That was a great movie and funny. Whoopi is an ideal comedian. A nice one to end with, owing to finances I can no longer afford to keep up with the membership which is sad as I have thoroughly enjoyed our time with QF.

Loved it. A great family movie with emphasis on believing.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Brilliant movie, and not one to be missed. Excellent story and wonderful to read the end credits that state where these people went afterwards.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Not our cup of tea. Too much blood thirsty scenes that did not help the movie.
(Don't bother!) - review by Barbara
A Psychological western, but a great movie.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
The actors of Hepburn and Fonda make you believe it is a casual eavesdropping of us in to their lives. Brilliant relaxed and entertaining.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
A great Western, the man Conagher is courageous and he is honourable. Sam Elliot plays him well.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Perfect for family viewing and a timeless classic.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Great story and shows how people being so isolated have their way of life. Been some great stuff coming from other than the USA and a lot is really worth the watch, and this is no exception. Shot in the Cook Islands.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
I really liked the film and the celtic music seemed so in harmony with the film. Great family viewing.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
A bit of suspense like a Hitchcock movie.
Overall a good film for the family.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Loved it, and adored the ending, it is as it should be! What a ride.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Quite good movie. I am not into Rodeo movies but the fact there was more to it than just this, made it very interesting.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Strange movie with Blue (Terence Stamp) not saying much in the first half of the film. The story itself was okay, and the action at the end was good. Half hearted about this one, bit slow and did not pick up a heap of pace till the end.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
When I began looking at this movie, I thought Oh boy any slower and snail will speed by. Give it about 30 mins and the story begins to act upon you, and you become engrossed in it. There isn't a heap of talking in the film, like some that just wont shut up, so do not expect too much dialogue. But what a beautiful film, grab the tissue movie, but it is okay, good ending. This is not to be missed if you can force yourself past the first 30 mins.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Barbara
Outdated now with all the special effects available to movie makers, but there is one thing that is impossible to capture, and that is the on screen powerful presence of Tracy and Hepburn. When they are in a scene, there is no one who can compete with them.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
This is a little outdated now but it is still an excellent movie.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
The sequel was as good as the first. Best kept with the original cast as it makes a sequel more believable.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
I much rather prefer this version than the earlier one with Shirley Temple.
Great all round movie for the family.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Loved it, what an incredibly well trained dog.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
This is not the disaster movie I had thought given the title, but a disaster within a family.
It has good acting but not my type of film.
For me personally, it did not rate too highly amongst a film to watch.
(Maybe) - review by Barbara
I am a sucker for any dog movie (horse movies as well), this was a terrific family movie, and even my husband liked it and he is more the action and adventure type.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
I must admit when I placed this one in the queue, I was 2 minded about it, not that the deep south type movies ever appealed. Yet I was surprised at how good it was. So many underlying morals that weren't spoken about directly.
This is one worth hiring as the story is very good.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Terrific movie, they say to never work with kids and animals. The kids were classic, but Arnie shone through when he made them military style. Great movie for all the family.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Although this was a silent film and not one I would normally choose, I found it quite remarkable with the computer graphics considering it was made in 1925. I could imagine the audience of that time being struck with awe and perhaps terror as they watched this on the big screen.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Absolutely loved this movie. I am not really into the cartoons/animation, but this was a real gem.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Barbara
I like Vin in just about any movie. This may not compare with others he has done, but there is still enough action to keep the interest.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Sort of a B grade movie but interesting enough for those who are into weather events and how it can adversely affect the planet and ultimately our lives.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Quite funny, a little sad that Brendon Fraser did not do the sequel, but still enjoyable.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
An intense film and kept the interest throughout.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Finally arrived and enjoyed this one a lot.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
I saw this one many years ago, and it is a timeless movie.
That dog gets me, ugly and charming at the same time.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Geared more for the children, but I really enjoyed it and immersed myself wholly in the story.
Liked some of the effects, and although sort of scary it wasn't enough to make you leave the TV set.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
I enjoyed watching this again, even if they are out of sequence, it was still enjoyable.
Disney most certainly has the art of animation.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
I liked this one. The second sequel seemed to be better than the first, and this was equal to or better than number 2.
I particularly like this sort of film as the whole family can watch it, and there is nothing in it that is not desirable for children.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Now this one is an improvement on the middle 2 and is more in keeping with the first "Bring It On".
Better if I had jumped from 1 to 4 and skipped 2 and 3.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Now this is an extra rung up the ladder compared to the second (Bring it on again). Almost as if they fixed what went wrong in the second. Entertaining.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
I did not rate this one as good as the first, seems they tried too hard to make it work.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Great Western and with the high calibre of actors, who wouldn't enjoy it.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
The movie was a little slow paced but it did keep you guessing right till the end.
There is just enough action, who dunnit, and the introduction of extra people in the plot to keep you wondering why all this was going on.
Other than it being slow, the storyline was worth the rent.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Hubby enjoyed it and that is the main thing. He said it wasn't as bad as some he had seen but this one could have been better.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Well worth watching. I think this is much more preferred than Spiderman which didn't seem to take much imagination nor special effects.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Great movie for the younger set, or for those who just want to relax and watch without having to spend most of the time wondering why something happened or didn't.
A good relaxing family movie.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Simple straight forward storyline, and suitable for mad horse fans and girls of the 12-14 age group.
Overall, I have seen much worse but this did not take a science degree to follow the story.
The horse does steal the show though, so worth watching for that reason.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
This will never be a classic or epic etc but it does have a quality of "Feel Good" about it.
I personally enjoyed it and liked the "make your own dreams come true" because in the end it is really down to you.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
More the values of the 50's for sure so it is more likely to appeal to the older generation rather than the younger.
The acting and the story itself is great.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
This was brilliant and so funny.
I hope they do not consider a sequel as they did with Madagascar, and it paled in comparison to the first.
Great movie for all the family.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
I love this movie, funny, sad and a nice but sweet ending.
Safe for all the family.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
A good family movie that may teach some valuable lessons to the younger.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Definitely for the kids, but the whole family can enjoy it also. The storyline was good, and Davin Oatway as the young prince gave a very good performance.
Overall a lovely family movie that proves not all of these dragons need to be slain.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
A very good family movie.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Hubby liked this movie as he finds anything with Bruce Willis has enough action to keep him awake. As long as he happy, and he said he would rate it a 4.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
I think I prefer Christopher Lambert more in The Highlander series.
Yet this was not too bad and hubby enjoyed it.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
This is up there with "Lord of the Dance" and "Feet of Flames" and "Bootmen", excellent if you are into dance.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Most members have said it all, and I can only agree with all that has been written.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Rather a good movie and a safe all rounder for the whole fammily.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
More twists and turns in this movie. I enjoyed it and the views from the mountains were breathtaking.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
What a different Tom Cruise before he had face altering surgery to his Jaw and Nose. Here he is more believable than he is in the more recent movies.
I enjoyed this movie as this is a side of Tom Cruise that he desperately needs to get back in contact with.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Great movie and I would rate this much higher than the recently seen Pink Cadillac. This is classic Clint.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
The cast are very good, but they really needed to have shot the director as he let the movie ramble on, had it been a better director this would have been a masterpiece.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
This was not too bad, similar in some ways to Platoon at the end of the movie. The movie is a bit confusing at times as you have so many running around the jungle killing one another that you tend to lose track of who's who!
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
To truly appreciate this movie, it is best to own a dog, or at the very least love them. Good family movie.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
A rather obscure movie when I first selected it, yet it turned out to be a real little gem. Definitely work the hire.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Brilliant story with Shirley McLaine and Clint working well on screen.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Darn slow, hubby lost interest in the first 20 minutes. Give me Gran Torino anytime.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
This was good to see starting at the beginning. Hubby isn't into the Star Trek series but I couldn't get him away from the screen. Must be good if he enjoyed it.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Hubby enjoyed this one and wants it reordered again. He was surprised that Arnie made a fairly good straight man, at least it did have some action in it so kept it going quite well.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Well worth hiring, being a horse fan I was sold by the title alone. I would just have to put up with Casper Van Dien in it.
Well wasn't I surprised? Brilliant story and Casper was very good.
A great movie for all the family, but I am a sucker for good endings.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Although I am not a mad fan on sporting type movies, there are a few that hold my interest and this was one of them.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Not being an Adam Sandler fan, I am a little biased. So I can only say for me it was mediocre.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Absolutely brilliant.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Barbara
This is an old movie but the storyline still is strong. It has been a long time since I saw this one, and then it was only on TV.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Did something wrong and it didn't work. This was worth seeing, a bit rough for those with not so strong stomachs but the storyline was very good and worth seeing.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
This was very enjoyable, so funny with these 2 women attempting to outdo one another.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Having seen the first one some time ago, took some thinking to tie it in. But I found it good as I love disney movies.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Although I saw the 2nd before the first one, I found it quite enjoyable.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Not bad but it would be quite some time before I saw it again. Way over the top language which does distract from the storyline.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Actually this was quite good, and similar in some ways to Saving Private Ryan.
It is definitely worth the look.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Having received part II and not having seen part I, I am not able to compare whether it had improved in this sequel.
Yet for all that, I really did it enjoy this movie.
Makes a change to do an Indiana Jones style of movie and make it acceptable so that children could also view it.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Very similar in some ways to Storm Boy.
There was some very believable acting on behalf of the fishermen.
The lad (Greg Rowe) Snook, so much wants to prove himself to his Dad and his brothers that he is right for this work as a fisherman out at sea and can handle whatever happens on a fishing boat.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
This was hired for hubby who really enjoyed seeing the older cars, some crashes on wet and dry tracks.
Good for those who really like racing in any way it comes.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
A good movie, a bit slow to make a point, and just sooo long. Yet I did enjoy it.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
At times I found this as comparable as Snow Dogs and as funny.
I cracked up when I saw the dog sled team, and thought he has lost before he had started.
Overall a enjoyable and funny film.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
I found this as good as the other 3 and rounded it off as a final very well.
Pat Morita is as usual brilliant as an actor.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Brilliant, love these types of movies. Just finished watching it and it is sent back already.
I don't know about the kids loving it, but I most certainly did.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Great family movie and good to see it again.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Couldn't wait for this one and saw it at the Cinema in Bundaberg.
This is a movie you just do not want to miss.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Barbara
Great movie for the kids and young at heart oldies.
Quite funny and although it wouldn't win an Oscar it most certainly id great escapism.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
A lovely warm fuzzy movie. It is realistic and the movie paces really well.
This movie will give you smiles but not laughs, and shows the teenage girls as sensitive and strong, where many movies today tend to make teenagers look like fools.
Good all round movie for up to about 13 years old.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
I found this movie quite light hearted and one that could be enjoyed by the whole family.
If you do not expect too much, it is good enough to fill in the hours when the weather is unfavorable.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Quite a long movie, but one where we see the other side's point of view, reactions, and their goals. Albeit for the one head strong person's desire for that darn medal "Blue Max".
Yet the acting was strong, and film seems to have no plot holes which made it enjoyable.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
I was expecting something light hearted and probably more geared for children than adults. I am glad it wasn't at all like that.
Wonderful story of a man who comes back as a dog, more taken from the dogs point of view of knowing who he was as the man.
It was done with class, and not at all "silly" as some movies.
For the animal lovers and the tear jerkers, grab a tissue for the ending.
Well worth viewing from a woman's view.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Barbara
Quite an incredible movie, you really begin to feel for these 2 families. It gives an insight into the days when that horrid wall was still in place and the terrible heartache it caused the many.
Well worth watching.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
As outdated as it may seem today, I found this to be more an accurate account of the event in 480BC. As I have recently seen 300 at a friends, the movies are totally opposite. I thought 300 was to be along the lines of this movie but was sadly disappointed, I am glad I never bothered to hire it, and chose this one instead. This is a classic and well worth watching to get some actual facts.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Great movie and an all predictable end.
Yet for an oldie it was well acted and had a good storyline.
Actors like Kirk Douglas (Charlton Heston, Jimmy Stewart) etc, were all in a class of their own and had the talent, as there were very little in the way of Computer Graphics in those days. They could teach the younger actors more than a thing or two.
Great film well worth watching.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
There wasn't as much cattiness between them as I thought there would be, yet it was still a movie I thoroughly enjoyed.
Great drama that all the family can watch.
Has some laughs as well.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
How lovely, thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Tinkerbell begins to look at herself and questions who she really is.
The only hiccup I would have is some of the musical score which is pop type, much prefer the orchestra as it is in keeping with most Disney movies. But nevertheless I reckon this is one of the better ones of Disney's in a long time.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
The movie seemed to be a B grade type initially but it did improve as the movie progressed.
This is not a movie one would class as a "have to see", yet it was entertaining enough.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
I enjoyed this one better than the one with Dean Martin in it, kept thinking the fool was going to break out in song at any moment.
Charlton Heston was great and has quite a command of the screen.
George Kennedy kept the theme for me by being in every sequel. In fact, I found myself looking for him.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
It was good to see these set of Airport movies again. Although a bit outdated now, there is still enough action to keep your interest.
May be the only reminder that we did once have the fastest passenger plane on the planet.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Yep the elephant was the show. Great story for a family, and for those who like Bill Murray, and his antics, this will bring a smile. Bill Murray doesn't over do anything, just gives enough to make the laughs and makes this movie work. Forget the other actors, they are there only to fill in the blanks as none of them could carry anything worthwhile into the film.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Typical Claude Van Damme movie, and so much better than one of his recent ones which was so out of character for him (Black Eagle).
At least this one puts him back on the revenge trail.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
As disaster movies go, this is one of the better ones of time gone by.
At least the realism was there enough to keep the suspense true to form.
Worth a look with some well known actors to make the whole believable.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Old movie but quite funny. How the many can jump to conclusions when the truth isn't known.
Tracy and Hepburn are absolute classics together, and it makes the movie.
Well worth watching this timeless classic, takes you back to when computers first made their mark, and the days of Key to Tape and Punchcards. My how we have advanced since those monstrosities.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Wonderful family movie. It has been a long time since I saw this one on TV and it was nice to see it again.
Its a pity so many children today do not see these types of movies on TV.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Yep well, gotta be brain dead with this one. There are better types of movies, ie, Conan which at least has some good acting and good story.
Only one redeeming part, no come to think of it, there was none.
Poor all round in acting, story and that darn costume of Wooby looks like a drunken dressmaker made it!
Forget it and use it as a frisbee!
(Don't bother!) - review by Barbara
What a great movie. Being an animal movie it was my cup of tea.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Brilliant, my husband enjoyed this very much having come from this era.
Took him back to his youth once again.
Many thanks QF.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Barbara
Brilliant that I have not seen for years, glad it was on dvd to see it again.
Even if the movie is not to your liking, the race itself with the General is well worth watching.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
if you like the CGI of Final Fantasy I really recommend this one.
It has a really good plot which is better than some.
This type of animation was very good.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Now that was good entertainment. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Enough action to keep the interest, a good storyline, and enough mystical elements to keep you in your seat.
Brilliant movie.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Barbara
This is quite good if you do not begin with any preconceived ideas of how the dog became a cybermutt.
This is more for the up to 5 year group, but at least it wasn't a total waste of time.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
This is one of Van Dammes better movies as compared to "Black Eagle" which was a lot about nothing.
At least this one had a storyline. Not advisable for the young because of the violence.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Loved this movie, in fact all 3 of Aladdin.
Great for the kids and the not so young.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Oops forgot to write this yesterday, but this movie captures the quality and the atmosphere of the Arabian Nights, and it still remains one of the best and finest of fairy tales.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Don't bother putting on the series Channel 10, I have seen all of series 1 thanks to Quickflix!
I liked this series and many of the truckers in the show, but there is one who is a pain. His name is Hugh, or Huey as he is called, he owns 3 trucks that he gets others to drive, but woe be to them if they want to effect repairs, he gets up them. Yet mind you his truck is always in and repaired when needed.
I suppose in any series, there is always going to be one person who is a right royal pain in the.....! that you love to hate.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Well I am glad I got this and disk 3 coming sometime in the future, as we only had 5 episodes in Wide Bay area and that was it.
This was enjoyed as much as Disk 1, and I am looking forward to Season 2 which is being released in mid December.
Thanks Quickflix!
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Great "Reality TV" and leaves others for dead.
There is one of the 4 episodes (Disk 1) that we have not seen but then that's Win TV and relaying to Wide Bay for you.
Saw one episode and nothing for 5 months. Now it is back on as a repeat???? Beat that.
At least I will get to see the whole series this way.
Scary lifestyle these guys have no matter how good the money, but I guess someone has to do it.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Although this movie wont compete with todays Fx, it is real classic vintage stuff. Ray Harryhausen was a special effects wizard in his time, and today we use CG to get the same quality.
Acting and storyline not bad, but I enjoyed seeing it again after so many years because of the special effects.
Overall a good movie!
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
This is an intriguing movie, yet still very interesting.
This has a good plot, good acting, lovely music and photography.
Although it was made for TV, it earns the right to be a full blown movie.
You wont be disappointed as great entertainment, but it is almost 3 hours long.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Great movie, with real vikings. A few things do not apply today but overall a very good oldie.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
A real Masterpiece with perfection that only Disney could do.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Sort of follows from the first yet it just enough to keep the interest without becoming over melodramatic or sickly sweet.
Kids will love it.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
A lovely endearing movie. There is an age or a real vintage feel with the movie but it is worth viewing.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Ideal for a certain kid age group, but with Mum and Dad watching along with them, I think the parents would unplug ithe TV from the wall.
I have seen better in Homeward Bound 1 and 2.
Not one to rave about for anyone over about 10 years of age, maximum!
(Maybe) - review by Barbara
I think I preferred this to Babe. There is a Japanese version which has been said to be better, but this isn't too bad, at least it is a cute movie but overly sickly cute where adults just want to turn it off.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
A bit of blood and guts will keep most happy, but it isn't a big budget movie, yet it was viewable.
I just about climbed out of my seat (I'm squimish) wehn TAlon had to get down from the cross his was nailed to....wont say how or it will ruin it.
A sequel to it went into production in Jan 2008 and is titled "Tales of the Ancient Empire" may be worth a look too.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
A good all round family movie with some real giggles.
The elephant is a real darling with a lot of tricks to keep you amused.
Try hiding somthing of that size ina larger than normal suburban block?
Loved it.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
I am a van Damme fan but this movie is ridiculous with him in it.
He has a few moments of fighting, but most was flexing his muscles, and astride 2 items while throwing a knife. All apparently to show his agility.
What a disappointment compared to many of his other movies.
(Don't bother!) - review by Barbara
I enjoyed this movie a lot, much better than anything that is R rated, swearing by the max making the movie unbearable. This had sufficient action to keep the interest, and mildly scary for the very young.
One bonus, the sequels kept with the same star which many do not and they lose sight of the original storyline by going off on a tangent.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
I like this movie, quite gentle watching instead of the rough, tough, blood and guts type my hubby prefers.
Good all round family movie.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Loved this one, and as usual a great movie from Disney. I would recommend this for the young as well.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Great movie for the kids, but for the young at heart as well. From an oldie, it makes a refreshing change from all the blood and guts movies to watch something like this that is gentle and light.
Recommended for kids definitely and the not so young kids too.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
As disaster movies go, this one is of the middle range. I have seen better.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
If you are expecting a comedy from Whoopi, you will be disappointed. This is more of a serious movie about a woman with a young daughter attempting to make ends meet. There are some moments of sarcasim and witty comments, but overall a more serious movie.
Good story but not to indepth to hold your interest, you can get up and make coffee, etc and not miss too much.
Not a good venue for Whoopi as she seems to be better in comedy.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Seen elsewhere but found it to be very good.
If you are after a movie with good special fx, then this is not for you.
A company gives the rich a ride in time back 65 million years ago where they can realll hunt wild game. But something is killed and it begins to change the time line of the present day.
Todays monkeys become 20 foot giants and the lad after each time wave deteriorates where man is on the brink of extinction.
This is a brilliant storyline, if it was in the hands of George Lucas, this would have been as good as Star Wars,
At least this was not boring, once the ground work had been laid in the beginning.
Worth watching for the storyline alone.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Much rather prefer this one than the sequel. Better acted and better storyline. Perhaps it would have been better if the same cast was used in the sequel.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Incredible movie about the life and times of Archie Grey Owl (Brosnan). This is not a fast paced movie, but has solid acting and storyline.
A friend of mine had seen this and said Brosnan acting was stiff, yet I did not see this, but rather a very proud man, independant, sure of his place in his world and the life he chose.
The scenery is magnificient as Canada can be.
For this movie touching on conservation, it does so as an extension of Grey Owl, but the primary story is of him and his life.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Barbara
I'm not a petrol head, but hubby liked it for a change instead of a movie.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Reminds me of Turner and Hooch in some areas.
Loved it for a family viewing.
Some very funny moments.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Don't bother, what a heap of crock.
Youngsters driving out of control where they end up broken down in nowhere land, you can guess the rest.
Much prefer to watch paint dry and at least there is something more concrete to watch.
My rating........do we have a zero!
(Don't bother!) - review by Barbara
Seen at our dvd nights, and thought "Oh my!" but was pleasantly surprised. It is not a big budget type movie, but on the whole a good solid performance.
It is definitely worth a look if you do not compare it to CG of Harry Potter, Star Wars and the like.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Not as good as the first, but reasonably enjoyable.
Directors/Producers/Writers should not HAVE to make sequels based on the first movie being a success, the sequels most often fail to match the quality of the first.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
I loved this movie, I am a sucker for any dog movie whether good or bad.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Very funny movie, if you do not take it too seriously it is a great movie.
Hidden in all the not so politically correct name calling of Major Payne's lads, is to aim for your goal no matter how hard it is to obtain, and just don't quit.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Great movie, just the right person for the lead role, with Tom Sellecks slow drawl.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
You would definitely have to be into R.A.P (Rythmic American Poetry, put to dance) to enjoy this movie,
Not to say that the dancers were not good, far from it, their agility amazes me.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Quite a good movie about the start of a now well reknown wildlife photographer from youth.
Some very funny moments and got a good laugh, and for those who have more than 2 in a family, wasn't it always the youngest who was suckered in to do doing something.
Some things appeared silly, but then it does represent youth not being adult enough to becareful or wise.
Yet all round good movie, some scenes possibly not for the very young with the bears, it may frighten them, but overall good family film.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Seen at a girl's dvd night, and what a surprise.
This turned out to be a rather good movie that is based on a true story.
The Shoshone believe a white boy will change the course of the future for them and keep them safe. So a select few braves go and look for him.
After finding the boy, who was disgruntled with the farm life, he decides he would join them.
For the next 2 years he lived with them, and the Shoshone tribe were untouched by the many feuds surrounding them between other Indian tribes and the White man.
The Shoshone today still live in the same area peacefully, and so does the grand children of this boy.
Well worth watching, some subtitles to turn the Indian speech into English but over all not a movie to pass by.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Brilliant movie, slow paced but in keeping with taking time to drink in the panaromic views, and the time frame that the movie was depicting. Yet it did not give me the feeling of being bored.
David Carradine was credible and in a movie that I believe is one of his best.
Well worth watching.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
A very good and funny movie. Any woman that joined any of the Forces would be embarrassed by the way she does her bit for the country.
Hector Elizondo is perfect as the Seargeant with his wiity one liners as he did as the Hotel Manager in Pretty Woman.
Great all round funny family movie.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
I was a little disappointed with this movie, as I was expecting at least something similar to "Happy Feet". The reporter that followed the penguins around for interviews begun to wear very thin, it would have been better to have minimised that particular area as it disrupted the flow of the movie too much.
This movie would be probably be enjoyed by young children, but not one for the whole family as a group that could sit through without becoming quite annoyed with the paparazzi.
There are better movies than this.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Great family movie, not a classic but good all the same. Beats the blood and guts movies available now.
Safe family movie although more directed to the kids.
Filming locations for this movie were.....
1. Bowen, Queensland, Australia
2. Hinchinbrook Island, Queensland, Australia
3. Port Douglas, Queensland, Australia
4. Warner Roadshow Studios, Oxenford, Queensland, Australia (studio)
and finallty, the sea lions used in the film are named Spud and Friday, and they live at Sea World (Australia); they shared the role of Selkie.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Great for kids and not so bad for us oldies either.
Loved this classic, which only Disney seems to be able to accomplish.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Not quite what I remember myself, as a member has said, the Cook and Duchesses baby are missing.
Would prefer a movie close to the original book, but okay enough.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Great movie and suits the whole family., even us oldies who now have great grandchildren.
Guaranteed to keep the kids interested.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Loved it, and the return of the old actors.
As time went on and in the latter Seasons, it sort of went downhill when Richard Dean Anderson left and only made cameo type appearances. Ben Browder doesn't hold a candle to Richard Dean Anderson in my opinion.
But any SG1 fan will love this movie, and even those who do not.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Wonderful movie, and definitely not geared for the children. Adults will love it too as it is not over done in any part of the film.
The 2 girls were brilliant in their acting.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
What a lovely way to spend over an hour looking at the beautiful ice land.
Maybe not as good as the March of the Penguins, but it holds it own admirably.
A one of view for adults, but the kids would love to see it more frequently.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
If comparing the cartoon version of Disney's Sleeping Beauty vs this one, take the cartoon one.
The movie is watchable but so disappointing, as the 2 elves seem to ruin what movie flow there was.
There are better movies, give this one a miss.
(Don't bother!) - review by Barbara
If you saw the first Benji then it will help in knowing the characters.
I particular like this one as there are some wonderful scenery from Greece.
Benji is just a great actor, and has laughable moments.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
I loved the movie but then I do like animal movies, so I am biased.
One thing going for the movie, is the dog is a better actor than the humans. Who could not love that face of an adorable mutt!
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Great Movie, and good clean family fun.
Reminds me a little of "Strictly Ballroom" with a catty girl in that too.
Good viewing for the whole family, and some very good dancing.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Loved this movie, old one but a classic. Great all round general family movie.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Not quite as good as I had hoped. Liked others better, "Take the Lead", "Save the Last Dance", and even "Bootmen".
But better than some blood and gut movies that seem to want to shock you, rather than entertain or scare the living daylights out of you.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
What a fascinating movie, what started out as a kid type movie, turned into quite a poignant ending.
With all our advancements in the world of technology, what have we truly lost to gain that advancement? This film reveals and centres around that which we have lost.
Incredible movie, and quite powerful, if you miss the punch line at the end so to speak, then rewind it to hear it again as it makes this movie what it is.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Barbara
This one was much improved on ST2 but not quite as good as ST1.
It has an ending that appears to leave room for a possible part 4.
Hopefully if the film makers decide on a number 4, they will make it a much more bigger budgeted film because that is all that it lacks.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Still a good movie although now more advanced.
Not bad special effects for 1958, and no doubt had many ducking under the seat when the monsters came on the screen.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
You either like him or not, and I was 50-50 in a decision. Yet this movie revealed that to make a comedy, you do not have to act like an idiot.
A good comedy with a wonderful ending.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Having now seen the last of the 3 Shiloh series, I truly believe they got better with each sequel.
These are not entirely for kids, parents can watch them with equal interest.
Good storyline about love, not only in regards to a dog, but to a fellow human being who shows there is nothing to love about him, you have to look deep, real deep!
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
The last movie that Walt Disney was involved in.
Although no CG, it stands the test of time.
Great story and good for the family.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
A story of a boy growing to manhood, and the losses suffered in those years.
Quite a good drama and worth viewing.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Movie seen at a friends.
Great fantasy movie for the family.
Creatures abound of evil and good.
Mystical movie like Spiderwick Chronicles yet more action in the fight sequences. Some funny oments as well to keep it from becoming something akin to a horror movie.
Worth watching.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Brilliant movie, a good film for the family, but could be a bit tense for the very young.
In the vein of Dark Crystal, Harry Potter, and similar fantasy types.
Has some funny moments too to lighten it a little.
Well worth the hire.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Didn't mind this one as disaster movies go, it was worth watching. There was sufficient enough action, plot and drama to keep me and even hubby interested who bores very easily usually within the first 10 minutes.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Wasn't too bad, although the movie had a few loopholes left unplugged.
With nothing else on TV, then it would fill in time, but don't go out of your way as a definite movie to see.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Good animation, great for the family on a cold evening.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
All round generally good.
Not a movie to get your hopes up, but nice all the same.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Loved it, and the ending wasn't what I was expecting at all.
Great family entertainment.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Barbara
Even for us oldies, it is nice to be a kid again.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Brilliant movie. It makes you really feel for those guys in those planes that crammed 10 in such close quarters.
Great story and shows what happened in those air fights.
I highly recommend it to anyone who likes war movies.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Barbara
Turned out better than I thought. A little outdated but still a good all round movie.
Special effects are not as good as today, but a brilliant cast made up for it.
Well recommended anda better storyline than "The Killer Bee Nightmare".
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Strange yet powerful movie. Strange in the fact that there weren't "lead" roles so to speak, there seemed more than one.
Powerful in such that it makes you think we had better be right before condemning others.
The movie is short compared to some, about 75 mins in all, but it packed a punch in that short time.
This isn't a movie for everyone, stay with it if you are a Fonda fan. He is brilliant in this, as he is with most movies he is in.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Great QF managed to get this. It has been some time since I saw this, I loved it then and I still do.
Great all round family movie.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Very good movie but to me it did not quite have the magic of the first.
Yet the 3rd one made up for it.
Still, it's a good movie for the kids and family.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
What a wonderful old movie. A lot of stiff upper lip attitude and kids ruled with iron fist. Yet although politically incorrect by todays standards, it is a wonderful movie.
If you ever get the chance, watch Cheaper by the Dozen starring Henry Fonda and Lucille Ball, it is an oldie but a great comedy.
Master pieces like these movies are no longer made anymore.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Strange movie slash documentary, yet quite enthralling.
Places you in the shoes of some of these youngsters who went to fight a war in the same country against itself.
It is black and white, yet does not detract from the storyline nor the power of it.
It is definitely worth watching.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Brilliant.
If you can cope with the Irish lilt you won't be sorry to hire this one.
A beautiful Irish myth that kept this house glued to the screen, so much so that lunch was delayed and no one wanted to even make a drink.
Fabulous photography and an age of innocence.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Barbara
I had forgotten how funny this was. Been years since I had seen this one.
Who hasn't wished revenge on some of the bosses we have worked for.
Worth watching even though a bit old in the tooth now.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
I liked this movie a lot.
It is similar to River's End, with a brat of a kid in it.
But as luck would have it, she does begins to change the attitude.
She finds she can understand and speak to dolphins which ultimately comes to the aid of her father in the end.
Worthwhile movie, and one that could be viewed a few times.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Been a long time since I saw this one, and it was very enjoyable.
There is a weak story line about boy meets girl, boy can't have girl, and in the end gets the girl or does he?
Unfortunately for Michael Beck, he did not make an impact in this movie although you see he had talent but the director did not pull it out.
A not too serious movie to watch when there is nothing else.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Movie was a little slow and never built up to any speed, yet as a story itself, it was truly great.
My husband is usually quite bored with slow paced movies, but he found this one intriguing enough to hold his attention.
It is a great movie and very inspirational, and shows age is no barrier if you want something bad enough.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Beautiful family movie for all ages.
A timeless classic and definitely one of Disney's finest.
For the age, the Computer Graphics are wonderful, I especially liked Dick Van Dyke dancing as a penguin.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Animation has really improved over theyears, but Disney never fails to interest children and adults alike.
I like to revisit the time when I was younger and see the many Disney movies available, plus a whole new lot made when I was older.
Keeps the child in you alive.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
It has been some years since I saw this movie, and I had forgotten how funny it was. James Cagney plays a great "mean" role.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Great family movie.
Most here have said all that I wanted to say.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
What a brilliant movie. Directors/Producers should make a lot more like this.
Beautiful scenery with the waterhorse seemingly as part of the scene, where some movies have the animation (computer graphics) plopped on top of the scene so it does not look real.
This was very well done, and it is one I would love to see again in the future.
The kid in me still hopes there is a Nessie the Lochness out there somewhere that is so intelligent not to be seen and a lot smarter knowing what humans are like, not to allow himself or herself to be caught.
I recommend this movie to any family and even the teenagers will like this one.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Barbara
This was quite a good movie than I had expected. Good story and some funny moments.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Quite an intense movie for its time, and even black and white it tends to lend a tenseness to the era as well.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
I enjoyed this movie immensely being in the older age group where Audie Murphy was one of my favourite actors until his untimely death.
A movie without all the gory details when someone is shot, makes a welcomed change as I believe today they are too graphic.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
I first saw this movie almost 20 years ago, and it is as good now as then. It seems timeless.
Yes, by today's standards the Special Fx are by nowhere near as good, but then the quality of the actors needed to be a lot better than those of today, who tend to rely on those Fx to make them look good.
The storyline is possible, as they say many have been lost in the Bermuda triangle, so what if that is replaced by a strange storm.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
A truly great family movie. Good story, good acting and some very funny moments.
The girls are normal rampant teens and what they don't get into. Yet conniving to match make their mum (Mary Beth a marine biologist) with Terry the father of a son who is more of the adult than his dad.
Very funny, the dog is a classic.
Similar to Namu the killer whale, touching closely to Free Willy movies.
Not to be missed, a great flick!
(Not to be missed!) - review by Barbara
Brilliant movie, a little dark in places but the duration is not long.
Suspenseful and keeps you holding your breath along with the crew.
A not to be missed war movie.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
My girlfriend has this movie and it is one not to be missed.
It has a serious side, but a good laugh in many instances.
Kevin Bacon is so out of it as the city dweller heading to the remote parts of Africa to enlist one extremely tall Masai to the basketball team. It is quite funny and the storyline is also good.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
If you like the first, do not expect too much out of the sequel. Not as good as the first which seemed to have more impact.
But if you have seen the first, you may as well view the second to make your own judgement.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
As much as I like this movie, I think I would rather choose "To Wong Fu, Thanks for Everything Julie Newmar" as the better of the two.
Dustin Hoffman played his role well, and scrubbed up well as the woman.
Great movie for a good laugh.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
This is a definite continuation from "Ms Bear" so watch that one first to tie it in better.
It covered the felling of forests by a company but it gave the storyline. Without the forest there is no bears or many other animals either.
We enjoyed the movie very much, a great family movie. More directed to the older children than tiny tots.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Beautiful family movie that would suit the children and many adults as well.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Brilliant and timeless.
Well made movie that keeps you guessing of who the gunslinger (Audie) is after.
Quite a surprise when the who is discovered.
Great acting, no special Fx involved, just good old fashioned acting when actors were truly actors, compared to todays actors who need all the effects to make them credible.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Barbara
A great family movie, well worth renting.
Has the usual bad guys and good guys.
The biscuit making episode was funny, then the dress up of the bear.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Barbara
A great family movie.
What a magnificent place to live, alone with beautiful scenery and wild horses. It would do me as a home base!
Well worth viewing.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Good old fashion movies like this go to prove that you do not need drugs, sex, violence etc to make a movie.
A lot better and more thrilling to assume what the next event is without it blantantly being thrown in your face.
Brilliant acting from Audie and he moved from a national hero to movies with an easy flow compared to some.
This is definitely my type of film, been years since I have seen this one, and have added more of his on my list.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
I enjoyed this one and I have left kidhood a loooong time ago.
I much prefer this human type fantasy than the ones I have seen with animation.
The actors all played their roles very well and with some great Fx included.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Very similar to Twister starring Helen Hunt.
It appears to be a "B" grade movie, but the storyline and acting is well above a B grade.
It was worth hiring, and there are some funny moments with the female reporter who tags along for the story of the impending tornado.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Brilliant movie. Mainly for the family, but entertains both young teenagers and adults. Made well not to be above kids, but does not talk down to adults.
It was surprisingly well made, good storyline about a kid with an overly large chip on his shoulder (more like a plank), and the over whelming feeling that you would like to take him into the next room and snot him!
The movie showed him turning to a man as the story progresses, but without ridiculous jumps from devil to instant angel.
The scenery is magnificent as the lad travels down the river in the canoe.
Definitely well worth hiring this one.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Barbara
Great family movie and so funny.
If Tim Allen ages like that, complete with white hair, he will look great.
He made a wonderful and ideal Santa.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Hauntingly beautiful music that makes the movie.
Not fast paced but then life back at the turn of the century was much slower than today.
A timeless story that will be around for some time.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Not as powerful as Jumunji, but nevertheless very entertaining.
Loved the ending, watch for the split second return of something on the front lawn, a nice added touch!
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Along the lines of Iron Eagle so I enjoyed it very much.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Not sure on Owen Wilson, he is a person you can either like or dislike.
Jackie Chan seems to not change.
Good action and good comedy.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
I prefer this version to Richatd Roundtree playing he role of Shaft.
Sanuel L Jackson seems to have what it takes to carry it.
Other shaft movies have had Shaft the man being a womaniser, this one shows it more subtly and is a much better storyline.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
I enjoyed this but watch this one before Category 7 as it at least ties in with Tornado Tommy.
I would watch this one again.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Great movie that was not too highbrow for the younger family members, and did not talk down to the adults.
Excellent story and some very beautiful Canadian scenery that is worth seeing.
It is one I would watch again.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
If this was originally shown on television, then I missed it!
A very good movie, and far better than I expected.
Equal to or as good as Category 7.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
A different twist on the 1947 version, but the essence is still retained.
The young girl appears much older than her years and gives moments of laughter with some of her comments.
A good all round family movie.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Classic Johnny W, there has never been a better Tarzan in my opinion.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Not as good as 1,2, or even 3....They (directors/producers) seem to have lost the plot somewhere and ad libbed the scenes rather than as an actor would ad lib their lines. It is a bit of a jumbled mess, although it does tend to come together long enough to get idea of what is going on.
Watch only if you want to view the whole 4 of the series otherwise give it a miss.
(Maybe) - review by Barbara
Saw this on TV some time ago, but a whole lot better than it being interruupted by adverts.
The storyline is not so far fetched and is all quite feasible.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Enough action to keep you interested, and some funny parts as well.
A usual Van Damme style movie, where men like to blow sh**! up.
At least it has a storyline that can be followed easily.
Pat Morita (Karate Kid's Mr Miyagi) played an excellent role as the unusual soon to be undertaker?
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Definitely different from his other movies. This is more of a series of sketches within a movie.
If you like Jerry Lewis this is worth watching.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Not one to miss. Excellent performances from all actors. Quite an emotional ending.
Very thought provoking at the end....how many other soldiers was this done to and hidden the families/public in a web of lies.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
This one is NOT for young children. Girlfriend bought it for her children and there is a bug singing in the movie, and there is word said that is foul language.
Stay well away from it or your child will also sing the song as the bug did, but not know what he/she is saying.
A real disappointment.
(Don't bother!) - review by Barbara
brilliant as we have come to expect from Bruce Willis.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Barbara
I do like sequels that carry on from the original, and this one does just that.
Mushu is still a pain and causes more havoc than is intended.
Worth watching.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Quite a good movie, even if from the older types.
Great to see a very young Jack Lemmon in this film.
Worth watching.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
great. It does carry on from the original so that in itself is a plus.
Its worth viewing.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Brilliant movie similar to Premonition but not so confusing of where you are in the movie.
Well worth watching, interesting and not too overdone with the 2 minutes ahead.
A well balanced movie all round that will keep your interest.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Movie was a little dark as with most action types. Makes it very hard to view.
Not one I would bother with again.

Truly a wonderful family movie and one I would watch again.
The dog is incredible and what a mutt!
Love to know the breed.

I like these type of movies, but nothing beats Sam Neill in Merlin.
This was a good movie overall but not compelling enough to watch again at a later date.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
The initial 10 mins approx, I thought it was going to be as bad as "Bingo". But once that section had passed, it had the base of a very good story.
Definitely a family movie that all will enjoy.
I would watch this one again.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Most members have said all that can be said, I am waiting in anticipation for the next installment. Definitely one I would watch again.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Barbara
I saw this one some years ago and although outmoded, the story line is just as compelling as the day it was first made.
Still leaves me the thought, did they really do this? We will probably never know!
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
This was a very good movie, as good as Inspectors 2. It is not imperitive to watch 1 before 2 as they do not continue, although have the same people.
Enlightens you as to what the postal service does in the fraud area.
It is definitely worth viewing, and one I would watch again.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
great stuff, and typical Cooper movie. Quite a tangled story, and you will feel sorry yet frustrated with Cooper.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
This is quite good and far better than expected. If you like King Arthur, Excalibur and anything with the era of Roman times, then this will suit you.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Unfortunate to get part 2 before number 1, but nevertheless I found this movie to be very good. Not that action packed, but enough to keep the interest alive.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
If you like "Homeward Bound" 1 and 2; then this is not for you. I am not even sure the children would like it as it is a bit highbrow for them, and verging on the ridiculous for the adult.
It uses poetic license where the dog does most of the action that humans would do? Speaking of humans, most of the human actors would have better off keeping their mouth shut. The movie became a total farce.
This movie will not be to everyones taste, you will either love it or hate it, as for me and my house, we struggled to view the whole movie in hopes it would improve, but it didn't and we hated it.
(Maybe) - review by Barbara
This took a little to get into, better if viewed undisturbed by phones and doorbells.
Once you have some direction, this was a very good film.
I think the writeup on the cover was a little over the top about it supposedly changing your life or your view of it, but nevertheless it was worth watching.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
This was a good movie, ran rings around Rescue Dawn with its eyes shut!
Worth watching and quite intense.
It could be this has already been invented, what a worry that would be?
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
ZZzzzzzz boring. Whether a true story or not, it could have had more spice added to it.
I was expecting something similar to BAT21 or at the very least more action like Tears of the Sun, by the write up on the cover, but this was a great disappointment.
Only watch if you are desperate, there are far better films than this one.
(Don't bother!) - review by Barbara
What a wonderful movie, both Hugh and Drew make a very real couple.
Music of the 80's was great, at least unlike today's I do not even know what they are saying, (perhaps its better if I don't).
A good film for the family and one I would watch again.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
This one was better than his last called Renegade Justice, as that was too dark in too many places. At least this could be seen.
I think the days of Nico Above the Law type movies from Steven Segal are over.
You would have to be a die hard fan of him to watch his latest offerings.
(Maybe) - review by Barbara
Initial thoughts on the plot itself, were way off the mark.
Good suspense to keep you guessing till the end. When you think it is all cut and dried, it twists to go off in a tangent.
Excellent movie well worth watching.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
I really enjoyed this movie, and it brought back fond memories of my years of Ballet. At least I knew what they were talking about at the exercise bar.
If you like dancing, it is a good general movie for most of the older members of the family, doubtful to hold the interest of the younger family members.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Timeless movie that is as applicable today as it was back then.
Nice family values instead of the Simpsons type of family values.
Good old classic.

Good continuation, keeps you interested.
Strange but sad ending.

Beautiful feel good family movie.
Richard Gere seems to carry this part so well, just as he did in Pretty woman.
Would recommend to anyone.

An old classic war movie.
One for hubby who thoroughly enjoyed it.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
It is a hard movie and not for everyone.
It follows the life of one person who seems very good at making mistakes.
At the end he realizes he has to be thankful for what he has.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Hang onto your seats with this one, and forget going to get a drink, to do so will have you wondering what happened.
Only when half way through do you realise how the story is being told.
It is a hard movie to follow, because it is twisted between the realms of reality, premonition, and the things that can be changed by how much control you are willing to either hand over, or, to accept the responsibility and take control yourself.
It is quite challenging to watch, and it is one I would watch again, but because it scrambled my brains in trying to follow it, it would be the other side of 12 months before I do.
It is worth watching, and sends a clear message, what we do today can and will affect our future, but by the same token, too much control will not always give us our perfect or desired ending.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Brilliant comedian which nowadays the world severely lacks, as they strive for the "R" rated to get the laughs.
I much prefer this version to Eddie Murphy's as there is a touch of innocence associated with it, and genuine "you have to be good" to get people to laugh.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Barbara
I bought these 2 some time ago, and as I watched this when I was young, it was a major disappointment.
The theme tune for Bonanza is a heap of crock.
The actual actors and stories at least were original and authentic.
(Don't bother!) - review by Barbara
Slightly different to the first but just as good.
Spoilt brat vs Easy come guy. Friction and tension abounds.
I would definitely see this one again.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Hubby's movie which he enjoyed immensely, seeing the other two does help.
He would watch it again, so I guess I will be doing cooking etc while he does.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Too much verbal use of the M.F...ers words in this which did distracted from the viewing concentration.
Good storyline otherwise, considering his miserable failure of "Into the Sun" where the Japanese subtitles took precedence over the movie.
A little too dark in many scenes, which made it annoying.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
(seen at friend's place).
I loved this movie, but then I am a sucker for the Indian/spiritual types.
I found it engrossing and well made.
There is comedy as well which kept it light hearted.
Great family movie.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
A little more blood and guts than the first, bit too much for me, but hubby liked it.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
There is truly something magical about this version that no other remake can compete.
Words can not describe the essence of the film, it is something that the film makers captured in the actors chosen, or the story, who knows? but they got it right.
It is one not to be missed, no matter what other versions you have seen.

Hubby's movie, but he gave it the thumbs up.
A little dark in places made it a little hard to view, but the story itself was very good.
Not really recommended for children, a little too much violence for them.

A lovely movie where you feel for the bear. In some ways sad yet not.
What a wonderful interaction between a man and a wild bear.
Beautiful story and great for the whole family.

I saw this one years ago under the original title of the Silent Flute. It is a bit outdated now, but the storyline is good. David Carradine is a versatile actor playing many roles throughout the film.
The ending makes one stop and think, what price are material possessions?
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Quite strange to see Vin doing a comedy after xXx, but he is very good and believeable, showing him to be a very versatile actor.
The story is brilliant, and its a good laugh through most of the film.
Not to be missed that is for sure.
Carrying the baby bottles like this would help my friend with her tribe! haha.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Not quite what I had expected, but good all the same. At least it is something everyone can watch.
Sad ending though, when the write ups roll on.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Classic Jerry Lewis comedy that doesn't age.
One error and bungle roll into one another, with a couple of moments are seeing the real heart of Jerry.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Quite a good movie as I love animal movies of any type. The only ting that was quite frustrating, was the fact that mother, son, sons friend a girl, would not stay put when told. Someone was always doing a disaapearing act where others would have to get them out the situation.
Good story other than that.

For clean family entertainment, this is ideal.
Great animation and special effects, and the fact you do not see Mee Shee for awhile makes it more appealing.
Ideal family entertainment and really worth hiring.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Barbara
I loved it, and yes a little slow but quite powerful in its own way. Funny in some areas as well.
Nice safe, family movie with an ending that will have reaching for the tissues.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
You truly have to feel for this bumbling drongo.
But there are sweet tender moments that make the film and shows the errand boy as a gentle pure soul.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
I enjoyed the story immensely.
Tremendous ending that wasn't quite expected.
Funny in some places as well as being a serious movie.
Beautiful scenery and good graphics.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Traditional Jerry Lewis with a lot of sight gags.
Personally I have always found him to be better alone than with Dean Martin who seemed to restrain him.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Being a chuck Norris fan, I loved the movie.
It will not be a movie for everyone as it is a bit outdated now.
Overall, worth watching.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Brilliant movie, if you love horses, this is for you.
Never a dull moment, keeps you glued to the screen.
The film: a journey by man and his horse over 3,000 mile race, pitting the best of the Arab bloodstock against each other. Enters a wild mustang who does not in the eyes of the Arabshave an equal with their well and specifically bred Arab horses.
Loyalty, treason, double crossing, all fit nicely into the plot as all want to be the winner of the $100,000 purse prise.
The depths that man will go to, to achieve first prize.
Scenery: the race begins in Arabia and crosses Jordon and enters into Syria where by the ocean the race ends.
Man and horse cross sand dunes, and what appears to be similar to salt pans, the heat of the day exceeds what man and beast can handle, and many fall by the wayside.
Breath taking movie and one not to be missed for any reason, whether you love horses or not.
HINT: Watch the mustang as he does this race, then work out how much further this animal was asked to travel compared to the Arab horses that only did the race, then judge who really was the best.

Very good storyline, will have you barracking for the good guys.
Gary Busey plays a bad guy in a way that only he can do.
Magnificient views as a lot of the movie is from those who wish to leave a perfectly good plane to parachute to earth.
Well worth the watch, action is kept coming so you don't become bored.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
I believe this movie is a good avenue for Damon Wayans and he seems to carry this humour very well.
Not politically correct for today as to what names he calls his charges, but nevertheless a very funny film.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
This is worth seeing, enough action and tension to hold you from leaving the screen. Patrick Swayze plays his part very well as the cop.
My only complaint, would be the fact the final fight scene was not long enough, as the story is based on retaliation.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Brilliant movie and extremely well made. Giant of a cast to make this movie work, even if the plot was not good, which it isn't.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Barbara
Good intense movie. Cat and mouse game all through.
I would watch it again without a doubt.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
This was better than I expected. Overall quite a good movie.
It makes you realise what these poor guys and gals go through when choosing this profession.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Turned out to be a rather good movie. It has action, tension, and a twist or two.
A mixture of a movie..has a little S.W.A.T., a mad scientist, a genius, and a loose canon.
Worth renting and worth viewing.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
It seems Free Willy was a spin off from this one. But for its time, it is a good movie.
Because of its age, do not expect the type of class associated with Free Willy, but it is still worth watching.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Not your usual movie from Gene Hackman, but good all the same. Do not expect another Bat21 type film, this is in a class all of its own.
Good for war movie buffs and really worth watching.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
A B-movie at best. A good storyline and some action, but not as good as the write up suggests.
Only view it if you really want, there are better ones than this.
(Maybe) - review by Barbara
Seen with a friend...don't bother as it is absolute rubbish.
Not at all like the previous 4 and it looks like the storyline had been written by the writers while on a booze binge weekend.
It sucks big time!
(Don't bother!) - review by Barbara
I am not a Ted Danson fan, as I found him to be rather an idiot when he starred in "Cheers".
Yet, his talents are latent, or the right script has not been offered to him in the past.
He was brilliant in this movie, believeable and he has the audience held in suspense as you feel his frustration, tension and suspense.
Quite a good thriller, and I would recommend it.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
With modern movies, this one seemed to be a bit slow in places, but the storyline is great.
Excellent powerful actors playing the main roles, of Deborah Kerr and Robert Mitchum.
A good choice they filled the screen with their presence, like Bogie and Hepburn.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Well made movie and done with class.
It could have been so easy to have made this movie sleezy when 2 people had quite an age range between them.
Expertly done, using a growing friendship and caring for one another, and then to have it blossom into adult love.
Not one to be missed.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Barbara
Absolutely brilliant!
Words fail to cover all the aspects this film has to offer.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Barbara
It is mentioned this is not as good as "The Guns of Navarone" but it is in my opinion, equal to it.
Great cast, good action.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Saw this movie years ago, and it has lost none of its quality.
A brilliant movie in its day, and still representative of today's issues on nuclear.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
The storyline was great, action and not all too predictable.
Shame for one thing though, they should have spent the extra to get a better camera man. The jerky movements to represent the moments of tension, was a little too much.
Other than that, quite an overall good movie.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
I like his simple approach, knowing someone is guilty and he becomes Judge, Jury and Executioner. Save taxpayers money in court cases.
These types of roles are brilliant for Clint's style, he fills the screen with his character.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
As soon as I knew disc 3 was coming I rented 1 and 2 to keep it in perspective.
Now I can follow it. Quite a formidable man this Shaka.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
A touch of the "Babe" movie but not one to be chosen as high on anyone's list. Too predictable.

A good family movie, I do not know how the original movie ended, but I do like this ending immensely.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Be prepared for something different to the original, but on its own merit, it is still very good.

Brilliantly acted and at times very intense. Waited a long time to see this one and it was worth the wait.

A very well made movie for its time, good story and action. Definitely worth a look.

Beautiful movie and well acted.
Even though it's not heavy on sentimentality with the son, it still pulls the heart strings.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Absolutely brilliant. Well acted and a good storyline to boot.
It is worth watching.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Barbara
Intense movie, gripping and enthralling to the last.

Brilliant movie for its age. A little limp but progress makes for better backgrounds etc. Overall, well worth watching.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
I enjoyed this movie, but Steve Martin does go a bit far to seemingly force a laugh, when he is so funny in his own right. Good story though and worth the watch.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
If ever a movie makes the statement of "don't give up" this has got to be the one.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Barbara
More hubby's movie than mine, but he enjoyed it immensely. Geena Davis also plays an even better role in "The Long Kiss Goodnight" and that is worth watchng.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
It is a good laugh and worth watching. Nice ending and makes the silliest head somewhere.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
To appreciate this one you would have to like heavy metal music. It's not bad as something to watch when television offers nothing, but don't go out of way to see it.
(Maybe) - review by Barbara
I really enjoyed it. It is more from the bear's side than man's. Scenery was fantastic and that alone was worth it.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Whoopie was great in this, only she has a subtle and not so subtle way of being funny.
Worth watching.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Loved it and ideal for the family. Liked the first one, and looking forward to part 3.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Good and funny. Pulls the heart strings at the end, but well worth the watch. Bill Pullman is great.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Having seen "My friend Flicka" some years ago, this was a great sequel. Old movie but they made them believeable and genuine back then.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Like the storyline and what predicaments can ensure when one starts a small lie. At the end, only when speaking the truth does one become believable. I'd prefer this one than Chuck and Larry as this was OUR movie/story before the US got it.
(Excellent) - review by Barbara
Ideal family movie and for those who love roller blading.
Exciting finish to the movie and with a few laughs.

Although not one of the better ones of Seagal, it is far better than "Into the Sun" which was mostly in Japanese subtitles.

As good as the first.

If you like Lethal Weapon then this is good.
Not a good role played by Willis, but then he gave it his all and it came across well. Any other actor would not have done as well. Fast paced movie.
(Worth watching) - review by Barbara
Safe film for the kids. A really nice pleasant movie with a good story line.

Great movie. Although it seems "stiff upper lipped" it was the way the Naval Officers addressed one another back in those days.
Ranks with Midway.

Surpasses Priscilla queen of the desert and Tootsie.
Good story and a feel good movie.

Not one of Charlton's best, rather a boring movie, don't waste your time, there are better choices here.

A bit over the top with a future world of no violence, but worth watching.

Glenn Close is brilliant as the evil villian. Played to perfection.

This movie tells a great story beautifully and raises important issues without graphic violence, so common in many movies today. This is a great film.

A great movie, you really feel for the inventor as he becomes frustrated with something that he knows will work to shorten the war.

A good clean family movie. A bonus is that Dolly Parton is a credible actor without having to sing. She is believeable in her role.

Jerry Lewis proves he can act without Dean Martin. Sight gags that only Jerry can do with perfection.

The movie reaches deep into your emotions. Finding those most sensitive feelings. The relationships between his family and his dream is finely balanced that it makes one experience his frustration as though it was ours. The movie is filled with joy, heatbreak laughter and tears.
