As social workers we found this really hard to watch and could not sit through it...not what we want to watch for entertainment!
A movie all parents and adolescents should watch. So many are not aware of the dangers of such sites as 'facebook" etc Excellent movie
A harrowing & deeply troubling movie that should be mandatory viewing for all parents & young teens venturing into the net chat rooms. All cast are excellent, especially the young girl (the victim) & her parents. Of particular note is Viola Davis as Gail Friedman, the psychiatrist/counsellor, a remarkable actress who underplays her role but is so powerful - as she was as Mrs. Miller in "Doubt". Both of these films are subtle yet brilliant. Don't miss them. 5 stars!!
well worth watching, especially if you have teens in your home. Scarey how easy these preditors are able to get access to our children thru the internet and how quiet are their " fingersteps".
great movie with a current issue in todays society! If you have young children, i suggest you get them to watch it tbh... aspecially if they engage in internet chat and texting... Prolly 14
It will open your and THEIR eyes about the dangers lingering in the unknown cyberspace and may make them think twice before they hook up withthhat "17 year old" they met online....
I didnt like the end, although, that ending IS reality.... A must watch for any parent!!!!
good movie, good for young girls to watch to see what can happen on chat websites
Wow. I was surprised by how excellent this movie was, it caught me off-guard.
A film that should be shown to all junior-primary students to warn them of the dangers of 'harmless' internet friendships.
The movie was all the more compelling because of its no-frills portrayal of the story.
Without all the hollywood-style drama, you believed it could be your daughter, or your family.
Really excellent.
A gripping story of inocents that leads to nearly breaking up the closely knit family. Fantastic acting particularly by the young teenage girl. The moral is "Trust your children" if you love them.
Every parent of a young daughters using the interent MUST watch this along with their daughter!!
Very good movie and very relevant in this day and age. Excellent acting.
Really good movie, acting was suburb, story line was done well, I enjoyed it. True life.
It really does make you think twice about people on the internet. I don't think it's that strong in regards to its plot, but the message hits you like a ton of bricks.
I watched this with my cousin and mum and by the end all three of us were moved to tears. There were parts that were very hard hitting and we wanted to turn it off but but we were to engrossed in the acting and the story. A must see for any parent and teenager on the internet.
kept me watching(not many can), very REAL to today and how easy (scary) it happens, real eye opener. A must watch for all parents, and not a parent but really thought it was a well done movie, with powerful acting.
Every parent with young teenagers should sit down and watch this with their kids
Very scary movie, it is hard to believe that there are scum out there like that who play on teenagers emotions.
Disturbing! Didn't enjoy it at all.
Totalling engrossing story from start to finish. Highly recommend especially to families with young teenagers - would be a great movie to watch together and discuss. Very believable.
Didn't go where I thought it will therefore it was a real surprise to watch it. The storyline is realistic and the characters also are. Great effort from Clive Owen as always.
this topic all to common these days, good film
Would highly recommend this movie for parents & teenagers that think the internet is a safe & danger free inviroment, shows the very really danger that can come into each and every home in this age of modern personnal tecnology. . . Yes. . it can happen to YOU! ! !
Good drama about the dangers that exist on the internet, especially for young people! Facebook users take note!
Gees, such a powerful performance by all, Can so connecdt with Clive Owens character as I have a young girl.......
The ending just blew me away.....Great movie to have your kids watch and understand.....
David Schwimmer done a great job directing...
good movie and quite realistic. the young girl wasn't a "victim" - didn't even get that anything had happened for some time
Sad and shocking movie that is all too relevant in today's society. Very emotive storyline and well acted by the father and daughter. Must see for parents with teenagers...
This is a tough film to watch - some scenes are uncomfortable to say the least - but I think it is an important film. The acting is incredible and it feels so, so real. I think this is a must see for all parents of teenagers.
I didn't really expect this film to be so grueling and so utterly gripping. I was expecting something more obvious. The young girl who plays the lead was astonishingly good, and Clive Owen actually brought me to tears in the scene at the end, sitting by the pool. (And I don't cry at movies very often!). I hadn't realised that David Schwimmer directed it until the credits came up at the end - he has done a superb job with a very difficult subject. I am so pleased to see him having such success with directing. Five stars!
Very relevant to today's society. I'd suggest that all parents watch it, but not when you are in the mood for something fun and lighthearted!
I am horrified that there is such a huge internet predator sub-culture.
A flop. Very obvious storyline, average acting and a very straightforward, non-ingenious coverage of a disturbing topic. Sorry David Schwimmer - you were much better at being Ross that being a director.
this film was gripping and scary for kids today. Parents should watch this film. Owen was very believeable as the distraught father. The girl who played his daughter was excellent. 4 stars for me.
It's the shades of grey and moments of moral ambiguity that provide the real emotional punches in this often intense and highly emotive film. An ensemble vast are all outstanding, with Liana Liberato entirely believable in a very demanding role that could have so easily lapsed into melodrama. Trust takes its cautionary tale role a little too literally on occasions and when it does, the narrative begins to feel more like a lecture we're expected to pay careful attention to for our own good. That aside, this is a mostly intelligent exploration of a very difficult subject.
A great flick. A must watch for every parent and teenager.
Well acted and believable. The daughter's, mother's and father's reactions to the situation raised all the issues that would occur. The film was well researched and therefore emotive.
kimbo and kath others like myself havent seen it yet so dont reveal what its all about and ruin it for everyone else just give your thoughts on the movie but dont give the plot away its unfair to other watchers who havent seen it yet.
A real thought provoking movie - just a shame Clive Owen's character as the father was sooo annoying! I agree with all the other reviews here - a must see for all families with teenage girls.
Great movie very current topic. Suggest all parents with young girls watch this.
That is a shock how it happens.
Great movie great topic one for parents to watch
Fantastic movie. Quite harrowing to watch as a parent and very thought-provoking. Some bits I found a bit hard to believe and any kids watching (hopefully well over 15) they'll tell you that it's something that would never happen to them/you! It's one of those cautionary tales, thankfully with an ok ending. Everyone damaged but in tact.
Why do reviewers see the need to divulge the story line, well now thanks to Kimbo and Kath I don't need to see it ?
Great movie. All teenagers should watch. Recommend.
Intense and confronting. Well worth watching just for the eye opening factor.
Great movie, but ending was very disapointing..
A teenage girl is targeted by an online sexual predator. This movie made so angry that there is scum out doing this. The two outstanding performers in this film are Liana Liberato who is wonderful as the victim and Chris Henry Coffey who plays the predator. You just want to kill this bloke. Every girl under the age of 15 should watch this. Excellent
The storyline in this movie is extremely relevant today. I did enjoy really this movie - at first I didnt like that there was no "ending" and I felt like the story was left hanging...BUT this is how these situations probably are in reality. I imagine there would never be an ending to these stories for the victims and their families and there will more than likely never been an end to sick minded perverts preying in the young and vulnerable onilne.
Very good and interesting movie. Happy with it but I felt like it didn't end.
not too bad,i njoyed it,relevant to today
excellent story that every teenager should see, explains the dangers of online friendships. Well acted well driected. Recommended
Highly relevant in this day and age, exposing the dangers of online friendships, relationships and supposedly innocent chats. Great message for parents and teenagers alike. Would have preferred an alternate ending though overall a very good movie and fully worth your time watching.
