Based on the true story of a courageous and intrepid Irish journalist, Veronica Guerin. It shows what one individual is able to achieve - but at what cost?

She was one gutsy lady who did make a difference. Very tragic though.

Cate Blanchett's ability to adapt to a range of characters is remarkable. She has done true justice to the bravery of this honest woman. The film is well directed, and quite dark, but well worth viewing.

Another outstanding performance by the great Cate Blanchett. A strong supporting cast and a compelling true story make for a terrific movie, I am surprized it didn't do better at the box office and the Oscars.

Kate Blanchett is brilliant in this movie, a disturbing true story about a courageous journalist to brave for her own good. Good to see her death was not wasted as justice prevailed in the end but such a cost. Extra's were a highlight seeing the real person. Highly recommended

It draws you in right from the start and leaves you there (no boring bits, no slow pace). I was completely engaged in the movie all the way through. Not a feel good movie but an important yet disturbing depiction of organised crime and parts of Ireland in the mid 1990s.

Blachett is a great actress. She picks good story lines. Like all Irish based plots, sad and dreary but as far as I can tell, that was life in Ireland...

Cate Blanchett was fantastic as usual! She's almost unrecognisable from one film role to another and this movie is no exception. I found this a very moving story and it opened my eyes to the dangers journalists can face to get us the full story.

the end was a disappointment, but overall it was ok. I expected a bit more I suppose, but other than Gerard McSorley the performances were kind of pedestrian

Bordering on a documentary, the treatment of this subject, based as it was in fact, was extremely respectful of the person being depicted, even uncritical. Nevertheless, a powerful film.

I love IRA/Irish Crime movies. This was interesting as it was based on a true story however just seemed to lack a "knockout punch".I wonder how good it could have been if it had been directed by an Irish director.
