Awful! Why is it the movie that have the ''biggest'' actors/actresses turn out to be terrible films?? There was waaayyy to many separate story lines so you couldn't connect with the characters. I was very disappointed in this movie
What a load of rubbish this is.Nuff said.
Garry Marshall obviously put the call out to get some favours returned because I can't explain how he got such a big cast otherwise. Dull, dreary dialogue and a wafer thin story combine to give this movie all the depth of a Hallmark card.
Lots of fun to watch. Lots of famous people. Laughs a love. Good to watch on a rainy afternoon.
sweet romantic. easy to watch and enjoyable
easy to watch was very good
I normally hate rom coms because of their weak female characters but this movie is so sweet and makes me all warm and fuzzy inside ::)
What a disappointingly mundane and clichéd movie. They've pulled together a group of (out of work?) B graders who look pretty together but they haven't checked for any actual spark between the characters. Could have been one of those lightly relaxing and enjoyable romantic comedies, but has totally missed the mark.
so boring and predictable, I actually fast forwarded big chunks just to see it through
One of the most boring films I have ever seen.
BORING!!! BORING!!!! BORING!!!!
What a waste of time.
Not Funny.
Drawn out.
BORING!!!!!
The rom com is the much maligned genre in the film world - but ya know what... The really great ones - Tootsie, When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle - are tough to write without an overload of corn. Well this movie, has its fair share of corn (it's a Valentine's Day flick for goodness sake) - however it has well observed likeable characters, good stories and lots of beautiful people saying smart things (for a change). You may need to suspend your disbelief just a little however... this is Hollywood after all.
I had high expectations for this and the movie just didn't anywhere meet them. I was thinking along the lines of a movie like Love Actually and it wasn't. Not sure what went wrong with it really. Not awful, just disappointing.
Love a good chick flick - this was o.k -
About 10mins after it started I realised I'd seen this movie before, but didn't mind watching it again. A lot of stars, which, with a few exceptions, weren't in it too much. Enjoyable but a bit too much jumping between the stories. As others have said, not as good as Love Actually.
Great big cast but not nearly as good as other movies with big casts like Love Actually. We had high expectations and that was what went wrong.
After reading some of the reviews here I wasn't sure about this one BUT we loved it. . . . if you just accept it for what it is a light hearted fun filled romantic story you will enjoy it very much. It reminded me of 'Love Actually' not in storyline but with several stories/characters that all join up/interact with each other, great ending with everyone living 'happily ever after'. I did watch it a second time (as I did with Love Actually also) to get all the characters lined up.
Along the lines of Love Actually but not nearly as good. Enjoyable and some good characters but realised I'd seen it before and it was a bit boring to watch again.
plot was ok typical cheesy romance that you would expect, but really poor character development, too many big name actors and not enough substance, i was pretty bored by it, chemistry between couples was very poor.
Is like a show that keeps throwing in well know stars with weak story.
Great movie, with alot of very good actors. Wonderful how all the people in the movie are conected in some way and keeps you guessing right up to the end.
Glad to have seen it but was a little disappointed after all the hype in saying that though, it was good just not as good as they hype for me
Although a chick flick, had so many funny moments, even my husband was laughing
it's an american version of Love Actually, but nearly as good. I think the last 10 minutes really made this movie.
I'm a hopeless romantic, and I enjoyed all the different storylines that were in this movie, with so many big name actors in it, I was surprised that it wasn't too many storylines!
Great movie to watch this coming Valentines Day with your loved one without it being too mushy!
What a great movie! I really enjoyed this. It was romantic without being too soppy, although I shed a few tears towards the end!
Nice romantic comedy not sure I would watch over again but happy to have seen it.
Love it. Great and varied cast. Love a movie with so much going on and keeps you hanging to find out how it will all end. Cant wait for 'NYE'
I'm a sucker for romance so naturally I loved it. Loved the ending, got a few laughs and loved the out takes during the credits. Great rainy day movie.
Was a great laugh really enjoyed. good eye candy!
Much better than I expected. I love the way the characters cross paths. The last half hour is great!
Very boring so don't bother. Doesn't matter how many stars there are this is utterly boring and doesn't go anywhere.
Wasn't too bad. The Americans always stuff it up when they remake British Movies, but this one was just as good, dare I say better than Love, Actually. Not that thats difficult to do.
Pretty predictable, a movie for when you don't feel like thinking.
Not bad, had a few laughs.
A little movie very light on content only just okay.
This movie was very enjoyable, it wasn't your typical girlie movie l would rate this movie three and half stars.
Pleasantly surprised as I am not a fan of Ashton Kutcher, but all the other stars made up for it. Intertwined stories about love and living.
I enjoyed this movie. It was light entertainment, that I didn't have to think about. Perfect for when you have a couple of hours to kill.
I liked the way the different stories intertwined. The mix of comedy, friendship, and different lifestyles kept you interested, with a twist and a happy ending.
*Shrugs* Meh. It was cute. A nice little watch for a rainy Sunday afternoon. Lots of reasonably accomplished actors/actresses coming together to make an average and mildy funny movie. I give it 4/10.
This is a poorman's LOVE ACTUALLY. such a waste of talent of so many quality actors. A series of very weak love stories or plots revolving around a Florist. Could have been a good chick/ flick rom/com but for the weak script and lack of depth. Only a reasonable night's entertainment.
Just a nice feel good movie, nothing you have to think about. Easy to watch Chick Flick!
out of all the movies, i did not like Valentine's day, was all over the place. so no stars fre that one,
Lovely ending to a lovely movie, owever, maybe some more funnies would have been ok.....
Valentines Day has a lot of feature stars, all with very minor roles.
All stories intertwine, so it is interesting to see how each character fairs.
Taylor Swifts appearance is the winner for laughs in this one.
VD is the type of movie that you can go off and do other things, and come back and still understand what has happened.
a typical hollywood movie with a truck load of stars in it. Light and fun to watch.
slightly confusing as they start introducing all the characters, but by the time its finishing you are totally into each individual character and like "oh wow!" when their stories start matching up towards the end.
This was a really great feel good girly chick flick! My husband left the room as it was no interest to him but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
So many big name actors! I enjoyed the movie, there were a few surprises, and the end brought a tear to my eye. A good chick flick, but not one I could watch over and over again.
Enjoyed this movie. Great that there is no swearing.
I loved this movie it was a real feel good movie. I loved how the ending worked out.
US imitation of Love Actually.
The stories do not interwine aswell as Love Actually and honestly expected more from this star studded cast.
Ashton Kutcher has proven why he lives off Demi Moore.
Worth a watch, but not to rave about.
This was such a hoot.....fun and love...so many good actors in it too. Not just a chick flick, anyone could enjoy this movie.
Friends have said they enjoyed this movie, but I was not greatly impressed
I LOVED this movie. It was a complete surprise - I thought it would be just OK but thoroughly enjoyed it. I didn't think it was disjointed at all and I thought the characters worked well together. Highly recommeded!
i loved this movie it made me smlie the whole way thought it
This a good, feel-good film, very romantic, and probably schmaltzy in a lot of people's eyes. What left a bad taste in my mouth was that of all the adult couples in this film, only the gay male couple didn't get to kiss. Typical Hollywood!!!
Very Similar to Love Actually ..with the different story lines. But some classic one liners! And the cast is star studded. Quite entertaining! Very good for a light laugh!
Not nearly as good as previous romantic comedies...eg Love Actually...lots of stars to look at but the story was all over the place and didn't quite come together...
Its terrible!!! Schmaltzy, predictable and completely silly!!! Does not compare with Love Actually which was funny, clever and well balanced in the way that the stories intertwined... i really wanted to like this film as it has so many of my fav actors in it but its terrible.. taylor and taylor are the worst!! And i love them both so much!!!! oh well....
"Love Actually" without the heart, and British understated humour.
Cast is amazing on this movie, however felt like I had seen it all before. Similar to Love Actually in many ways, but has its own feel to it. Quite funny and I highly recommend.
Great lineup of really fantastic actors - I enjoyed it but it was very predictable - a great "chick flick."
Thoroughly enjoyed this movie - a bit of everything and a great cast. Obviously a chick flick but a good movie to chill out with - one I could watch again and perhaps again!
Enjoyable. All the connections between people was interesting.
a very funny movie alot of love storys are very predictable but not this one it had me guessing all the way, a very unexpected ending
Great humor, great for a laugh on a lazy Sunday etc. Super that Julia Roberts does not fall in and out of love in this one!!
This movie kind of dragged out and I felt like I'd seen it all before.
Very entertaining with a terrific cast (perhaps a bit overloaded with "stars") but I did enjoy it.
Totally disagree with other comments - WAY better than Love Actually in my opinion. Never been a big fan of Love Actually as an entire movie, although there are certain storylines within it that I loved (especially the Hugh Grant one where he is caught dancing in his boxers!!!) However, as a whole I thought Valentine's Day was so much more enjoyable, less crass, less annoying ... just a great movie! So I say, just cos some people didn't like it so much , don't assume you won't, especially if you're like me and didn't really like Love Actually
Ok but not nearly as good as Love Actually !!!
Not as good as Love Actually but a fun and light hearted watch packed with Hollywood stars !
A sweet, sweet movie. Schmaltz, of course, but 22-carat, top-of-the-range, grade-A schmaltz. Lots of likeable characters, delightful humour of the laugh-with rather than the laugh-at variety, and a multilayered story which never unravels into confusion. And one classic memorable and rather moving movie moment where an aged and rather absurdly dressed Shirley Maclaine is backlit by her own much younger beautiful face in black and white from an outdoor screen. Lovely stuff - four and a half stars.
Abysmal - very disappointing - contrived and unconvincing
A fluffy fun movie that showed how ridiculous things can get on Valentine's Day.
Good cast, shame about the movie.
One of the worst movies i've seen... i would descride it as a "nothing" movie..lots of famous faces which made it feel like the movie was made up of a bunch of cameo appearances. Too much fluff.
A light enteraining movie, if you want something to entertain and not have to think this is great for that !!!
Predictable but enjoyable rom com that showcased a lot of actors, although I did like the one "twist'. I would recommend this movie to anyone wanting a light comedy - especially the ladies.
An ok movie but nothing special. Nothing really happened! Good actors but not such a good story. Reminded me of Love Actually but not nearly as good.
Very ordinary rom com. The star gazing was the only redeeming factor but pretty much completely wasted use of talent for most parts. A very poor, try hard attempt to copy Love Actually.
The worst movie i had ever seen. Its a waste of time.
I enjoyed this movie. Yes its not very deep and its fairly predictable but if you like feel good rom coms then this fits the bill.
Just because all the big stars are in the movie doesn't mean it'll be a great movie it's quite ordinary love stories
i love it, i saw it at the movies so i borrowed it to watch again and i still enjoyed it
Another tedious cliche of a romcom. There are too many storylines to follow, too little time to get particularly attached to any of the characters, and you can bet it all ends in the most banal way possible.
I don't know which part of this movie is the most tedious - the contrived plotlines, the predictable characters, or the seriously bizarre morality -- like the teens who decide to wait because planning for sex would be somehow wrong, it should just magically happen. Or the guy who is totally offended when he finds out the girl he's dating is a phone sex 'entertainer', but decides to put up with it because "you take the bad with the good" (her job apparently being something awful about her he needs to tolerate). Or perhaps it was the way said phone sex 'entertainer' takes calls at work, in the middle of dinner, in fact pretty much anywhere. Then again, we also have the fact that all except for two characters are white, and the token black characters are all sassy and cool, and willing to teach the white people how to be cool, because hey, that's what black people in movies do.
I'm giving this movie one star because despite all its obvious failings I was able to watch it right to the end. It is somewhat rescued by a few of the actors who pull off tolerable performances despite the bland dialogue and one dimensional characters they were given to work with. The best part of the movie is definitely the bloopers during the credits, where Julia Roberts gives a sly reference to Pretty Woman.
And hey, if you enjoy romcoms and go into it without high expectations, it's certainly a decent way to pass an hour and a half.
Really enjoyed this. Great mixture of sad, happy, fun and contemplative. Some of it is predictable but there are also a few surprises! Not just a chick flick! Fun for all. :-)
Great film, with loads of great actors. A little cheesy, but worth a watch.
