Zathura, a smart and stylish kid's adventure, launches into action when Danny (Jonah Bobo) twists the key of a dusty science fiction game that unleashes a localized meteor shower and wrenches Danny's house into orbit around a distant ringed planet, bringing Danny's brother Walter (Josh Hutcherson) and sister Lisa (Kristen Stewart) along. Soon a defective robot, a rangy astronaut (Dax Shepard), and an alien spaceship enter the picture. Only by completing the game can the kids return their house to its proper space-time coordinates, but the game board falls into the hands of some nasty, carnivorous lizards!

I hated the kid in this soooo much... beheading by circular saw is sometimes a good thing.

Highly entertaining kids-flick. Imagine Jumanji in space.... Lizards may scare younger children though. 4 stars.

Cool action/adventure movie - along the lines of Jumanji. Worth a look.

Great kids entertainment, that even the adults could get a kick out of. Definately worth a look if you have young kids.

Very good movie .... more an adult movie than a kids one .... would be scary for the little ones. The acting by the kids was fantastic ... also has a good script.

Not as powerful as Jumunji, but nevertheless very entertaining. Loved the ending, watch for the split second return of something on the front lawn, a nice added touch!

It is exactly the same as jimunji. The writer is as bad as Clive Cussler 'same story different names'

Hey, I really enjoyed this movie, and I didn't even watch it with any kids. This would be an ideal family movie that even adults will enjoy.

Fantastic! Best kids movie I've seen in yonks and I'm not a kid and really enjoyed it. If you like a touch of scifi fantasy and a good story (ie loads of fun, not serious but with a message) get this one out. Watch it with the kids or without. Well acted and directed. The youngest child actor is a gem.

Okay for the older kids. There is a moral in there, in addition to plenty of action and imagination. Nothing new in the theme though.

My children absolutely loved Zathura (Aged 8 & 10). They watched it 6 times. I think it is movie aimed solely for kids though, as it did not hold my interest as some family movies can do.

If you enjoyed Jumanji, you will also love this one. The similarities between these two, you will find, will take you on an amazing trip with great lessons for the kids - like treasure your siblings, because life without them, may be very bad.

As has been already pointed out, a space version of Jumanji however still manages to entertain in it's own right.

Absolutely spectacular visuals and special effects. Your big screen TV pays off ! However fails to deliver much else. Falls flat on any tension or suspense despite several attempts and grandiose symphonic soundtrack. Not a lot of comedy either, mainly a few smiles rather than any real laughs. Nevertheless, a little different (Jumanji’s been here before of course) and enjoyable.
