A charming film, told in typically French style. I didn't realise it was set in the 60's for some time either (my ignorance I imagine!), but it's a very easy movie to watch and should please many.
Excellent movie, beautifully acted, an all star cast
Lovely film with well drawn characters.
Really lovely movie, gentle and heartwarming. Loved the Spanish maids and Jean-Louise, finding that there is so much more to life than he had realised. Not to be missed.
A feel-good movie without sentimentality that often accompanies comedy/reality genre. Directed by Philippe Le Guay, the film never evades issues no matter how improbable they may be. If anything the story’s premise is fanciful but it’s done with style and conviction. ‘Women on the Sixth Floor’ is quintessentially European. Its plot is unconventional and deals surprisingly but honestly with many issues, including infidelity.
Well acted, great characters, funny and thoughtful - a very enjoyable film
Great movie, very gentle and thoroughly enjoyable after a hard week.
Very entertaining and certainly a bit out of the ordinary
I loved the way this movie developed, slowly revealing the characters and taking its time showing what era it was set in. Once you knew (hint: Franco in power in Spain) then I could notice the perfect details in fashion in the house and clothing. The slow pace in characters made the lovestory line slightly more believable. A very enjoyable movie, I wanted to see more.
Brilliant.Superb performances and a joy to watch.
This movie was a lot better than we expected. It was one of those feel good movies where the lower class people are so much happier and alive than the snooty upper class. Liked the character of the Male lead who turns out to have a heart after all.
Quite a pleasant film but only for those with rose coloured glasses. Stepped over the reality to fantasy line on more than a few occasions. But if you are willing to forgive it that, then it was enjoyable. Didn't think it was slow, but think that is an under 30's thing!
A beautiful story about the obligations of life, the joy of friends and culture and the beauty of love. A wonderfully touching movie.
A complete delight just skips along... a dear friend recommended this and I'm in her debt [what a wonderful place to be!]
An interesting and delightful movie. Bit slow at times like others have said but still enjoyable. Didn't even mid the sub titles. Don't know how come I asked for it but pleased I did. Was ready to give up even before I started to watch it and again pleased I didn't.
This movie gives some insight on what it must have been like in the olden days! A very enjoyable film.
A delightful story of love & a man finding his true self. A little slow at times but still very enjoyable. In French & Spanish with English subtitles.
A simplistic innocent entertaining charming tale, enjoyable.
Viva ,Viva....a charming movie about the relationship between the Spanish maids and the French bourgeois family below...enjoyed it
An easy to watch pleasant romp through 60's France. It's a pretty improbable story but the way it is woven you can forgive that and just enjoy it for what it is. You would need a heart of steel not to enjoy this little charmer.
Beautiful, heart warming comedy. The plot was original and well written and played by the actors.
A great movie about life even though it has subtitiles it was easy to read, lovely delightful movie.
Quite enjoyable, felt there could have been more to it. A relaxing film.
I loved this movie, it was warm delightful and Subtitles were no problem at all.
Didn't really make sense. Why break up a family because you're bored? I guess that's typically French but it felt as if the plot was a last minute idea, a love story in case the movie wasn't interesting enough.
Loved this movie! It is foreign but it didn't spoil the pleasure of this charming movie. Makes one appreciate the little things and what you have. I suppose it is a bit of a chick flick but don't be put off it is just lovely.
A lovely heart warming story of a man who discovers passion in his life through the Spanish women on the 6th floor. The Spanish soundtrack is a bonus.
Very enjoyable, just our kind of movie - gentle and warm humour and probably very accurate story about life for maids in Paris
Excellent movie. Not disappointing in the least. So what that it was subtitled - that didnt take away from the excellent script and the movie's subtleties. Very well done - one that I will certainly watch again
Great show but you need to be quick reading the subtitles other than that quite enjoyable.
My (female) friends and I enjoyed it a lot.
Totally entertaining movie. No one can do a movie like the french. It was wonderful.
Excellent film! As is the case with many French films, it ended suddenly and leaves the conclusion up to the viewers imagination and discussion.
A sweet movie. The ending was sudden but didn't need to be longer.
Parts of this were fun, but all in all it was a bit dull and very predictable.
Thoroughly enjoyed this movie from the very start to end. I would agree it ends suddenly but I didn't feel it had gone long enough. could have watched some more. Brilliant movie with more going on than it appears. would watch it again.
An intelligent study of power and control. Very French. But let down by a very conventional ending.
What was great was that the extras included interviews with actors who were not only articulate but well educated. How many US actors can make philosophicals allusions?
Just when the movie gets interesting, it ends. But by then it's gone on for more than long enough. Many scenes don't add much to the story, which in any case is rather simplistic and unlikely. It's generally inoffensive, mildly humorous and pleasant enough, but not anything special.
A nice, new and fresh movie. One of those that you can't get enough of!
I loved this. Witty, charming, it moves along nice and quickly.
