Strong horror violence, blood and gore

Director: David Keating
Actors: Aidan Gillen, Eva Birthistle, Timothy Spall, Ruth McCabe

The village of Wake Wood in rural Ireland has preserved a tradition which enables its inhabitants to bring a person back from the dead for three days one year after their death in order to say a final farewell to their loved ones before they make their final journey to the spirit world. Patrick and Louise Daly have come to Wake Wood to take over the veterinary practice. They are relocating from the city to recover from the tragic death of their daughter. The couple can't have another child. They discover the ritual. Patrick and Louise ask if the villagers might bring their child back. The villagers agree to help but remind them that they can only have her back for three days and then she must return to the world of the dead. Patrick and Louise accept the rules but when their child returns they decide to keep her and break their agreement. The couple pay a terrible price for this transgression.

An interesting updating of Pet Cematay with a seasoning of the wicker man thrown in. If this is Hammers new work its gonna be promising of whats to come.

An okay watch, if you don't have high expectations. Kind of a rip off of Pet Semetary

A bit of a hit and miss affair with a low budget but surprisingly quality cast. The nods to the original Hammer studio films are evident and while there is a sense of lost opportunity here, it's worth a watch for horror buffs.

This was a rather odd movie, which started slow and I cant say I liked it that much. What I didn't like was the way the animals were treated. Nasty stuff. Don't think I would watch this one again.

This movie was a low budget shocker. Why do they even let you hire something like this? It should come with a money back guarantee.

The principle behind the plot is certainly not new and has been done in numerous formats in numerous films, however it was a good watch.

maybe.............maybe not! alot trying to be said (but lacking content), acting could do with some more 'acting classes'. All in all i spose watchable, but don't expect much!!
