What a lovely story about a boy and his pet, WOW what a pet it was. This is a great story for children and parents alike, It shows how difficult it was during the was years and how the family pulled together to survive. I have a 7 year old son and we both throughly enjoyed this movie.

Great for the kids! Totally awesomely cute creature effects early on but later CGI in the movie as the creature gets larger lacked a realistic feel to it! Good story will keep kids interested! Not bad for adults either..some escapism involved, but not bad!

One of the best children's movies, with enough going on among the adults in the film to give it some heart and substance. Fabulous acting from the whole cast, and great effects. The British do this so well - nothing sacharine or mushy about it.

Good, safe, fun family viewing. Perhaps not as good as Loch Ness, but still very enjoyable.

Three and a half wonderful stars for this children's fantasy. How wonderful to see brilliant actors like Emily Watson involve themselves with family friendly fare. Thoroughly enjoyable-you'll love the baby waterhorse...we didn't want him to grow up.

It's a kid's film, so there wasn't a great deal in it for us. Must say that the quality of the CGi was good, as many others have mentioned. It certainly left some other big budget flicks (Hulk) for dead as far as CGI goes. A good one for youngsters but not too young as someparts mught be a bit noisy and scary for wee toddlers.

Loved this movie! I too hope that there are still some creatures like that out there and that mankind finally gets around to admire the wonders of this world instead of destroying them

I absolutely loved this movie. My husband and 14 year old enjoyed it as well. The story was a lovely tale - totally believable. The filming was gorgeous too. I just hope that there a plenty more Crusoues out there. I want to go there now and look for myself.

What a brilliant movie. Directors/Producers should make a lot more like this. Beautiful scenery with the waterhorse seemingly as part of the scene, where some movies have the animation (computer graphics) plopped on top of the scene so it does not look real. This was very well done, and it is one I would love to see again in the future. The kid in me still hopes there is a Nessie the Lochness out there somewhere that is so intelligent not to be seen and a lot smarter knowing what humans are like, not to allow himself or herself to be caught. I recommend this movie to any family and even the teenagers will like this one.
