The movie was disappointing. Unclear dialogue, hard to understand, not well defined characters. The story gets lost at various points. The book is far, far superior

A good story, with mood and depth of feeling and a reminder that survival is strongest after all.

An amazing show of nature and endurance. It makes you wonder why we have become so small and incompetent of life in the west. A must.

It is about what our 'civilized' world does looses first on its search for the mighty sign of currency and is symbol of success. Yet it is the thread of connection and the toughness of the weave, even in its most delicate form that gives existence any value. A heart warming tale.

a story woth viewing again and again. The acting and the scenery are incredible, the story breathtaking and the emotions keep slaping at you: the courage, the erotiscism, the sadness, the will to be. One of the greats.

The best part of this feature is the breathtaking shape of the Concorde, fast and past!

A very interesting account of Fidel's revolution and of his personality but way too long. I find that the role of Che Guevara has been very subdued.

Witty and entertaining as all Jacques Tati's movies but not as funny. The scene has aged and part of the funny irony is lost.

Great acting, very good special effects, given the age of the movie and a very interesting philosophical point of view. Very worth viewing.

A powerful movie. It impacts because we like to think that this kind of play with the life of others ' for the good of the society' is only part of the past. We tend to forget that it our daily lives in western society. The moral of our elected governments does not extend beyond the pocket.

An oldtime classic with great suspense. If you like Burt Lancaster, this is one of his good performances, as well as Alain Delon.

Not the best movie by Almodovar, in my view, but an interesting exploration of feelings of jalousy and control among homosexuals.

An absolutely great movie! It is the second time I see it and I discovered messages I had missed before. The magic to be a woman. The rough imposition of faith by the archangel Gabriel. The last scene is fabulous.

A pleasant comedy that illustrates the pulls, limitations and complexities of family life, when you mix latin and jewish culture!

Almodovar always delivers good stories with pathos and sense of humour.

A delightful movie. Very well cast takes the viewer through bleach scenes of childhood but to remind us that those who are tenacious of life often find joy and adventure by accepting (even briefly) the unexpected.

It seemed a really good movie but the subtitles are so fast is almost impossible to follow the images and the dialogue. A real pity, unless you speak that dialogue of Russian.

Not a comedy, not a drama, not a thriller but a deep human experience. Yet it does not feel emotionally exhausting, it flows with the easy landscape, the apparently simple unraveling of everyday common lives. But that is where all the thick plots of life reside, A must see, A heart warmer.

Driving home once more what ignorance, arrogance and hipocresy the western white has shown through history and still does. Once the outrage is committed, it is never easy to solve the mess. This story is about Australia but makes us look beyond at todays intents at domination in other parts of the world, by force, always by force. We have understood nothing. Worth watching.

It has been a very long time since I saw such heart warming human story. A very beautiful and relevant story that shows that hard dicipline vs punishement for the sake of order engenders violence. In our war torn world this is a simple truth that we should never forget.

There is no such thing as returning home when you have grown up in a different culture. That gives people just a different cultural dimension and that is what they are. Someone said that we are the product of our history. How true. Great veiwing

I watched it 4 times from its original release. One of the best films I saw in my life. Within the context of Italy at the time, a poignant human tragedy that displays all the trappings of life: hope, laughter, injustice and loss of inocence. Great perfornmances from Alain Delon, Renato Salavattore and Annie Girardot. A classic!
