a great suspensful film - crime drama at its best - Downey-Jnr brilliant but couldn't get past the hairstyle & fashion of the time!
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Hard to believe this goes on here, sad reality is it probably still does.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
Well worth watching, the deceit and suspense was enthralling and the late twist in the tail was the penultimate retribution
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Very interesting take on a what a "fixer" actually gets up to at a large law firm. Quite slow going at first but picks up speed towards the conclusion.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
Very emotional film about the love shared between a couple and the husband who would fight for his wife's fading memory
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
Very disturbing and emotional account of the lives of 4 boys who would be men and their treatment by a group of disgusting power hungry abusive men and their ultimate retribution, which is worth the wait.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Siobhan
I found this movie hard to watch, whilst based on a real life singing sensation, I thought it very tedious and didn't like the character of Ms Piaf (if it was realistic) at all. However, Mum loved it!
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
Very sad and at the same time very disturbing film about retribution for a life altered forever more by the thoughtless actions of thugs. Interesting ending, enjoyed it very much.
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Very funny and also a very poignant film - love Reno & Binoche, a lovely combination
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Interesting (true) story about how an international spy selling secrets to the enemy was finally brought down. Not a lot of "action" as such, more intrigue, but good.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
Very eye opening account of the situation in this part of the world and also very traumatic at the same time
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Sometimes quite depressing but also very eyeopening account of how multi cultural society doesn't always work well, certainly not like in Australia as it appears to be in LA.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
Took a few attempts at watching this the whole way through but got there eventually. Didn't like the retrospective flashback fast forward type story as it was really hard to keep up the interest level.
(Maybe) - review by Siobhan
Very powerful and moving account of the troubles faced by young black Americans in "LA" and how they either had a choice of getting ahead or, basically, getting dead
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
a tale of what goes 'round comes 'round but with everybody getting played on their way 'round, only they don't really what's going on either
(Maybe) - review by Siobhan
Quite slow moving film, not particularly rivetting. Story was tinged with sadness and loss but I think the director's focus should have remained on the story of the little girl and not focussed as much on the relationship of her parents.
(Maybe) - review by Siobhan
Very slow moving disjointed and retrospective flashbacks and then fast forward to the present again. Hard to follow and very long film with no perceived conclusion.

Didn't watch this film but Dad enjoyed it.

Up to a point, the movie was going along well, if a little slow but then it reached a point where I totally lost interest regardless of the fact that Blanchett and Rabisi were the lead actors.

A truly wonderful film of great historic importance in British and world history. Full of political backstabing and intrigue coupled with the personal lives of the main characters all woven together in a captivating and enthralling manner.
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Very slow moving film. I lost interest part way through but continued watching just the same to find out what happened at the penultimate moment.

Whilst I'm a fan of the mafioso genre, this film just didn't maintain my attention. It was quite slow moving and pretty boring.

I preferred Die Hard with a Vengeance to this one. I found this film less believable than any of the earlier Die Hards but if you're after action, that's guaranteed. Bruce has still got it.
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Whilst at times very graphic, this film portrays a believable story of a young woman trapped behind "enemy lines" in WWII who finds herself cavorting with the enemy and spying on them for the resistance.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
Although there are others of this genre this film differs enough to keep you interested from beginning to end. A great tale of triumph over adversity.
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Dad said he enjoyed it. I couldn't stay due to the narration style of the film even though I am a fan of RDJnr
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
Very funny, laugh out loud moments coupled with uncomfortable silence at the "odd" relationship between O'Toole and his "Venus" but overall pretty good to watch
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
Another great film in the series, perhaps there'll be a 4th? Would be good.....
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Very slow, very disturbing and ultimately very difficult to stay focussed to the end. The opening scene lays the path for what is to come. If it was a true story you could understand it but as a fictional work, you are left wondering who could actually make something like that up.
(Maybe) - review by Siobhan
if it was more about the letters and less blood, guts and war I may have enjoyed it more. Dad loved it, being a war buff.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
too slow for me, couldn't make it through to the end but Mum and Dad enjoyed it, persisted to the end and said it was actually a really nice story.
(Maybe) - review by Siobhan
Focusses on a very troubled teen (Lohan) and her difficulty with facing her own demons. Some lighthearted funny moments in between but overall an enjoyable film, not one for the boys.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
Very moving, really cleverly put together with 4 separate but intertweaved stories moving easily between one another
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
A bit slow and disjointed in the beginning but not too bad in the end.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
Another good instalment in this Statham series of films. Not as on the "edge of your seat" as the first one but still very worthwhile nonetheless.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
Wasn't so much thrilling as bizarre, didn't enjoy this film.
(Maybe) - review by Siobhan
Slow to start but eventually moved a long at an okay pace, Clive Owen is great as he always is but I never did get to the bottom of the relationship between his character and a female, perhaps I missed that bit! Not bad, not a thriller either.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
Excellent - love Jason Statham
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
A great film, a little "soft" as far as gangster type movies go, but very enjoyable, lovely feeling of family and loyalty played out.
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Ben Kingsley was brilliant as he usually is but this was a very heartwrenching tale and therefore you have to be in the right frame of mind to watch it in its entirety.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
I had to really persist with this film, I think I saw all the best bits in the preview, black does not describe this comedy, more dark, sad and bizarre
(Maybe) - review by Siobhan
Love Johnny Depp, as always he's brilliant. Another great tale in this trilogy, maybe there's room for another one? perhaps not.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Siobhan
Very good but at times annoying with all the "ambient noises" and flash pictures it was a little tricky to pick up what was actual and what was only imagined
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
Great film (a warning to those who haven't seen it that there is lots of swearing) hilariously funny tale of miscommunication and just plain dumb luck
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Whilst I love Mark Ruffalo, I couldn't get past the lead character's annoying voice and monologue throughout the entire film. Yes it was sad but also tinged with total disbelief at the antics of the lead character.
(Don't bother!) - review by Siobhan
Another great film, maybe the last in the sereies maybe not but I love them all, this one outranking 12 in my books.
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Lovely to see Audrey in her first feature film. Diappointed it wasn't a colour reproduction but nonetheless it was a nice story.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
At some point I wanted to strangle Diane Keaton but maybe that was the whole point of her character - very annoying, but eventually I began to enjoy watching it and had plenty of laughs along the way.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
Dad liked the film but I didn't get to see it. He said that it was set in the distant past and that he presumed the film would move forward in time as it continued and he was a little disappointed it didn't. Also very long film.

Classic Steve McQueen, classic car chase scenes, classic alround but mostly watched it again just for the Mustang!
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Must admit to not partaking of this film but the family thoroughly enjoyed it, really "cracked" them up, they were in fits of laughter for a great deal of the movie I was informed.
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Very funny for the most part, I could definitely sympathise because I love my doggies!!
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
Really, don't bother. I didn't make it to the end because it lost my interest somewhere in the beginning!
(Don't bother!) - review by Siobhan
This film is set in a wonderfully romantic period but unfortunately the two main characters never quite get there - that's why it's called unrequited love - but what a beautiful story.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
Don't bother, hardly a serial killer thriller, more like a completely unbelievable load of bollocks
(Don't bother!) - review by Siobhan
Much more for children's viewing than adults, I was hoping to re-live the book of my childhood but was somewhat disappointed in this adaptation.

Brilliant adaptation of this classic Shakespearean tale - loved every minute of it, it's laugh - Rufus Sewell is truly wonderful.
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Loved this film all the way through, right up until the final twist in the tale, whilst it doesn't exactly keep you on the edge of your seat, you do need to concentrate to pick up all of the side issues along the way.
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Thoroughly entertaining and at times very amusing look at 15th Century England through the eyes of a young Shakespeare
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
Whilst at times distressing and heartbreaking this is definitely worth watching, as it is based on actual people and events.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
Very long winded but poignant and touching film about a woman's endless determination to seek the truth about a love who was MIA after the war.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
Excellent follow up to "Identity", looking forward to seeing the 3rd in the trilogy when it comes out.
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Great tall tales, very poignant at times - quite quirky but also a very touching story of a man's relationship with his son.
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Love Matt Damon but didn't enjoy this film, too much tooing and froing from past to present and then back again and then forward again, it may have been necessary to tell the story but was annoying.
(Maybe) - review by Siobhan
Excellent action flick and espionage keeps you thinking, betrayal and revenge, love Wahlberg, he's great in this
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Gripping fast paced, not too fast, keeps you thinking, guessing, great car chase scene in the Mini - I love these films and only got it again recently so it would be fresh in my mind by the time the III film will be on DVD.
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Lovely film, not to soppy, not to clichéd either. Even if you don't necessarily like Jack Black, you won't mind him in this as his character is rather normal. Almost on a par with Love Actually as it's based around the holiday season also, as is the title!
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Excellent film about the antics of the Stasi before the wall came down - thank God I've never been under that much scrutiny - it certainly makes you appreciate the democratic freedom we take for granted.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Siobhan
Pretty slow moving, overly dramatic, made it to the end but only just.
(Maybe) - review by Siobhan
Couldn't get into this film at all, if it wasn't for Dustin Hoffman's character, I would have stopped it much earlier but in the end I turned it off as I found it too abhorrent and grotesque.
(Don't bother!) - review by Siobhan
Can't say I watched this film but Dad seemed to have enjoyed it (after 3 attempts to stay awake for the whole film)
(Maybe) - review by Siobhan
Didn't enjoy this film, watched to the painfully slow end only to be disappointed.
(Don't bother!) - review by Siobhan
Wonderful film, really makes you think about the validity of corporal punishment given how many innocent people there could be in the system.
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
It's Rocky!, not as he was, but still not too bad for a comeback more than one decade on
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
Great film about the benefits of friendship in times of difficulty or in this case, incarceration
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Truly magical scenery and music. The story is both tragic and romantic but the character of Meryl Streep's just a tad OTT when it came to "possessing" things
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
some would venture this film is a somewhat more theatrical account rather than factual account of this man's story and of what actually occurred during this period in Ireland
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
a factual, at times graphic and violent account of the atrocities that occurred in war but also the humanity of one man's crusade to save as many as he could.
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Couldn't help but feel sad for the prey in this flick. Bit of an old story, fugitive type copy.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan

Very strange film, abhorrent premise and hard to believe it received such accolades, definitely not my cup of tea even though I do really like the two leading ladies as actresses.
(Maybe) - review by Siobhan
Loved it, love Jean Reno, a little slow in the beginning, need to concentrate to work out what's what in this film, but otherwise really enjoyable.
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
A very good "mafia" flick if a little dated now, if you can get past Debra Winger, you're better than I.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
I couldn't get into this film even though I know it's supposed to be "one of the classics" abject cruelty doesn't sit well with me.

Whilst Miss Potter may have had an unhappy childhood/adolesence/early adulthood, she certainly made up for it with her work and made millions of children very happy indeed.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
At first I thought, no way, I'm not watching this but I perservered just to get the ending and it wasn't as bad as I first thought - slow to start.

Great film, weird ending but still very enjoyable.

Very moving tale, Aidan Quinn is brilliant as the enthusiastic teacher trying to bring about change.

Great film, must pay very careful attention to the story, twists & turns abound!

Not for me but my Dad absolutely loves this film!

Good Pacino film with a twist in the tail!
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
Very slow film, couldn't really get into it.

Wonderful story, still just as stirring as it was when I saw it/read it many years ago.
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Touching movie about comraderie among enemies, at times unbelievable but apparently based on actual events.
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Worthwhile wading through the sadness and demise of the main character to discover what his pursuit finally brought him.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
I couldn't get with the whole happy feet thing, lost interest part-way in and found maybe it was aimed at the younger generation.
(Maybe) - review by Siobhan
From the start to 20 minutes in I knew this film wasn't worth bothering with. Some of the female cast were well known - low grade film about revisiting your youth.
(Don't bother!) - review by Siobhan
A wonderfully poignant story about the relationship between father and son.
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Mum loved it! but definitely not for those NOT enjoying people breaking into song for no reason at any moment!
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
Great flick, Meryl Streep is such a biatch it's fantastic!!
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
A little slow moving and dis-jointed but a good story nonetheless.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
Wasn't really a "sequel" as such but still a good film to watch.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
If you can get past the stupidity of the antics of Day-Lewis in the early part of the film, this is a great account of actual events.
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Quite funny for the most part, if not a little odd at times.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
This is a favourite of my Dad's - he loved it!
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
One of my favourites. Lovely story, great cast, am a Depp fan from way back.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Siobhan
One of the strangest films I've ever had the displeasure of sitting through. My Mum wanted to watch it just to see what happened but I certainly did not.
(Don't bother!) - review by Siobhan
An absolutely hilarious movie, the bumbling antics of both lead actors, loved it, absolutely loved it.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Siobhan
Interesting film, quite twisted but good nonetheless.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
Too slow for me to be bothered seeing it through to the end.
(Don't bother!) - review by Siobhan
Wonderful film about the atrocities of war and the strength of courage and the human spirit in the face of great adversity.
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Annoying characters in this film prevented enjoyment of this story for me.
(Maybe) - review by Siobhan
Lovely story about friendship and adversity, beautiful scenery.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
A little slow, a little predictable but worth it for the wise cracks & one liners from Shirley MacLaine! She's brilliant as ever.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
Don't let Debra Winger's name put you off this film (if you like me don't like her accent and "tough" exterior)it is a true story and a wonderful one at that.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
starts off a little slow but is worthwhile perservering as it is a lovely movie highlighting the important of good friendships
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
The original and the best, Mr Poitier is superb against the backdrop of an otherwise racist, hateful & hick mob, not to mention the local P.D.
(Not to be missed!) - review by Siobhan
Wonderful, very moving, definitely worthwhile.
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
One of my all time favourites, beautiful scenery, characters and
story. Daniel Day-Lewis is almost unrecognisable in this film as his character is so far removed from those he usually plays. A truly romantic film that also features the wonderful music of Puccini.
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
One of my favourites, never fails to crack me up!
(Not to be missed!) - review by Siobhan
The tension was palpable! great cast and great movie.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
Quite good, not hilarious but a few good laughs. Fans of "the Hoff" will love it (I'm not one of them)...
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
A little long winded in parts but mainly a lovely old film with a good story. Those who don't like too much "doom and gloom" won't enjoy this movie but it you can get past it, it's worth a look.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
Good action scenes, love Jean Reno, nice story albeit not very plausible.
(Worth watching) - review by Siobhan
For the tweenie age bracket I feel. Did a lot of fast forwarding to get to the predictable conclusion.
(Maybe) - review by Siobhan
More like a home movie than a documentary. I need not be further reminded of the atrocities of war in the Middle East - was hoping for a compelling story with some sort of a conclusion but was sorely disappointed.
(Don't bother!) - review by Siobhan
I did watch the whole film, only because I wanted to know how it ended but it was absolute torture, I found the characters annoying, frustrating and for the most part, stupid with the exception of the "lead" couple.
(Don't bother!) - review by Siobhan
Wouldn't have said it was a psychological thriller, pretty predictable from start to finish.
(Maybe) - review by Siobhan
A wonderful and touching tale of perserverance winning out in the end. I admit to having seen it many years before but enjoyed it just as much as the first time.
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
Should have read the prologue more closely . Only managed about 20 minutes and could bear no more!
(Don't bother!) - review by Siobhan
Love this movie, love the car chase scenes and the story of 'good' baddies getting even.
(Excellent) - review by Siobhan
A couple of unknown quantities in this flick, whilst being fairly transparent, it did provide some good laughs - if you like this genre, you'll be familiar with the whole happy ending thing by now!
