Enjoyed this one. Nice to see parts of Israel not in rubble.

For fans of the movies, with the added bonus of appearances of Rita Moreno on film and as guest commentator.

Terrific. A slightly different take on what it must be like in war.
(Excellent) - review by John
Very entertaining with a terrific cast (perhaps a bit overloaded with "stars") but I did enjoy it.
(Worth watching) - review by John
I rather surprised myself by enjoying this very much. Adams was a bit of a bore, but Streep was terrific. Very entertaining.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Belmondo and Deneuve are always worth a look. I quite enjoyed it.
(Worth watching) - review by John
The lucky bastard of the titlke certainly wasn't this viewer. Slow and with a boring leading man.

Well, I lasted until Dafoe made an appearance and then turned it off.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
After nearly an hour of dreary, I turned it off (and removed the next movie from my queue). The second star is for the (non vocal) music.
Great cast and quite entertaining, but it doesn't really stay with you.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Much as I like Dafoe, this hasn't stayed with me and I'm afraid I fine Osment a bit of one note actor.
(Worth watching) - review by John
I finally gave in and had a look at this one. I must admit I don't like Kristen Stewart. There's really not much to it if you're over 12.
Great cast in a so so movie. I was entertained, though not as much as I thought I would be.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Despite an absolutely preposterous story, I enjoyed every minute,
(Excellent) - review by John
Up to DeCaprio entering the lighthouse and the end dragging on for what seemed like forever I enjoyed this very much. Fine production and design and en excellent cast.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Loved it. Unusual and thought provoking. Kate Winslet is fantastic.
(Excellent) - review by John
Very far from Doyle (and even Rathbone, for that matter), but with Downey and Law how can you not be swept up. Enjoyed it.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Raw in almost every sense, this is more interesting than entertaining.
In your face and certainly not for all, this is engrossing fare. An amazing performance by Tom Hardy in a pretty amazing film. Couldn't stop watching.
(Not to be missed!) - review by John
Not as deep as it tries to be at times, it's not bad entertainment. Reasonably humorous and with an attractive cast.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Apart from the obvious flaws, this one is basically a bore. Don't bother.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
I remember (without recalling it in any great detail) that the original TV series was excellent. So I was rather pleasantly surprised that this version was so good. A generally uncomplicated story was well executed and, to my surprise, I was very impressed with Gibson's performance. Enjoyed it very much.
(Excellent) - review by John
Loved it. Wonderful movie for all ages. If this one doesn't make you feel good, there's something wrong.
(Not to be missed!) - review by John
Well, as entertaining and at times as confusing as the first four seasons I still love this series. Still great TV and I look forward to the final season.
(Excellent) - review by John
Loved this one. Stunningly photographed and designed with an outstanding cast, this is great entertainment. The humour very black although I must admit I didn't particularly like the throat cutting, scalping or swastika carving. Terrific ending.
(Excellent) - review by John
Loved it. A disaster movie on a par with (if not better than) similar Hollywood products. Impressive special effects and an excellent cast make this great entertainment. My only complaint: the containers and cigarette lighter sequence on the bridge bordering on farce.
(Excellent) - review by John
Straightforward action thriller which starts in quite a grim mode, but then lightens up. Belmondo at his best. Very entertaining, although at times quite violent. I enjoyed this one very much.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Fairly entertaining, but a bit too gross at times to be wildly funny.
Hard to classify this, but enthralling and entertaining. Terrific leads.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Probably solid, rather than great, action with very attractive leads. I was very entertained though.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Totally original and very entertaining. Wonderful to see a non-Hollywood Sci-Fi outing. Says more than you see on the screen and very impressively produced, despite, I would imagine a very low budget.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Too much unexplained and what was the point of Val Kilmer's appearance? A storyline that seemed to not quite get together. All in all, not up to much.
Wonderfully evocative with excellent performances, I felt this one just missed greatness. Johnny Depp never disappoints and he does't here, but...
(Excellent) - review by John
Even if it had nothing else going for it, it's got Toni Collette. But this one pushes all the right buttons. It's funny, heart-warming and ultimately inspiring. Great stuff and no surprise that it's yet another wonderful Aussie movie.
(Excellent) - review by John
Certainly a new twist on the vampire, with a very different storyline. I didn't like the generic look of the film as it didn't evoke a sense of place (or time) for me. An excellent cast do well, but opportunities for suspense or genuine horror give way to very bloody gore. Could have been so much better.
(Worth watching) - review by John
I know I'm reviewing this a while after the event, but I really can't recall much about it. It can't have been that bad though, so I suppose it was okay.
Eastwood and indeed, the entire cast are excellent in this totally engrossing movie. The ending was a bit of a shock, but I loved this one.
(Excellent) - review by John
More something to experience than to enjoy as a straighforward movie. A bit different, but, I would suggest, not for all.
Fairly entertaining, but lacked punch. Could have been better.
Another Glynis Johns title I enjoyed (naturally). Kenneth Williams appears in a role slightly different to his "Carry On" ones.
(Worth watching) - review by John
As a fan of Glynis Johns since childhood, I always enjoy anything she appears in and Robert Newton is always good value.

More akin to Disney's Swiss Family Robinson than Defoe's Robinson Crusoe, this is nonetheless greatly entertaining. Terrific to look at with excellent casting, this should be enjoyed by all.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Not as amusing as the first one and definately a lot more gross. Don't bother.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
I should have known better after "Epic Movie". Definately not as funny as it could have been with some scenes dragged out to the extreme.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
It's Hitchcock and pretty great Hitch at that. As a fan of the master, need I say more?
(Excellent) - review by John
Well, to be quite honest, I don't remember a thing about it. Perhaps I returned it without watching. More likely, it left no impression despite the cast.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
I'm not really a fan of David Lynch and can never understand what all the fuss about him is. This has a pretty good cast, but you could hardly call it great art or entertainment. I did enjoy Willem Dafoe's death, though.
Good cast (even Ryan Reynolds didn't worry me, although I'm not a fan) and pretty good movie.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Didn't last the distance, despite the cast which is why it rates a second star.
Great fun for movie buffs and those of us who've forgotten a lot of the movies introduced. Treat yourself and enjoy.
(Worth watching) - review by John
At times confronting, but well produced and performed.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Enjoyable, if rather old fashioned entertainment with the late, great Bette Davis and a pretty good cast.
(Worth watching) - review by John
If you're not too fussy and really don't want to strain your brain.
I always enjoy a Bruce Willis movie, although this one less than some.
Of its type, not bad, although a bit dark (and gory) for me.
A story with some incredibly illogical situations (and big breasts) where really, the dragon is the only goodie. The special effects may have been reasonably impressive fifty years ago, but not now. Some of the scenery is nice.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Not too bad a story, not too badly told, with relatively little gore. But like most modern horror fils no suspense and not a scare to be had. If you're not too fussy...
Even a fan of 50's sci-fi/horror like me has some standards and these two didn't meet them. Don't bother.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Fantastic and fantastically entertaining with a well nigh perfect cast. A classic by now and not to be missed.
(Not to be missed!) - review by John
Great movie, moving and funny with a great cast. The Bollywood sequence at the closing credits is guarenteed to leave you feeling good. Don't miss it.
(Not to be missed!) - review by John
I'm really enjoying this series which seems to get better with each film. Keep them coming.
(Excellent) - review by John
Classic movie and certainly classic Dietrich with a stunning Emil Jannings.
(Not to be missed!) - review by John
I thought I'd reviewed this, but obviously not. Good to see Dafoe in something decent for a change. Very evocative design and well performed and directed, I honestly couldn't recommend it to all.
(Worth watching) - review by John
I quite like Rowan Atkinson usually, but I actually found this a bit ordinary.
If we are to believe what we are seeing is factual, then Crawford WAS pretty terrifying. As a portrait of the "movie star" as gleaned from what we see in Crawford's films and interviews etc. Dunaway is astonishingly good and I'm not actually a fan. Pretty good entertainment in any case.
(Worth watching) - review by John
I love Craig as Bond, although the "character" itself seems to getting a bit too serious. This one highlights the tremendous contribution stunt players and editors make to action films of this type. I look forward to more Craig as Bond, but hope that some of the lightheartedness will return.
(Excellent) - review by John
Another chapter of the war that perhaps is little known about. The interviews are engrossing. Well worth watching.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Well it's certainly an improvement on the grade B B movie that it "recycles". Makes one recall Peter Graves years later in Flying High. Mildly amusing.
Pleasant enough entertainment with an attractive cast.
(Worth watching) - review by John
With this cast you're at least promised entertainment and it didn't disappoint. Peters is strangely cast and Bronson ideally so. Lancaster gets to show off, so there's something for all.
(Worth watching) - review by John
I suppose I'm hooked as I continue to watch this series. More of the same, although possibly gorier.
An unpleasant leading female character and her dimwitted offsider got me into a bad frame of mind to begin with. The Dafoe character injected some life but by the time he died I 'd had enough of the bad dialogue and a story seemingly going nowhere, so I gave up. Hi-tech crap.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
I'd forgotten that I'd seen this before, so I obviously wasn't all that impressed the first time around. Nor the second for that matter. despite a good cast and production, it didn't really grab me.
A great cast tell a fascinating story of more of the horrors of WW2. Based on fact, my only complaint is the personal lives of many aren't delved into. None the less, a part of history that needed to be told and which further highlights how many unknown heroes from this terrible time still need their stories to be told. Well worth watching.
(Excellent) - review by John
Very entertaining as were the first two and I look forward to the next in the series.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Watched rather reluctantly, because of the bad press, I was more than pleasantly surprised. Big, sprawling, romantic in every sense of the word and unashamedly old-fashioned, I was thoroughly entertained from start to finish. A fantastic cast (even Kidman didn't leave me cold, although her lips were a bit of a worry (has she been trout pouted?)). Loved it!
(Excellent) - review by John
Terrific!
(Excellent) - review by John
Pleasant enough entertainment with a good cast.
Interesting and entertaining.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Engrossing and at times disturbing. The Mexican story was quite unsettling.
(Excellent) - review by John
I shouldn't bother.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
I honestly don't remember anything about this one, so it can't have been up to much.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Strange and strangely engrossing, some parts appear unnecessarily violent. The two stars' performances cannot be faulted. The ending, however, I admit to not having a clue about. Not for all.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Quite entertaining and Rupert Everett is very good. Comparisons are inevitable and Alastair Sim, Joyce Grenfell and George Cole are all the more fondly remembered.
Despite some quite gross scenes, I was very entertained by this one. An attractive cast performed well and it was fun.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Fantastic design and effects and an excellent cast. I do worry when movies time-shift but I just went with it. I'm a great fan of the original series and I loved this.
(Not to be missed!) - review by John
Well crafted, but excessively gory and what was the point?
I really should have known better. Fell asleep. Don't waste your time.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Enjoyed this very much. Samuel L Jackson is great. Talk about your neighbour from hell.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Horrific and horrifying, it has no redeeeming qualities.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
One of movie's greats. Frightening, suspenseful and fascinating to look at. A great cast keeps you enthralled.
(Not to be missed!) - review by John
The Egypt connection got me in, but I found it very confusing and not particularly good. Probably for fans.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
I should have known better. Be warned.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Loved it. How can you miss being entertained when you have Willem Dafoe and Marcia Gay Harden?
(Excellent) - review by John
Although I got a bit confused at times (not difficult for me), I thought this quite fascinating.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Excellent. Good cast in fine coming out drama.
(Worth watching) - review by John
I'm afraid it didn't grab me and I gave up after about twenty minutes.
Great entertainment and it has Willem Dafoe.

Horrifying and fascinating.

I can get confused in movies like this, but not this time. Terrific cast and I was totally caught up in it and entertained.

Rubbish, don't bother. I caught glimpses as i fast forwarded most of it.

This was a great experience in Cinerama and it's a pretty good one on DVD. Great entertainment.
(Excellent) - review by John
For a change a true story based on horrific events that doesn't rely just on sensationalism. This is not to say that it skips the horror of the events portrayed. Not for all.
Beautifully cast and executed, this is really quite frightening. I would have liked to know more about the villains and why.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Jean-Paul Belmondo is always good value and he didn't disappoint. I was thoroughly entertained by this one.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Quite evocative of the period, but with some awful acting. After about half an hour of going nowhere I gave up.
My original review seems to have disappeared into the ether, even though my history shows a five star rating. A superb and atmospheric drama beautifully produced and performed.
(Not to be missed!) - review by John
Great fun which I found very entertaining. Too long (it could have lost the "nest" scene without any discontinuity) and the ending did drag out a bit. Nice to see New York instead of Tokyo destroyed for a change. Enjoyed it very much.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Despite the cast, this really didn't grab me.
Gave up and you should't bother.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Great Sci-fi. Have a look and catch the movies as well.

Not typical Hitchcock but excellent stuff. Vera Miles is outstanding.
(Excellent) - review by John
The series is starting to get silly.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Not bad but not as enjoyable as the first one.
Interesting enough, but obviously not for all.
One of the screen's all time favourites and of course, it has a great cast including the great Charles Bronson.
(Excellent) - review by John
Okay, but the original's better and it did have Lee Remick.
Getting sillier by the movie.

I didn't know anything about this and only watched the Willen Dafoe episode. Very odd and oddly entertaining.
Two stars for the interesting cast. Not much has remained in the old memory.
The late great Arthur Kennedy is the only reason to watch this, althought the production values are fine.
Beautifully told and wonderfully entertaining. A unique and very funny film. Watch this one.
(Not to be missed!) - review by John
Entertaining.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Might open a few eyes and for that reason is worth watching. Good cast with the always reliable Bruce Davison.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Maybe I fell asleep, but I don't really recall this at all. It does have Denzel Washington, so it rates at least two stars.
The first entry was okay, but by this time they just got sillier. For fans of the series only.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Not bad and of course, it's a Bronson.
Watched for Charles Bronson, the added attraction of the screen's love goddess guarentees you'll be entertained.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Jean-Paul Belmondo always entertains, so is always worth a look.
Entertaining enough without being anything out of the ordinary. I didn't think Harryhausen's effects were up to his usual standard.
Another Dafoe dud that had me so confused about 30 minutes in that I almost gave up. I left it on but really didn't pay much attention. Not very good despite the cast.
Classic 50s sci-fi with 'good' aliens and lovely Barbara Rush.
(Excellent) - review by John
The trouble with being a Willem Dafoe fan is having to sit through rubbish like this. It rates a second star, because I quite enjoyed the music.
Not the greatest of Hollywood's epics but very entertaining with a terrific cast. Watch for Tyrone Power in long shot (as Solomon).
(Worth watching) - review by John
Pretty close to the bone as it turns out and pretty good entertainment.
(Worth watching) - review by John
The episodic nature of the storyline made it difficult to relate to the characters, but some individual scenes were excellent. I nearly gave up early on, but stuck with it.
Okay, but I was a bit confused at times. Foest Whitaker was wasted and I wonder why he bothered doing such a nothing role.
Not bad for an American horror movie. Pretty entertaining.
Not a great fan of the fantasy genre (I found what I saw of the first Harry Potter boring), I was quite entertained by this one. Even Nicole Kidman turned in something resembling a pretty good performance.
The black comedy and Betty White meant a very entertaining movie was Lake Placid. Despite Cloris Leachman's presence, this one's a dud.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Enjoyed this, though, at times, I thought it was a bit silly. The crocodile was terrific.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Don't bother. One of the boring 'gay' movies.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Stunning production values and Cate Blanchett mean a pretty good time. Perhaps not quite as good as the first film.
(Excellent) - review by John
I seem to recall not liking this very. If I had, I'm sure I'd remember it better.
Offbeat but engrossing, with a fine cast. Perhaps not for all, but a fine film.
(Worth watching) - review by John
It's been a while, but as I recall, I enjoyed this one. A 'gay' movie thaty isn't full of boring and/or pretentious people.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Like a lot of people, all I really knew about Stanley and Livingstone was a romantic adventure that finished with "Dr Livingstone, I presume". Not only extremely entertaining, I found this movie to be very enlightening. The cast is terrific and the production fine.
(Excellent) - review by John
Not a great film despite the director and cast. As a fan, Charles Bronson was my reason for watching. Entertaining.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Great cast and inspiring story make for terrific entertainment. Enjoyed this very much.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Great Bronson and a very strange murderer make for bloody, but good, entertainment.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Great cast in terrific movie. Sweet Davis and, for a change, nasty de Havilland, make for great entertainment.

A personal favourite since first seeing it Sydney's State theatre in its initial release. A terrific adventure film with a great cast.
(Excellent) - review by John
Does tacking a story about seemingly unhappy people onto some graphic sex scenes un-porn a movie? I really couldn't see the point of the whole thing.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
One of Bronson's best and with a great ending. Great stuff.
(Excellent) - review by John
Possibly Hitchcock's most graphic movie and with nary a character to relate to. Even the hero is a bit hard to take.

From what I recall, it's your basic rubbish, watched only for John Ireland, an actor I used to admire.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Didn't read the book and really the movie didn't inspire me to. Bale is terrific, but the black humour, intended or otherwise didn't really come off.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
I watched this for one reason and that wasn't Brando. Rita Moreno is as always stunning.
Disturbing at times and certainly not for all.

A superb Bette Davis in a virtually flawless Warner Bros classic.
(Not to be missed!) - review by John
Script at times was very silly and the main character was extremely irritating and what was that ending all about? Give it a miss. Maybe for the director's fans.
An all time personal favourite with all three stars in great form. Wonderful music including a couple of real showstoppers.
(Not to be missed!) - review by John
Terrific cast, terrific entertainment.

A masterpiece with an outstanding cast. Henry Fonda is one of the most evil villains in movie history, and of course, Charles Bronson is there.

(Worth watching) - review by John
A very attractive cast (including Charles Bronson) in a very entertaining movie.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Great Hitchcock and great entertainment. An excellent cast and special effects add to the excitement. Still scary after nearly half a century.
(Excellent) - review by John
I quite enjoyed this one. Arthur Kennedy is, as usual, fantastic.
It's Hitchcock, and probably better Hitchcock than generally regarded. As a fan, I naturally found it engrossing and entertaining.
(Worth watching) - review by John
I'm not sure what this was supposed to be, but I found it quite amusing at times. I watched mainly to see Dietrich and Novak and I wasn't dissapointed in either of them.
Although the storyline is really nothing new and the special effects are variable I quite enjoyed this one. An attractive cast perform reasonably well.
Well, if it's ancient Egypt I'm there. Fine production values as you would expect from this studio. A pretty good cast and interesting story make this reasonable entertainment.
Great entertainment.

Cast more for her legendary beauty than histrionic abilities, Taylor is basically miscast. Burton is Burton and Harrison is pretty good. George Cole is a standout and McDowell and others are excellent. A very literate script and outstanding production values make for pretty good entertainment. Its infamy achieved during production has basically ensured that it has been underrated. Not the greatest of movies, but a true spectacular that couldn't be made today without computers.

This one stars the wondrous Glynis Johns and for me, no more need be said. Quite entertaining with an excellent cast.
(Not to be missed!) - review by John
Fabulous production and great cast and a script based on Agatha Christie's novel guarentee entertainment. Lansbury, Davis and Smith are standouts. Ustinov is excellent, but the character definitivily belongs to David Suchet

Don't waste your time.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
It's directed by the master, so at the very least you'll be entertained. Lightweight Hitchcock with a few typical touches.
(Worth watching) - review by John
There's not much that hasn't been said about this legendary movie. A much loved classic that entertains still. Everything about it is well nigh perfect.
(Not to be missed!) - review by John
Desmond Bagley was my favourite thriller writer and he would be spinning in his grave over what has been done to a terrific book. Why obtain a property for production and then gut it? All the adventure, excitement, mystery and thrills have been removed as well as a couple of key characters. Not only has the story been changed, but also locales and nationalities. The "tray" is still referred to as a tray, but as its design has been changed and as it has a hole in the bottom why not call it something else?Love the book but as a version of same or as a movie in its own right, it stinks.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
One of Hollywood's greatest soaps and beautifully produced. A big hit in its day and still thoroughly entertaining. Terrific acting throughout with Arthur Kennedy delivering a stunning performance (as usual) and Hope Lange, Betty Field and Russ Tamblyn outstanding. A great personal favourute.
(Excellent) - review by John
Not the greatest of war movies, but quite entertaining with a good cast. It would have looked terrific on the Cinerama screen.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Haven't read the books but I turned the first movie off as it was boring me. I removed the next two from my queue and didn't watch this or the previous one.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Didn't watch as the first in the series didn't grab me.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Didn't watch.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Despite a terrific adult cast and a generally good junior one, I gave up after about an hour and twenty minutes. All the ingredients were there, but it lacked punch and in fact was basically a bit boring. I won't bother with others in the series now.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Although not quite what I expected, i found this one absorbing and entertaining.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Rough, tough and in your face. I enjoyed this one.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Entertaining and for lovers of ballet (me excluded) probably more of a treat. But it has Bancroft and MacLaine- how can you resist?
(Worth watching) - review by John
Enjoyable as an action flick it also offers some insight into middle eastern culture.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Loved it. Totally entertaining and, as is to be expected, beautifully produced and performed. It's actually a 1996 mini-series.
(Excellent) - review by John
Only watched enough to realise that I hadn't read the description properly. I'm not into "anime" and didn't actually watch it.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Perhaps not up to the standard of other Schneer/Harryhausen efforts this is still very entertaining. Bonus is the part filmed in Petra, Jordan.
(Worth watching) - review by John
For the entire season. At times I still get 'lost' particularly with the shifts in time and space, bit this is still great television.
(Excellent) - review by John
A bit confusing at times, but excellent. The entire cast is terrific and the ending a bit of a jolt.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Marginally better than that other gay supernatural series, Dante's Cove, this one still has the usual quota of designer actors with designer bodies and hairdos. Reasonably enetertaining.
Great cast and music. This musical seems to go on and on and never age.
(Excellent) - review by John
Should, to my mind, have been more emotionally involving than it was. A good cast and production, but I thought it was a bit ordinary.
This certainly sounded more interesting than it played. Good production and effects and not a bad cast, but what was it about?
In the final episode of the creature trilogy, the poor gill man suffers the ultimate indignity... becoming human (well sort of). Not up to the standard of "The Creature From the Black Lagoon", but still entertaining for fans.
Possibly I just wasn't in the mood, but I only lasted about 30 minutes before turning this off. I might give it another go at a later date. I found the bit I did watch sombre and bleak and very hard going.
Some quite entertaining episodes from this popular series with some very impressive casts. The episode "Two" with Charles Bronson was my main reason for watching and he was teamed with the terrific Elizabeth Montgomery.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Lacked punch and should have been a bit steamier. Charles Bronson is always worth a look, but all a bit of a non event.
Another exploiation of fact based events. Don't bother.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
This one must have been pretty bad. I can't really remember it.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Dullsville. Give it a miss.

Another good 50s sci-fi with excellent special effects. I enjoyed this one very much.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Well, I found this a bit hard going at the beginning and in fact fast forwarded most of it. Don't bother.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Apart from a good performance by Spader and an outstanding one by Downey, Jr. this really hasn't got anything going for it. Basically boring.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Not bad of its type, although a bit excessively gory at times.
I found this irritating and in fact fast forwarded almost all of it.
(Don't bother!) - review by John

Review for Season Two. More of the same great TV.
(Excellent) - review by John
Garbage. Don't bother.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
I wouldn't bother.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
I thought I'd reviewed this, but better late than never. Considering the very intriguing and entertaining source material and the talent involved in this movie it's a mega disappointment. In fact, it's basically a bore.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Actually a mini-series, this is quite entertaining and it does have Daniel Craig.
(Worth watching) - review by John
This for the series. I saw this first time around on free to air and then for one reason or another got "lost" and missed most of the later series. Very entertaining with a great cast, this is terrific TV.
(Excellent) - review by John
Another "why did they bother"? Why make a movie based on fact and leave out all the facts (or most of them)? This told you nothing about the man or the grisly crimes he committed. The flashback technique I found confusing at times. If you're not too fussy (and it does have Bruce Davison in it).
It's always a pleasure to see Veronica Cartwright in anything and she didn't disappoint. Daniel Craig was a disappointment and Nicole Kidman was her usual self. Why did they bother? A non-event. The original is still the best.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
This series is great stuff. I'm really looking forward to future episodes.
(Excellent) - review by John
Another one I really enjoyed. A terrific cast (particularly Craig in a curiously endearing performance).
(Excellent) - review by John
I'm really enjoying this series and look forward to future episodes.
(Excellent) - review by John
Starts okay then slows and then picks up and sort of goes awry. Fair.
Perks up a bit in the last half hour or so when the blood starts flowing, but there isn't any other part of the movie that isn't a bore. Give it a miss.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
I'm really enjoying this series and look forward to future season/s. Beautfully designed (and more evocative than a lot of blockbusters) with a terrific cast, check it out.
(Excellent) - review by John
At last, a truly frightening "monster" movie. A terrific surprise as I didn't know what to expect. See this one.
(Excellent) - review by John
Hitchcock at his best with more suggested than shown and some great set pieces. Walker is memorable in his part and what about his mum?! The recently discovered (apparently) UK version should have been on side B and I'm still waiting to see this one.
(Excellent) - review by John
In no way related to the description given, this is in fact two episodes of "The Virginian" TV series stuck together and it's not bad entertainment. As a Bronson fan, I enjoyed it.
(Worth watching) - review by John
I enjoyed the four movies, but by the time this one arrived gore seemed to be the main reason for the movie. This review is for the series.
(Worth watching) - review by John
I'm into vigilante movies and this one's not bad. A good cast.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Although amusing at times, it's pretty gross a lot of the time.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Lost me when Kostner and Hurt started conversing. I lasted about half an hour and was fairly bored.
Lots of action and that's about all.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Good entertainment but not as emotionally gripping as I felt it should have been.
(Worth watching) - review by John
I found this entertaining and totally engrossing.
(Worth watching) - review by John
I really enjoyed this one. Humour as only the Brits can do it. The running gag with pills is terrific.
(Excellent) - review by John
Very pleasing entertainment with some very good musical numbers. Performed well.
(Worth watching) - review by John
The bits I understand are fact, seem swallowed up by what appears to be mainly fiction for gore's sake. Some pretty crook acting. A horrifying true story trivialised.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
I thought the use of obvious stock footage was very good and the movie wasn't too bad. Not verygood monsters though and they appeared too soon.
I usually enjoy a Van Damme and I did this one.
As a fan of both Alien and Predatr I was a bit disappointed with this one. Great design and okay just about everything but the monsters which lacked the scariness of the originals.
Please read my first review for Forbidden Lies.

My first review of a few momments ago was actually for The Clearing. My mouse got out of control. I found this one fascinating. It makes me want to read "the" book.
(Excellent) - review by John
I enjoyed this one. A slightly different thriller with a terrific cast, all of whom perform extremely well.
(Excellent) - review by John
Although I've enjoyed some of the director's other films, I found this one very heavy going, in fact, at times almost unwatchable.
Another from my 'always wanted to see list' and it was worth the wait. Catherine Deneuve is terrific and the murder quite horrifying.
(Excellent) - review by John
From a quite entertaining play and with a pretty good (for the most part) cast , this should have been much better. The locale (changed) lent itself quite well to the action, but it's extremely ordinary.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Quite a moving drama, well performed by a good cast, particulary the always terrific Brian Cox.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Wonderfully produced and performed, particularly by the lead. I felt the violence done to Christ was a bit excessively bloody in its presentation. It really offered nothing new as most of us understand the crucifixion and resurrection and almost seemed a bit of an obsession on the director's part.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Pretty good entertainment.
(Worth watching) - review by John
I enjoyed this one very much, particularly The always fabulous Brenda Blethyn"s performance
(Worth watching) - review by John
For some reason, the beginning irritated me, but once it got going I was into it. The ending caught me by surprise, but what happens when ballistics get hold of the bullets?
(Worth watching) - review by John
Quite well made, but I couldn't see the point.
Excellent production values and a pretty good cast. I particularly liked Zane and Dalton. Entertaining.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Another one that could have been better. Not a bad monster but...
(Don't bother!) - review by John
This one had the potential to be much better. A bit more exposition in the earlier stages might have left this audience a bit less confused. I did like the monster, though.
Of the two, "Leeches" was probably better produced, but they're both pretty bad withh crook monsters in both.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
As in a lot of modern movies much of the dialogue is mumbled and this is irritating (accents in this one don't help). The locales and performances were't bad, but it could have been better.
Good cast and production values and some excellent action. Perhaps a bit too much action and not enough about Islam which may have added more interest. I enjoyed it.
(Worth watching) - review by John
As a closet admirer of "Sword and sandal" epics I enjoyed these, with Pompeii being the pick of the two. Exotic sets and costumes, American strong men, as usual, in the leads and some okay special effects, for fans of the genre.
Another one from my "always wanted to see" list and another one well worth the wait. Great stuff.
(Not to be missed!) - review by John
One I've always (it seems) wanted to see. After several decades I now have and it was worth the wait. Great cast in a great movie with a terrific twist ate end which I didn't cotton onto until it was upon me.
(Not to be missed!) - review by John
Very aptly titled. Excellent stuff with a terrific couple of leads.
(Excellent) - review by John
Darker in mood and less exciting than the first two. There's really no one to root for in this one.
Very stylish. I enjoyed this one very much. Recommended.
(Excellent) - review by John
Despite the tumult of the times it is set in, this is great fun with a terrific cast. Who would have thought we'd ever see Christopher Walken and John Travolta being Fred and Ginger? In the great closing number we even see a bit of Tina Turner creeping into Travolta's performance. Great fun. Feel good movie.
(Excellent) - review by John
Despite very unsavory elements I found this strangely compelling. Not for everyone.
(Worth watching) - review by John
More schlock than shock, this is also poorly directed.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
The Nights of Terror (the title which appears on the movie) is a bit misleading as there's nary a fright in sight. Don't bother.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
A Hollywood great with a terrific cast and performances, Broderick Crawford towering above all. Power definately corrupts but a great movie enlightens.
(Not to be missed!) - review by John
Despite the articipation of two of my favourites in Paul Newman and Daniel Craig and despite fine production values, I found this all a bit so what.
Not bad production values and pretty good atmosphere created. Fairly good of its type.
This one's certainly offbeat, strange, odd. Stunningly designed and splendidly performed by a terrific cast. Loved it!
(Excellent) - review by John
Reasonably entertaining, with a pretty good cast, I don't think this is as good as it could have been.
Okay. Some of the cockroach scenes were a bit illogical.
A bit offbeat, but I found it quite engrossing. Excellent performances.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Not what I expectedand I was very disappointed with what I got. Some interesting bits and a lot of pretentious waffle. Don't bother.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Pretty good special effects and nice performances from everybody including the spider make for an enjoyable 50s B sci-fi horror outing. Worth a look.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Possibly even better than Alien. Great stuff.
(Excellent) - review by John
Terrific. Almost a 50s B horror scii-fi with a 70s budget. Terrific cast and production and at times really quite scary. Can be watched time and again.
(Excellent) - review by John
The first scene aboard the plane gave me hope, but the movie, like the plane dropped with a thud. The snake wasn't bad but just about everything else was pretty crook (especially the hero's acting). Don't bother.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Perhaps I missed something deep and meaningful about this movie. What was it? A spoof? (not clever or funny enough). A thriller? (no thrills). A horror movie? (no scares). Don't waste your time.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Pretty good production values, but I did get a bit confused when the action moved underground. Pretty good special effects.
B grade B movie with a truly crook monster. Not a bad cast, but not a good movie.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Had I realized that this was a couple of episodes of a tv soap, I wouldn't have bothered. Performed by actors (?!) from wherever cloned actors come from with their designer bodies and hairdos, this is pretty crook stuff.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Despite a couple of the performers having accents so thick that I could barely understand their dialogue, it has a reasonable cast. The setting and story aren't bad and the monsters are pretty good. Reasonably entertaining.
An unusual story from an unusual book I read many years ago. Stunningly designed and beautifully produced, at times it was so evocative that I could almost feel (and smell) the locale. An excellent cast and Dustin Hoffman is a standout.
(Excellent) - review by John
Where are the horror movies that can really scare the pants off you? Not here!
Terrific movie. Fact and fiction beautifully meshed with a pervasiveness of evil ever present but not graphically shown. A fine cast act beautifully, but Forest Whitaker towers above all in a stunning performance as Amin. Great stuff.
(Not to be missed!) - review by John
Bruce Willis is usually good value and he's very good in this one. Initial irritation with voice of his offsider disappeared and I really enjoyed the movie. It has a nice twist, but the 'feel good' ending I feel, wasn't entirely appropriate.
(Worth watching) - review by John
One of the better supernatural thrillers I've seen. Terrific cast and effects with a nice twist at the end.
(Excellent) - review by John
Always enjoyable with an attractive cast which includes the wonderful Stockard Channing performing some of the best music and the legendary Eve Arden and Joan Blondell. Evocative and entertaining. Good music. Fun.
(Excellent) - review by John
Another one for fans of 1950s sci-fi/horror. Fondly remembered by kids of my age, this one has a poor put-upon monster that really doesn't mean any harm.
(Worth watching) - review by John
As enjoyable as the first two with a neat ending. Worth a look.
(Worth watching) - review by John
I don't mind a bit of gratuitous violence now and then but, gratuitous gore is another thing. Mind you, the mostly silly people in this one get no less than they should have expected. Give it a miss.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Third and final in the series tidies things up and although it lacks a bit of the punch of the first two, it's still great entertainment. The entire cast is virtually irresistable. Great entertainment.
(Excellent) - review by John
An impressive cast performs well in an impressive movie. Insightful and entertaining. Good one.
(Excellent) - review by John
I finally caught up with an episode I've been waiting years to see. It's the middle episode on this disc and guest stars the wondrous Glynis Johns.
(Excellent) - review by John
Stars off promisingly enough, then descends into ordinariness. Nothing new oe very exciting here.
Pretty good entertainment but don't bother with the sequel.
(Worth watching) - review by John
I thought the first instalment was pretty good entertainment, but then they brought in the Yanks. Panic , paranoia and gore set in. Don't bother.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Actually pretty crook. Beautiful Barbara Rush, cute June Havoc (Gypsy Rose Lee's sister, the baby June of the musical "Gypsy") and some bouncy music make it reasonably enjoyable.
Great stuff. Bogart is mesmerizing and the rest of the cast is terrific. A great film.
(Not to be missed!) - review by John
Great fun, great music. An affectionate (tribute?) take on old sci-fi movies with a great cast. Enjoy with friends.
(Worth watching) - review by John
A beautifully crafted film with fine performances from the lead actors. Quite engrossing but the explicit sex means it not for all tastes or viewers.
(Worth watching) - review by John
A bit of a strange one this. Not for everyone but with another great performance from Ingrid Thulin.
A beautifully designed film, lavishly produced and well directed. A good to excellent cast with the possible exception of the hero, who I felt was a bit lacklustre perform well. Beautifuil music. Enjoyed this one very much.
(Excellent) - review by John
Slightly offbeat and an interesting use of colour. A good cast.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Well, as a Bronson fan it's a foregone conclsion that I liked it. Interesting as an early starring role for him, although I didn't find the production particularly evocative.
I really enjoyed this one.
(Worth watching) - review by John
Terrific cast of actresses. Great fun.
(Excellent) - review by John
Overall, a bit of a downer. A good cast, but... Bleak is the word for this one.
Just as good as the first one and I look forward to the next. Check this one out.

Despite Willem Dafoe's presense it's pretty much rubbish. Neither art nor entertainment. Basically just crap. Give it a miss.
(Don't bother!) - review by John
Even the goodies are baddies in this one -and stupid at that. Pretty nasty at times. Willem Dafoe is , as usual, terrific. Not for all.
Fairly good of its type, with Victor Mature surprisingly effective. Of interest as the first CinemaScope film.
(Worth watching) - review by John
About what you would expect, but great fun. The cast is terrific and no doubt had the time of their lives making this one. The cop scenes and a cute cameo by Peter Fonda add to the fun. Enjoy.
(Excellent) - review by John
Very evocative production with some great performances and intriguing story. A great ending. I really enjoyed this one.
(Excellent) - review by John
Fairly engrossing but would probably work better on stage. Good cast, particularly Ann-Margret and, in an all too brief appearance, the incomperable Rita Moreno. Interesting.
