I turned this off. I'm a big Jim Carrey fan but this was dark and very slow.
May have got better, but I just didn't have the time to find out.

Once I got over the expectation that everyone in this musical can actually sing (and I'd suggest you do that too) this was a huge amount of fun. The music is excellent (good work Benny, we bought the soundtrack) and Amanda Seyfried an awesome choice for her role.
Does anyone else think Pierce sounds like David Bowie!??

Not one for traditional Adam Sandler fans.
Probably made because there is a real story that Americans (maybe specifically New Yorkers) feel needs to be told about those who lost families in 911. Fair enough, I suppose.
Also, it probably had Adam Sandler in it because he looks the part (dishevelled and aimless) but I didn't really believe he was a once brilliant dentist now fallen from grace. Maybe I've seen too many of his other movies.
Anyway, some poignant moments and worth a watch if you're initially drawn by the concept, but don't get it just because you want to see the serious side of Adam...
