We click our heels in anticipation. There's no place like home and no movie like this one. From generation to generation, The Wizard of Oz brings us together - kids, grown-ups, families, friends. The dazzling land of Oz, a dream-come-true world of enchanted forests, dancing scarecrows and singing lions, wraps us in its magic with one great song-filled adventure after another. Based on L. Frank Baum's treasured book series, The Wizard of Oz was judged the best family film of all time by the American Film Institute. And this never-before-seen restoration looks and sounds better than ever. We invite you to embark for the Emerald City on the most famous road in movie history. Dorothy (Judy Garland), Scarecrow (Ray Bolger), Tin Woodman (Jack Haley) and Cowardly Lion (Bert Lahr) await you on the Yellow Brick Road and Over the Rainbow.

I could never get tired of this movie and I can't count how many times I've seen it since my first time at a cinema in Melbourne many, many years ago now. It seems there's always something new to find about it that can be appreciated. I'm always enthralled at the tornado scene and when the witch's stockinged feet curl up! It's a magical movie and always to be so greatly enjoyed.

The Wizard of Oz, the timeless classic from the golden year of Hollywood, tells a story that nearly everybody can relate to during their childhood; escaping the mundane and becoming part of one's own world. The classic film that launched Judy Garland's career, be prepared for a story that runs along at a nineteen thirty nine pace and is, for the most part, a little bizarre.

I loved seeing this movie again. It was one of my favourites as a child and now my 3 year old has seen it and loved it as well. My dad who is 61 even enjoyed the movie as he hadn't seen it before. We all wish to see it again.

The commentary is even better than the film. Its not by the director/s, but a film historian shepherding a sizeable clutch of recordings of participants with gems of trivia.
