The guy who played the boyfriend was wooden and boring to watch. Apart from that it was a pretty ordinary film.

Wow! This woman never ceases to amaze me!

Nothing to write home about, but a nice feel good film
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Ok if you like that kind of film. As good an actor as Crowe is he is hopeless at the English accent.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
This film tried to make the viewer feel sorry for this guy. Not me he was a convicted drug dealer and deserved to go to prison. Glad he saved and took care of the dog though, so he wasn't all bad. Funny how they don't go to prison straight away and have to front up themselves at a later date.

Thank God for these courageous men who saved our country through sheer guts and determination. Volunteers, untrained, ill-equipped yet they defeated the much stronger Japanese army. It just goes to show what the Aussie spirit can do. Thank you, you will always be remembered for this. Heroes all of you.

Apart from Aaron Eckhart this film is crap. Don't bother.

Really enjoyed it. Good to see the girls back together again realising in the end that simple is best.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Tina Turner - Queen of Rock n Roll!! Enjoyed Cher's and Leann Rimes performances also. Whitney Houston wasn't bad, but the rest of the show was pretty ordinary.

Very good film. Don't miss it!
(Excellent) - review by Janet
A bit long winded and slow moving, but worth a look anyway.

A very thought-provoking Aussie film and how difficult it must be living with a handicapped person. Luke Ford as Charlie was excellent and I felt very sorry for Thomas. It was a lot for a young person to cope with. Good on Jackie for being so understanding about Charlie and the wacky parents, Collette and Thomson, who were also very good.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Can't stand John Travolta, but a good suspense film nonetheless. A couple of twists towards the end. Good viewing.

Good action thriller. Well worth a look.

An interesting storyline and fine performances from Norton and Watts. Also good English accents from both seeing neither are English.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
A good action thriller without too much over-the-top violence. Well directed by Bruce Beresford.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Two teenage boys who felt the only way to solve their problems was to take it out on their fellow pupils and then kill themselves. It could have been told a lot better than the way it was.
(Don't bother!) - review by Janet
Not one of Rusty's best, but an enjoyable feel good film, nonetheless. However, with such a broad Aussie accent his English accents, as in the film Master and Commander, were both unconvincing.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
A sweet love story that I wished had worked out for the two of them in the end because they seemed to be so much in love.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
A typical B grade badly made homosexual film. Bad acting by all. Good to see Jacqueline Bisset, but not in this film. She can do a lot better than this crap.
(Don't bother!) - review by Janet
Brilliant! Sean Penn and Dakota Fanning were perfectly cast and great acting from both. I don't see why they wanted to take Lucy away seeing Sam had raised her on his own for 7 years. As with any parent they sometimes need help, which is all Sam needed and got in the end. All that court stuff was a complete waste of time.
(Excellent) - review by Janet
The guy who played Justin was really spooky. Ryan Gosling was up himself as usual. The scene near the end when Bullock looked as though she was about to fall gave me the heebee geebees because I don't like heights. All up a good thriller to watch.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
I don't blame Will for straying with such an unattentive girlfriend. He tried really hard but she was so obsessed with her daughter. Very brave of her to face Will's lover in court though. Glad to see it all ended well in the end, which is rare in a film these days.

I guess a 14 year age gap could lead to problems for some, but until Rafi mentioned it I didn't even notice there was one. A real pity because they seemed to be so in love and I would have liked to have seen them make it work. A believeable love story, except for David being the son of Rafi's therapist. That was a bit far-fetched.

An ugly graphic reminder of the Yugoslavian civil war of the early 90's and what it's citizens had to go through just to survive. Dillane plays are hard-nosed journo who ends up trying to save some kids in an orphanage, to get them to safety in Italy, a very brave thing to do. If it wasn't for people like him, and the others who helped ,who risked their lives to help then there would be little hope at all.

Whether this film is actually a true account of the job of the Coast Guard, I don't know. What I do know is that is was a really good film to watch. Costner is a fave and Kutcher proved that he is more than just Mr. Demi Moore. This is a long film, but throughly worth sitting through.
(Excellent) - review by Janet
Firstly, Cooper the dog was a real scene stealer. Secondly, if I had a mother like that I would slap her. Thirdly, even though the film was somewhat cheesey in parts it was watchable.
(Maybe) - review by Janet
What a shallow, vein, fickle little world the fashion industry is. "Everybody wants to be us" pouted Miranda. NO not everyone does, surprisingly enough, which Andy was eventually to discover. How right she was. Nevertheless an entertaining film to watch and Meryl streep was at her superb best.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
At 2hrs and 40 mins. this is a really long film to sit through. I'm amazed I managed to get through it. Very well made but just not my thing really, although I can see how others would like it.
(Maybe) - review by Janet
An excellent film. Both brothers are a couple of big time losers and things go from bad to worse. A really good story and Ethan Hawke was really good in his role. Definitely worth a look.
(Excellent) - review by Janet
Sad and depressing and with a bum ending. Aniston and McDormand were good in their roles though.
(Maybe) - review by Janet
This film was so boring I had to speed it up every time someone was filmed from the back walking around. Even when the shooting started it was boring. This story could have been told in a much better way. A complete waste of time.
(Don't bother!) - review by Janet
I can't agree that Dusty was at the height of her career at the time this concert was filmed and she wasn't sounding her best, although I did like her version of Quiet Please There's a Lady on Stage. For someone who never got to see her live it was good to see her perform in concert on film at least.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
I haven't seen this particular DVD, but I am a big Dusty fan. A true legend.
(Excellent) - review by Janet
Pretty average film really.
(Maybe) - review by Janet
Not even remotely believeable that one man could survive such an onslaught, but as action films go it wasn't bad.
(Maybe) - review by Janet
Top film and Diane Lane is always very good, although the ending could have been better. Definitely worth a look though.
(Excellent) - review by Janet
Was he murdered or did he kill himself? We will never know and who killed Bob Crane from Hogan's Heroes? Won't ever know that either. The sordid and sad lives these actors live behind the fascade of their TV characters. They can keep their sad desperate lives thanks. A good film and worth watching though.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Hollywood comes to Spain! Also, lousy security. They needed our Sydney 2000 mob to look after things, but that would've turned a stupid film into a stupid boring film. The continual repeats at the beginning where tiresome.
(Maybe) - review by Janet
Christian Bale excels once again in this role. I was put off by all the whispering though because it was hard to hear what was being said, even though the storyline needed it. I would have liked to know what happened to the other escapees, but maybe Dengler never found out himself.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
I assume this is an accurate account of what occurred at the Alamo. A real pity the 'cavalary' didn't arrive a lot earlier because when they did they defeated the Mexicans in 18 minutes! It was obvious that the first lot of Americans including Crockett, Bowie and Travis, who were trying to defend the Alamo, didn't stand a chance due to lack of manpower. They were all sitting ducks.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Very graphic in parts and I could have done without the fight scene in the sauna with Mortensen's 'bits' dangling about, but a good film to watch nonetheless.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
I enjoyed this film because it was a refreshing change to see people actually in love, although I felt sorry for Greg Kinnear's character having lost two women he loved, but he ended up finding someone who reciprocated his love.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
What an horrific situation to find oneself in, mistaken as a terrorist and brutally tortured for it. Luckily one person realised he wasn't guilty and saved him. A similar situation happened in the UK where an illegal immigrant was mistaken for a terrorist and shot dead. I guess the governments of the world can't get it right all the time. Cold comfort for the victims though.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
A fine performance by Tommy Lee Jones as usual and another good performance by Charlize Theron. Seeing this film was based on fact it is obvious that the soldiers aren't getting the help they need to cope with the horrors of war. Their government needs to rectify that. It is the least they can do for people who are prepared to risk their lives for their country.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
A really sweet film with its tragedies and triumphs and a happy ending. Really like Aaron Eckhart as an actor.

What a load of mindless violent crap and I couldn't understand what the story was supposed to be about.
(Don't bother!) - review by Janet
A bunch of sad characters with sad lives and another love story with an unhappy ending, but entertaining nonetheless.
(Maybe) - review by Janet
I don't recommend anyone to watch this film when they are feeling down. It is a sad and depressing film about a mother and her son, his girlfriend and a friend who gradually spiral out of control on drugs - both illegal and prescription - to cover up their miserable lives. Sadly, it only made matters worse. A hard film to get through.
(Don't bother!) - review by Janet
A long, slow film with nothing much going for it except Daniel Day Lewis' acting.
(Maybe) - review by Janet
Those Wall Street guys are a bunch of jerks. No wonder Bateman went bonkers, even if it was all in his head. A fine performance from Christian Bale once again and a good film to watch.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
A good thriller except for the silly car chase, but a couple of good plot twists which makes the film entertaining to watch.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Not sure I would agree with Colt's sentiments at the end of the film, where he said that nothing can possibly come close to winning Wimbledon, except, maybe, having his own family. I guess it depends where your priorities lay. A pretty ordinary film all up.
(Maybe) - review by Janet
I wasn't expecting much from this film, but it turned out to be not a bad thriller. A bit slow moving though.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
A really enjoyable film. Good storyline, acting etc. Joseph Gordon-Levitt looks a lot like the late Heath Ledger. Definitely work a look.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Lame and flat and has nothing really going for it.
(Don't bother!) - review by Janet
One of the most boring movies I have ever seen. The only reason I made it to the end was to see Jesse James get his cumuppance. He was a psycho and Robert Ford was indeed a nobody and a loser. I hope the snake killings weren't real because animal cruelty in films is disgusting and unacceptable.
(Don't bother!) - review by Janet
Well, if it wasn't for the thrill junkies prepared to risk their lives for a story then we would never have seen the Iraq war live on TV - something I know I could have lived without. If one likes watching films about the USA versus Iraq conflict then you should enjoy this one.
(Maybe) - review by Janet
As cute as Aaron Eckhart is I did love to hate him. Made me think about how yuk smoking is and the number of people I see smoking in films. That should be banned. Nevertheless a fine performance from Eckhart and an intertaining film
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
I don't ever remember my teachers being like Goslings character. I'm surprised he kept his job looking like something the cat dragged in - and the drug taking really impressive - not. His double standards were pathetic. He was more or less saying to the young student that it was ok to take drugs, but not to hang out with a drug dealer. I was unimpressed with this character. For someone who was a teacher he didn't even bother to hide his loser lifestyle from the students.
(Don't bother!) - review by Janet
Russell Crowe keeps the fine films coming and this one is no exception.

Excellent film. A great tragedy though that it is based on fact. We can all learn a lesson from this film and refuse to buy conflict diamonds.

Not my kind of film at all even if it does have Bruce Willis in it. Didn't even watch to the end.
(Don't bother!) - review by Janet
A really good thriller with an ending I certainly didn't expect.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
A good cast in Damon, DiCaprio, Nicholson, Baldwin and Sheen. A couple of unexpected twists at the end and a bit bloodthirsty in parts but a good thriller all the same.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Not as good as previous series' but still good.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Filmed entirely in black and white which made the film look and feel more real. Clooney and Blanchett were well suited to their roles. A good thriller.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Disc 2 is an improvement on Disc 1.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
3 episodes into the fourth series and I didn't find them as good as the other 3 series'.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Excellent! Don't miss this one if you are a fan of Westerns, Bale or Crowe. The 3 of them go very well together.
(Excellent) - review by Janet
A fairly mediocre war film. Saving Private Ryan was much better.
(Maybe) - review by Janet
Very good British thriller with a good performance by Heather Graham. Joseph Fiennes sinister looks were off putting for me though when it turns out he wasn't even the bad guy.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
An interesting look at life as a US marine in Iraq and the dangers and hardships they face as told by someone who was actually there.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
A B Grade film at best. Totally unbelievable. Good if you are stuck for something to watch.
(Maybe) - review by Janet
Way over the top even if based on fact. Black Hawk Down and The Great Raid are far better war films than this one.
(Maybe) - review by Janet
Christian Bale is indeed a fine actor and he played the simple Bobby very well. A thought-provoking well made film that the Brits do so well.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Eckhart and Kingsley are very good in their roles. A suspenseful thriller with a good plot. Well worth watching.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
An interesting look at what is presumably going on in Iraq these days and the struggles all who are there have to go to just to survive.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Another fine British film. Films like this leave many Hollywood films for dead. A poignant love story with the typical sad ending, but a good viewing nonetheless
(Excellent) - review by Janet
Fine performances from Caine, Bale and Jackman. A well made and enjoyable film with an unexpected ending.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Jones, Bardem and Brolin all delivered fine performances. All up a good, but at the same time disturbing film to watch.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
A long film and boring in parts, but not bad. 2 hours would have been long enough.
(Maybe) - review by Janet
Don't know whether this film is based on real events. I didn't expect it to be as good as it was. Fine performances from Clooney and Wahlberg. A good action/war flick
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
George Clooney was very good in this film. Worth a look.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Have no time for Tom Cruise anymore and Redfords ramblings were long and boring. If you like American films rambling on about the rights and wrongs of the war on terror you should enjoy this one. Thank goodness it was only a short film. Without the war scenes I would have given it only 1 star.
(Maybe) - review by Janet
This film is awful. How it ever got made I will never know.
(Don't bother!) - review by Janet
Entertaining and worth a look.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Well made and directed by Robert Redford but just not my cup of tea.
(Don't bother!) - review by Janet
The only good thing about this film is Josh Hartnett who is drop dead gorgeous. Ain't that right girls.
(Don't bother!) - review by Janet
What a depressing dark film. Having 5 daughters that all commit suicide - how would you be if you were their parents? I was so unimpressed with this film that I left it half way through only to come back to it later and was still unimpressed.
(Don't bother!) - review by Janet
I always enjoy a good war film and this one doesn't fail to entertain. A bit bloodthirsty in parts but that is to be expected. Very realistic. Ridley Scott did a magnificent job with this film.
(Excellent) - review by Janet
I was enjoying it until Kurt Russell's character went after the baddies himself. It all became unbelieveable after that, especially the chase scene towards the end. Nevertheless if you like suspense and action then you will enjoy this one.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Not a mindblowing kind of film but a lot better than some I have seen. Mathew Modine was a bit wooden and I don't see any acting ability of Joey Lauren Adams. James Caan was his usual best.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
I liked the road trip and the scattering of the ashes. A really nice tribute to his dad. Also, a poignant reminder not to put things off before its too late.
(Maybe) - review by Janet
I don't know a thing about poker but I enjoyed this film anyway. Matt Damon and Ed Norton teamed up well.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Great that he had the guts to do what he did, but the fact that he never contacted his family to at least let them know he was alive and well left me cold. He must have hated them a lot to do that, despite what his sister says in the film. Also, the killing of the moose was gross! I was surprised that someone who was supposed to be so in tune with nature wasn't a vegetarian. In the end a free spirit and a young life ended tragically with a simple mistake. Worth a look.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
A good thriller, worth a look.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Well made and well acted by the 3 leads, especially Stuart Townsend, who I hadn't seen before. A sad love story involving the 3 of them that gets interrupted by WWII, and where lives will never be the same again.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
A fantastic look back at the past of this brilliant group. A pity it had to end with Maurice's death. So many great songs.
(Excellent) - review by Janet
I think old Harrison is get passed these action flicks. Josh Hartnett is easy on the eye but can't act. All up a predictable, boring film.
(Don't bother!) - review by Janet
If one is into films depicting a group of young men whose only interest in life is sex then this is the film for you. Otherwise it's boring crap.
(Don't bother!) - review by Janet
I liked Ben Affleck's humourous character and the twists and turns kept me watching, but in the end it turned into the predictable Hollywood style action film.
(Maybe) - review by Janet
Different to say the least and not my cup of tea.

An interesting look at corruption in New Yorks rail industry. What a murky world that is, but I am glad they all got caught. Justice always prevails in the end.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
How can those people call themselves cops when they outcast an honest cop for handing in money he found? They are no better than the crims. Glad to see all the bent ones got caught in the end. All up a well made and enjoyable film to watch.
(Excellent) - review by Janet
Top show as was the Aussie version!
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Recommended as a must see for all Bee Gee's fans. A very talented trio.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
You're typical shoot 'em up Hollywood style film. Lots of gun action at the end, which makes me question how civilians can gain access to such powerful weaponry that can disable a helicopter and outshoot the police? Good action flick anyway.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Always enjoy a good Aussie film and if it's got Colin Friels in it even better! Totally unexpected ending though, but a good one considering the two characters involved.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
This film goes nowhere just like Simon Baker's acting ability. Ryder must have been extremely hard up to do this film.
(Don't bother!) - review by Janet
Spooky and kooky that's for sure and very well made re the special effects and Halle Berry was very good in her role. Not my type of film though.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Long but not drawn out. Always lots of info. to digest and twists and turns, which keeps you interested and wanting to see the end.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Bad acting from both Reeves and Theron I thought. The predictable love story with one of the characters dying and not forgetting the token homosexuals as the saviours of the day. As another member mentioned not a bad film for a rainy day, but that's about it.
(Maybe) - review by Janet
Nothing spectacular, but not bad entertainment.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
What a horrific situation to have found themselves in because all of them didn't think to do one simple thing - and that was to lower the ladder. A boat right there yet no-one can get on it. Although, when the lady did eventually get on board I was thinking, why didn't they try that a lot earlier before most of them died?? Scary but good entertainment though.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Very violent in parts, but at least one of the vigilante's got justice in the end. A very thought-provoking film.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
I couldn't stand this film. Pacino's character was a creep who prayed upon the vulnerable so he could make himself rich. McConauchey's character was so much in love with himself I'm surprised he could drag himself away from his mirror.
(Don't bother!) - review by Janet
Really enjoyed this one. A good British thriller.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
A predictable B grade movie.
(Maybe) - review by Janet
Not bad but too long winded and Damon's character never aged over the years like Jolie's character did. This was very noticeable when Damon's character didn't look old enough to have an adult son. I guess I wasn't supposed to notice that though.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Excellent film, really enjoyed it but that poor woman not knowing what a kook she had married and she couldn't get away from him because she couldn't swim! I really felt for her. Well worth watching.
(Excellent) - review by Janet
A most unusual case for Thornton's character to come across I'm sure. Probably not too many trannies in his neck of the woods. Still an enjoyable film and Billy Bob was good in his role.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
A really enjoyable action thriller.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Good thriller, worth a look.

Yep, I would have picked him too. A sweet love story and for those fans of tearjerkers you will need to have plenty of tissues on hand.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Well he had a point for sure and who wouldn't contemplate doing the same thing if put in that position, but this film was way over the top. A much better revenge film is The Brave One, with Jodie Foster.
(Don't bother!) - review by Janet
Excellent Australian film, which is too rare. Susan Sarandon is as good as ever and so was Emily Blunt. A definite must see for thriller fans.
(Excellent) - review by Janet
An interesting look at how one girls death can impact on so many people. Well acted and good storyline.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Very slow and Scottish accents hard to understand. The film was nearly over before it was revealed why the central character was so obsessed with this one man. Very sad when the reason was revealed.
(Maybe) - review by Janet
What a good idea putting young offenders in the Army to sort them out. It seemed to do the trick for the guy in this film. He seemed to become a decent human being, or maybe it was just because he fell in love. I was impressed with Jonathan Tucker's performance as the young soldier. A moving love story.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Yeah good film and scary to think that it was based on fact and that Hanssen got away with it for so long and did so much damage to the U.S. government.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
A really sweet film. Jude Law is gorgeous and a fine actor. Winslet and Diaz were good also. Jack Black looked out of place being the fat, dumpy little shortarse that he is. I guess it's good to see an ordinary looking person in a lead role.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Kevin Costner, another one of my faves, does a good job in this sad role as does Paul Newman with his grumpy old character. Wasn't impressed with Robin Wright's performance though. Also, it was a bit predictable and cheesy in parts, so it didn't have me reaching for the tissues.
(Maybe) - review by Janet
I probably would have enjoyed this movie if I were a teenage boy.
(Don't bother!) - review by Janet
What a kookfest depressing film. I can't see what the fuss was all about.
(Don't bother!) - review by Janet
If one is into American political films then you will enjoy this one, although I would hardly call it a thriller. A bad choice for me because I'm not into them, however I thought Joan Allen did a fine job with her role as did Gary Oldman and always good to see Christian Slater. However, I thought Jeff Bridges role as the President was unconvincing.
(Maybe) - review by Janet
Christian Slater - yum, and the film wasn't bad either.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
A depressing film in that it was based on fact and also the horrific things things that so many people had to endure. The incredible bravery of these people was truly inspiring though I doubt I could have done it. Well made and acted and well worth a look.
(Excellent) - review by Janet
Have always liked Bruce Willis, he's one of my favourite actors and now I can add Josh Harttnett to my list. Although, I did wonder how he managed to keep that flimsy towel on even whilst he was being roughed up. Enjoyable film and worth a look
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Excellent film and Theron was brilliant and well deserving of the Oscar. Not that I condone what Aileen did, except the first guy because he probably would have killed her. I guess she felt that after she had killed him and tried to improve her life, but to no avail, there was no turning back. I think by then she felt that it was too late she had suffered way too much and the damage had been done. A very tragic story about what can happen when a person is pushed too far.
(Excellent) - review by Janet
Some parts were hard to follow. Will have to find someone to explain a couple of bits to me. Surprised to see Jodie Foster in a 'baddie' role and such a small one. Also, it was a bit drawn out. Apart from that it wasn't a bad film.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Not the least bit believable, but a good cast and good entertainment nonetheless. Thriller fans should enjoy this film.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
I agree the swearing was a little too much, but nevertheless a good story with an unexpected twist in the end. I wonder if it will ever be shown on TV? If they have to cut out all the swearing there may not be much dialogue left to tell the story.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
I was really surprised when I heard what Crane got up to in his personal life and of course his murder. I never thought he was the least bit attractive so it surprises me to learn that he scored with so many women. I never liked the Hogan character and now I know why. I wouldn't be surprised if 'Carpy' did kill him after the way Crane treated him. Crane was a one-hit wonder no-talent and an all-round loser as far as I can see.
(Maybe) - review by Janet
A very enjoyable and moving film.

Another fizzer like 'Visions of Passion'. James Woods must have been hard up to make this empty film.
(Don't bother!) - review by Janet
Boring!

Not the usual type of film I enjoy although I think Justin Timberlake wasn't bad. Just didn't get into it and took a break and watched the remainder of it at another time.

A look at multiracial LA and how people go about their daily lives, it seems in a constant struggle to survive. Good cast in Matt Dillon, Sandra Bullock, Brendan Fraser and Don Cheadle.
(Excellent) - review by Janet
If you like a good thriller then you won't be disappointed with this one.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Seriously weird flick with seriously weird central characters who obviously don't like dogs too much.
(Don't bother!) - review by Janet
What a tearjerker! I don't usually fall for these soppy love stories but I did with this one. At first I couldn't understand her problem because she looked like she had the perfect life. However, as the film progressed it became apparent that certain people in her life made her feel worthless. Really sad when he said goodbye to his kids and I felt really sorry for the elder girl because her 'second dad' was leaving. It's sad when things have to get that bad before they can get better. Make sure you have a ready supply of tissues ladies, or guys, if your game. More of a chick flick I think.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Really good film and fine acting from Thornton, Berry & Boyle. Ledger's role wasn't long enough to really comment on his performance. Felt really sorry for the extremely fat kid being that big so young. A good story and worth a look.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
I found Bill Paxton's character really scary at first because I thought he had totally lost the plot and how could he involve his kids like that? However, rightly or wrongly he was a vigilante and a bit of a religious nut who only targeted people who had committed heinous crimes themselves. Was he a hero or a villan - you decide.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
I am amazed I got through this one. I actually couldn't wait for it to end. The same old same old. Boring and uninspirational.
(Don't bother!) - review by Janet
Hmmm, a thrill a minute thriller. Lots of gory stuff. It would have been even better if the blood looked real, but I was too busy drooling over John Cusak to really care.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Hollywood keeps the good Western's coming and this film is no exception. Another fine performance from Cate Blanchett and I liked the sense of humour portrayed by Tommy Lee Jones' character.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
An fine thriller and Johnny Depp is as good as ever albeit very creepy at the end.
(Excellent) - review by Janet
I thought it started off ok and a bit funny but it soon went down hill from there. A load of Hollywood rubbish comes to a quiet English village. Not even worth one star.

I saw this film on an outdoor big screen and thought it was excellent. Well made and an interesting story. Always enjoy a good war film.

Not one of my better choices. I only gave it one star because that is the required minimum. It's not even worth that. A load of rubbish from start to finish.

Another tragic tale about American life that happens so often. It makes me wonder how these people can get access to such powerful weaponry. I couldn't believe the size of the gun the sniper was using. It looked like something a soldier would use. Because of this so many lives cut short and families left bereaved. At least there wasn't a heap of gratuitous violence in this film, just what was needed for the story to be told.

I'm not into films with a lot of gratuitous violence. This film was a story about some extremely violent outlaws so I feel the violence was justifiedl. Life was indeed tough for those early settlers. How lucky we Aussie's are that we no longer have to live that way. A well made and acted film. Always pleased to see a good Australian film.

30 minutes into this film was enough for me.

I saw this film at the cinema and it was brilliant. Jodie Foster is as great as ever. A bit violent in places but nothing gratuitous.

I normally like watching British crime dramas but this one fails to make the grade. The two leading female characters failed to impress me and it lacked the polish that most other U.K. crime dramas have.

Don't bother. Season 1 Disc 1 was enough for me. I didn't bother watching the other 2 discs and sent them straight back. Bad acting, worse than the U.K. version and boring.
(Don't bother!) - review by Janet
I was bored with this film. I can't quite see why Ewan McGregor would be interested in doing it. He should have left it to an unknown like the rest of the cast.

I didn't find this film interesting at all. I actually found the Indian guys angry looking facial expressions annoying and his acting wasn't much better. I also thought the kiss at the end looked forced and not at all passionate.

I couldn't understand why this guy was acting so weird. It soon became apparent that he was reliving a childhood trauma that really sent him bonkers. I found this film very depressing because he had a very tragic childhood.

An interesting portrayal of two couples in unhappy marriages and an affair sparked by that unhappiness, lonlieness and a dull existance - oh and probably because the husband of Kate Winslet's character had a penchant for wearing women's undies on his head. Who can blame her for straying?

One cooky family for sure. Easy to see why the matriarch wanted to do herself in. I thought the twins were very good although I was worried as to what they would get up to next. All up an enjoyable and sometimes witty film to watch.

I remember hearing about this case at the time it happened and I remember thinking wow a crook with a sense of humour. His antics must have really angered the police. That and the fact that he didn't want any of his victims to get shot, escaping from prison twice, pulling a heap of robberies, which netted him a lot of money certainly made Brendan Abbott one unusual crim.

I good suspensful film and good storyline. Not too much violence considering what the film was about. Just enough to tell the story. A tragic tale born out of hatred with no real winners in the end.

Hooligans! that's an understatement. Whoa, all that violence over a game of soccer. Ones wonders what they would be like if they were involved in drug dealing or the like. However, if you are into watching a bunch of meatheads trying to prove how macho they are by trying to kill each other then, enjoy.

Westerns seem to be making a comeback. I found this film as equally enjoyable as Cold Mountain and Open Range. A different kind of role for Pierce Brosnan who I thought did a very good job with it and an ending that I certainly didn't expect.
(Excellent) - review by Janet
It sounded good when I read the synopsis but I didn't get into the film at all. Gangster type films aren't my thing at all. I felt the characters all lead a sad and dangerous existance.

The dark side of the life of Elvis Presley, which I have read about many times since his death. This film is yet another version of events which supposedly took place, thus ending with the premature death of a legend. I didn't find the guy who played Elvis that believeable and I wouldn't recommend it as suitable viewing for those Elvis fans who find that side of his life distressing. All up I think David Stanley did a good job making the film.

The acting was so bad in this film that it was embarrasing to watch. I did however struggle through to the end because I like to see the whole film before I judge it, but was glad when the credits started rolling.

I'm not really sure why it is called 'Bobby' seeing it didn't have much to do with him. I assume the lives of the people featured was based on fact, otherwise I don't know what the point to the film was. Nevertheless it was good viewing.

Good thriller. Not very believable but good entertainment. Clive Owen is very cute. Good acting by him and Jennifer Aniston. Worth a look.

I thought Michelle Pfieffer was very good in this film. Her character really cared about her charges and she did her best to help them when others didn't bother. If only there were more like her the world would be a lot better off.

What a sad existence these people have. I felt really sorry for the little boy who lost his dad in the Falklands war. I guess it just goes to show what boredom, no sense of worth and a bleak future can do for some people. Very sad indeed.

Creepy, disturbing and boring. I'm surprised I got to the end of it.

If you like depressing films full of sad characters and the storyline goes nowhere then this film is for you.

I've really got to stop watching these B grade movies. Another one that's not worth writing home about.

Some very blood thirsty scenes, which make it all the more scary seeing they actually happened. Robert Downey Jr's performance was as good as ever - a fine actor. However, it did drag on too long and the killer was never revealed. Once again a scary thing knowing that he was never caught so got away with his horrific crimes. I couldn't believe the police couldn't catch him. I assume it must have been a high profile case in the U.S. He could still be alive for all we know.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Yeah not a bad thriller but it was too long-winded, which got a bit boring. I was beginning to wish for the end. The story could have been told on one disc instead of two.

Don't bother unless you're into extremely bad acting by a bunch of airhead women whose only talent is getting paid to make an extremely badlly made soft porn film.
(Don't bother!) - review by Janet
Didn't like the student/teacher thing and the fact that Annabelle was under age. There is such a thing as self-control. Some things are just not meant to be. The teacher abused her position and it was right what happened to her in the end.

Enjoying the second series as I did the first and looking forward to the 3rd. It's good to see how the other half live.

What a load of cobblers!

Good film except for the paedophilia aspect and what a nutter was Judi Dench's character played so well by her. Worth watching.

I was looking forward to watching the whole series but I'm not a fan of films with subtitles so I'll be giving it a miss. However, I did find it enjoyable to watch. Worth a look if you don't mind foreign films.

The funniest film I have seen since 'Dumb and Dumber'! Will definitely be renting it again in the future.

I didn't know this was a foreign film when I rented it. Not interested in watching films with subtitiles. I probably would have enjoyed it otherwise.

A tragic piece of crap!

Excellent scenery. Ledger was incredibly hard to understand and the other guy wasn't much better. I had to rewind several times just to try and catch what they were saying. I did that with Ledger's final mumble and I still couldn't work out what he said.
(Don't bother!) - review by Janet
Good crime drama. It would have been far more enjoyable for me if I understood Italian so I didn't have to rely on the subtitles. If one doesn't mind trying to keep up with them then one should enjoy the series.

Rubbish!

Definitely not for the easily offended or the politically correct amongst us. It had me in stiches in some parts more than others. A very funny film.
(Excellent) - review by Janet
Fine acting especially from Hugo Weaving. Once again from an Australian film a fine thriller without the gratuitous violence, which proves it is not needed to tell a good story.
(Worth watching) - review by Janet
Another fine Australian thriller. Well worth watching.

Stuart the central character is a few sandwiches short of a picnic and the rest of them are pretty sad too. If this series represents real life in gay city then I feel sorry for all of them.

Nope still not better.

Not any better.

Not a bad little romantic drama.

Good to see this is an Aussie film. It was a good thriller without the Hollywood violence, which I liked. It just goes to show that a murder mystery can be enjoyable without the over-the-top violence.
