Universally slated on release, this film is flawed but does still narrate a very interesting subject matter. However, hoardes of Ancient Greeks all with Irish accents just doesn't work.

Alternative and riddled with profanities, none of the characters are particularly likeable, although it's still an enjoyable watch, and leaves you wanting to discover what the point of the movie is.

Surprisingly interesting documentary, despite the tendency for hyperbole. Certainly provides plenty of background for conspiracy theorists!

Surprisingly good film, you don't have to be a teenage girl to enjoy the wit and social observations portrayed in this very enjoyable story. Bit of a frightener for anyone with daughters!

Quality seventies cheese!

A deeply touching portrayal of a totally flawed genius, sometimes funny, mostly sad, and occasionally surreal. Outstanding performances, especially Geoffrey Rush and Charlize Theron. Partially explains the justification for these flaws through oedipal tendencies, manifesting themselves into violent rages and lack of self esteem - fascinating stuff.

Outstanding! Incredible detailed animation, superb characterisation, and great adventure. Excellent social commentary on the greed and selfishness of compensation culture, plus themes of learning who you are and being true to yourself, make this a great film for all ages.

Classic seventies cheese

This film is informative enough and covers off the subjects in some detail, but unfortunately is delivered in a rather dull and uninspiring manner. The book is exciting, but this film isn't.

Great film, superbly performed

Fans of MotoGP will love this, and non-fans should watch it to gain some appreciation of the best motorsport currently out there.

This film has a particular style, with fast moving and often rather fruity language, which you'll probably like or loath. Ben Affleck really isn't Oscar winner potential, although amusingly this is one of the sequence of Jay and Silent Bob movies, providing the basis for the film's title and primary theme.

A highly amusing and entertaining look at the UK music revolution of the 90's. Once you get past the initial dubious political message, and the truth behind the New Labour fakes is revealed, it is a very enlightening take on life in the UK during this period, with some truly outstanding quotes from some of the stars of the period.

An enjoyable and often surreal journey through early 70's glam rock; spot the influences from David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Mott the Hoople, Marc Bolan, The Sweet, Gary Glitter, and of course the legendary Noddy Holder.

Unauthorised story of the greatest hard rock band of all time - doesn't feature much of the music, but does give an interesting insight into the formation of the band, and the group dynamic.

Great Disney classic

A mad, bad rollercoaster of a movie, a complete assault on the senses. The Tarrantine influence is obvious, it now looks like an extended MTV interview, although this film helped define that style of editing back in the 90's. Amoral, brutal, exceptionally violent, but ultimately compulsive viewing.

Powerful, moving and superbly acted

A quite unique take on the traditional King Arthur legend. Despite the critical panning it received, it's a decent all-action flick, as long as the historical accuracy isn't questioned.

If you're a fan of lara Croft, and set your expectations of a movie based on this character accordingly, then what you get is a slick and pretty decent all-action adventure that's actually rather endearing.

This was the greatest musical event of all time. Most of the performances are superb and really stand the test of time, clearly dominated on both the London and Philly stages by the best of Bristish from the 80's - check out the Freddie Mercury performance! The Americans are generally good but not in the same league, and there is a token effort from INXS at "Oz for Africa". Check out the extras for the quite unbelievable international section, especially the Austrian and German band aid songs.

Superb sequel, possibly even better than the first in the series. Much of the film is concentrated on the character developments and the internal conflicts being faced by the lead character, which is neatly complemented by quality action sequences. In typical Hollywood style, there will almost certainly be a third movie considering the open ending.

Superb study of attitudes to social decay and the conflicting attitudes and behaviours between adults and a misguided and disillusioned youth. Exceptionally violent, and made more disturbing by the ages of the characters, it portrays the loyalties and allegiances in place between a class of teenagers, and the extents to which they can be driven when the ultimate result is at stake.

Superb feel-good film about escapism and reinvention

Packed with celebrity cameos, and a very silly plot, but results in a clever and entertaining film - especially when you see what Silent Bob is really like in the DVD extras

Bloke from the streets turns good and joins police. Catches big bad dude. Bad due murders bloke's wife. Bloke goes after him. Catches him in the end. Formulaic? At least Vin Diesel has enough screen presence to carry the film.

No real connection with the original apart from the lead character name and 3 Minis. Does not have the charm, humour or atmosphere of the original - there's no "you're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!" for example, but instead it's a decent action movie in its own right.

Best of British in terms of the stars, and certainly worst of British in terms of the storyline and settings, but some very funny moments and some great performances.

Not too bad, the odd very funny moment

Starts off rather tenuously, bringing together a series of minor literary characters in a convoluted storyline, but actually works out well, and the end result is a decent entertaining action flick.

The two words "romantic" and "comedy", when applied to any film, is usually enough to put any bloke off a film. However, when it's a Coen brothers film, rather than the usual cringing American schmaltz you get a sharp, snappy, witty and very funny film. The two lead performances by George Clooney and Catherine Welsh-tart are pure parodies of themselves, the plot twists along, and the dialog is superb. Blokes should not be put off!

A truly seminal epic. The juxtaposition of imagery and soundtrack is quite astonishing. The progressive paradigm of human evolution into a new realm presents a dichotomy with the broader universe. Ethereal and fascinating.

Good old gung-ho American all action hero type of film, never takes itself seriously, and is good entertaining stuff, well worth a look.

Not in the same league as the truly seminal 2001, but much more approachable and less abstract. It also answers some of the obsurities of 2001. Worth watching as a sequel.

This is a genuine classic. Very long, so requires a few sessions to watch the whole experience, but truly fascinating. The band performances are oustanding, notably Joe Cocker's "help from my friends", Jefferson Airplane and of course the Jimi Henrix finale.

Not bad, worth a watch - quite a short film

A good watch, better than expected. The often irritating Jim Carrey is surprisingly good, and whilst the plot is typically American, i.e. simplistic and moralistic, the end result is a film worth watching.

With a convoluted plot and poor dialogue, only the action scenes make this a reasonable effort.

An outstanding film, providing a refreshing change to mainstream WW2 war films. It primarily focuses on the drive and determination of a fascinating character, and the politics and manipulation carried out at the leadership level, at the expense of the troops on the ground. Whilst amusingly anti-British in its perspective of Montgomery, it is also quite perceptively anti political-correctness, quite an achievement considering it is from the late 60's. It also provides an apparently honest view of the defeat of Germany, without laying any falsified claims to the success of the Allies being due to the involvement of the Americans, unlike many more recent films.

An outstanding film, very engaging, completely amoral, and highly amusing. A superb analysis of what happens when there is no-one to fight. Well worth seeing.

A true cinematic classic from the legendary Stanley Kubric, it is a superb parody of the cold war and the dependency on nuclear weapons, and what might go wrong if people start to get funny ideas. Peter Sellers is superb in three of the main roles.

Classic, deliberately low-budget and tongue-in-cheek stuff. Amusing, not too scary, and good fun.

Whilst Vinnie Jones is never going to be an Oscar winner, this is a relatively faithful remake of the Burt Reynolds classic, and is certainly worth a viewing.

An enjoyable and entertaining film, that raises some very well constructed arguments around corporate responsibilities and theological relevance within modern society.
