My mind shudders when I see such atrocities. The Nazis deemed any other race but themselves to be sub-human which justified their actions. Inhuman acts are still perpetrated by man against man - it will ever be thus I fear. A But this film, while it stirs up those terrible acts, is well produced and the acting is very good.

It helped to have read the three books - it is remarkable how they could fit this epic story in to two hours. A pity the sub titles were so small but the action was about as I remembered from the books.

I have not seen a more enticing, beautiful and vexing female than Paz Vega. No wonder she enmeshed this up and coming hunk of a man who had too many hang ups about his past.

The Marquis writes pornographic verses from his prison/asylum cell. They are being distributed in the nearest town much to the appreciation of the people but outrages the autocracy. The time is the French revolution and penalty severe for upsetting convention. There is controversial interplay between the Marquis and his religious keeper> The acting is superb and the plot reflects the cruelty of the times .

A nymphomaniac is hopelessly in need of satisfying sex. She looks for it in a bar and finds the man of her dreams. She falls in love which is not reciprocated by him. Eventually he finds he cant do without her. The intense and graphically portrait sex scenes are the only way this film can work so well.

a great little film featuring a teenage girl and her family in northern NSW. She is struggling with teenage hood and rebels against her single mother. She and her demented grandfather try to rub away but a happy ending brings the film to gentle conclusion.

Having read the book twice trying to understand the finer points of the story I can understand the difficulty making this film. There are long pauses which linger a bit too long. But the film is faithful to the book. The acting is superb but, to appreciate the story one needs to concentrate.

When watching the film I was entchanted and intriged by the images of flocks of so many different species of birds in their environment flying over the many spectacular areas of the world. But, when turning to "The making of..." it became clear that the birds were bred in captivity and trained with lots of love. What pacience and fortitude. It took some of the gloss off the imagination but its still a great achievment.

One of the most realistic films I have ever seen. Many women and young girls are raped and killed in Bordertown Mexico without anyone investigating the crimes. A reporter from Chicago gets involved and nearly falls victim herself. Such acts occur close to the American border and is caused by young girls enslaved into working for multi nationals for less than a subsistence wage. This is where the poison of consumerism begins.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Alex

This film reminded me of my early life in Austria when I was a young teenager. The Hitlerjugend was an exhileratimng experience for me at the time. No one here knew of the terrible war fought in the north between the Comunists and the Nazis. This film shows the unbelievable bravery and recourcefulness of the young boy. It also shows how indoctrination corrupts the mind of opposing forces. Outstanding acting. This is a memorable and educational film.

I don't know how much this film was dramatized. If the war there is half as bad it must wreck the nerves of all living and fighting there except one soldier. A very dramatic film.

How lust for sex can become a dependance on the opposite sex. This film shows one nymphamaniac rich girl who finds a man at a bar.She persuades her live in girl friend to take his friend and they both decide to hire them for sex. After one gets used to all the bonking a moral emerges that affects both girls in different ways with differetnt outcomes.

I liked the interplay between the stand up mother comedian and her sons, who she loves to death. When one of the boys falls in love all hell breaks out in the family. Mother looses controll of her favouried son and her senses. Jealousy nearly tears them appart. Normality and hugging returns and mother does her comic stand up thing at her son's wedding. Very entertaining. Good acting.

Horrifying to see the slaughter of "our relatives" in such a cruel manner on "secret camera". A good example of a totalitairian regime keeping its population in the dark. And to feed the contaminated dolphin meet to the population can only happen in country like Japan! Hopefully this film will stop this terrible slaughter.

Having lived in Vienna at the time the movie is set I can sympathise with and live through this story. The excruciating doubt and pain in some Germans must have been difficult to cope with. So retribution even on the ilitered Hanna (not discovered during the trail)was justified in the eyes of the law. The acting of all, especially Kate Winslet, is rematkable.
