a little more to the storyline! ! ! ! A young couple meet at college to become 'best friends' the story is over the next twenty years with her loving him from a distance while he blunders through life with women, success, alchol, drugs, failure, marrage & subsequent divorce. Just when she finds success and happiness, Dexter turns up and declares his love and they finally get married . . . . 'happy ever after'. . . . .

I enjoyed this movie but yes it is a little drawn out & slow moving BUT the storyline is a good one! William Hurt plays his part excellently as a man looking for his Wife/love after six years in jail. Kristen Stewart is also very good as a young troubled teen (though not sure about the southern drawl, a little grating). A good evenings viewing if you don't expect too much.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
Rude, crude and vulgar, what I would call school boy toilet humour (boobs & willies)! ! ! How they got two star like Cameron Diaz & Justin Timberlake to be part of this trainwreck I can't imagine! ! ! A total waste of 2hrs unless you like to hear needless swearing don't bother.
(Don't bother!) - review by Ann
Found this to be a rather 'slow' movie, a young couple who have been married/long term relationship for seven years and how they both handle the temptaions when the Wife acidently run into an old lover and the Husband is on a business trip with an attractive co worker collide. . . a very predictable storyline. Not sorry I watched it but wouldn't recommend it very highly or watch it a second time.

Very disappointing movie it was just tastless, cheap and most importantly NOT FUNNY unless you like swearing, vomiting and diahorea ! There is a storyline there but badly told and terrible acting, the best part of the whole movie was the last five minutes.
(Don't bother!) - review by Ann
A very good film, my Husband particularly enjoyed it as did the teenage Grandsons. Fast action scenes but enough 'romance' to keep the ladies watching, you have to give it your full attention and don't expect a 'happy ever after ending' , cetainly a stand out performance by Jake Gyllenhaal. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it if you want a fast paced, action packed, thought provoking movie.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Very disappointed in this one it was mainly two 'pretty' people rolling around in bed sheets, not much depth to the story line though it did try to touch on some serious topics like Dylan's Dad's Alzheimer's and their family dynamics and Jamie trying to' find' herself with a single Mum from the seventies 'free love' lifestyle but apart from this a very ordinary story about friends that try to take it too the next level without all the 'emotional baggage'. . . . . . . . you just know from the start it's NOT going to happen, BUT HAY Justin Timberlake naked can't be all bad! ! ! !

As always with the 'Buddies' movies my Grandchildren from 2 to 14yrs just loved it and watched it over & over again, these are always a great family favourite over the school holidays particularly.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
With two stars like Jodie Foster & Mel Gibson you would be guaranteed of a good quality film. Enjoyed isn't a word I would associate with a storyline about depression and mental illness but it's certainly food for thought and highlights how it can impact on people's lives, their family and friends, it brings out of the closet self harm, suicide and how we handle strees & grief BUT it also has funny moments and a quirky novelty to an otherwise sad situation. I think it is a film well worth watching as long as you know what subjects it covers.

Fabulous movie, loved the modern take on this Charlotte Bronte classic. Read the story as a child and its sadness, mystery, intrigue and characters have always held my spellbound and this new version doesn't loose any of the original 'beauty' though that is a 'funny' word to use for such a sad story. Loved the costumes, countryside, buildings and old world majesty about this wonderful story. If you like historical romances(Wuthering Heights, Little Women etc) you will fall in love with it like I did.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Ann
Had this out for my Granddaughter Breanna who is 8yrs old she enjoyed watching it very much but told me it was a bit 'babyish'. Brought back some nice memories for me though.

Really disappointing, I expected much more from a Nicholas cage movie! The first half hour is mainly the fighting in The Crusades and the church 'Smitting Poor Sinners Down in Vengance'. . . . . ! The 'suspected' witch looks more like a virgin sacrifice for the most part. the final scenes with 'the devil' are sort of action packed but it is really just a dark, plague filled, middle ages story with many historical inaccuracies throughout. It did just fill in a few hours however.

We are huge Tom Hanks fans so knew this was going to be good regardless. . . certainly not one of his 'classic' or 'memorable' films (like Forrest Gump or Da Vinci Code) but still worthy of a high recommendation for good all round feel good enjoyment. An easy film to watch, at the end we felt we had spent a couple of hours of good movie viewing. Reading this back it sounds a little bland but that really isn't the case, it was a great movie, so please give it a go.

A wonderful Australian 'family' film, though be aware of the sad parts for the younger children. I was very pleasantly surprised as I thought it was going to be a case of all advertising hype but it was so much more, a great movie, a great story, well acted and not much of the broad, cruder side of Australian humour that is sometimes evident. I would recommend this one for the whole family for a great evenings viewing.

Pleased to be back watching the 2nd season, a story of how complicated relationships can be behind closed doors of what looks like a perfect 'normal' married couple with their family. Like a duck calm where it can be seen and paddleing like made beneath the surface.

Really enjoyed this whole series, it has shown a way of life that I knew nothing about, even if you don't approve of their choices or views on religion the characters are wonderful and you can't help falling 'in love' with them. Very much looking forward to seeing how season 2 unfolds from the heart breaking cliff hanger ending.

Find this a very interesting series, learning alot about the Mormon religion and the beliefs behind poligomy, certainly not my kind of lifestyle but interesting to see how these wonderful characters interact. . . . . . . . forget the 'Mother In Law' jokes in this series we have major Father In law problems! ! ! ! !

Beautiful movie well acted, interesting storyline, remimded me of 'Downton Abbey' but that may be Maggie Smith plays the family matriarch in this one too and has several others from the TV series. Does have some supernatural themes so be aware for younger children. A really lovely film showing how strong family ties are through the generations.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Ok .. . . . . . not quite sure what I was expecting but it certainly wasn't this but once I got used to Bill Paxton's bare butt constantly hopping in and out of each wifes bed the story really began to take shape. Think it is going to be interesting to see the different personalities develop over the next few episodes, so I'm definately looking forward to seeing more.

A very unusual movie for Jim Carrey and I think I prefer this side of him, without all the sillyness! ! ! I felt I wanted to give it another * and I'm not sure why I didnt? ? ? ? The storyline got better as you get into the movie, it certainly holds your interest right up to the end. Would recommend this, not as a Jim Carrey movie BUT as a definate 'suspence thriller' with a good storyline, good acting and an expected twist at the end. . . . .with a little of the supernatural thrown with 'Ned' the dog as 'Guardian Of The Dead'.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
If you are a Captain Jack Sparrow fan from the previous movies you will again love this next installment. . . . . . many of our favourite characters are back again but sadly a few have not returned, new characters introduced this time around are full of chrisma, drama, beauty and adventure, still not sure about mermaids with vampire tendencies! ! ! ! This movie seemed to have an easier storyline to follow, not as dark and ghostly as previous plots. Our whole family have been waiting for this one to be released and we are not disapointed, though maybe not for young ones as they loose interest very quickly.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Ann
A very disappointing movie with a disjointed storyline which is really rather 'depressing', it portrays every negative cliché about marriage and monogamy ever heard and almost encourages married couples to have affairs and other sordid suggestions to 'spice up' married life! ! ! ! The best part was certainly the 'happy ending' when the two couples finally come to their senses and realise 'that the grass isn't greener on the other side'. . . . . obviously not one for family viewing with adult themes throughout.
(Maybe) - review by Ann
Definately great easy watch comedy and you pick up on Owen Wilson's quirky sence of humour throughout! Not one how ever for family viewing as there are loads of adult themes, there are 'flat' spots in the storyline but 'what you see is what you get' an adult comedy and good viewing for the big kids! ! !
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
An OK movie for a wet, overcast, windy afternoon. Paul Rudd played his part very well, Steve Carrell was more 'strange' than funny for the most part ! ! ! ! Nearly turned it off at first but pleased I stayed with it as the ending was really very good, enjoyed it for a once only viewing! ! ! !

As Donny Osmond said "I'm a little bit Rock'N'Roll" more than Marie's "a little bit country" so this was never going to be my favourite movie! ! ! BUT once you get past the slow American country drawl it's a good movie with a great cast, Gwyneth Paltrow has a nice voice so the music is the best part of the whole film, the storyline is some what predictable and at times slow, if you like country music you will love this film otherwise it is just a easy simple watch.

If you are a Scream fan from the previous three movies you certainly won't be disappointed in this next chapter. It has a touch of a more modern film but still has all the 'charm' of the previous storylines and it is great to see the favourite characters (with original actors) back again. I can see anothr generation enjoying a run on the original films and would love to see more new ones. Another Classic Teenage Slasher Thriller just a little older like me! ! ! ! Good fun!

Much more than the romantic storyline that I was expecting. Robert Pattinson is brilliant (though being a 'Twilight' fan he will always be 'Edward' for me) and plays his part with compelling sincerity, Reese Witherspoon isn't 'Bella' but plays a great part in this movie. Animal lovers will find some scenes a little disturbing in the treatment of the animal in the circus but overall a very good believable story for the time and lifestyle in the 1930's with proabition & great depression.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Left feeling a little disappointed, nothing new in the storyline but you can only do so much in a 'haunted' phychiatric hospital ward, has the usual electro theraphy and array of grusome medical instruments. The twist at the end didn't really go anywhere I felt the movie wasn't finished? ? ?

If you are a 'Shrek' fan, as always you will just love this latest one! I feel as if my Grandchildren have all grown up watching these movies from the first 'fart' in the mud pool (that killed the fish) right up to the triplets 1st birthday party. . . . . . maybe it should be "once a Shrekie - always a Shrekie"! ! !

Not knowing the cast of this one I wasn't sure but now very pleased I had requested it. It started off as the usual 'haunted house' scenerio but very quickly takes an unusual turn into the realm of astro travel, soon found I was sitting on the edge of my seat and certainly wasn't expecting the surprise ending. An excellent movie if you like a thriller into the supernatural.

A very realistic movie I think about a teenage boy contemplating suicide as he finds it difficult to cope with parental expectations, first love, pier pressure, todays modern enviroment and world events. Craig admits himself into a phychiatric clinic and finds his problems very small in comparison to real mental problems and health issues. He finds true love, the strength to make his own decissions and a very real gift at helping people in need.

A very disturbing & depressing story line about a group of cloned children for the sole purpose of organ donations, think it will give me nightmares for a while. Modern science gone mad, makes you re think the whole idea of organ donation and puts a spotlight on the selfish side of human nature! ! ! !

Find it hard to believe it was a true story, no one can be that unlikeable. Not a big lover of Jim Carrey in the best of his movies this confirmes it. Possibly the worst movie I have seen in a long time. Don't waste your time especially if you have children about.

I was very pleasantly surprised with this one, after hiring 'Hop' all last weekend for the Granddaughter I was dreading another round of Russell Brand's voice BUT it was a very good film, certainly not a classic though very funny and a good story line so I didn't notice the voice as much. A light entertaining movie and it doesn't matter if the kids are around as there are no vulgar launguage or sex scenes, a lot of drinking throughout.

Very disappointing we have seen this type of storyline many, many times, a man wrong accused and jailed for a murder he didn't commit and an 18yr battle by his sister(this time) to prove his innocence with the new DNA science. Characters are well played by the main actors just we have seen this format in many film.

Brilliant casting in this one, a story of four young friends (three men and a women) before war shatters their carefree world. The young couple desperately in love marry secretly (though all three friends love the young lady) before the boys fly off to war and the promise they make to take care of the young bride if anything should happen. The young husband is killed in Ireland and the story starts 50yrs latter in USA at the funeral of the second fellow who married the women and the secrets and heartache that lasted all this time are brought to light when the first husbands wedding ring is found in the plane wreckage. Wonderfully tender love story once you get into it but a little confusing until you understand the conncections of time and places.

Very pleasantly surprised with this movie as I can't stand Robert Williams! Unusual story line and 'heaven' & 'hell' are interestingly depicted in this movie, good acting by the leads, lovely scenery and holds your attention through the entire movie. This could easily becoming a family favourite as it is tender, loving and heart warming even through the very sad parts and there are several of these too.

Loved it, loved it, loved it, actually watched it twice. . . . ! If you love all the 'fantasy' films with warewolves, vampires, angels, demons & other downworlders that are so popular at the moment you will love it too, Total escapism with the beautiful girl torn between too gorgeous men(though not quite as handsome as Edward/Jacob), the mysterious old world village with its history and fmily secrets! ! ! With a good twist at the end, even I wasn't expecting to see who the warewolf was? ? ? ?

A modern day adventure film that reminded me of 'The Poseidon Adventure' or 'Towering Inferno' from years ago. A team of explorers are traped in underground caves in New Guinea as a hurrican hits and the river water rises forcing them to find an alternative way out, the emotional and physical challenges that have to be meet and as always in extreme crises human nature fails us or pushes us on to safety. BUT why, why, why does Australian films have to have the swearing all the way through every film! ! !

Great movie a real sci fi action packed attention getter. Typical storyline (bit like superman)only it's 9 children with super powers & their guardians are sent to earth to save their species from mass distruction from another threatening alien species that follow them to earth and try to kill them off one by one and the battle takes place in a local suburban high school. Three are killed and two young warriors go in search of the remaining four from their planet. Think the young adults would like this one too as it has a touch of the teenage romance. Hopeing there will be more too follow would be a great series.

Had to watch it a second time to really get the whole concept but it is modern, well thought out, believable storyline which involves high business dealings, illegal activity and a common everyday young man battleing to be a successful novalist.

Found this to be a little 'dark', a somewhat revised story of The Biblical Brothers Cain & Able. One Brother is happily married and the other a 'black sheep' just released from prison are both involved in a car accident and in comas, the shadey Brother wakes claiming to be his law abiding, married Brother and tried to convince the young bride, who desperately wants to believe that her Husband is still with her. Not a sit on the edge of your seat thriller but a good story non the less and does hold your attention.

Pleasantly surprised with this movie it was an easy, entertaining, simple movie for an afternoons viewing, a a nice change to have no swearing, violance or intence 'baddie'! ! ! ! A believable 'story' of the love triangle between lovely young woman Jessie( a little damaged from a previous divorce), a great young man(Ethan) looking for love and success in his career as a novelist and another young man(Troy) that is modern, sophisticated and successful? ? ? ? BUT don't be fooled the ending is surprising and brilliant!

This movie started out so badly that I had to keep watching it to see how it would progress AND I was pleasantly surprised where it took me! There are some funny moments and lovely(if a little cheesey) scenes, you have to get around the New Zealand accent, you have to love the music of 'Queen' and just sit back and enjoy it for what it is a romantic comedy! ! !

Disturbing! I watched this one after viewing 'Unknown' which I really enjoyed. I think I put too much 'real life' context on this one with having three daughters myself I found it made me angry & ill that there really are foreign men with too much money, such 'sick' ideas about women and such little respect for law & order and can so easily turn a blind eye to the evil in this world. As far as just an action movie it had lots of guns, noise and car chases and Liam Neilson is always a brilliant actor.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
Wow! Not often a thriller has me guessing right until the end! ! ! The cast do a great job of holding your attention with lots of action, twists and turns, the storyline has a well hiddden ending. . . . . . . never take for granted that the 'goodie' is really a good person and that a 'baddie' can't do the correct thing in the end? ? ? ? I'm looking forward to watching 'Taken' now with Liam Neilson.

Think this is more a story for history buffs than entertaining! My Husband enjoyed it more than I did, it just had too much political & military dialogue for me but Tom Hanks & Julia Roberts pay their parts brilliantly.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
Not a movie I would say I 'enjoyed' but did find it an interesting study of how different people handle a personnal tragedy! The two main leads are played to perfection and I think previous reviews have understated this side of the movie. A very sad story line but it doesn't bring the watcher to tears, I found the look at the young man who was involved in the tragic accident very compelling.

As with any movie Johnny Depp is involved with it is rather strange! Thought my Grandchildren would have liked it but they just got bored with it and didn't really hold much intesest for my Husband and myself. Rather disappointing.

A modern take on the 'spoilt, selfish, superficial, high school super stud' and his lesson in humility and tolerence. Definately a 'young adult' film that is the 'in thing' at the moment but with a modern day witch this time no vampires or warewolves! Mature audences don't look for anything to deep but it does have a good lesson in the storyline. My 14yr old Granddaughter loved it. and we didn't mind it either if you just want to fill in a couple of hours and we can't let the kids have all the fun.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
Excellent storyline BUT slow! Not Matt Damon's usual type of movie but he played his part very well, three people from different backgrounds(and countries) that cross paths and influence each others lives in important ways, the young boy who looses his twin Brother is so heart breaking, lost & shy but has great determination in finding a way to contact his twin after his tragic death. Well worth watching and the ending is lovely.

We enjoyed this movie very much, more of a love story than a complex 'thriller' and the two main leads were played very, very well. Don't look too deeply into the storyline as the idea is that 'mankind' has made such a mess of 'running the world' with 'free will' that a higher being (in this case 'The Chairman') now runs our lives with a bunch of 'secret agents' in hats bring us back on track when chance or fate takes a wrong turn. In this story it is an ambitious young politician running for office in New York, ultimately The White House, meets a beautiful young ballerina and falls in love with her, 'The Bureau' tries to change the outcome with the least amount of 'ripples' in the scheme of things!

Took my 8yr old Granddaughter to see this at the cinema yesterday and she loved it, can't wait for it to come out on DVD it is going to be a family favourite for sure! ! ! !

There was so much more to this movie than I thought there was going to be, a love story between a beautiful young girl trying to come to terms with having Parkinsons Desease and a competetive drug company rep trying to live up to his family's expectations. A movie about accepting lifes challenges and opportunities and 'growing up'. Thought there was too much nudity that distracted from the good storyline and was there only for shock value and cheapened an otherwise, very good evenings viewing.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
I did enjoy this movie but have some reservations in recommending it too highly? There are a lot of characters and you have to try and follow each of their stories which is a little confusing at times, you have the complicated writers/authors staying at the retreat being held at a little B

A warm and touching love story, beautifully acted with gorgeous custumes, love stories set in this era they are so elegent and gentele. Not a fast paced storyline and the speech was a little 'mumbled' in places which made it hard to hear at times.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
With the line up of good actors in this movie it should have been much better than it was. Nothing wrong with it but nothing right about it either, just a very uninteresting, disjointed story about a love triangle with a confusing illegal/shady business practice by the Father (Jack Nicholson) of one of the young men involved thrown in for no apparent reason? ? ? ? A lot about nothing! ! !

So very, very disappointing! Romantic comedy is our favourite type of movie and this was just so 'off'', we could see what they wanted to achieve a modern, up beat fast moving comedy but this was just a crude, shallow, tasteless attempt at anything.

Great film but then I'm always a 'sucker' for the underdog and love to see right triumph over injustice. It has captured the style, feel and atmosphere of the working class in the UK in the memorable 60's, absolutely loved the music. Will appeal to women more than men but it isn't a typical 'chick flix', not really sure I would class it as comedy either?

I was very, very surprised with this film not being a Russell Crowe fan I was expecting the same old thing BUT it was a good story, well acted and had me sitting on the edge of my seat several times, the little boy/son is such a sweetheart you can't help feel for him also John's parents as their world is turned upside down by circumstances beyond their control. Excellent evenings viewing and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

I was personnally disappointed, not sure what I was expecting but it wasn't a strange, very sexual film about a shy, over protected, schizophrenic young girl that pushes herself into a nervous breakdown and kills herself in the effort to be the pefect prima ballerina as 'The Black Swan' in classic ballet of Swan Lake. Still scratching my head about what was really and what wasn't. my Husband didn't bother and just went to sleep! ! !

A very 'slow' film, a non eventful romance between a lonely Wife waiting for her Husband to join her in Cairo and the good looking man that was sent to look after her until he arrived. The beautiful scenery of the pyramids is the best part of the whole movie. Very disappointing.

I didn't see the first movie so can't compare it. Enjoyed this movie very much it has some very funny lines and moments, owonderful to see something that didn't mind being 'politically incorrect', it is a simple story and a little naughty, obvious story line but a pleasant light evenings viewing don't look too deep and accept it for what it was meant to be a simple funny movie with a happy ending.

Absolutely brilliant, a magical mix of old music hall and modern music. Cher as always is at her dignified if withdrawn best, her voice is wonderful, I wasn't a fan of Christina Aguilera but the part she played was fantastic and loaded with talent. If you like musicals old or new this will be a great movie and you will enjoy every minute, intend to buy it so we can watch it agin

Very, very disappointed in this movie after all the hype! The only funny parts are in the trailer. I 'get' the idea is to portray friendship but for me it is just lies, distrust, foolish behaviour and an unfaitful spouse. The is the second Vince Vaughan movie I have seen recently and totally disappointed in both.

Brilliant movie both main actors portray their characters to perfection, this movie deserves all the awards it has won and more. It was lovely to have watched this movie over the weekend of the Royal Wedding of Kate

This is a very moving movie and far from a comedy. It tells the modern story of a young women just after the death of her baby from SIDS as she tries to come to terms with her emotions, new marriage, step son and husbands ex wife. it tries very hard to show it from her point of view as 'The Other Woman' and you do feel very sorry for her at times but doesn't quite make you like her any better! ! ! Just not a nice movie all round.
(Maybe) - review by Ann
This is a very 'ordinary' movie nothing really wrong with it, it just lacked any depth or interest. Very disappointing.

A very, very good family movie (be it some what of a 'chick flix'), the story is a little predictable with the unprepared God Parents of a beautiful little girl raising her after her parent are killed in a car accident., the 'Mum' a very professionally driven woman and the 'Dad' a handsome ladies man make for some very funny situations. If you are looking for a fun light movie this is a definate winner for the family.

A great movie if you love British comedy, Bill Nighly is his usual brillant self as the stiff upper lip, very proper British gentleman dispite being a profesional hit man, Rupert Grint is his usual clumsy, bumbling character straight from Harry Potter, Rupert Everett not quiet up to his usual comic self as the wounded victim/baddy of the story and Emily Blunt is the lively, sexy, improper 'target' that everyone falls in love with. Not an exciting or high adventure story but a good, funny, sit back and enjoy British comedy.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
I was very disappointed in this one, there was a murder mystery there and the ending has an unusual twist but it had so much education/professor gabble that it is boring and long winded as the logic professor rambles on

A somewhat strange movie. . . After his Wifes death from cancer a man discovers on her pc that she has been having an affair for several years with another man, the Husband in his grief sets out to find 'The Other Man' in anger for revenge, they meet and without telling him who he is the Husband befriends the lover and the man shares the story of the women he is in love with. The story is a series of memories of both men and the couple's married Daughter. The Husband finally tells the man of the death of the Wife/Lover and they learn so much more about the woman they both loved and who loved them and themselves.

Can't believe this wonderful movie slipped through with me not seeing it before now! ! ! Richard Gere is (as always) just wonderful, this is a lovely simple story of the love of a dog for it's master, it's not thrilling, exciting, sexy or funny. . . it is just completely compelling and captivating, we love it from start to finish. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for the whole family.

A nice pleasant, easy watch movie with a modern storyline. Jennifer Aniston is always good in these romantic comedy and it works well with Jason Bateman opposite, not a lot of over the top silly comedy just a light hearted romance between 'friends' that through a serious of misadventures turns into much more! The little boy is a sweetheart.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
This is one of the lamest movies I have seen in a long time. It is a tired old story line of the 'in-laws' and 'out-laws' of a young couple planning their wedding the only difference is, it is full of racial slurs and inuendoes as the girls family are Mexican and the boys African/American. The Brides Father is a particular nasty/mean man and the Grooms Dad a single parent, ladies man. Of course the wedding goes off eventually and everyone lives happily everyafter. . . just hope there isn't a sequal when the kids come along! ! ! !
(Don't bother!) - review by Ann
Your very typical teenage 'horror' film but without Feddy or Jason! ! ! Instead we have a possessed 'wild' young cheerleader. . . a struggling pop group carry out a satanic ritual offering satin a virgin in exchange for power

I really enjoyed this movie more than I thought I was going to! It is a modern 'fairy tale' where the mystical girl from the sea turns out to be a Rumanian drug mule! ! ! 'Once Upon A Time' . . young Irish fisherman finds a beautiful women with no memory in his fishing net, he takes her home and the obvious happens, they fall in love, the mans very ill young Daughter believes 'Ondine' has magical powers to grant wishes especially when some good luck comes their way. The movie ends as all fairy tales do with the couple getting married but only after all their lives are threatend by the drug dealers turning up looking for their drugs and 'Ondine' is threatened with deportation. . . . they all live happily ever after. The hardest part of the movie is understanding the broad Irish brouge.

I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed this different Australian movie. It certainly isn't exciting or funny but an interesting story centered around the lonely life at a lighthouse. The central figure played by Miranda Otto is very well done and rather 'immoral' for a woman in the 1920's. Just sit back and watch the storyline unfold, beautiful scenery.

I was left feeling disappointed in this one, usually a huge Tim Allen fan this left me a little flat. Story set around the Daughter of a larger than life 'funny man' that has 'supposedly' died while on a holiday and the funeral arrangements are left to his only Daughter, his Mum, his Wife, his Fiance, five Ex Wifes and a strange funeral director! ! ! The Daughter suffers from serious commitment issues and a lovely 'boy friend' that wants to marry her. Does have some very touching moments but lacking in any real comedy that you expectfrom this cast.

Wonderfully funny movie for all the family, Brendan Fraser is his usual comic genius. Loved the little furry animals that take 'revenge' on those trying to 'steal' their habitat. The Grandchildren (7yrs to 14yrs) watched it over and over again for the weekend.

A very good movie with an excellent cast, you need to watch and listen to the dialogue, a little slow at times but still holds your attention. Certainly not a 'sit on the edge of your seat' kind of thriller but good steady story and an unexpetced rwist at the very end.

I enjoyed this movie very much and managed to follow the storyline easily, remembering of course that it is a sci fi and don't try to 'understand or rationalise' the way the film goes. It is well acted and a very unusual plot/theme, plenty of car chases and gun fire for the boys but has a love story entwined for us romantics. You have to follow and watch but it is a great movie to sit back and escape from reality.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Very strange movie and I found it hard to follow, still not sure I fully understand it? ? ? I think the story revolves around Anne, the adopted Daughter of a British MP at the beginning of WW2, when a group of wealthy aristocratics thought it was better to go against Sir Winston Churchill to 'make a deal' with the Nazi' than have the country go to war and cause them any 'incovenience'. To keep the beloved Daughter (who doesn't believe in their ideas) quiet the family keep her drugged, while 'killing off' her friends and co workers that share her beliefs. The actors play their parts brilliantly, if you want a movie to really watch and 'get into the plot' you will thououghly enjoy this one.

To say I 'enjoyed' this movie would be to over simplify it, being adopted myself this movie was a very emotional journey for me (though situation is vastly different). It is an incredible story of three amazing women who's lives intertwine, some very moving moments in all directions. You don't 'watch' this movie it is to take a 'journey' into the people involved lives. Highly recommended if you want to experince how situations

Like most of the other reviews for this movie recommends DO NOT think this is a family friendly movie there is far too much adult content and one lines, if you are a fan of David Spade, Adam Sandler, Rod Schneider you will enjoy this movie it is their usual kind of adult comedy. It does have some very funny moments and surprisingly a really nce ending, the guys will like this one too as there is lots of girls in bikins and short shorts! ! !
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
This isn't a comedy it is just a very sad tale about a strange, unmarried women who 'stalks' an unfortunate young man that was talked into a blind date by his parents. I'm a big fan of Sandra Billock comedies but was very disappointed in this movie. The best part is the last five minutes but don't expect the 'happy ending' where they finally fall in love and live happily ever after, the heroine doesn't get her man in this sorry tale! ! !

Very funny movie, great acting by Katherine Heigl
(Excellent) - review by Ann
To say I 'enjoyed' this movie would be 'incorrect' it intrigued and captivated me completely, it is certainly a beautiful, deep story of first young love but as it progresses it is so much more than that. brilliant acting by all main characters, you have to concentrate as it protrays three different stages of the couples lives. I found the nudity detracted from the story instead of enhanced it and felt so much of it wasn't necessary. A different look at the Nazi portral of the holocost and the type of story that stays with you long after the film has ended. A deep, touching movie with a sad shock ending.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Don't like movies with sub title so I have rated this movie lower than the story really deserves, fortunately the story line still comes through and holds your undivided attention.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
Renee Zellweger was brilliant in this movie as always and the little girl 'Lillith' certainly has an unnevering pressence about her. A some what predictable story line but plenty of suspence with twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat. Wouldn't hesitate to recommened this movie to lovers of suspence thrillers.

A light easy to watch 'chick flix', don't expect anything too much and you won't be disappointed, I continually thought of 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' and if you liked that movie you will like this one.

This movie made me ashamed and embarassed to be an Australian, why do we have to portray ourselves and drunken, immature, emotionally stunted yobo's?

The usual 'end of the world' senario with God sending his own angels to do the job this time, lots of shooting, angels disguised as 'zombies', car chases and a heroic group of troubled people with the AOL Archangel Michael trying to save the world and a baby due to be born that will save the world. Great battle scenes between the Archangels Gabriel (caring out Gods orders)
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Very impressed with this movie, I was expecting the usual 'romantic comedy' and yes that is there in bucket loads but the story line is unusual and quite unique in its concept. Certainly puts the spotlight on our materialist way of life these days and the preasure it can put on people and the emotional consequences? ? ? ? Definately much more than a 'chick flix'.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Definately a romantic comedy with the usual 'girl meets boy, don't like each other and of course end up falling in love' but with the added bonus of some beautiful scenes of Ireland, if you don't expect too much you will enjoy it for what it is a light, funny 'chick flix', excellent for a lazy Sunday afternoon.

The best way to describe this move is 'fun' it was light, easy to watch and very entertaining, one the whole family can enjoy from 9 to 90. Good storyline, great cast and I just loved the ending.

Life is tough enough without having to watch it in a movie as well. Found it very depressing and disappointing, can see why it was raved about when released but don't expect to 'enjoy' it isn't that kind of movie.
(Don't bother!) - review by Ann
Quite a good movie set in a very unusual enviroment, not a startling plot about stolen Russian diamonds, some gorey scenes but they fit in with the story line. Easy to watch with enough thrills to hold your attention, Alex O'Loughin is gorgeous as always BUT isn't the 'Aurora Borealis' in the northern hemisphere and the movie set in Antartica? ? ? ? ?

Not a movie for me, I really struggled to watch it, not sure why but with a Grandchild with special needs I felt it didn't do anything to help people understand the difficulties.

A very easy, light, funny movie to watch definately a 'chick flick' like most Jennifer Lopez's movies so nothing really new there as Zoe she decides to have a baby alone and of course meets the man of her dreams on the way home from the doctors office and the tangled love affair that builds around expecting twins, Alex O'Loughlin (from Moonlight) played his part really well and he is so handsome. If you liked the orgasm scene in 'When Harry Met Sally' you will love this one and if you have a squimish stomach at birth scenes forget it! ! !

Just brilliant. . . .I have really been looking forward to this movie as I'm becoming a great fan of Amanda Seyfried. This movie surpassed everything I had been expecting, so much more than the usual romance, unique storyline, wonderful acting by the main characters just love the Grandmother Claire, magnificent scenery in the Italian countryside, you can't go wrong in choosing this movie it ticks all the boxes for a great evenings viewing. . . in fact I will keep it another day and watch it again or even buy a copy to keep. Very highly recommended!

This was an easy to watch, entertaining movie about a newly separated 40yr old women with two children who move to the city and 'a cougar' style story line, after a pregency scare the couple decide the age difference is too big a problem and go their separate ways only to meet again several years later and find their feelings haven't changed. Not a exciting film but does have some very funny scenes.

The word that comes to mind is 'intense', the lead actors are fantastic in there different rolls and Robert Paterson is awesome and really shows what a talented actor he is, love the way his character interacts with his little Sister. Several storylines entwined very well, you can easily relate to the dramas

This is really a very strange movie at first we thought it was just silly BUT strangely it sucks you in, you know you want to turn it off but you can't. . . . . it is unique, unusual and a little disturbing, people really are very odd creatures? ? ? ? Good luck with it! ! ! !

A very good movie with and interesting story, wouldn't call it a comedy but there were some lighter moments, a twisted/complicated tale of a young man getting over heartbreak at his elderly Grandmothers who is suffering from the onset of dementure, a Wife with two Daughters coming to terms with an unfaithful Husband and breast cancer and a teenage Daughter who has all the 'demons' associated with growing up and boys. I watched it twice as the story was involved and I didn't want to miss anything. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend for good viewing.

I was pleasantly surprised with this movie, it turned out to be very good, an unusual story of surviving grief and loss after the death of a partner and/or loved one, the lead actors played their parts well and you go through a whole range of emotions with them and the storyline is 'different'. I would recommend this movie if you want a movie with a bit more than the usual run of the mill romantic comedy.

A pleasant enough movie, Colin Firth plays his part as the long suffering Husband/Father trying to 'do the right thing' very well, as does Jessica Beal as the very 'proper' Wife/Mother and dreaded Mother-in-Law. The story of a very proper English gentlemen who is the young Son of parents who expect him to 'rescue' the family financially by making a 'good marriage' but who suddenly marries an older, divorced, American women and the dramas that unfold for all when they return to England and the ancestral home. A very unexpected ending? ? ? ?

Not very often we turn a movie off half way through but this one was dull, boring and far too much needless swearing and smutty sexual content.

This isn't my usual type of movie and this was confirmed in the first ten minutes BUT as the story progressed you get caught up in it and don't see the violence (though it is certainly central to the storyline) makes you stop and think about our justice system and if we should have faith in it at all. Our young adult Daughters and partners loved it, as did my Husband and I would recommend it as a good film but not always comfortable and not for the children.

This is a wonderful movie, Sandra Bullock has surpassed herself brilliantly and shows she is so much more than a comic asctress. I usually find true stories can be a little boring/tame but this one held my interest from start to finish. It is warm, touching, real, sometimes funny while NOT being just another a 'chick' flic, plenty of sport scenes while not over taking from the storyline. A really great family movie and highly recommend it for a great evenings viewing.

Really disappointed in this movie I expected a much better film from an actor as iconic as Micheal Douglas, it was just a sad, miserable little story line about a middle aged family/business man having a mid life crises, just left us bored and uninterested.

The original 'Nanny McPhee' movie has been a family favourite for a long time and I'm thrilled to say this was just as wonderful for all ages 2 - 92 years, great easy to understand story line, full of funny side splitting scenes and sure to be another family favourite. Just adored the final scene with 'little Aggie' from the original movie, tied them together beautifully.

Absolutely beautiful movie and a lot more than the usual romantic 'chic flic', you have the total range of emotions and I'm sure is going to become a modern day classic with references to 9/11 and the war in Afganistan. Amanda Seyfried who got our attention in 'Mamma Mia' is blossoming into a very talented and beautiful actress. Don't hesitate to recommend this as a 'must see' movie.

We really enjoyed this movie after the slow start, the four main characters are very well played which is why I have given it an extra star. Don't think I would rush to watch it again but it is a good story of a much loved (if spoilt and protected) woman that leaves her philandering Husband with her two teenage Sons that spend most of their time looking after her than vise versa as she tries to regain her youth and ex boyfriends. The ending is surprising and lovely.

Typical true story of the little guy taking on a big company, the 'hero' is a strange bad tempered, obstinate man and I really couldn't feel a lot of sympathy for him BUT shows Ford as a rotten company as far as the directors were concerned. I felt very sorry for his Wife who had the sence to get out before he drove her crazy also! ! !
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
A silly, light, fun movie about young men, cheer leaders and high school camps. Easy to watch and just a bit of laughter watch it if you just want to be entertained.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
After reading other reviews I was not sure about this movie BUT I was pleasantly surprised, we really enjoyed it, nothing to rave about or out of the ordinary just a pleasant, easy to watch movie. Colin Firth always brings class to his movies and the more I see of Jeffery Dean Morgan (from PS I Love You) the more I enjoy him in these romantic comedies after seeing him as Sam
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
Not just very slow but very silly too BUT the last five minutes does leave you wondering, generally dissapointing movie.
(Maybe) - review by Ann
OK was the best I could describe this rather 'dull' movie, I kept watching because I hoped the ending would explain the strange young girls odd behaviour so the last ten minutes was the best part of the whole movie and a nice surprise, which is why I gave it an extra star.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Found this a very disappointing and depressing movie, a sad family taking their revenge on a nasty, philandering father/husband with a few other strange characters thrown in! ! ! !
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
Don't know how you could call this a comedy? I did enjoy this unusual story but foud it very slow, good acting by the two leeds (Kelly MacDonald
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
This is classic comedy that you would expect from these top actors, we had Grandchildren to stay when we watched this and had to repeat it several times as the whole family enjoyed it, modern storyline, good acting with nothing offensive, loved the children as the young twins. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this movie for an all round good evenings viewing for the whole family.

As a Heath Ledger
(Not to be missed!) - review by Ann
George Clooney's portrayal of a single, mature business man, with no ties and a job which soley involves firing people, is as always excellent, he takes on the characters personna well and plays is to perfection. We found it rather a depressing film and certainly not a comedy apart from the rare lighter side of the people around him. Definately a film that has to be watched and lisrened to, not a family movie.

As with many true life story it had some flat spots, Hilary Swank played the part of Amelia very well, with Richard Gere brillantly playing her Husband as would be expected from him and Ewan McGregor also excellent as the love interest. I imagine there was a lot of Amelia's life and accomplishments that we didn't see which was a pitty, I'm still not sure if she was reckless or a genuine adventurer? ? ? The ending was very emotional as you would expect, a pleasant movie and worth an evenings viewing but don't expect too much.

A pleasant enough movie but not one I would watch again, certainly not a comedy. Eight college friends get together after ten years for a wedding and all the usual 'soul searching' begins from ex romantic involvements now married, best friends that haven't spoken for years reuniting, and some that are coming to terms with life after 9 - 11, some more complicated than others, some very predictable. Ends with all being friends again and a little wiser to go back to their daily lives after the weekend

If you love Hugh Grant like we do you won't be disappointed, it is another Hugh classic romantic comedy. Slightly different as the couple are already married trying to reconcile and of course the road to 'happy ever after' is never easy! ! ! Lots of one liner's, many situations taken to the extreme as two New Yorkers suddenly find themselves in outback Wyoming. I'm not sure Sarah Jessica Parker would be my choice of actress to play opposite Hugh again as he has had some wonderful ladies in previous movies that have made some 'big shoes' to fill. Great movie, entertaining, funny, easy viewing and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it highly for the whole family.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Ann
Loved this movie, brilliantly cast with the performances you would expect from these great actors and looks like it was a fun movie to make. It is a funny, romantic, light, entertaining movie with some more serious and thought provoking scenes, for us this one ticked all the boxes and loved the idea of 'revenge for the first Wife'! ! ! ! Recommend it highly for a great evenings viewing.

Find it hard to write a review on this take of the usual Sherlock Holmes character, very confussing story line and certainly violent in places, I didn't really enjoy it myself but my Husband wasn't going to let it beat him so he watched it again and found he understood it better the second time around, so I guess it appeals more to a male audience, not light family entertainment and you certainly have to listen well to the dialogue.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
An easy, if predictable movie about a plus size teenager and her struggles with high school bullies, not a lot of comedy in fact a little sad in places but a pleasant family evenings viewing.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Really great movie if you like a good 'mystery/thriller', starts a little slow and confussing but you just know it is going to have a twist at the end and this one doesn't disappoint. . . . . . hope this isn't a SPOILER but if you liked 'Sixth Sense' - "I see dead people walking around like regular people" then this is the movie for you. . . . !
(Excellent) - review by Ann
This was a pleasant movie but not terribly exciting, nice to see some older people meeting and falling in love and of course Dustin Hoffman
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
This is a truely amazeing movie, I had to get up and watch it again next morning. . . not a true murder mystery as you know from the first few scenes who the murder is, it is the heartbreaking story of how family
(Not to be missed!) - review by Ann
This is a 'must see' movie for any Clint Eastwood fan he is just amazing and still has all the talent from the 'Dirty Harry' days, has an excellent storyline is very heart touching and has all the action you would expect.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Love this movie, bought my ticket to see this much awaited movie on opening night weeks before it was released in the theatre and I wasn't disappointed, much more indepth than the first 'Twilight' film but the same wonderful characters that we fell in love with. Have now gone out and bought my very own copy on DVD pleased to say it looses nothing on the small screen. Emjoy, Enjoy, Enjoy.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Ann
Very funny movie the more I watch Gerard Butler the more I fall under the spell of his special brand of 'rough around the edges' humour BUT please be aware this is not the movie for delicate ears it has many Adult Only lines and themes but they are not there just for shock value and fit in with the storyline. Excellent true romantic comedy entertainment. Enjoy.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Certainly not a comedy but a good drama, a trip down memory lane for those of us growing up in the sixties. Don't think it is 'politically correct' as it starts with a young girl getting into a strangers car for a ride home from school, school girls smoking, some bad choices by the parents and the glamorous side of married con men, not a good recipe but an acurate discription of growing up at that time in the UK..
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
Yes well this is certainly a strtange movie. . . it is 'The X Files' meets 'Pay It Forward', I assume 'aliens' have decided to 'test' the human race by tempting them with lots of money against our love for our fellow man while deciding if we are worthy of existing? ? ? ? Sadly they find us somewhat lacking! ! ! ! It left me feeling very depressed.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Really great movie, difinately unusual storyline and a little of everything mystery, sci fi, drama, comedy, lots of warm romance (but not too mushy) and just a touch of tears, excellently cast with Eric Bana
(Not to be missed!) - review by Ann
This is a typical 'chick flick' and yes I did enjoy watching it with reservations. . . . I couldn't help but continually compare it with 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding', not only with the actors but it seemed to have so many similar themes in the storyline. I think it tried too hard to copy the original success but it didn't work this time. The worst part of the whole film is 'Genieves' wardrobe! ! !
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
Amazing, guaranteed to be a Srar Trek classic. Just love seeing the young James Kirk, Spock and the other crew members. Choice of young actor was supurb, fantastic scenes. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend highly to any 'Trekkie' or sci fi movie buffy. Very pleased we had this over the Easter break as it gave us the opportunity to watch it several times.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Ann
A movie for everyone thoroughly enjoyed it, it's got a unique story line not the usual 'boy meets girl and fall in love', some genuine funny moments, good acting and holds your interest to the end.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Very, very good we both loved it, it had comedy, drama, good storyline, good acting and good music, more than a 'chick flick' and more than a romantic comedy. Would recommend it highly for an enjoyable evenings viewing.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
I was really looking forward to watching this movie as I love Colin Firth BUT. . . . . I was very disappointed it just didn't have 'anything', it is the story of a widower coming to terms with the lose of his beloved Wife while raising two Daughters, one with sad emotional trauma and a teenage acting out her rebellion. Worth watching once but wouldn't bother again.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
A fun movie and I really enjoyed it, definately a 'chick flick' (my Husband fell asleep), a quirky story about two best friends and the whole wedding preperation thing some very funny, some sad moments. A pleasant movie with a nice, if predictable ending.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
I really wanted to enjoy this movie as I love Meryl Streep but half way through I asked my Husband and we had to admit that it just wasn't holding our attention. Nothing wrong just uninteresting and lacking in entertainment..
(Maybe) - review by Ann
I think I am still in 'awe' of this movie and I know it will stay with me for a long time. Shows the horrific treatment the Nazi's gave the Jews and a view of how so many didn't realise the atrocites that were going on right under their noses, a Wifes torment at finding out what her Husband is capable of while trying to protect her children from the realities. I held my breath as I saw the ending unfolding. Brilliantly made and easy storyline to follow.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Beautiful movie, well made, gorgeous costumes, magnificent scenery, brillantly played by the two leads Victoria

This has been a fantastic series I'm sorry to see it come to an end it has sucessfully tied up all the 'loose ends' of the series and left enough questions to keep us hanging out for series two - can't wait.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Ann
Another three exciting episodes of this fantastic series, all the mystery of the deep south added to 'Supernatural', 'Twilight'
(Excellent) - review by Ann
The more I watch of this series the better it gets, really enjoying seeing the lead characters story lines developeing, the adult content scenes are getting less (or I'm just getting used to them), good to have three episodes on this disc..
(Excellent) - review by Ann
This is the second disc I have watched in the series and I'm pleased to see a stronge story coming through, I like the lead characters, the modern themes and can understand what the younger views like about it, I personally don't like the graphic violence and sex scenesbut find it easy to see past that. I'm very much looking forward to watching the rest of the series, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to any true vampire fan.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Being a 'vampire groupie' from way back I was very much looking forward to watching this series., disappointed that disc 2 arrived before disc 1 so it took awhile to get into the story line but it certainly held my attention, much more adult content than I was expecting. Not as 'nice' as Twilight, rougher than 'Vampire Diaries' and not as 'dramatic' as Moonlighting'.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
Very disappointing can't see how this could be called a comedy? A film about marital arguments, discontentment
(Maybe) - review by Ann
Our whole family enjoyed this one though the young ones missed the story line. If you enjoy fantasy movies 'Never Ending Story', 'Lion, Witch and The Wardrobe' (though not as good as these) you will enjoy this movie. Maybe not Brendon Fraser's best work but would recommend it for a good evening viewing.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
Really enjoyed Matthew McConaughey doing what he does best, romantic comedy, typical 'Christmas Carol' story line but modern, funny, entertaining and well made. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend for a good evenings viewing with lots of munchies.
(Excellent) - review by Ann
Loved this movie the first time I saw it at the theatre and I loved it just as much on DVD. Everything you would expect from these two great actors Zac Efron
(Not to be missed!) - review by Ann
We turned this off after 25 minutes it was crude, vulgar and full of excess obscene language, no story that we could see and disrespectful on so many levels. Don't waste you time.
(Don't bother!) - review by Ann
Love the music in this film and would recommend it on that alone but it is also a good film, great line up of actors and a good story line but went a little flat in the middle, the ending was marvelous and left us feeling good.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
Ok, a little confusing trying to keep up with each storyline (a bit like Love Actually) but had me thinking about what we tell our Daughters of love and boys as they are growing up? Great line up of actors and I would recommend it but you, like me would want to watch it a second time for a better understanding.
(Worth watching) - review by Ann
We really enjoyed this movie some very funny scenes, touching moments and a good story line with a predictable ending but wonderful actors

Very disappointed in this movie, I usually love anything by Jennifer Aniston but this was just so disappointing lacked any good homour, poor storyline and 'sorry' but I thought very poor acting by all major cast members. Fills in a couple of hours. . just!

Just loved this movie, this is one that ticks all the boxes for a wonderful evenings viewing for everyone! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend highly, great story line, memorable actors, well made and scenes of Ireland are awesome. Enjoy, Enjoy, Enjoy! ! !

I found this a very emotional movie (having Daughters of my own), you go through a whole range with this one and it will start some 'serious' discussions on moral's, ethics etc. My teenage Granddaughters really enjoyed it as did I if 'enjoy' is the correct word? ? ? I would higly recommend this movie but have the tissues handy. Off to find the book now!
(Excellent) - review by Ann
If you like Vince Vaughn's style of humour this is a movie for you, as far as romantic comedy's goes this is very low on the list, had some comical moments in a slap stick sort of way but not a movie I would recommened highly, certainly seen Reese Witherspoon in much better roles. Light evening viewing.
(Maybe) - review by Ann
ok. . . . not at all what I was expecting? ? ? Definately not a romantic comedy as advertised and overall a very 'strange' story line, I'm not sorry I watched it as it did hold my interest and if you want something a little different this is the movie for you. I would recommend it with reservations? ? ?

It is with heavy heart I write this review, I was so looking forward to seeing this new movie as I'm a huge Johnny Depp fan from '21 Jump Street' to 'Sweeney Todd' BUT I was terribly disappointed in this film, I found it boring, bland and slow there was just nothing about it to talk about, my Husband thinks it may be because it is taken from a true story and not the usual 'large than life' characters that Johnny Depp plays, not a bad movie just left me feeling disappointed.

Our Granddaughter 6yrs loved every minute of it and we had to keep it out a little longer than we liked but she wanted it on every day and we enjoyed the peace

I just loved the whole series BUT it definately got more like the original Dr Who series towards the end, disapointed to see so many of the original characters killed off and would have liked to see Gwen have her baby.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Ann
I have waited so long to see this movie and I'm sorry I did, it is everything that people have said it would be. Brad Pitt shows a softer side to his amazing acting ability and the story line is unique and captivating. Highly recommend it but one you need to sit and watch closely to enjoy fully.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Ann
This third series seems to have taken a rather 'different' turn and to me is more like the original Dr Who television series, I certainly miss the two original characters Tash

Absolutely loved this move it was much easier to underastand than The Da Vinci Code but still all the excitment and action. Tom Hanks is just amazing, wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone but be aware for younger viewers there are some bloody, violent scenes.

Just loved watching all the episodes so far and I continue to be amazed each and every show.
