This series is getting positively addictive. Glad it comes 3 to a CD, cause 1 episode is deffinately not enough. Michael C Hall, Lauren Velez and Erik King are brilliant. Still cannot stop the cringe factor at Debra Morgans acting though. The plot just keeps getting more interesting.

Pilot started a little shaky in the quality department, but it kept getting better. Actor who plays the sister deffinately needs some acting lessons. But the script is brilliant. I'm really getting into it. If you're sick of the usual cop and murder shows you will deffinately like the unique twists in this one.

This movie was a whole lotta fun. And something a bit different as hollywood comedies go. The penguins are aadorable. Not 1 for the kiddies though!!

I didn't think this movie would be my cuppa, but I was so wrong. I loved it. It is such a rich tapestry of ideas, sensuality, fantasy and a look at the creative woman trapped in the era of a 1950's marriage. Downey is so sensual with just his eyes and mouth seen for most of the movie and Kidman is completely believable.

Not bad. More psychological than scary

What a trip down memory lane (giving away my age lol). Were the effects and acting really that bad?! Surely not lol

Except for the charismatic Jack Thompsons episode, the rest were truly snooze worthy
Usually a King fan but this one was a bit B Grade all round
Average supernatural themed movie.

A starstudded cast in a truly bad movie. Really badly thought out scenes make it a B grade movie experience
A bit cliched. A truly traumatic girly dance sequence thats a 'Mermaids' wanna be. But overall good for some light entertainment.

What can you say about the sheer brilliance of so much talent coming together... in 1 big crescendo of experience: sight, sound and entertainment! I did read some reviews where viewers were dissapointed. This is not surprising, because previous Shrek movies already set such high standards of excellence. People were going to expect a lot from the sequels. Being in the graphic design/ computer imaging biz myself I guess i doubly appreciate what talent goes into bringing this movie alive. I wouldn't know where to begin, myself! I am in AWE of so much amalgamated brilliance!!

It's rare i turn my back on a movie halfway through. Though it can't be said i didnt' watch it the whole way through. I DID what outa 1 eye whilst doing the housework! lol This movie was pathetic. What dont directors get about the 'less is more' principle. By that I mean the UNSEEN/UNKNOWN is so much scarier than silly horror/rubber suits and lame visual tricks (where u can almost smellll the tomato sace lol) ...like this movie!

I seem to go against popular opinion here, but I found this movie only average. Despite loving much of Travolta's work I found him so unappealing in this role. It infact ruined it for me, always being aware of him being a skinny man in a fat suit pretending to be the great role that is the mother in this musical. The young Nicole Blonsky is a blast of fun talented fresh air however.

Got this out to see more of Saunders earlier work since i loved her in the 'Fabulous' series and Shrek. But I could barely summons a smile at this 'comedy' series
Well put together film. Convincing performances from both the leads and the famous cameos

Not bad but too old to be of much relevence for current travel info. Considering the Daddo brother in this had hair and lots of it (lol) I'd circa it around 1990-95
Interesting format but not long enough to be in-depth look at the subject matter

Sheer brilliance. The mind boggles at the incredible talent of all the fields that come together to make these films come to life.

I didn't like the directional format this movie was presented in, with Rush breaking character to inhabit the other characters in Sellers life. A better script certainly would have helped too. However, you cannot fault the incredible talent that is Rush. Always a fan of his, but I think this is deffinately some of his best work, I've seen so far. Get this one out, if only just to enjoy his brilliance

really badly presented documentary. they really had nothing to work with but forged on anyway

very interesting. Presentation is well done

Enjoyed this series at first. But as it has gone on they have gone to more and more extreme ends for ratings. It's become a joke
The snapshot format this is cut in is not great. Pity. Loved the series

Get the aussie flick Strange Bedfellows out instead! Similar storyline, but while Bedfellows excells this bombs resoundingly! It was ridiculously miscast for starters. Sandler as a successful womanising playboy? Come on! Nothing ever rang true, including all the cliched jokes.

Bland and predictable Hollywood chick flick. So why do i keep renting them? I guess they're some harmless fun to chill out to

A lot of fun, amazing animation, but it somehow doesn't quite reach the heights of some other recent animation movies.

I'm sure I'll be revisiting this in another 10 yrs....classic

The fear factor was negated by seeing their rather unscary looking attackers throughout. Made a good start and the plot had deffinate possibilities, but it went downhill fast after that. Worth a look if you've got nothing else to watch.
I had kept pushing this movie further down my list, but was pleasantly surprised to enjoy it more than I expected to. Bullock is brilliant, as was the direction, however as usual McMahons acting was about as inspiring as watching paint dry

Don't waste your time. I couldn't summon so much as a smile at all the weak jokes. One wonders if Williams owed someone a favour to take this one on. There is none of his vintage wit and ad libbing. Was like he was going through the motions. The only chuckle I gave was in the end credits with a scene with the robotic babies...maybe they shoulda based the movie on the babies...would deff get more laughs
(Don't bother!) - review by Kim
Clever psychological drama. Everytime I thought I had it figured out there was a new twist. And what more can you say about Hopkins...ever brilliant. I loved the witty script and the pacing that never left you bored. Highly recommend this one.

A subject matter that certainly needs to be brought to light. However this film is very badly made...so wont even be bothering with the other discs

Methinks Rock should stick to comedy!! His attempts at 'serious acting' are so insincere that to say he flopped is without exaggeration. The 'burst into song' moment near the ending is reminiscent of a Doris Day movie on speed. No wonder he had to buy and finance the movie himself to get to play the lead he so desired. Next time Chris... pleeeease leave it to the experts. Given the basic plot, this could have been a really good movie
Classic movie that highlights the concerns and fears of people at that Cold War time. A little slow
(Worth watching) - review by Kim
Entertaining enough, but a little convoluted and unconvincing in plot

I agree with Eliza's review. Interesting and very chilling to see things from 'thier eyes' rather than via Western governments and media. And yes we need to 'get inside their heads' and try to understand this phenomenon if we are ever to diminish this abhorrent act. Extraordinary footage, but could have done with some better direction and commentary
(Worth watching) - review by Kim
Shocking and interesting insight into some of the lesser known facts of this incident. Noones a winner in a brainwashing type of community vs the US government agencys god-like belief and nature they can do and get away with anything. I wept when the footage revealed how the women and especially the innocent children were trapped and herded like animals into their dead end fiery grave

Felt like the classic formula these clever ladies devised in previous seasons is starting to become stale and over commercial. Not being a Warney - the person - fan (even though I'm a cricket fanatic) I was non-plussed with his cameo's. God does he need his ego stroked any more...Pul-ease!
(Worth watching) - review by Kim
Funny and clever as usual. But deffinately not as classic as previous seasons. However, one wonders where there is left to go with these characters. Everything is starting to feel 'done before.' Hope they quit while they are ahead and things become stale and overdone.

These series have thier moments of interest. It is a subject matter I am fascinated with, being a strong believer, having seen a ghost about 20 years ago myself. However, with this series there is a lot of room for tampering so you wonder how much to believe.

A few interesting moments, but on the whole a less than convincing script, direction and performances
(Worth watching) - review by Kim
I'm all for chick flicks, but this one was a bit fluffly and 'done before soooo many times' even for me
Some good performances, especially from the younger members of the cast, but on the whole the movie is fairly unconvincing

Can't beat classic old english comedy

As 'crime scene investigation' doco's go this one was pretty average
Some elements of the movie were exceptional...like the acting of Jacobsen and direction by his brother. It was so convincing I had to keep reminding myself it wasn't a real doco. However, whilst the humour included some very clever one-liners delivered deadpan by Jacobsen, the movie wasn't really my cuppa. My brother and father recommended it as the 'most hilarious thing they'd seen in years.' THAT alone shoulda been my tip-off! lol

Would have been nice to see things a bit more 'behind the scenes' added
Quite enjoyable. Though why filmakers feel the need to exaggerate aussie-isms I don't know. The accent was a bit cringe-worthy in places

Not just another girly flick. The script and acting had real substance. But I gotta admit watching Lohan kinda turned me off the film a bit.

A good old-fashioned laugh that's timeless.

This film started out sooooo slow I felt like if I heard the 'number 23' for no darn good reason again I would hit my head against a solid brick wall. However, the 2nd half had a lot more meaning , if you can persevere. The film highlights Carrey's dramatic skills as a serious actor however. Hope to see him in more roles that stretch him like this as he was a sexy and talented actor in this kind of role surprisingly

Is there really any excuse for such a big name cast taking on such a B-grade script and direction. Forget Bgrade horro flick and think Z grade. The visual effects are a joke
(Don't bother!) - review by Kim
Quite enjoyed this thriller and well acted for such a young unknown cast. The high technology prolific in the storyline available to a buncha teenagers made it a little unbelievable and laughable in places though.
(Worth watching) - review by Kim
One of the best movies I've seen in ages. Excellent acting, writing and direction. It might be a bit TOO 'feel good'/ 'too good' if not based on the true story.

The extra's on the DVD have an interesting interview with Johnny Depp which admits what I suspected about the movie. It had no real solid script and was created on the run with very loosely formed dream sequences that don't seem to have any flowing meaning to the iconography used. The real saving grace is excellent acting from the entire cast. Lili Taylor is exceptional and Depp and Dunaway give, as usual, outstanding performances

Extremely well made and acted. Suspenseful since I didn't know the real life story. However the lack of payoff at end is rather anti-climactic.

Entertaining enough, but neither Hepburn nor Connerys best

I was cringeing at his stupidity and wanting to turn it off after 10 mins. But then I've never been a Bean fan. I hired it as I seen the amusing trailer and thought it was worth giving this Bean phenomenon a 2nd go. Sadly the ONLY 2 funny scenes in the whole movie were IN the trailer... the other 70 mins were a huge cringe.
Not as good as the classic series, but still a good old-fashioned laugh

Enjoyable but fairly predictable thriller

I love old musicals, but this one had me reaching for the remote in the end, to zip through dance scenes that became wayyyy too long, with no break for any kind of words, storyline or plot.
Was there ever a worse movie ever made? I sincerely doubt it!! Caveh is on a self-indulgent trip into his sexuality, that only he could possibly wish to explore. For the rest of us, the most we can hope for is skin crawling revulsion. I think Caveh could be the only person who possibly believes his own publicity that he is a highly sexual being and a film maker of some artistry. Not! This man is obsessed with himself and has a deranged idea of how seeing his naked flesh all over the screen could appeal to an audience. I'm just glad I had dinner BEFORE i watched the film.

Dark film. Didn't expect to like it, with it's reputation as a young 'cult film', but it really captured a mood that was both thought provoking and strangely compelling.
(Worth watching) - review by Kim
Thoroughly enjoyed this 2nd in the series. Such a pity that so many classic british comedies like this had such a short run, when so many tragic American sitcoms go on for a dozen seasons ad nauseum.

Silence of the Lambs is 1 of my fave movies but this is such a poor imitation. Obviously just made to continue on the money spinner the series is... certainly not because it has anything relevant or worthwhile to add. Some good acting but a deffinate lack of plot and gore for the sake of vile gore.
Really dull, drags on forever but goes nowhere. Anjelica Huston was about as unconvincing as Calamity Jane as you can get. A cardboard cutout coulda acted better than Melanie Griffith as usual. Save wasting 2 and half hrs of your life and steer clear of this one!

Looks at some themes more prevalent in society than we would care to admit. Some interesting aspects, but mostly it was a bit b grade direted to get me in
Based on the true life story of Jung, this movie is not so much about crime and the drug trade, but about the consequences of the choices we make in this world. Yet another brilliant performance from Johnny Depp. He doesn't just become his characters, he 'channels' them. Reubens as the stylist come drug dealer/middleman gives a very entertaining performance also.
(Excellent) - review by Kim
This movie has several genres going on. I enjoyed it at the level of clever satire on the bizarre american political system. I also enjoyed the comedy and stand-up routines of Robin Williams in the first half of the film. Where it fell down for me was when it introduced the thriller aspect, which never rings quite believable viewing. Worth a look though, if only for Williams usual wit and comedy throughout.
(Worth watching) - review by Kim
Starts slow, but in the end she has the audience in the palm of her hand.
(Worth watching) - review by Kim
No plot, no direction and lotsa lame visual effects and violence. This movie ambled along slowly, saved only from being a complete waste of time by Depp's usual class performance. God knows why he wasted his talents on this one though!
I am a big Audrey Hepburn fan and I hired this DVD as it is 1 of the few I have never found and add to my personal collection. What a movie - so far ahead of its' time. I'm sure it was a shock to many filmgoers in its day, tackling as it does, themes of sexuality and acceptance. Whilst you can tell they are avoiding words like 'lesbian' due to censorship of the day, nevertheless the love triangle plot is still powerful due to good acting, direction and script. I will deffinately be looking out for a copy for my collection.
(Excellent) - review by Kim
I loved this movie. I did not see the twists coming at all. It kept me right on the edge of my seat. And what can not be said about Depp - he's a class act. Together with some brilliant direction from Koepp, a fairly good Stephen King story plot becomes a brilliant psychological thriller
(Not to be missed!) - review by Kim
Wow, this series brought back memories, from when I was in College and my housemates 'n' I never missed cramming around 'the box'to watch this classics nightly reruns. It has lost none of its wit and charm through time and I've loved watching it again 2 decades later!
(Excellent) - review by Kim
Interesting watch but fairly predictable. Pretty lightweight film for Depp, but he and Walken save the film with strong performances
(Worth watching) - review by Kim
Despite the title this is no slasher movie. Instead it is a dark satirical look at the classic 'american dream' theme. I think it had the potential to be a good film (I certainly am now interested in reading the book), but stylisically the direction and a lot of the acting seemed at odds. I actually watched several bits of the movie through twice to get my head around what the director was trying to convey - not a good sign.
There is much I love about this movie. An early convincing and engaging performance by Leonardo DiCaprio is the highlight. Depp and Juliette Lewis also shine by bringing offbeat performances to their characters as usual. Bittersweet human drama.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Kim
Quirky romantic comedy. This movie may have be quite average, but is elevated by another mesmerizing portrayal of yet another misfit character by Depp
(Excellent) - review by Kim
I forced myself to patiently stay with this movie as I believe it is a very significant film. It deffinately should have been made as it takes us inside a world we may otherwise never have known. Even if just for historic record of a culture that has sadly been fast dissapearing from our planet. But I deffinately could not say I enjoyed it
(Worth watching) - review by Kim
Thought provoking beautifully directed film. I did find Javier Bardem as Reinaldo a little difficult to understand with his heavily accented English. Oliver Martinez is outstanding as Lazaro. But again the film showcases Johnny Depp's talent. Watch out for his convincing portrayal of the cross dressing Bon Bon, only to have him 10 mins later reappear in the dual role of Reinaldo's hard talking interrogator Lt Victor. Amazing. The movie is a little slow in places but you'll be glad if you can stay with it.
(Excellent) - review by Kim
Offbeat psychological journey. Worth a look, even if just for yet another stunning performance from Johnny Depp. The b&w especially allows us to see how much emotion Depp can convey even in stillness.
(Worth watching) - review by Kim
This film is already being hailed as another of the 'best of all time.' However I must admit, to me it is just another film like Pulp Fiction where Hollywood meets Arthouse film, I just cannot get into.
A very dark film you deffinately need an open mind for. You will either love it or hate it. But whatever side you are on, you cannot deny Johnny Depp is his usual brilliant self. I didn't like this actor younger, but must admit to being spellbound by the unique characters he has challenged himself with in these later years. From Depps opening soliloquy i was spellbound by his performance, and yes I admit it, his sensuality in the role.
