Slow, boring and pointless are but a few words I'd use to describe this movie. It deviates way to far from what makes the Rocky series great. My advice, skip the first 3/4 of the movie, you won't miss anything.
That said, the fight scene at the end was still great. I found myself cheering the geriatric Rocky on. despite my best efforts to control myself. More of the movie should have been devoted to the boxing part rather than the "the wold is sad and I'm old" part.
Two stars for me.

This is the best movie I've seen in a long time. Well written script and very witty dialog, throw in some heavy weight actors and you have yourself a very entertaining couple of hours.
I'm not a big laugh out loud person but I was nearly in tears with some of the lines.
How did I not know about this movie before? Missed it at the movies completely. Makes the rental that much better I guess. Watch this movie.

Good performances by the cast and a relatively interesting story make it almost worth a watch. I found it ran far too long to the point I lost interest completely towards the end and just wanted closure, which didn't really come.
It's no way near the caliber of LA Confidential, which I can't help but compare to, but it still has its good points. My guess is it would have been better if the story wasn't based on truth.

When I see a sequel on the shelves of the video store (or the web in this case) where the main character/actor from the original is missing, warning bells always sound. In this case, the bells ring true. Highly unoriginal and predictable story with highly unoriginal and predictable jokes. Ryan Renalds made Van Wilder the greatness that it is and without him the movie falls way short of the mark.
If you loved Van Wilder, don't ruin it by watching this.

This movie is full of corny movie cliches that you'd expect from seeing the preview. It's a little bit dumb but still somehow entertaining. I'd imagine the middle age demographic would enjoy it the most.

This movie is fully animated (mostly by hand) in post production directly from the filmed movie, providing a unique and somewhat mind-bending film experience. An all-star cast (especially for an independent film) deliver outstanding performances. An interesting story based on drugs and undercover narcotic police. Extra features are also interesting as it shows how they made the effects.
This is a must see for art-house and independent movie goers. Those who prefer mainstream movies may find it less interesting.

Despite a storyline that's more than a little bit corny and a sluggish start (during the early years), I couldn't help but enjoy watching a flaming skeleton rampaging around on his motorbike. This movie just has enough in it to make it worth the rent, even more so if you have Blu-ray, the visuals are very nice in high def.
Strangely enough it lost all of its "Texas" feel the first scene that had a recognisable Melbourne backdrop. While its great to play spot the location it tends to detract from the story. This won't be an issue as long as no one mentions it was filmed in Melbourne (whoops, too late).
The extras (on Blu-Ray anyway) are quite extensive which of course leads to the inevitable trade-off of being a little boring. There's quite a bit on the "making of" where you get to see inside conversations to get some insight on how it all works. Nice if you have nothing better to do.

This is a bad movie. Half a plot which somehow dissapears three quarters of the way through. On the plus side this would have to be one of the best movies for the game of "count the movie cliche's". Seriously, how did they fit so many in without it being a satire? Credit where credit is due.
