Although one of the saddest films I've seen, this was beautiful to watch. Will Smith sure knows how to do pathos!! The story has stayed with me for hours. I watched it again 3 hours after the first viewing, and found the Special Features a real bonus; hearing from the director, with his passion and definite view on how he wanted the actors to be understated in conveying words, asking them to rely more on their emotion. It worked. I loved the way the story unfolded, with the explanation for events evolving slowly. A great film

Despite the ridiculously inplausible story line, with Bauer able to withstand one physical and mental catastrophe after another yet still managing to come out clean shaven and with superhuman strength, ready to face the next onslaught, the suspense gets me in.
Don't know if I can handle another whole series though!

Great plot line, well executed.

Interesting story, well told, and with great music.
Adrien Brody gives a gentle portrayal of Leonard Chess. Seemingly great chemistry between him and Beyonce Knowles, who was also surprisingly good in her role as Etta James. Amazing voice!

Quentin Tarantino is not one of my favourite directors, but his treatment in this film is impressive.

If you like very orchestrated stunts and action you might like this one. The girls are nice to watch, but nahhhhh! this one's not for me.

This ranks as one of my favourite films. Toni Collette is superb. The music and photography enhance the story beautifully. The direction is incredibly sensitive, allowing silences to speak volumes.
