Oh, Gerard Depardieu you know I can't resist you and now it appears that Uma can't either. A boisterous extravagant setting that I couldn't leave until the end. Loud and overthetop!!!

Wow; I loved this movie. The grandur of it all - and I actually got goose bumps with the romance of Victoria
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
The movie is a weird little tangled web of nothing really.

A good movie but a lie is a lie is a lie and this movie depicts the sadness and reality of how a lie affects all round very well.

"Dumplings" really is a weird movie. Good subtitles; but no thank you very much - no dumplings for me - yuck!

A charming little movie. But who is the punce who did a terrible job of impersonating Hugh Grant. If you watch the movie you will instantly know who I mean.

I wouldn't rave about this one - I watched it through and didn't fall asleep so it couldn't have been too bad.

A laugh a minute and we sure loved the great dance scene - thank you Wog Boy.

Lots of action and if this is how Robin Hood originated then the plot is pretty good. Russell scrubbed up well in the outfit and Kate played a believeable Marion. We enjoyed it!
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
I can't believe that I watched a Si-Fi movie and ended up crying - Steven Spielberg you are indeed a master of your art. The movie is watchable to the very end and Haley Joel Osment plays a believeable robot child.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Loved Ralph Fiennes playing the three different generation roles in this movie. His usual skills are finely tuned and I must say he sure does anger well and the love scenes are up to scratch. Top movie - great storyline - a must watch in my view.

A quirky and definately eccentric movie which kept us glued.

A fluffy little movie with lots of funny scenes - entertaining to the end.

The title of the movie sounds more interesting than it was. However the scenes between George Clooney and Ewan Mcgregor were quite hilarious at times. Watchable but not great.

What an hilarious romp - I really enjoyed The Wog Boy - Nick Giannopoulos has the nack of making the job of acting look real. Glad I finally got to see this one.

I've lost count of how many times I've viewed this movie and when I saw it on the Quickflix files I just had to view it one more time. As usual I cried buckets of tears at the end - this is a real classic.

This is a movie with a difference. I found myself deeply involved with the storyline with the ending putting a look of pure satisfaction on my face. Well acted and with easy to read subtitles - the man of our house dosen't like reader movies but sat glued when he happened in on my viewing time.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Heath, Heath, at last I got to see your proformance in the Dark Knight. You were a real star; in fact a pure genius in the way you gave us "The Joker", may you now rest in peace. With a little Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine my night was truly made. The movie is loud, a little hard to follow at times mostly because it moves so quickly and it is violent. Next time please don't forget Robin: we missed him.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Powerful drama which is not to be missed - left me with a huge ball of emotion in my chest.

I saw this movie at the Theatre and thought it was worth another look. I was right - well acted, thoroughly entertaining and leaves you with the urge to read Jane Austen again.

If I had "2 Days in Paris" I wouldn't spend it constantly arguing with my man. What a waste of a stopover. Watch if you want to brush up on your French - good subtitles and some very funny bits - although not funny enough to make me laugh.
(Maybe) - review by Barbara
The movie is in Danish but the subtitles are good and easy to read. The tale was an interesting mixture of family squabbles, drama and intrigue. Not exactly one to write home about; but watchable. Probably good if you want to brush up on your Danish skills.

Pow, bam, yahoo and ha, ha, ha - a watchable and funny movie.

The 110 minutes disappeared in a flash as this movie is not only watchable from beginning to end it keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Really good - nothing like fact put into a movie. Hilary Swank made a believeable Amelia when you see the real Amelia Erhart's photo. Well filmed and quite riviting in places.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
A sad tale; fairly well acted with a charming little boy in 10 year old Chris. I felt the movie unfinished with a disappointing ending.
(Maybe) - review by Barbara
Watchable from beginning to end - I really loved the pairing of Johnny Depp and Charlize Theron. A thriller with spooky bits.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
A lot of marshall arts supported by a tragic story - I cried buckets at the end which was no doubt helped along by my favourite piece of music from the Opera.

I really approve of my birthday gift thank you Quickflix. It made good Mother's Day viewing and made me feel eternally grateful for my healthy family. The Black Balloon is a heartwrenching film which is no doubt all too true for some families. Well acted and watchable to the very end. Thanks again Quickflix for your gift.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
After all the hype I was disappointed with this movie - maybe it was the interconnecting stories which didn't quite connect for me. It was all quite an accident really.
(Maybe) - review by Barbara
A thoroughly entertaining movie with a few good twists.

They must have caught Susan Sarandon in a weak moment - the movie is wacky and weird with the occasional great moment in song,

(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
A rabble of unimpressive acting - a real nightmare wedding leaving me wondering why I watched it to the end. P.S. I did nod off a couple of times.
(Don't bother!) - review by Barbara
So sad - only fiction I know but a young life spoilt by not enough Mothering. I wouldn't really recommend spending time on this movie. Subtitles ran a little too fast and storyline was pretty poor.
(Don't bother!) - review by Barbara
Brilliant - Meryl Streep at her best! Enjoyed every scene and didn't want the movie to finish.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Barbara
Just between you and me the "Synopsis" of the movie was more interesting than the actual movie. However if you want some tips on how to pick someone up at a wedding then watch for sure.
(Maybe) - review by Barbara
A bit of a dud really - if it wasn't for the role of John Corbett. Rather liked his grungy look for a change but the dialogue was difficult to understand - maybe capsions would help!!!!!!!!
(Don't bother!) - review by Barbara
It sure is a rapid-fire tale with a surprise role for John Corbett - watch till the end or you will miss out. Oh, by the way - the lobster dish sure looked incredible.

A rolicking good movie set in Ireland in days gone by. No bad language, no nudity but alot of interesting twists, good humor and romance. This one is guaranted to set you laughing and clapping your hands in glee.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Obviously a very fictiional movie with blood, drama and terror. The pairing of Ralph Fiennes and Donald Sutherland went down well. Both have superb voices and could act themselves out of a paper bag so it made a mediocre movie good.
(Maybe) - review by Barbara
A "Claytons Movie" - you know, the movie you watch when your not watching a movie. If it wasn't for Scarlett

I didn't know any of the actors but thought the movie sounded interesting when I ordered it. Boy, it sure was and I will be looking out for Kimberly Elise again; she played a great part as Helen. Sad, funny, and at times outragesly crazy the movie is good viewing.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Don't be put off by the Hindi version of Water - it is great with English capsions but also narated by Deepa Mehta who speaks with such feeling and explains the movie most thoroughly and beautifully.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
A good movie; certainly a crime thriller. No guns, much blood or dead bodies but it will keep you rivited for what's next.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Not a memorable movie but easily watched. Even if the subtitles weren't there you can follow the flow of the storyline.
(Maybe) - review by Barbara
The storyline is pretty simple and the acting stilted on occasion compared to today's standards. However we enjoyed the movie, a little violent at times, and possibly disturbing to our indigenious brothers and sisters. Since the movie is set in 1955 we can see that times have certainly changed.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara

Our mysterious neighbours never turn out to be quite as intriguing as Diane's. An interestingly weird movie that held my attention - however hubby thought it a dud.

The movie stopped short of this valiant little boys enduring journey to find his Mother. OK, so I've spoiled the end; but even though the subtitles left some to the imagination Vanya's journey is worth a watch.

Sometimes you wonder why a script writer even bothered to write the movie - this is one of them. Of course if you want to watch how to make your life miserable then this one is for you.
(Don't bother!) - review by Barbara
The movie was well put together with the past/present scenes melding intogether with a rythm. Drew Barrymore played the mother with believeable skill.

Ah Stephen King - you make me laugh, you make me cry and you scare the living daylights out of me. Guess what! you even kept my sleepy husband awake. If you love a horror/thriller then this one is great.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
A simple everyday story; but what a shame the boys's mother took off - she should have at least taught them not to swear. Their language left alot to be desired. Hugh Jackman puts in a good performance; but then again he always does.

Dear me Mrs Stone - you sure got yourself in a fix. All I can say is when in Rome beware the Paolo's.

I thought Lipstick was quite clever in the way it exposed Geralyn's journey through breast cancer - maybe it could be issued to all women diagnosed to help them understand how others feel. Having lost close friends to breast cancer I felt the journey was quite real.

I liked the pairing of Michael Caine

Scarlett always plays a good role and she does well at being Annie the Nannie - watchable to the end.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
The story line was a little hard to follow at times. However the movie is worth a watch if only for the recipe of how to boil an egg in the bush if you don't have any water. We always have alot to learn from our New Australians.

(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
You don't actually have to watch this movie to enjoy it - just listen to the music in the background and take it how it comes. Funny in places, pretty stupid, clever, disappointing at times and then wammo your watching again. It's worth it to hear Drew Barrymore laugh again.
(Maybe) - review by Barbara
What alot of fun this movie is - it's worth watching to view the hideous bridesmaid outfits. Whoever wrote the script had a vivid imagination.

Interesting interaction between the three sisters - watch this one for Joan Plowright's performance - she is always a treat.

Dramatic tragedy is more the point than drama/romance. A well acted movie with no "Bollywood" in sight. It showed the sparceness of India as well as the poverty which I have experienced first hand in my travels there of recent times. The storyline is easily captured even with the reading script - it is well transcribed.

Shirley & Meryl were great playing the Mother/Daughter roles in this movie. In real life the craft of Acting must be a real pain in the behind sometimes if some of the scenes are to be believed. Then that's life isn't it.
