Mild sexual references, coarse language and drug references

Actors: Meg Ryan, Eva Mendes, Jada Pinkett Smith, Annette Bening, Carrie Fisher, Debra Messing, Candice Bergen, Cloris Leachman, Bette Midler, Debi Mazar

The women is about friends and mothers and daughters. It's about breaking up and finding your way back. It's about reinventing yourself. It's about walking through fire for what you believe in. It's about Women. Diane English, the creator of Murphy Brown, has gathered an exceptional cast for the remake of George Cukor's 1939 classic. Her script maintains the arch spirit of the original, and the all-female cast, but the women aren't as relentlessly catty this time around. The story follows a group of female friends when the one they envied most discovers her husband is cheating on her.

Starring Meg Ryan's lips, which are now inflated enough to deserve their own spot on the cast list. Dull.

Agree with the other one-star rating comments here. Boring, not recommended at all.

Unusual movie in that there is not one man in it. So it is refreshing for women that need a "break" from maleness. The acting is not fabulous but is entertaininbg enough..for a rainy Saturday afternoon

One of the worst films I have ever seen. It gooey and gush. The awful child-birth scene which is supposed to be comedic is just moronic. Cannot recommend this film.

Jeez what a disappointment,I expected a lot more with the cast in the movie. Badly written, badly acted, no storyline explored in depth. Pap.

A saccharine treatment of a few deep subjects. Pure hollywood and only head in the sand female romantics would attach any credibility to the story. But it did have a few good lines and scenes, but went amateurish at a few points where you thought it was actually getting somewhere deeper. Score 1/10 for real world reality and 8/10 for female unreality. Quite a good escapist movie I guess!

I think I had an estrogen overdoes watching this, but it wasn't really targeted at me. My partner, however, really enjoyed it. She was entertained and amused by a very good cast and a reasonable story.

Good story. Weve all been there. A woman deciding its time to fulfil her own life ambitions, not those of her husband. I enjoyed this, and the actresses all played their parts well. 4 out of 5

Wannabe First Wives Club.. this flim should have been stronger considering the A list cast, but ultimately falls flat. A good Saturday afternoon flick.

An awful, terrible waste of time ! The writing is just so bad ~ I didn't even believe these women were acquaintances, let alone BEST friends. The characters were like cardboard cut-outs. And don't get me started on Meg Ryan and the colossal amount of work she's had done on her face (The Joker comes to mind). Poor Carrie Fisher didn't look much better. Nice to see Cloris Leechman and Candice Bergen, and in fact quite refreshing watching a film that didn't contain 1 male actor or extra. It only scores 1 for pulling-off the all female cast. Watch the original version and not this poor remake !

The Women I've come to the conclusion that all movies that cast Meg Ryan are stupid. Her hairdo in the movie certainly didn't help.

This has to be one of the WORST movie. So shallow, so boring, so annoying, so pretentious, so wrong! It is sad considering the talented actresses involved (well some of them). Unless you've got 2 peas for a brain and like being deceived by Hollywood, then don't bother with this one!

I wondered how this would movie would pan out. I was disappointed with the ending. It was good to see the inside of Saks, the store. And, the inside of the houses and garden settings. The storyline was not that great! A great line up of ladies, but it should have been a memorable story. For me it was not!

Same old ''bunch of girls hanging out, how they deal with the men in their lives'' same story. Nothing to write home about. You have a bunch of one time great actors, trying to reignite thier careers. Save yourself the time.... Snorrrrrre. Zzzzzz

Aw, look it could have been so much better. It's got a great cast whose talent is proven; it's got great material; it's funny in parts and poignant in others; but really, when you draw comparisons of it to other films which it echoes such as The First Wives Club, The Devil Wears Prada, and The Stepford wives, this one just isn't as good as it could be. That said, it is entertaining, with the best comedic performances coming, albeit few and far between, from Debra Messing and Jada Pinkett Smith. Candice Bergen, as always, steals the scene when she's in it. Debi Mazar stands out.

Yep, got to agree the with the previous reviewer. Much ado about nothing. Just a bunch of pretty faces (not a male in sight) and a very slim plot, centred around marital infidelity, female friendship and "finding yourself". 3Stars for the celebrity factor, but that's about it.
