Director: Peyton Reed
Actors: Jim Carrey, Zooey Deschanel, Sasha Alexander, Terence Stamp, Rhys Darby, John Michael Higgins, Bradley Cooper, Danny Masterson

Jim Carrey stars as Carl Allen, a guy whose life is going nowhere - the operative word being "no" - until he signs up for a self-help program based on one simple covenant: say yes to everything... and anything. Unleashing the power of "YES" begins to transform Carl's life in amazing and unexpected ways, getting him promoted at work and opening the door to a new romance. But his willingness to embrace every opportunity might just become too much of a good thing.

A simple concept of a movie and typical Jim Carey role. Everbody really liked it. It was a good wholesome, meaningful movie. That Zooey is lovely to look at. She was so good in elf.

I actually learned something from this film. If you just sit on your ass all day not doing anything or communicating with people your life will become isolated and lonely. I wouldn't say it's a fab movie, but it gives out a great message overall.

The yes concept has much merit, just a shame the film got a bit silly.

Only get this if you're a fan of Carrey. Zooey was the highlight, as was Terrence Stamp. A one gag movie that got stale for me quickly - watched most of it on fast forward.

Not a bad film, but not great either. More than anything I think Jim Carrey just distracts from the story and isn't quite believable as Zooey Deschanel's boyfriend.

I had read some reviews and this movie did not score very highly. I have no idea why. Jim Carey is best known for his over the top comedy action. In this movie his humour is a lot more belivable and natural, seeming to roll off his tongue and as a result I really enjoyed it. A romantic comedy with character development and story line. The addition of Rhys Darby from The Flight of the Conchords injected some extra humour into this movie, specially with that New Zealand accent. An enjoyable watch.

I've never been a big Jim Carey fan but have enjoyed a few of his movies, and this was one of them. Zooey Deschanel was excellent and her music went well with the movie. Good storyline and nice ending. Recommended to those who want a fun movie to watch with their partner.

Very very funny!!! Sometimes Carrey's style can be a little over the top (don't get me wrong I'm still a fan) but you see a few different sides to him in this movie which is fantastic!

I was only interested in this movie because of Zooey Deschanel. Not a huge fan of Jim Carrey's humour and facial expressions. This is the story about Carl (Jim Carrey) who always says no to things and leads a quiet life. He gets dragged along to this 'Yes' seminar and then has to say yes to every question/opportunity he is presented with. It's interesting to think what would happen if we ended up doing this ourselves. Near the end, he discovers he didn't always have to say yes to everything, just the things he really wanted to say yes to. I really liked Zooey's character Allison. In the extras, you get to see the band's video clips. They are great. It is her singing those songs, she has a great voice.

Good movie spoilt only by the scene where he can't say NO to the advances of the dirty old lady. BTW I think Zooey Deschanel is great.

If you've ever seen a Jim Carrey film, you know that his style of humour is an aquired taste. This film leans toward a slightly more subdued Carrey character without losing the laughs. When he has to say "yes' to ever opportunity presented to him, it opens up a world of possibilities and meeting a new love. Whilst sitting on your butt watching this flick, you realise that too many moments in life go flying past without being considered. It's a good eye opener to the many who let each day slip away and good for a laugh in the mean time! Enjoy and say YES!

I think this was a very ordinary movie. Exect for the last 10 minutes it was not really a comedy. Jim Carrey really has not put out a good funny movie for quite awhile.

Interesting idea but poorly realised so-called comedy. The character Norman was by far the best thing in it.

If you can suspend disbelief enough and don't have to be like Dr Spock and find logic in everything then Yes you might like this, otherwise take heed of the other word.

Boring!! Starts out really slow and improves slightly during the second half of the movie. Personally, I'm over Jim Carey and his stupid facial expressions, we've seen them all before in every other movie of his. You would have to be a huge fan to enjoy this movie, it is so typical of his acting style.

Just say, "Yes" to this movie if you're a Carrey fan. Jim Carrey up to his usual antics. If you enjoy his goofball comedy then you'll enjoy this film. There are plenty of cheap laughs and it doesn't get bogged down pushing the "say 'yes' to life" message.

Good Movie, not one of Jim Carrey's best, but still good. the support are what made this movie very enjoyable to watch. Loved Zooey Dechanel and the fact that she was singing (which I was surprised by how good it was) made the movie. Whoever thought up the lyrics for the songs is a genius.

I just love Jim Carrey. If you love him too, then this movie is worth watching. It's predictable and not too dissimilar to Liar Liar, but provides a good laugh and light hearted humour. Not a movie that will change your life, but it will keep you entertained.

I always love going in to a movie with low expectations and being pleasantly surprised. While this is not up there with "Liar, Liar", I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Rhys Darby almost steals every scene he is in as the groovy bank manager Norm and Jim Carrey does this sort of role with ease. he is likeable and funny and makes you want to learn the guitar!

One of the funnier movies of late. I laugh at crude humour as much as the next person, but this film was funny because it was genuine. Jim Carrey is at the top of his game, with the slapstick comedy he is so well known for, Liar Liar style, and Zooey shines, as always, with us again being blessed by her singing. If you want some light entertainment and walk away having enjoyed it, this is the movie for you! Just as a side note, I thought it was funny that there was 2 generations of NCIS agents in the film, even though they never meet!

A good Jim Carrey movie. A jim carrey surrounded by very good comedians and the result is great. Made me think of Shallow Hal for some reasons. Yep go for it if you like Carrey you won't be disappointed.

Where is the funny Jim Carey? This was better than I thought it would be. These kinds of roles that he portrays just don't do him justice. Still is worth the watch.

Averagely funny. It makes you miss the Jim Carrey of old though, with Mask and Liar Liar. Its a good idea but it seems to take a while. Zooey Deschanel is great though and Rhys Darby sure does make you smile.

I always enjoy Jim Carrey, if only he could get a script that does full justice to his comedic talents. He is at his best when he can give full throat to the dangerously energetic slapstick of which he has proved himself the master. He needs a script that provides for powerful internal conflict ? see Mask or Liar Liar for excellent examples. The premise of Yes Man seems promising, if rather close to that of Liar Liar. Jim plays a man (Carl) stuck in a deep rut who commits to a self-improvement routine which requires him to say yes to everything. Predictably this leads to some funny and, in the case of the sexual advances of a little old lady, rather disturbing, situations. Equally predictably Carl meets the girl of his dreams, Allison, played by Zooey Deschanel (the girl of everyone?s dreams). From here on its all a bit predictable and the movie loses it edge quite early, plodding on to a by-the-numbers resolution. Carl?s boss is played by Rhys Darbey (Murray from Flight of the Conchords) complete with Kiwi accent. Interestingly I see Rhys?s next role is in a forthcoming movie by Richard Curtis (Mr Bean, Four Weddings, Love Actually, etc), called The Boat that Rocked, about an illegal radio station in the North Sea in the 1960s and starring no less than Philip Seymour Hoffman, Emma Thompson and Kenneth Branagh! I can hardly wait.
