This movie was quite confronting and made no apologies for doing so. Based on real events and experiences, this movie was brilliantly written, acted and directed.

poor plot, poor songs... some good actors, but even they cannot help a sub par script come to life.

I love teen comdeies as much as anyone - American Pie and Date Movie are gold class movies... I was not expecting this to be as good as those... but with Ashton in the lead role I was expecting to laugh but this was the most boring, ridiculous movie. Predictable, over the top and just plain dumb. We never made it to the end. Skip it. If you want good teen comedy, go with the classics mentioned above or Van Wilder, Harold and Kumar etc. If you want to see Ashton in a brilliant movie, see Butterfly Effect.

I read the book years ago, crying into my pillow as I did! It was a beautiful story - and that it was true made it even more beautiful. When I saw it on the lists at quickflix my first instinct was to jump on it. Then trepadition set in, as it often does when you watch movies made from a favoured book. But this movie did the story great justice and left us all in tears and big red noses. It was brilliantly acted by Jack Lemon and Hank Azaria, aweseom to see the latter in a dramatic role and do it well! Only watch with a box of tissues at the ready and in good company. There aren't any special features on the DVD (unless you count stills from the movie and a word from Oprah) and, disappointingly, no subtitles either. But don't miss this movie!

most boring movie ever. And i LOVE colin firth. but this was boring. had a good base plot but was sooooo slow with ridiculous dialogue. Definately do not bother.

A brilliant movie. It does not fade with repeated viewings. The characters are beautifully developed and acted perfectly by this amazing cast. I laughed, I cried and I reflected long after the credits had finished rolling. You have to watch this movie!

Michelle Pfeiffer was as striking as always in this movie. Alison Lohman is completely new to me but won me over immediately with her innocence and vulnerability and continued to pull at my heart strings as the movie went along and she learnt to look after herself from different people. Renee Zelwegger is someone I am usually fond of but she annoyed me in this role. Robin Wright Penn plays the trailer trash Christian oh so well – brilliant! Cameos from Patrick Fugit, Billy Connelly and Noah Wyle. The story… good base but it felt like there was a lot they were not telling us, there were obvious gaps which happens, I suppose, when stories are taken from books (which I have not read, but now definitely want to!). But there were holes in the plot and with we are left to assume a lot. Overall enjoyable to watch. Special features: the behind the scenes were quite boring, the interviews were frustrating in the way they were edited and, most annoyingly, there were no subtitles for the special features or for the main feature itself. Impossible to watch if you are hard of hearing. I am not, but live under the flight path so watch everything with subtitles on.

This movie is brilliant for young and old alike. My partner and I could not stop laughing! The plot is simple but amusing, the voices were well done and the clay figurines were fantastic. The popular Wallace and Gromit have started a pest control business "anti-pesto" combine that with Wallace's brilliant array of weird and wonderful inventions and hilarity and mayhem ensues! There are heaps of behind the scenes and futurities and that are very interesting to view - making of the figurines and sets etc. Definitely not to be missed!

This movie was very different for both the lead actors. Easy to think of as a chick flick but there is more of a stroy here, good plot that was well developed. All the actors did a great job. A nice blend of comedy, romance, drama, thriller, suspense and action. Love it!

Absolute GOLD movie, for young and old :)

sorry, I love Johnny Depp, but this movie was very slow to start with all the action packed in at the end like an afterthought.

Great cast and very watchable movie. Predictable but still entertaining.

Emma Thomson was absolutely fantastic in this movie - brilliantly acted. But it is morbid and can be hard to watch.

As with any movie that claims to be drama but stars a comedic actor, I was doubtful when I put this into my DVD player... but WOW what an amazing journey! A brillian movie, awesome script, fantastic plot and superb acting by all involved. You will love this ride!
