Camp Firewood. 1981, it’s the last day of camp and everyone is busy. Camp director Beth is trying to keep order while falling in love with astrophysicist Henry, who is trying to save the camp from being hit by a piece of SKYLAB hurtling towards Earth. Camp counselor Coop is in love with Katie, who’s in love with lifeguard Andy. If that’s not enough, there’s a waterfall rescue, talking vegetable cans, the misfits, the cool kids…and more! It’s a star-filled, laugh-a-minute, crazy comedy. Summer camp was never this much fun!

A great cast but I didn't always 'get' the very left-of-centre humour. Still, it was worth watching, if only to see Bradley Cooper do a (very mild) gay sex scene!

This movie really tries to be funny, but I generally felt embarrassed for the actors. Some jokes hit, most miss; and then there are parts of the movie which veer into absurdity. Worth renting only to see the early work of actors like Paul Rudd and Elizabeth Banks. See David Wain's Role Models instead.

With such a talented cast you might expect a lot more from this low budget, cheap laughs film. There are some funny bits, but it could have been so much better. A really silly movie that passes some time but is little more than an extended Saturday Night Live sketch.
