The 11th century sees the tribal wars devastate the ancient lands of Russia. The woods, roads and rivers are invaded by brigands who live on a slave trade. They sell their prey to fierce Khazar tribes. Young prince Yaroslav decides to put an end to raids and barbarism, to stop hostility between the tribes and unite the lands under his reign.

Subtitled, which doesn't bother me too much, but was a surprise. Gritty and realistic. Interesting and not badly put together and acted. Even has a little twist :)

I speak Russian fluently, and love a good Russian movie, when I see one. This one is AWFUL. Don't waste your time. I regret wasting 30 minutes of mine.

Did not realize this had subtitles. Subtitled movies should be more prominent with a second selection criteria.

I didn't realize that it was a sub-titled movie which put me right off it. I watched it for about 40 minutes but couldn't really get involved in the story.
