Loved it !!!
I'm *IN* for the series :)
Maybe I'm a tween girl trapped in a thirtween year old man's body O.O
This is a truly terrible film and I'm really glad I've never paid to see it. I watched about 45 minutes of it on Australian telly while I was randomly channel surfing.
As I've never been a "Twi-hard" - I hadn't seen the film or the books (I have one or two friends who are fans) - but thought I would see what all the fuss was about. I'm not swayed by the toothsome charms of vampires myself. Interview With The Vampire is a better choice if you're into that sort of thing.
I probably watched about an hour of the film and it is truly appalling stuff. The leads are obviously getting paid money for nothing because I didn't see much acting going on. The script is rubbish, the special effects were uninspiring and there was just nothing in it that made me care about the characters. I personally couldn't see the appeal of the pasty, scrawny, whiny, delicate, suffering little Edward when all these other lovely cute boys were asking Bella out and crying out for her attention (though for the life of me I can't think why as she seemed so boring, lifeless and uninteresting ).
It's could list many reasons why this film is just BAD BAD BAD - but what difference will it make? Sadly I am sure the film makers, the actors and the author of the books are probably laughing all the way to the bank.
Just finished reading the books to see what all the hype was about - definately aimed at the tweens and maybe mid 20s at best! Thought I'd check the movies out - the jury is still out with Twilight... As it loosely followed the book, it lost a lot of translation along the way. Better to watch the movie beofre reading the book. Character typecast was a bit disappointing, only Taylor Lautner seemed to do a good portrayal of his character, Jacob.
I loved this movie. Had been wanting to watch this for a long time. 14yr old son wouldn't allow it in the house he thought it was a love story. Made him watch it with me, he didn't dislike or like it, wasn't what he thought it would be. My 16 yr old daughter enjoyed it, we'll watch the next one's together. Loved the song playing during the baseball game. Played it over and over in the special features. I'm a 40 somethingish married mum of 4 and now a Twilight fan.
it was good movie i loved it
Okay, so I liked the books. Quite a lot. Not to the point of obsession, but enough that I was like 'Oh cool, Twilight's here.' Yeah, thats about as enthusiastic as I get. Anyway, I watched it once, because I thought it was good, and I liked the storyline. I watched it again, a few days later (I was bored, okay?) and I realised 'Wow. This kinda sucks.' Honestly, I blame it on the directing. Katherine Hardwicke, not the best director out there. The special effects could've been better, too. It looks like they just got the 'vampires' to run normally and then fast forward(ed?) it. Honestly, I'm not sure why the rest of it was so bad. Again, I think it comes back to the directing. I think most directors just have something that brings a certain story to life. And whatever it is, I just don't think Katherine Hardwicke has. I think Kristen Stewart plays the part of Bella Swan well, but mainly just because she seems to have the same characteristics as Bella in real life. Oh, and also when Bella walks into biology, Edward (or Robert Pattinson, whatever you wanna call him) looks like he's sucking on a lemon. Just saying.
This was an excellent movie with a very powerful story.
Pretty straight forward tale of how dangerous it is to love a vampire, which harkens back to Interview with a Vampire, Angel, Near Dark and even a bit Hammer Horror in places. I loved the climbing trees scenes, which show a hint of Chinese movie ancestry in general and remind me specifically of the bamboo scene in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Also, the drumming music was pretty amazing and maintained the tension well. It's a little unbelievable in parts. Why would he really want her to grow old and die when he can make her immortal? It's already established that the family of vampires he belongs to drink animal blood, so what's the big deal? Yes, so that there can be a sequel with interesting conflict. Unfortunately, I think there should be a better reason, but moving right along. Ok, it's all a bit cheesy (those would be the Hammer Horror bits) and mostly for teenage girls, but I enjoyed it and so did my (male) partner. How can you resist that 'I love you in a tortured kind of way' thing? Well, ok - I can see that some people might - it was all a bit silly. For teenage girls in general, people who liked Interview with a Vampire will probably like this. Vampire movie fans should probably see it and make up their own minds. Action fans: it gets very slow at points.
Definitly aimed at the teenage girl, with a little action to make the boy pay for the ticket... Lots of sensual innuendo... lots of dragged out scenes.... I dont know why the girls swoon over a guy that is sickly pale, has a Elvis Presley hairdo (but too untidy), and talk like he is in slow motion.... but hey that kiss in the neck... I have to practice that :)
The action scenes where excellent, but not enough...
For the teenage market: ideal, for me: not enough of one and tomuch of another
still, I watched t till the end, so worth something.
Good, average teenage stuff. Too many characters and plot events brushed over. No interest in the sequels.
I finally gave in and had a look at this one. I must admit I don't like Kristen Stewart. There's really not much to it if you're over 12.
As a mum with young kids, I don't think I quite match the target market for this movie - but I absolutely loooveeed it and can't wait to see the next one! Now I know what those younger girls at work have been raving about!
Loved it canot wait for next insulment.
I loved the movie, enjoyed every second of it - love all that fantasy stuff - and Robert Pattison is so easy on the eyes!! However - I have a major complaint, the state of the DVD, it froze 4 times, and I had to take it off and give it a really good clean. I don't want to be sent DVD's in that state, please, it ruined the whole movie for me.
I would have given it 5 stars, but have to take off one for the state of the DVD itself.
Liked it a lot but the movie (of curse doesn't compare to the book). Some good acting and geat scenery.
Having heard so much about this I expected more. I can't quite understand why it is so popular but maybe the next one will be better? It was a shame the DVD was slightly damaged as it spoiled the mood.
sooooo i really really didnt want to like this movie...i avoided watching it as a statement...but omg i LOVED it...i didnt want it to end!!!so engaging, would definitely recommend this movie to anyone and cant wait to see the second film!
I have held off watching any of the Twilight saga movies, but as I am home sick I thought why not take a look. I was pleasantly suprised. The film was engaging, and kept me watching to the end. I can say I enjoyed the film, perfect if you are in the mood for something where you can just watch and not have to think, or spend hours "analysing" the film afterwards. We all need films like this once in a while!
Unreal. This serie had been recomended to me and here it was delivered to my door, Fantastic. You guys have really nailed my love of films. Things of yesteryear, all the wars, the vampire stuff, the Kings and Queens and Knights jousting, sword play and battles. Gladiators and barbarians, keep them coming fellas' - super stuff.
one to watch. I loved it.
I think it is a great movie but i feel the book it a little better
not bad movie. its easy to see why the girls love edward but prob not one for the lads unless its for a date movie.
Surprisingly enjoyable. With all the Twi-fever I was afraid it would be very teen movie but it was good. Very different story and great direction.
After watching this it made me realise what all the younger people were getting so excited about. I am a pensioner and totally enjoyed the movie, all i can say is, all you parents out there grab a copy and sit down with you kids and you'll have a great night, better still get both movies and treat yourself to a great night in with the family.Don't forget the popcorn.
I really enjoyed this - teen flick/vampires - but very entertaining.
My kids liked this better than me. I thought it needed a bit more oomph! A good teen flick if you are into vampires and werewolves
Was an easy to watch movie and we would probably watch the sequel.
i get why teenagers love this. full of angst.
A vampire love story why hasn't any one done it before? Sarcasm aside spent much of the film daydreaming about my first love. To be able to evoke such ancient memories makes this love story a success.
LOVED IT! May not be the best made movie around but the characters and story get you in! A combination of supernatural, teenage romance, fun, drama, and love triangle! Totally hooked on the books and the movie is a really good interpretation. Can't wait for the next chapters!
Terrible. I've read the books and the best thing about the movie is that it is exactly like the book. I can see the teen appeal but it's just not for me.
love this I can watch it over and over again.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
after the all the hype i finally sat down and watched this movie not expecting too much, although the effects weren't all that good it was fairly enjoyable movie if you are under maybe the age of 25 and are female, my partner refused to watch it with me haha.
This is Brilliant. Its a 21st century vampire movie. I thought it would of been just another typical vamp movie but suprisingly suprised, I couldnt take my eyes of it. I cant wait to see the sequel. Its a must see movie.
Absolutely brilliant! The best movie I've seen in a very long time! I could watch this over and over.
Being a 33 years old woman, I was worried this movie would be too "teeny boppy" for me. How wrong I was! I absolutely loved it! The chemistry between the two leads is diabolic! A must for the romantics. Looking forward to the sequel.
Kept me interested from start to finish. Unexpected story line (I hadn't read the books). Looking forward to seeing the next one.
I can't understand what all the hype was about. This is the worst movie I have seen in ages. With all the movie making technology available to us today, why do all the 'vampires' have such baaaaad make-up jobs? And apparently nothing we previously believed about vampires is true, not only do they not turn to dust in the sunlight, they actually sparkle prettily. Bad acting, really bad make-up and no story to follow. Don't waste your time.
Amazingly disappointing...I always thought that the first movies in a series were the strong ones but this was so weak, implausible and insipid in its characterisation that it's a wonder that the sequels eventuated. It's not even a thrilling storyline unless you hang out for the last 10 minutes and drop-dead gorgeous 'he' is not ...sorry girls, but what's with the lippy?
Stick to the books 'cos seeing is NOT believing!
Read the book, and this movie absolutely pales in comparison.
You might argue it's a bit of a girly movie, but surprisingly I really liked it! The sharpness and colors with which it has been filmed are just fantastic, really nice scenery. Story is alright. I hope there will be a part 2 cause they really leave you thinking -and now what?
Oh dear!! We took out this film to see what all the fuss is about. Well! In our over 50 years of age opinion, it just wasn't worth the effort - in fact, we gave up about two thirds of the way through. We felt it was badly acted, badly written, and very poorly made. Some of the cgi scenes were quite laughable! It is possible for films to be made for both young and not so young - the Harry Potter series for example. We must say, Twilight, in our opinion did not live up to the hype!!!!
Twilight, and celebrated lead actors - Pattinson
only viewed it due to the "hype" but I too LOVED it! As others have said I was interested the whole movie.
Not as good as I was expecting it to be. I have read the Twilight series and I guess that meant I was expecting something better.
Firstly I need to say this is my first time (vampire movie) I wanted to see what all the fuss was about but found ???the earth did not move for me???! Maybe I am too old now and should have tried the experience much earlier. The scenery & special effects were the best part but the movie was so slow with little climax, I found the whole experience uneventful. Summing up what a total waste of 2 hours, I kept waiting for it to get better but it didn???t??????????????????. Sorry about that poor attempt at humour!! . If you are a ???baby boomer??? don???t bother, a lot to do about nothing, I think this whole vampire thing sucks.
stephanie meyer is a terrible writer, reading the first page of twilight was like reading a childrens book,
the movie is no better. it seems that stephanie has taken little bits and pieces from every vampire story made.
everyone i know isnt raving about the story line or the love story, they are talking about edward and how they wish they were in bellas position.
the love story is basiclly the love story in buffy.
All the males that i know hate the movie/movies
Too sum it up its buffy, true blood and the lost boys.
its terrible in how the story line was produced its terrible in how none of the people actually acted and it was just the love story no storyline to it whatsoever.
it is just terrible in eveery single detail there is
ummm......let's see... mum also told me if I had nothing good to say I should just stay quiet......
Quiet I shall stay...
I have been told that you need to read the book, but as I have difficultly reading the movie was the next best option.
Twilight draws you in and build as the film progresses, as far as vampier movies goes this one is so left of centre that you don't realy realise that it is infact a vampire movie. For some one that was not realy interested in seeing Twilight in the first place this film captivated me and I would highly recommend it.
Didn't expect to but very much enjoyed this film. Forget all the hype from the movie and just watch it as a good romantic drama. I enjoyed the chemistry between Bella and Edward and thought the story line was very good. Recommend to all and will look forward to seeing the next one!
loved it. Can see why all the teenages are obsessed with it.
What a terrible movie! Although to be honest I was not a fan of the book either. I could never tell if the conversation between the 2 main characters was supposed to be so stilted or it if was just bad acting. If it was supposed to be that way was it necessary to be so for the entire movie? I found it to be a whole lot of boring right up until the end where it was just a little less boring.
I must admit that I`m not really into vampire type movies but....this was THE BEST movie I have ever seen!!!!WOW!!! I cant even think of a movie that would be better than this that I have watched over the past 3 years.I definately cant wait for the New Moon one next.
Enjoyed every minute of it - Robert Pattinson is captivating. Great movie - recommend to all.
I could have walked out of this movie at any stage with no regrets and no desires to find out how it finished. I don't see what all the fuss is about.
Maybe it's because I'm a man or maybe it's because I havn't read the books... I have no plans to change either.
I'm a 59 yr old lady, and I was quite fascinated. Held my interest throughout. So all you people my age, it's not just a teen flick (or maybe I'm still a kid). Enjoyned immensely.
Vampire flick for teens. Heaps of cliches, bad acting and I wasn't very impressed with the SFX. When Edward runs with Bella on his back through the forest, looks cheap and funny like the rest of the jump btw. The whitey faces look too funny. The father is as white as Casper! Wait until it's on free TV.
Mildly entertaining though the 2 leads did spend * a lot* of time intensely staring at each other in a weird kinda way ...
A fresh take on the usual vampire genre with plenty of room for sequels and unabashed media-marketing-hype.
Nothing to write home about.
A good movie, but not as good as all the hype has lead me to believe.. Hoping the other movies get better as they inevitably come out. Some good performances by the lead actors though.
A good teen movie to watch on a quiet Sunday afternoon. Not demanding, mildly entertaining, just the right amount of teen angst and sexual tension. I haven't read the book and have no desire to.
What was all the hype about? As far as vampire movies go this was pretty average. The plot was, well there was no plot really. The acting, well let's just say it was not great, in fact in a couple of places I laughed at the over-dramatic acting and that's saying something for a vampire film. Even the soundtrack seemed mismatched and even noticeably absent in places. I have to say I was pretty dissapointed and seeing how it took Bigpond 8 months to get this over-rated movie to my door it was a total waste of time. If you are a female tween who just wants to watch a bit of eye candy in the male lead of Robert Pattison then this is the flick for you, if you are a fan of the vampire genre then this definitely aint for you.
I loved the books, and thought this was poor in comparison. The actors seemed to look constipated, rather than ethereal and haunting. I turned it off and didn't finish watching it.
A pretty tame Vampire story. I'd say the target audience is the 10-16 years olds - for them I'd rate it 4 stars. In the same genre, but for a much more mature audience I'd recommend the True Blood series. I liked Twilight but it lacks substance and reality. Do yourself a favour and upgrade to True Blood.
I can see why teenage girls like it...
Expected it to be a tennage chick flick, but LOVED IT! Can't wait to see New Moon now!
Great little movie and exactly how it was portrayed in the book. Loved it.
Teen chick flick stuff - terrible
One of the worst movies I have seen. Poor acting, unintersting story line. And I have to say I don't get what is so hot about any of the actors in this movie. I expected a lot more from the hype I have heard about this movie. The books must be better!
From the first few seconds of the opening scene to the end ... you are taken on an incredible journey that just happens to be a love story ... bring on New Moon ... can't wait!!!
As another person who hates the simplicity of knowing vampire movies, i was taken by suprise. This isnt just about feeding on humans. Great movie but i must say the books are way better and more detailed. Cant wait for new moon
One for the younger teen audience but still very watchable.
I dont really find Robert Pattinson "hot" at all (or any other pale skinned emo looking men for that matter!) so I am probably one of the last people to see this movie but it was actually better than I expected. It was totally different to what I was expecting and not as "dark" as most vampire movies tend to be. There arent many good vampire movies with good storylines out there and now I am looking forward to watching the next instalment! One thing I will say though is that they have changed some of the "rules of vampires"... you know the whole cant go in sunlight and have no reflection etc but it wasnt in a bad way!
This movie is a must see, especially after there are so many versions of vampires and many takes on how they live and what can kill them, it is amazing to watch all different story lines of different vampire movies. This one is one of my favourite as I have watched it a few times and cannot wait to watch the sequeal to it. What amazed me was the makeup on the actors especially edward as the makeup really made him look like a vampire but not disguisting like as you still thought he was cute and can he take you in his arms like that. The acting between these 2 lead stars were incredible, you could actually feel the sexual tension in most scenes which was a trait most legendary actors cannot achieve in their films.
I give this move 5 stars and definately buy it and watch it over and over again.
Very enjoyable new take on the Vampire mythos. The film brilliantly realized all the awkwardness of being a teenager.
And what a sublime male lead - a brooding hunk of a vampire!
didnt love this one. Was ok but was weird.
The makers of these movies ceases to amaze me, great scenes, well played I felt.
Well worth watching
Probably the most amusing film I've seen all year. So bad it was laugh out loud funny.
This is a something teenagers would probably enjoy more than adults as it has that young innocence of falling in love sense to it. I am no fan of vampire movies but combined with a love story, I guess it provides for interesting entertainment.
loved every minute of it.....
After all the hype I thought this movie would be pretty good. How wrong I was. The first half of the movie in unbelievably dull, the special effects and acting are average at best. I just don't see the appeal.
Do yourself a favour and watch 'Lost Boys' instead, now that's a vampire movie.
I liked it. Always prefer the book of any movie/book so can't really judge on that basis. But I thought it was a pretty decent interpretation. As a teenage girl, I must say, I love you Jacob.
I loved this movie, all the charactars are fantastic and I feel in love with them all. I now can not wait to see the next movie in the Twilight saga, New moon. I do recommened that this is one movie you will want to see this year and wont be disapointed. I didnt want to send this movie back I wanted to watch it again and again!!! Two thumbs up for Twilight.......
twilight was awesome kept me interested all the way cant wait for the next
Not so good. Read the book. I hoped for so much more from this movie and didn't feel all this amazing chemistry I had anticipated.
Not bad. A bit silly. Worth watching if you like vampire films.
Would have liked to see the movie flesh out (pun intended) more of the emotional content of the book. I had a real emotional reaction to the book and this is my only gripe with the movie...apart from it being too short (another 30 mins would have been great). Having said that, the movie is very good. I don't quite "get" the whole "Robsten" thing but they certainly have chemistry and I liked the actors/roles of Edward's family. Looking forward to seeing the next movie.
A great watch, very well made
Surprisingly good. More of a cute love story than a vampire movie.
Terrible acting! It was watchable, but nothing to rave about. Can't see what all the fuss is about.
This movie is OK. It's not the life changing experience some people have raved about. It's certainly watchable and well acted. I guess I am just a bit over (or to old) to get completely absorbed in the teen angst angle. If I watch a vampire movie I like blood
Not as good as the book
I'm definitely no teenager, but I really enjoyed this movie. I think there's enough here for teenagers and adults to enjoy.
I haven't read any of the books, and I was a skeptic, so I think it's testament to the direction and storytelling that I found this movie highly entertaining, especially at my age (well over 40).
I find myself inexplicably looking forward to the next installment !
I absolutely ADORED the book. I was a bit disappointed with the movie. Maybe it was because I had such great expectations from the book? I'm not saying the movie was bad, I just didn't get as excited watching it as I did when reading the book. At least the movie is like the book, unlike some other movies that are based on books.
I absolutely love this movie!!!
I have seen it 4 times now and I still could watch it again and again. It's such a nice love story and Edward is just absolutely hot.
I can't wait for New Moon is coming out.
This would have to be the worst vampire movie ever NOTHING HAPPENS apart from me going in shock that this movie was so huge a hit .These so called vampires are the most pathetic wimpy things ever and as for going to school or work for that matterwhen you live forever is just sad.
ps I take back the worst vampire movie ever it the WORST MOVIE OF ANY KIND EVER TWO HOURS OF MY LIFE IM NEVER GETTING BACK and before people say why keep watching it well I was hoping anything would happen.
this movie was nowhere near as good as the book- I could have done a better job directing it would have had more in it
Brilliant movie, can't wait for the sequel to be released... Recommended to all teen vamp fans...
Surprisingly good! It starts slow, but builds quite well. Mind you, if American teenagers really are like this then I never want to go there.
Finally got to see what all the hype was about and even though I am not a teenager I did enjoy this film and got that it was a love story rather than a vampire flick. It was a enjoyable way to spend an evening.
If you don't try to over analyse this movie you will enjoy it. Who cares if its not believable thats why we watch movies to escape from reality.
Have read all the books & found the vampires to be most unimpressing. Edward supposedly stunning looked like he wanted to be sick, & their eyes instead of being amber were too dark.Film ended before the end of the story!! Hope the next one's better
I see I'm very alone in being disappointed with this movie. If I hadn't read the book, I'd pass throw this in the pile of crap teen vampire movies, with poor acting and little depth.
I know they were trying to show the vampires as looking 'alien' in some points, but the wide eyed staring just looked idiotic. Not needing to blink shouldn't mean looking like you're permanently surprised.
As a huge fan of the book, I was a little bit let down by the movie, as I didn't think it got to the heart of the story. BUT - I still liked it alot, and cannot wait for the next movie to come out - such is the power of edward and bella.
I can understand why this appealed so much to teenage girls. It's a very well done teen vampire love story. Just not my cup of tea.
I won' t be hanging out for the sequels.
"What has been seen cannot be unseen"...I wanted to tear my eyes out this was so bad. Everyone involved in this film should leave the industry - there is no hope for you. It deserves negative stars as zero would be too kind.
I am a big fan of vampire mpvies, but this one was really bad. I have no idea what the hype was all about. I know it was supposed to be for the younger ones as well. But I think that is going to be the only audience that it will entertain.
absolutely terrible movie i am not sure why my teen children are so captivated by it can only assume books are much better
I really loved it. I can understand why you wouldn't like it if you hadn't read the books or didn't like them though.
I was expecting a lot from this movie and unfortunately I was dissapointed. The books are SO much better. Hopefully the next instalment will be better. Do yourself a favour and read the books instead.
Brilliant movie. Would watch this one over many times. The chemistry between the good girl and the bad boy is quite stunning. Not to be missed and can't wait for the next installment.
Bad movie, dont bother.
Scenery was the only worthwhile part of the whole 3hours!
Brilliant. I love a good love story, esspecially when its about vampires. definatly reccomend to watch.
Hardwicke tried her utmost to stick to what Meyer had written, but with the time and budget restraints in movies, it was near on impossible to fit everything in.
This movie is an amazing adaptation of Meyers fantasy world. I adore the book's so much, but knowing that the time and money issues this movie had, I watched the DVD with a clear mind on what I was about to see. It paid off, I enjoyed every moment of the movie, just as much as I did the book's. I can't wait for November 09 for the next movie in the 'Twilight' saga.
Best movie I've seen in a long time.
I loved this and have seen about 600 times but compared to the book it was disappointing.
Kristen Stewart was definitely the stand out as Bella!
It was an okay movie, but it doesn't even compare to the books. and I have seen alot better vampire movies - can't go past The Lost Boys as the best.
I really don't get all the hype, especially regarding Robert Pattinson - hearthrob???? I don't think so, he is totally weird looking, the guy who played the vampire James is way better looking.
I was so disappointed in this movie. I was very wrapped in the books and hesitated in watching this because of the mixed reviews. I felt it sped through everything too quickly and there are so many things left unexplained. The acting was b grade and considering the success of the books, i would have thought this would have been very important to the producers. Having said all that, I do find myself wanting to watch it all over again...
OMG! If i was Bella i'd want to turn vampire too, Edward Cullen is smokin'!!!
Great movie too, already watched it twice and considering watching again!!
What an intense love story!
Over-hyped and under-delivered. With acting (and story) reminiscent of an epsiode of 'Home and Away' and zero chemistry between the two stars, I was ultimately left disappointed and wanting more. Well, of course I was left wanting more because that is exactly what is going to happen, with sequel after sequel. So there is no tension because you know everyone is going to be fine for the next instalment. Too much theatrical make-up on our fanged friends too. There were way too many plot holes too, like it takes Bella about 3 days to figure something out but her father, the local Police chief, is blissfully ignorant of the beastly goings-on in the town of Forks. He doesn't even know what happened to the can of pepper spray that he replaces for Bella! No story or character development of Jacob and the rest of the Native Americans either. Must be in the next episode...
loved it loved it loved it. have not read the books and now cant wait until I do.
Quite a good movie, albeit not the most intellectual (quite like the books), but still good. Gorgeous cast and visually pleasing. The second half of the film seems rushed, but would watch again definitely.
Usually when movies are so over hyped they usually don't live up to the hype. I don't hate this film but I strongly feel they wasted a good premise. Bella moves to a new town and falls in love with Edward who has a dark sercet. When she finds out hes a vampire he and his family must protect Bella from a rouge band of vampires who want Bella for dinner and not as a guest. The acting and characters are strong plus the two leads play their roles very well but the direction is far too much set up and bogs down in lovely dovely scenes which should had been deleted scenes and more vampire action filmed. The film is very tame for a vampire film and shows an impressive fight between two vampires but Buffy and Angel did the same thing on tv years ago and those shows had a better balance between the fight and tender scenes. I found the film very average and hopefully they will improve on the sequals.
Not the best movie.
A bit drawn out, it focuses more on the characters than the storyline.
(I haven't read the book)
I also thought this movie was over rated. I wanted to like it but thought it was quite average. The story line was slow but there was good action towards the end.
Complete garbage. This may just be the worst film ever made.
If you've read the books you'll know you'll love the movie.
Its exactly how you read it in your mind, The Cullens, James and Victoria etc etc.
The only downfall is Kristen Stewart she is so flat and one dimensional as Bella Swan. They really could have found someone better.
The writing is great, the plot flows nicely if not a little slow in the beginning. The special effects looks great and you can't help but be mesmerised by the Cullens and the actors who play them.
Here's to New Moon.
I gave it 5/5 even though Kristen Stewart does ruin it.
This movie is way overhyped. The script and acting was awful; it felt rushed, very disappointed.
I love this movie...I saw it twice at the Cinema, cant wait to watch it on DVD on our big Cinema Wall !!!
This is what this movie reminded me of, A 70s type crappy love story, the movie HAIR (from the 70s) and bad Japanese film. I have a home theater room that runs a projector for picture and I can?t believe I wasted almost 2 hours of glob life on this movie. I was really looking forward to seeing this and have never been so DISAPOINTED
this is definately one of the most overhyped movies this year, bad acting, bad dialogue, bad effects etc etc. i'm glad i didn't pay to see this rubbish
I'm in my 50s and my daughter-in-law has been raving about the books. She took me to see the movie and I loved it. I have since read the book/books. I thought the movie was very faithful to the book. It was great. Can't wait to see the next one - unfortunately I'm nearly finished reading all the books - dunno what I'm going to do when they're finished and I don't have my "fix" anymore!!
The Cullens are not your conventional bloodsuckers. No fangs, no eating humans, they sparkle in the sunlight and like to play baseball. This book to movie adaptation sensation succeeds in bringing this modern day Romeo and Juliet ?forbidden love? story to life. I really enjoyed watching the film and can?t wait to see what tricks they?ll pull to make the second one just as big. I would definitely recommend this movie (and book series) for women of all ages.
I love love loved this movie! Like most die-hard Twilight fans I have read all the books, so my opinion could be biased. Although I took some friends who hadn?t and now they want to, so I guess the film leaves you wanting to know all the ins and outs of the characters and what happens next.
You need to watch it with an open mind to all that you think you know about vampires, as they are not your conventional bloodsuckers. No fangs, no killing humans (well the bad ones do), they sparkle in the sunlight (as opposed to burning to a crisp) and they like to play baseball. So if you can look past all that to the heart of the story which is the forbidden and dangerous love between human and vampire then you should be able to appreciate the film. Because let?s face it ? who doesn?t want to believe that soul mates exist.
The special effects were really quite good considering the measly budget the filmmakers had to work with. I can?t wait to see what they do for the next one, and how they manage to keep these ?never-ageing? vampires looking the same in all the films. Bring on New Moon!
Love it, can't wait for it to be realeased on DVD so I can see it again, and hanging out for the rest to come out, hopefuly sooner then later.....LOVED IT..
