Just didn't quite do it for me - trying to be a bit too clever for it's own good I feel.

Easily one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

Not a Johnny Cash fan but the performances really were fantastic.

I was obsessed with the books as a child so was eagerly anticipating this movie. It left me a little empty though - I don't think it was long enough - could have gone for another 30 minutes or more. I think it may lose a lot on the small screen - if I'd seen it at the cinema and I may have had a different opinion. Still nice to see the characters I know so well brought to life though - seeing Aslan for the first time gave me a little tingle but still nothing compared to the awe I felt as a child.

What can I say? Really good Aussie flick.

Typical John Waters and quite hilarious in parts - Tracy Ullman is a classic. 3 and half stars.

Never saw the original in its entirety which is probably a good thing as I didn't tend to compare the two. Had some flat patches but still enjoyable.

Not bad but Robin Williams really saves this movie from mediocrity. An extra star for his performance.

Started out with promise but by the end I was reaching for the book and even pining for the tv series. It's a shame that a generation will see this movie and think 'Is that it?' when they should really read the extraordinary book instead. Still, there were classic moments in it, but the obligatory love story and poor ending let it down.

Good performances from the actors but just too slow....

Not too confident at the start but by the end of this film I was loving it. Not a great fan of Joan Allen but she is brilliant.
(Excellent) - review by Carrie
Thought it was going to be a good flick but I didn't like it at all. Maggie Smith's character is totally unlikeable, as is Chris Cooper's. By the end of it I just wanted it to be over!!

My flatmate thought it was the worst movie she had seen in a long time, but I didn't mind it. Slow moving yes, but it kept my attention throughout.

If it wasn't a true story I would have trouble believing it. Amazing.

Pretty bad - all over the shop. What was Naomi thinking?

Okay, but not as funny as I expected. The schmaltzy ending was too a bit too much.

Haven't eaten Macca's since - and not likely to for a while either. Well made doco which explores much more than just the McDonald's problem. Interesting and shocking.

Not quite Heathers but not a bad teen flick. The schmaltzy ending disappointed but still enjoyable.
(Worth watching) - review by Carrie
Interesting movie, even though I found most of the characters unlikable for much of the film. Not a bad watch - quite sad at the end.

Didn't think I'd like it but I really did! Not a fan of Renee Zellweger but she deserved the Oscar for her performance.

Not as hilarious as the first but still a great flick.

Not exactly historically correct but still not too bad for its genre.
(Worth watching) - review by Carrie
Certainly not as much action/violence as the first, more of a character study. Still very enjoyable.

Not a bad flick - the kids enjoyed it. Maybe a little long.

Pretty gory, reasonably entertaining, but not as good as I was expecting.

Although the feel of the film seems depressing, I acutally felt uplifted afterwards. Really enjoyed it.

Not one of Woody's best - I actually fell asleep towards the end. Just didn't have the sparkle of his usual fare

Fairly predictable fare, even though Johnny Depp was good. Once I picked the ending, about a third of the way through, it became a bit of a drag.

Actually pretty funny & entertaining - better than I expected.
(Worth watching) - review by Carrie
Started off okay but then degenerated into an extended version of a tv cop show - and yes, the accents became a bit too much by the end. Overrated.

A bit confronting in parts but I actually liked Meg Ryan in this one! Jane Campion's direction is excellent although far different from anything of hers I have seen before. Played in my head for a while afterwoods which I think is always a good sign. Definitely worth a look.

Took me a while to get into it but enjoyed it thoroughly. Great acting by all.

Really enjoyed this flick - Peter Weir is a beautiful director and the 2 hours+ glided by before I new it. Wished I had seen it on the big screen though.

Not a bad remake - do yourself a favour and watch the Japanese original first. It was much more engaging.

Cate Blanchett as always is excellent in this movie that evokes both anger & sadness - especially as it is a true story.

Good exploration of the prejudices that existed in the 50's, and after watching this you realise that unfortunately they're still around. Visually true to the 50's style also - so much so that you could believe that you were watching a film made in that decade. Julianne Moore is excellent.
(Excellent) - review by Carrie
If you can look past the extreme violence, which had me wincing in parts, this is a great film. Easily Uma's best role yet and close to Tarantino's best also. Have to go out & see Vol 2 now!
(Not to be missed!) - review by Carrie
Enjoyable light hearted look at family issues - very funny in parts.
(Worth watching) - review by Carrie
Reasonable thriller with good twists throughout - kept me thinking for a while anyway.
(Worth watching) - review by Carrie
Pretty good light entertainment - one the whole family can watch anyway.

Not as funny as the hilarious Best in Show but still worth a look.

Really enjoyed this flick. Interesting story and good performances, particularly fantastic Frances Mcdormand

Garbage.

12 year old nagged me to get this and I can see why. A highly imaginative, artistic & amusing journey like nothing else I've seen before. Do yourself & your kids a favour.

Insightful look into a way of life that I wouldn't have considered sustainable, but apparently is very much so.

I thought this movie was great - very witty, well paced & highly amusing. Great chemistry between Clooney & Catherine. Not the usual Coen brothers fare but their influence is obvious. Loved it!
(Excellent) - review by Carrie
Terrible acting, terrible directing, terribly written, completely disjointed. It was so painful sitting through this rubbish. Geoffrey Rush must be ashamed of himself.

Pretty painless light stuff - I was expecting worse but it was't too bad.

Well written, well acted, very funny film. David Wenham is great, Timothy Spall is not far behind him.

The one-liners come thick and fast in this vintage Woody Allen flick. A must for fans.

A bit drawn out - could have cut half an hour out of it. The story is not as captivating as I thought it would be. Good performances by Hanks & Leonardo though.

Gulpil is excellent and the brilliant soundtrack really makes the movie. A film all Australians should see.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Carrie
Not quite what I was expecting - witty dialogue in parts but the musical numbers were just too much.

Started off okay but fell away rapidly. Couldn't stop comparing it to the real 60's comedies - the original is better in this case.
