Mild sexual references and coarse language

Director: Nick Moore
Actors: Emma Roberts, Aidan Quinn, Nick Frost, Shirley Henderson, Alex Pettyfer, Natasha Richardson

Emma Roberts stars in the comedy Wild child as 16-year-old Poppy: a self-obsessed, incorrigible brat who lives a pampered life in her LA world. Though she's handed credit cards with unlimited balances and surrounded by countless hangers-on, Poppy can't escape the mounting frustration she feels with her family situation. And she makes sure that everyone knows it. After an over-the-top prank pushes her father, Gerry (Aidan Quinn), one step too far, Poppy is shipped off to an English boarding school. Finding herself in a foreign world of early curfews, stern matrons and mandatory lacrosse, the Malibu princess has finally met her match: a school of British girls who won't tolerate her spoiled ways.

I liked it. I had some good humour and I like it when prissy people get taken down a peg or two. I did get a bit bored in parts but it was mostly interesting.

Really felt for the Wild Child and the parts of her life which affected her deeply. Would be a very difficult time for a teen-ager to move into a boarding school at any time and be accepted by others but even more difficult in a new culture.

There seems to be a flood of girly 'parent-free' movies in the last few years, and though each and every one of them pinpoints a different issue, it always boils down to a great revelation for the main actress. Wild Child is definitely appropriate for this generation of teens. Addicted to technology, appearances and boys, it shows how much fun you can have WITHOUT these things, which not many movies do. It is a little ironic that in order to get the 'message' you must be planted in front of a TV/computer, but what do you expect in this day and age? Some might think the swearing is a little inappropriate for 13yr olds, but honestly, can you look at your 13yr old and tell yourself they never swear? Im 100% sure that every 13 yr old on the planet has a good vocabulary of curse words, and they know what each one means. I would recommend this movie to anyone of any age. My 7yr old niece loved it and my 70yr old grandmother loved it, there really is no age limit to enjoy drama, romance, comedy and a little wildness.

A cutesy movie. Worth watching for some mindlessness time. A bit of a heartwarming story in there too. Probably better for teens, but still enjoyable enough for adults.

A movie directed at teen audience. My 13 year old daughter really enjoyed this movie. I thought it was a fun movie, and still addressed real issues of friendship.

Good family movie funny especially if you have teenager girls. I related to how she felt and why she was as she was in the movie. Worth watching, especially young teenage girls and mums

So sad to think that on Sunday we watched this movie and today Natasha Richardson who plays the English headmistress is on life support. She was a great actor. Loved her in The Parent Trap. Would highly recommend this movie.

Definitely for teenage girls....we got it because a friend said it had good dance tracks. 2 1/2 dance tracks only. Very sanitised version of St Trinians.

Doesnt live up to the standards set by Clueless/Mean Girls etc. Ok for younger teens, but otherwise way too over the top, and not funny.
