ADULT THEMES

Director: Mick Jackson
Actors: Hank Azaria, Jack Lemmon

Mitch Albom (HANK AZARIA - "Mystery Men," "Godzilla," "The Birdcage"), seems to have everything a man could want: a syndicated sports column in the newspaper and his own TV talk show ... he's at the top of his profession. Everything, that is, but a meaningful personal life.

One night while watching television, Mitch catches an interview of one of his former university professors, his favourite one in fact, Morrie Schwartz (JACK LEMMON - "Inherit The Wind," "Twelve Angry Men," "Grumpier Old Men"). Morrie is now dying and wants to spread a message to the world about the importance of living life to the fullest, which he considers to be "the last great learning experience."

Morrie's life lessons are encouraging to Mitch. He speaks of the occasional struggles one must challenge before reaching a certain level of success and happiness. And sometimes, Morrie's lessons are merely demonstrations of love. There are as simple as the old professor insisting on hugs from his physically shy friend, and as difficult as Mitch having to come to terms with Morrie's imminent death.

Mitch struggles to apply these lessons to his own life.

I really enjoyed this. I watched it once, then watched it again on a rainy afternoon, then lay on the couch and then thought about the ideas -- which aren't anything you don't already know, but they are things that we sometimes forget. Live life to the limit.

what a lovely feel good movie - yes it does make you sit back and take a look at yourself. Sometimes we l tend to take people and life for granted.

Disappointing. Too many preachy speeches. Characters unconvincing.

I read the book years ago, crying into my pillow as I did! It was a beautiful story - and that it was true made it even more beautiful. When I saw it on the lists at quickflix my first instinct was to jump on it. Then trepadition set in, as it often does when you watch movies made from a favoured book. But this movie did the story great justice and left us all in tears and big red noses. It was brilliantly acted by Jack Lemon and Hank Azaria, aweseom to see the latter in a dramatic role and do it well! Only watch with a box of tissues at the ready and in good company. There aren't any special features on the DVD (unless you count stills from the movie and a word from Oprah) and, disappointingly, no subtitles either. But don't miss this movie!

Way too overdone and sentimental. My grandmother would have liked this film. Hank Azaria is usually worth watching but even so, I couldn't sit through the whole thing.

This is about life. You really have to be in the mood for drama to watch this so your emotion will go along with the movie. I bought this movie after watching it and it has become my favourite movie of all time. "When you learn to embrace death, you will learn to live".

Not sure what the rest of the reviewers saw, but this was the worst piece of sugary crap I've ever seen. The introduction from Oprah should have been sufficient warning. Tuesdays with Morrie worked every cliché you can think of. If you want a telly movie that has more 'life lessons' and syrupy one-liners than you can poke a stick at then Tuesdays with Morrie is for YOU!!

Every thinking persons experiance will parallel this story in some way. It puts in words that which we all may be uncomforable to express. After all theres not one of us excempt from the subject of dying. Well depicted. Excellent acting.

This is a chance to look inside yourself. Morrie will make you cry. It will hurt but you will feel better IF you act on it.
