Strong themes, violence and coarse language

Director: Michael Adante
Actors: Carolyn Bock, Cassandra Magrath, Jan Frazier, Chloe Guymer, Damon Hunter, Stephen Carracher

Inspired by true events, Vanished is an astonishing thriller that asks how far would a parent go for revenge. For Caterina Hill, every parent's nightmare becomes a reality when her five year old son Caleb disappears, the victim of a suspected abduction. No trace and no sign of Caleb has ever been found. Three years later, another child (eight-year-old Emily) is abducted in similar circumstances. Her parents are thrown into turmoil, when unexpectedly, contact is made by the kidnapper. But this is no ordinary abduction. The shocking truth that links these two cases will be uncovered, and a devestating secret will unravel with violent and unpredicatable consequences.

I would not bother. Showed promise in the beginning and went down hill painfully and slowly.

Weird...have no idea what it was about...hoped there would be some explanation at end or in extras but no. Not my idea of a thriller...more horror

An interesting story that is let down by a very unbelievable ending ! Supposedly based on true events, but it comes across as a rather weak story about a Demon. 3 Stars for the first 60 minutes, and then it's all downhill.

Flat out one of the worst movies I have ever seen, but a great reinforcement to the idea that 99% off all Australian movies are garbage. It looks like a film school student's effort but with worse acting. Wish I had read these reviews before giving it a chance. Also contains some very disturbing scenes depicting children being harmed with no subtlety. Hope the director finds a new career, as this is not a great sign of any talent.

dont waste your time - too jumpy not well written story line, could have been better if this was based on a true story

I thoroughly related to this movie, if you are a parent or were a parent I am sure one can relate to this movie and just how far this woman would go, the acting could have been better but the story / plot great, would watch again

I wolud have thought that after 100 years of making movies we would be at the top of our game but sadly Australian movie making has gone backwards, 90 minutes of my life I'll never get back.

If you have any respect for the Australian film industry... do not watch this movie. It may do irreparable damage to that respect! Best to just pretend it never happened...

This movie started out in a rather promising way. I was impressed at first. But then it all turned to utter rubbish. The acting was frankly embarrassing. I was hoping for some kind of sinister connection with the two child abductions that involved real people and motives - but it all descended into ridiculous demon-themed escapade. The acting just got worse as the ridiculous plot rolled on. Do not waste your time.

This movie was really quite bad. The first half was ok, but then it went downhill. The storyline was illogical; many parts were either irrelevant or made no sense. The acting was really lame towards the end. Part of the movie was stolen from a YouTube channel (the Shirley Stuart murderer etc) - how unoriginal. This is the kind of movie I'd expect some highschool AV students to think up.. except that would probably be better.

Really bad movie, the whole story was good but just didn't work, it started alright but as it went on kept getting worse to the point of being annoying, I wouldn't suggest to watch.

I didnt know this was an Aussie film when I added it. Being a fan of the horror suspense genre I often give indie flicks a go as you never know what tacky gem you will find, This film is ok. Not great. The acting is an ok effort, the story line a bit interesting but only towards the end.... which is a bit sh*t... but still it really poses the question about real life murders where people say 'it wasnt them', people who say they were ' taken over by the devil' ... or were they?
