What starts as a typical, carefree holiday at the beach for two young insurance company employees turns into a few days of murder, mayhem, romance, and hilarious misadventures. Weekend at Bernie's stars Andrew McCarthy and Jonathan Silverman as enterprising employees who having uncovered an elaborate scheme of fraud and embezzlement at their company, Larry and Richard (McCarthy and Silverman) are awarded their own special holiday at their boss' posh house at the Hamptons on Long Island. Being impressed by the perks at the end of the corporate ladder, the two friends are eager to participate in the social life of the Hamptons on Long Island. But their boss, Bernie (Terry Kiser), is a successful business man with a highly checkered background, and at a beach house party to end al such summer social institutions, the guest of honour turns up dead. However, Larry and Richard continue to live with him without spoiling their vacation with hilarious and startling results.

This is an old time classic, good for adults of the 80's as well as kids of the 2000's. Starts off slow with 'silly' humour, however gets better as the movie goes along. Kids (aged 10

Saw this movie several times years ago with our young kids and we all really enjoyed it. I must be getting old as this time it started to look a bit silly and dragged a bit. Maybe you have to watch it with kids in order to really enjoy it's stupidity.
